Everyone was very nice, professional and seemed to be very good at their job. MY oral surgery turned out to be very difficult since this tooth had a previous root canal. This difficulty was dealt with a great deal of skill and had a minimum impact on me. Also,the issues about procedure that I raised before the extraction were dealt with in a very positive fashion and showed great care for me as a customer. If it weren’t for difficulty in getting my medication from Kaiser, I would have given them a five star rating. Despite this issue, I would definitely go back here if I needed another extraction.

I really enjoyed my experience here at Laguna Surgical. I did not know what to expect, getting my wisdom teeth removed; however, I always felt safe and like my doctors knew exactly how to care for my teeth and what I would need even after the surgery! I got all four of my wisdom teeth removed almost a month ago, and it went just about as smoothly as I could have hoped! I was very, very nervous beforehand because I had other surgeons tell me how utterly difficult my surgery was going to be, due to the location of my roots and how they interacted with the nerve in my jaw. How can you stay calm when your surgeon tells you how complicated it’s going to be, that HE was nervous, and how rare it is to see roots like yours?! Needless to say, I did not allow that other surgeon to do anything to me. So when I showed up to Dr. Johnson, I was still carrying all of that anxiety. However, his attitude towards my situation was vastly different than the other surgeon. Yes, he also saw my roots and how they would present a problem, but he had a quick and simple solution, and he never voiced to me any concern. He simply told me that the surgery wouldn’t be “typical,” he explained what he was going to do, and told me that all would be good in the end. I was knocked out and woke up a little more than an hour later, missing the four teeth. My recovery was a little rough, but they warned me of that, just because of all they had to do. I was prepared for my face to swell immensely, but there was very, very minimal swelling, and no bruising at all. I really attribute that to Dr. Johnson and how careful he must have been.

If I could give Dr. Johnson and his office ten stars I would. I was incredibly anxious prior to surgery, and Dr. Johnson and his assistants put me at ease quickly. My recovery post surgery was fast and without problems. As good as Dr. Johnson was as a surgeon, the staff was as good, if not better. My phone calls were returned immediately, they worked with me financially (without me asking), and were kind throughout the entire process. i hope I don’t have to have surgery like that again, but if I did, I would not hesitate to go back. I came to see Dr. Johnson after my original dentist never returned my call to schedule surgery. I was considered a “same day emergency new patient” after calling in on a Monday and that same week I had surgery. The thing I cherish the most is their TRANSPARENT billing process. They never shoved extra procedures on me and they gave me EVERY CPT code they’d potentially be using. This helped a lot in regards to preparing my finances for this surgery. I had all four wisdom teeth pulled by Dr. Johnson. His staff is very knowledgeable, patient and very understanding with my scheduling changes. It took 3 cancelled and reschedule attempts before I went through the procedure. This was due to my scheduling conflicts not Dr. Johnson’s. I am 53 years old and a little apprehensive about the procedure, but I must say Dr. Johnson and his staff made the process as painless as possible they understood my nervousness and made it manageable. I have seen Dr. Johnson now twice. The first time was when I had my wisdom teeth pulled 8 years ago and the second time was this week with my 9 year old daughter. I remember my wisdom teeth experience being great. (As great as a wisdom teeth experience can be) He is very patient and thorough. He explains things in a very comprehensive way. This time he actually turned away our business and told me to wait a while to make sure that my daughter’s surgery is absolutely necessary. His office staff is wonderful. I was very impressed with the office they have here. It’s very clean, organized, and modern. The workers here are very friendly and offer their best work. Dr. Art Johnson is rare these days. He has a great easy going disposition, excellent interpersonal communication and goes the extra mile to even answer the phone and makes his own follow up calls. My husband suffers from TMJ and he took extra precautions to alleviate his pain and discomfort. He listened to his needs and took him in quickly. This office is pristine and modern & staff is friendly and efficient too. It’s a sharp contrast from other dental/oral surgeon offices that are inferior and more into up-selling patients on expensive procedures and take forever to see their monthly visiting surgeon. We only wish Dr. Johnson provided regular dental treatment – then we could switch over all our family dental care to him.

Everything about visiting Dr. Johnson’s office was fantastic. When I went in for my initial consultation I was relatively nervous, but his staff put all of my fears aside and were very friendly. Fast forward to 2 weeks it was time for my wisdom teeth extraction (all four). Once I was called into the back room Dr. Johnson and his staff all had smiles on their faces and all gave a friendly welcome. They had some sweet music going on too, must I add, that really was helpful at calming pre-surgery anxiety. Everything went very smooth. Very little pain and minor swelling. As an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. Arthur Johnson manages a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth and facial regions. Dr. Arthur Johnson received his DDS from The University of Michigan in 1993. After completing a General Residency Program at Johns Hopkins Hospital he attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine where he earned his Medical Degree in 1998. On completing residency training, Dr. Johnson worked in private practice in California for one year, whereupon he returned to his native Michigan to work in Private practice. The appeal and experience of working in California eventually drew Dr. Johnson to return to California. Dr. Johnson has been practicing in Southern California since 2001. He currently maintains hospital affiliation at Irvine Regional Medical Center. In addition Dr. Johnson volunteers with Health Care International where he provides medical and dental care to the undeserved regions of Jamaica. Dr. Johnson practices the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, including dentoalveolar surgery, orthognathic surgery, facial deformities and reconstruction, obstructive sleep apnea, as well as facial cosmetic surgery. He is especially interested in dental implants, with 10 years of experience using 6 different systems.
