You don’t know the excruciating pain of a cavity that’s done so much damage it leads to an emergency surgical extraction until you experience it— and I pray you don’t. I was at work with a pain I couldn’t tolerate, frantically searching my nearest positively graded dentist for a visit. I (irresponsibly) avoid these visits until unbearable pain strikes due to the typical fear of the dentist. Dr. Constantine and his team at Lakemont Dental saved my day and what feels like my life. I had never felt so safe and comfortable around dental professionals and their intimidating tools. My experience from the initial call with the office administrator, Katie, who accommodated my visit under pressure (a holiday weekend as well as a hurricane warning) fit me right into the schedule in between patients that were already booked due to the expression of my intolerable pain. The Dental Assistant, Ms. Lorraine, was incredibly kind while taking my x-rays and prepping me for the extraction. Dr. Constantine was extremely comforting to be around and knowledgeable of his craft. I deeply appreciated not feeling judged for the very obvious neglected molar that brought me there. He made sure I felt safe, first and foremost, and helped keep the procedure as painless as possible. He also asked questions to get to know me outside of the dental realm, which made me feel like I mattered to him as a person, not just a patient. Dr. Constantine and his team understand each other so well, and I couldn’t help to think of writing this review the whole time because the service was truly exceptional. I am a healthcare professional myself and nothing means more to me than seeing my own patients walk out of my office with gratitude and a positive experience to reflect on. Everything happens for a reason. I have more dental work to do, and as horrible as the pain that landed me here was, I now have a dental family in which I can start a journey that’s long overdue. Thank you so much, Lakemont Dental! For the first time in 26 years, I look forward to visiting my dentist.
