If you are need of a root canal…this is the place to go. I’m a BIG CHICKEN when it comes to the dentist and getting work but here at Modern Dentistry they make me feel so relaxed. If you are looking for an excellent dentist that goes above and beyond for her patients, Dr. Thai and Lakewood Modern Dentistry is the place for you. I have been a patient for over a year now and I wouldn’t dream of going anywhere else. I have had everything from an emergency abscess to root canals performed. I have been seen in emergency situations, but never at the expense of or before the existing daily appointments. Dr. Thai has stayed late and met me at the office on what would normally be a “closed” day. I have always been treated with courtesy and respect. It is true that Dr. Thai’s office is aesthetically beautiful and she does have a Keurig Coffee station in the waiting room. Dr. Thai wants everyone that enters her establishment to feel comfortable. Whether your in the chair watching Netflix waiting for the numbing to take effect, or sitting in the lobby waiting for a family member, Dr. Thai has you covered. Some people would call that superficial garbage, but I call that being considerate of your clientele. So, if you want an honest review from an actual patient who has spent countless hours in Dr. Thai’s dental chair, her it is. Or, you can look for those who always know someone in the business who knows more or does it better and feels that they are justified in leaving a nasty review out of spite.

First of all the whole office is very clean. They are also abiding by all safety precautions due to COVID-19. I felt safe the moment I walked in. My two kids and myself had our temperature check before going inside. I also loved that they made sure no one else entered the lobby to ensure our safety. The whole staff is amazing and I was truly impressed with your phenomenal customer service. Dr. Thai was also incredible she took her time and made sure to focus on all my needs. I extremely satisfied with Lakewood Modern Dentistry it was our first visit and we are happy we have Lakewood Modern Dentistry as our primary family dentist they met all our expectations.

Haven’t been to the dentist for 6 years and I was on the lookout for a new one. I came here because my boyfriend just recently went here a week ago and had a great experience. After having my appointment today, I felt the need to make a yelp review because of the wonderful experience I had as well. First of all, the clinic looks very modern and clean inside. It looked like a spa more than a dental office. Every room has its own TV and Netflix so you’ll always feel entertained! I was so engaged with watching 3 episodes of Gossip Girl that I didn’t even feel the typical discomfort and pain from getting dental work. And trust me, I’ve always hated going to the dentist because I hate seeing all the needles and sharp tools going into my mouth. With Netflix on, I was so distracted that I didn’t feel much discomfort at all. Dr. Thai and her assistants were super nice and amicable. While they were working on my teeth, we were all just laughing about the show “Friends”, talking about Disneyland, and how Dr. Thai’s youngest daughter still believes in Santa Claus. I felt really comfortable with Dr. Thai and her staff and she addressed all my concerns and answered all my questions in a genuine and non-judgmental manner. I had a wonderful first visit here and I look forward to come back in 3 months for my next appointment. I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND DR. THAI!

Dr. Thai has been nothing but amazing when it comes to helping me with a couple of issues that I’ve had this year. The most recent issue was when I cracked one of my teeth on a Sunday morning. I was in so much pain I couldn’t stand it. I called first thing Monday morning and they were able to get me in on the same day. She was super busy that day as well, but still took the time to numb me so my pain wasn’t an issue. She actually stayed open later for me and she ended up removing my tooth and my pain. I don’t usually give reviews but I think this place is well worth it. Her staff is always friendly and helpful, the office is super clean and pleasant as well. Thank you again Dr. Thai for taking care of me and getting rid of my pain!

My daughter received dental treatment from Doctor Thai on August 5th, 2016. She is 14 years old. She was very impressed with the way Doctor Thai treated her as a patient. She also said that she was very comfortable during the procedure. We have been to other dentists in which sh felt uncomfortable because the Dentist and their assistants were talking in other languages while the treatment was being done. She had absolutely no complaints and left feeling great!!!! Thank you, Doctor Thai…. we will be back.

Just went for my first dentists appointment in quite a while and leading up to it I was a little apprehensive. So, given that this office accepted my insurance and looking at other reviews I decided to give them a try. I have to tell you that from the moment that I arrived I felt very comfortable with their service. Everyone was very kind and gentle, which I really appreciated. Dr. Thai is very thorough and she is a nice lady so I was really pleased. My treatment plan was easily accommodated, so if you are on a budget it greatly helps out. I don’t like hard sells and I never felt pushed, so it gives me the impression that they are genuinely interested in your health. It is also a nice perk that their office is very pristine and has a great atmosphere, but if a practice isn’t good, that doesn’t matter. In this case you get the best of both and you get to watch Netflix in your chair while your being worked on, what can be better than that!

I had a great experience with Lakewood Modern Dentistry. I went there for a second opinion because its hard to trust a dentist now and days. After comparing my prior recommend treatment with Dr. Thai’s treatment. I decided to get my treatment done at Lakewood Modern dentistry because the staff was very professional and their service gave me a feeling of “family” and not just a client ($). I ended up getting a deep cleaning and a crown. I’ve been to a lot of dentist. Most the dental offices that you come across sees a new client ($). Cause of that reason I’ve done my research about dental treatments and the consequences of not having treatment done. Reading some of the peoples yelp about Lakewood Modern Dentistry makes me laugh, because if you need a deep cleaning and not get it done its just sad. Some people just don’t care about their health. Overall, the service I received right from the beginning to very end was way beyond my expectations. Dr. Christy Thai came highly recommended through a coworker of mine, & I must say that I am so glad that I made the change when I did. The staff is so very friendly and compassionate. I could not get over how clean and new the office looks and the stations are awesome. The latest digital X-ray imaging, Netflix while the treatment is taking place, the delicate and sensitivity the doctor and technical staff have was very impressive. I felt at ease and relaxed( if you know me then you know THAT almost impossible). They take almost all PPO plans and are very concerned about finances and the out of pocket costs are very reasonable and acceptable. I have neglected my teeth forever and the need was now and I have every confidence and comfort knowing I’m in good hands. They worked out a very well detailed treatment plan and spread out all of my treatments to accommodate my schedule and finances. I now have a real dentist office I can call mine. I recommend everyone to go visit, get a free exam and enjoy the modern dentistry practiced there. Ask for Renee when you call and tell her I recommended you. No more runarounds and bait n switch stuff here. Dr. Christy Thai is the owner and dentist. Call them- you won’t regret it. They love Tesoro people! We are in the plan.

The patient rooms are clean and all hi-tech equipment. Came across this place because I needed to pick a new dentist due to my insurance. Kinda based it off of pictures but once I stepped foot into the establishment I was greeted by such warm and inviting decor and not to mention staff. Dr Thai and staff are awesome. I got my teeth cleaned as well as some fillings and I’d have to say I left quite satisfied even though my mouth was numb. First of all the establishment has all the state of the art equipment that makes visiting the dentist easy. All paperwork is paperless and on the computer. When the take you to the back and you’re seated in the dentist chair you’re there for good, X-rays were taken right in your seat because they had a machine that was able to be pulled out the wall and then put away. Pictures were also taken with a camera as big as a pen and immediately uploaded to the computer. While in the same chair they have an over head TV with Netflix and tons of movies and shows for you to choose from to distract you from whatever work you’re getting done. When you’re done with whatever procedure they give you a little care package every time with toothpaste, toothbrush, and floss. I’ll be coming back here to get my teeth cleaned and hopefully not any more fillings.

MUST READ!!!: It’s been about a year or two since I’ve been to any dentist due to the scary experiences I’ve had with dentist in Long Beach. When I say scary I mean heavy handed non caring dentist who just go to work for a check and Try to finesse you for every dollar. Now Lakewood Modern Dentistry changed my fear to a warm, welcoming, Excellent experience. When I walked into the office I was blown away from the inside decor to the warm welcoming receptionist greetings. They had complementary coffee and water, and the facility was super clean!!! Dr. Thai greeted me as I was was nervously waiting, her warm smile and confidence in her voice made me feel at ease. When she began my work she was asking me if I was okay. She actually cared about how fearful I was and walked me through every step of the procedure. You Can’t ask for more right?, Wrong. Then walks in Carolina who I believe was her assistant and began to make me feel even more comfortable in my own skin by explaining what’s being done and how to prevent further damage to my teeth. They informed me so much I feel like I can become a dentist haha. After my procedure was done I was afraid my mouth would be in so much pain after the local anesthesia wore off. I healed in no time, with little to no pain. I am extremely blown away by the professionally at this location. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION!!! The prices are reasonable and the staff is truly one of a kind. Check this place out for yourself you won’t be disappointed. See you ladies in a few months for my follow up and cleaning. What a delightful surprise we got when we had our first appointments with Lakewood Modern Dentestry. Struck first by the simple elegance of the waiting room, we were then impressed with the personable and professional interaction with the staff. Dr. Thai herself is incredible. She communicates clearly and concisely, in the most caring and reassuring manner. She’s both competent and gentle. The equipment is so modern that it’s nearly futuristic. Dr. Thai and her professional staff are courteous, knowledgeable, friendly, and empathetic. I’ve never been a big fan of visiting the dentist. Something about large and sharp tools being jammed into my mouth may have a little to do with that. That being said, when I go in for my regular check-up/teeth cleaning, I know I’m in safe hands with Dr. Thai. She’s great with her patients (as is her staff) and I always feel like they are going to take care of me. It TOOK a long time to find a dentist I was comfortable with. It’s been almost a year since I first visited Lakewood Modern Dentistry, 3 crowns, a few cavities, a cleaning and a wisdom tooth later I am still happy as ever. Dr. Thai has taken me last Minute when I am in so much pain I am in tears. they are so accommodating and understanding & willing to do everything they can to make you feel better and fix your teeth. I’m surprised by the review I’ve seen indicating that her and her staff are not caring and only in it for the money because that couldn’t be further from the truth. Dr Thai really cares about her patients and will do all she can to help you. I always get a call back if I leave a message or Dr Thai is busy. They thoroughly go over the suggested treatment plan with me every time and allow me to make the best decision for myself as what I want to do and what I an afford to do. They’ve even been kind enough to help me with payment plans in tight financial times. I’ve said it before but I really won’t go to another dentist after finding them gem of a place

From Jessica at the front desk to Carolina her assistant (who is just as knowledgeable as most other dentist I’ve came across) my experience was AMAZING from start to finish. I had got my wisdom teeth extracted and had NO DISCOMFORT during the procedure and little to no pain after. We focus on preventative oral care,cosmetic dentistry, implants and restorations, sleep apnea/snore guard, laser-assisted periodontal therapy, oral cancer screenings, and Invisalign. Dr. Christy Thai has practiced in the Lakewood/Cerritos community since 2000. She pursued her dream and opened her own practice in April 2012. Dr. Christy Thai studied at the University of Southern California (USC) majoring in Biological Sciences and graduated in 1995 with cum lade honors. She then continued her pursuit towards her passion in dentistry by attending USC School of Dentistry and graduated in 2000. Dr. Thai is obviously a huge TROJAN fan. She believes strongly in providing her patients with quality care in a stress-free and comfortable environment. The treatment she provides for her patients is the same treatment that she would provide for any of her own family members. Dr. Thai believes in comprehensive dentistry and patient education. She continually takes courses to further educate herself with the new advancement in dentistry so that she can provide her patients with the latest and best treatment options.
