I used to cover my mouth when smiling until Dr. Shapiro gave me the most gorgeous, amazing, perfect, natural looking, strong, comfortable teeth to smile with!.  Because two of my adult teeth did not develop properly, I needed a bridge, cap, etc. etc. covering most of my upper teeth since my twenties, and I had never been happy with them.  Dr. Shapiro changed all of that.. Not only is she a top notch dentist, I could really feel that she cared about me and her only concern was to give me beautiful, healthy teeth!!  Although I’m no longer in San Fran, Dr. Shapiro will be my dentist forever.

Dr. Shapiro’s office is amazing. There is something about that hook scraper that gives me the willies and I always dread going to the dentist but my first experience had me looking forward to getting my teeth cleaned again. The building that the office is in is a bit weird and is very dated. Once you are in the actual office though, everything is updated and very clean. The view of the bay is amazing from the windows you look out of while getting your teeth cleaned. The staff was extremely friendly. I really appreciated Zora, my dental hygienist, as she was really thorough in explaining everything that was going in my teeth. The experience was perfect. I wasn’t sold on any expensive procedures or products but instead left really understanding what I need to do at home for my teeth.

Great first experience with Dr Shapiro. Was slightly weirded out that it was in a mall/galleria, but felt much better as soon as I walked in. Jeff, the patient coordinator was super friendly and professional – and the office itself is super clean, modern and nice. All of the equipment seems extra nice and new as well. Dr Shapiro was wonderful. Took time to really explain everything she thought and was doing, and he approach was that dental work is all preventative, so she doesn’t rush to suggest expensive treatments you don’t need. Cleaning was swift and thorough, and the Xray system is digital – so it’s nice to see the images pop up on the screen instantly. And I can’t lie, it doesn’t hurt that she is a fellow Eastcoast transplant. I always seem to prefer my doctors from the east coast. Solid experience overall and will definitely be a regular patient.

By far, hands down- the BEST Dentist I have ever had in my entire life.  Not only is she thorough and honest, she genuinely cares about you as a person.  You can tell she became a Dentist for all the right reasons- and she is a damn good one that’s for sure.  She tells her patients what they need and what they don’t need rather than recklessly suggesting dental work that is unnecessary, costly and painful.  She makes you feel comfortable in asking questions and definitely has no gimmicks or tricks up her sleeves.  By word of mouth to family, friends and coworkers- everyone that I have recommended to see her has agreed with me: she is AWESOME!  I’ve had my fair share of horrible Dentist experiences (to say the least) and I thank my lucky stars for ending the agonizing grief by finding Dr. Shapiro!  I realize people dread going to the Dentist (naturally) but I can honestly say that my visits with her are always a pleasure.  Her staff is amazing as well.  Can’t go wrong with this Dentist- you will definitely become a fan.

Lea was excellent! I’m not a fan of going to see a dentist and she asked right away how I was feeling and made sure that I was comfortable. Holliday was great as well! She offered to put on Netflix for me, but I think choosing to watch Arrested Development was a mistake. Trying not to laugh while someone is cleaning your teeth is pretty difficult.

Lea is a wonderful dentist! She is very thorough, compassionate and attentive to the patients needs. I had a HUGE cavity in a tough spot that needed to be filled. I was absolutely dreading it and it wasn’t bad at all because she is so good! She also takes Delta Dental and Anthem Blue- both insurance programs I’ve been covered under and fully works with you to know what the costs will be. Dentistry can be so expensive its great to know that you won’t be taken to the cleaners for basic care. I think we’ve all had our bad experiences. I really appreciated her honesty and thoroughness. She’s also very personable, easy going and fun 🙂 You will look forward to your appointments.

I’m really thrilled to write this review because Dr. Shapiro definitely deserves it! I was able to get an appt within 2 days and once I arrived, I was seen within a couple of minutes. Dr. Shapiro took time to listen to my aesthetic concerns with my teeth after Invisalign, as I had some bonding corrections that needed to be addressed. She has an eye for this sort of thing that not every dentist does. Once she was done, I couldn’t believe how good my smile looked. The smallest changes made a HUGE difference ! She offered different options as we went along with the procedure, made my smile look completely natural and above all, made sure I was happy! She even called me a few hours later to check in to make certain I knew she was available if I needed/wanted any more tweaks to the work she had done. Well, Dr. Shapiro and her team have definitely made me a happy patient and I look forward to giving her my business for cleanings and all other dental work moving forward! A WORD FROM YOUR DOCTOR

As a general and cosmetic dentist, Dr. Lea Shapiro is dedicated to providing personalized, quality dental care in a relaxed environment where she treats every patient as if they were her own family. Dr. Shapiro is originally from New York with Eastern European roots; upon finding a home on the west coast, she is now established in private practice treating a community that she loves. Dr. Shapiro provides comprehensive dental treatment, emphasizing prevention and lifelong dental health with a caring touch. She has a great passion for the work that she does and loves working with both children and adults. Dr. Shapiro is a native Polish speaker and enjoys traveling, pilates, and a good conversation. She lives in Sausalito with her wonderful family. Dr. Shapiro received her doctor of dental surgery degree from New York University College of Dentistry, and followed with a general practice residency at St. Barnabas Hospital in NY-a level one trauma center. She is an active member of the American Dental Association, Marin County Dental Society, the California Dental Society and Spear study group.
