I have moved around quite a bit so I have seen many different dentists. The first dentist that I found in Fairfax was HORRIBLE. So bad that I was afraid to go to another dentist. But I had to have a root canal done, so I found Dr. Yi. She is Amazing. She is very kind and doesn’t talk down to you. The people who work with her are all very professional and nice. Dr. Yi is gentle and will always make sure you are comfortable. She will also talk to you about options, not just recommend the most expensive treatment. I cannot give enough kudos to Dr. Yi and her office.

I have been seeing Amanda Yi for about 2 and a half years. She is by far the best dentist I have ever been to. The receptionist is always very sweet and Dr. Yi herself is incredibly nice, knowledgeable and informative. I’ve had great cleanings, fillings, and other dental work done there. Never a bad experience. Plus, they have a tv that hangs overhead, which is pretty cool. Even though I now live and work at an inconvenient distance from Lee Plaza, I make the sacrifice to go back there.

The dental office will greet you with happy smiles. This dental office won’t sell you the bells and whistle but will treat you with exactly what you need. In short, they won’t over treat or undertreat the dental problem that you have. Lastly, her effiency is pretty amazing. Get injected with local anesthetic, get further diagnostic work up if needed, finish with a filling in all less than 40 minutes. For general promptness and efficiency of care I don’t think you can beat Dr yi’s care.

I’ve been going to Dr. Yi for years at this point, and she is wonderful. Her manner is outstanding and she is fair, patient, and totally trustworthy. Additionally, her office is state of the art with multiple TV’s in each space. Since I have had kids, my older child (3 years old) has been for an initial visit and was also put at ease. Overall, I can’t recommend Dr. Yi enough and would highly encourage you to call her.

Everyone in my family sees Dr Yi but I just started seeing her 6 months ago. So far, I have nothing but good things to say about her. She is very thorough. Also kind and gentle. I never realized how awful of a dental experience I’ve had so far in life until I started going to Dr. Yi and realized how great a dentist CAN be. She never suggests any unnecessary procedures, which I appreciate. She prefers to monitor spots rather than just go straight to fillings. She is patient and takes time to explain things with you. I never feel like she’s rushing when she comes in after a cleaning to take a look at me. She perfectly fixed one huge problem area that I had that my previous dentist had completely screwed up. Each filling she has given me felt so smooth and comfortable- weird thing to comment on, but when you’ve had BAD fillings you can appreciate good ones.The dental hygienists are great also, the office is clean, and I never have to wait for appointments. I love their text message system for appointment reminders. Great office!!

Majority of the people I know, they get so nervous when they need to make a visit to the dentist office. All those feelings subsided ever since I started going to Dr. Amanda Yi. Her receptionist and her staff are so warm and welcoming. They do a great job to accommodate and put you at ease, amazingly personable too. Dr. Amanda Yi is so thorough, explains every detail as she goes, and even takes the time to get to know you. All this while you are entertained by her modern day facilities, I love watching the televisions that have been set up in front of you and on the ceilings while youre lying down for cleaning/dental procedures. At the end of every appointment, you are given a great goodie bag filled with floss, toothbrush, toothpaste, gum, etc….great for traveling or to leave at work.

The staff is great, the experience is pleasant, and its a little over-the-top because they have TV’s both in front of you and above you, which made it almost awkward as I was watching the news as my teeth were cleaned. Dr. Yi answered all my questions and the whole staff seemed very knowledgeable. Gets 4 stars because I was in the second appointment slot in the morning (9:30), and they were over half an hour late getting me into a chair. Seriously, half an hour late for the second time slot of the day?

Honestly, I never thought i could find an honest dentist in the NOVA area. It seems like all these other dentists out here are just out to spend your benefits plan and then some. Dr. Yi is beyond amazing and yet so gentle. I had gone to a dentist before her and after some serious research i decided to switch over to her and I do not regret it. I hate dentist shots, I seriously contemplate on the dentist just drilling my teeth rather than numbing me up but she does it in a way where I don’t feel ANYTHING! When she did work on me she didn’t once talk down to me or give me a disgusted face when she told me I had to redo some fillings. She also didn’t con me into doing a “deep cleaning every 3 months” (apparently a lot of offices have been doing this lately) As a matter of fact she said I had great teeth! (Aside from my 15 year old fillings 🙂 She just simply said brush your teeth and remember to floss. No lecture (I know right?!?). Also, she is affordable meaning your benefits plan will not run out if you have to get a little work done. One more important thing, the average time it takes to get an appointment with her is two weeks or a week if you are lucky, but that is only because she is a great doctor. So just because you don’t get an appointment right away doesn’t mean you have to look for a different dentist, she is a really good and HONEST dentist. Patients do not cancel their appointments or leave her office due to the amazing work she does, hence why the long wait for an appointment.

My 2 daughters, ages 7 and 9 have been coming here for the past 2 years, and love it. Dr. Yi and her staff (esp Terri at the front desk) are friendly and very helpful. We left another office that really did a poor job on one of my daughters’ cavities, which Dr. Yi fixed. She does a great job on making my kids feel relaxed and comfortable. The tv’s in the exam rooms are definitely a plus. I’m glad our friends recommended her to us.

I have been to a number of dentists throughout my life, and I would put Dr. Yi at the top of my list. I have had numerous experiences with civilian dentists, overseas dentists, military dentists, etc…in fact, I even dated a dentist. Dr. Yi is very diligent, professional, and thoughtful. I found her by chance when I worked at Fairfax County. Upon moving out of the county, and not desiring the commute, I regrettably changed dentists. Well, I am back…and unless I move out of the state/DC Metro..I won’t be leaving again. Her staff (Teri, etc) are also very thorough, warm and professional. Bottom line, I really can’t recommend them enough.

I made an appointment for my husband for his bi-annual cleaning with Dr. Yi, which they were accepting new patients and making an appointment was a breeze. They are located in the Lee Plaza off of Lee Highway in Fairfax. They offer preventative care services (cleaning/hygiene, dental sealants, check-ups, nightguards/mouthguards, breath treatment, scaling, etc.), restorative services (tooth-colored fillings, bonding, crowns, bridges, dentures, root canals, etc.), as well as cosmetic services (veneers, whitening, invisalign, recontouring, etc.). Dr. Yi is gentle, informative, and soft-spoken. He had a very pleasant experience and said that he would definitely go back again. There was, however a billing issue that was of slight annoyance. The staff is friendly and the clinic itself is clean. +Dr. Yi 😀

Dr. Yi is the best dentist I have ever been to. That’s all you need to know. But if you want to know more… I found Dr. Yi’s practice through Yelp, and it was the perfect location for me, not to mention right next to Starbucks! The first time I went, she told me about a filling that needed to be redone. I made an appointment right away and came back within that week. I did have to come back a couple times after that appointment because of a sensitivity issue that persisted, but the staff and Dr. Yi were extremely accommodating and made me feel comfortable about having things stuck inside my mouth. She never pushed any products or services on me, and only gently recommended certain things to improve my sensitivity and oral health. She is incredibly personable and human, and has actually made me feel good about going to a dentist appointment. Also, the front desk receptionist (Terry?) is super nice. What a calm demeanor she has… She makes me feel relaxed just talking to her. If you are looking for a new dentist, then you’ve found the right one in Dr. Yi.

Although I was okay with my current dentist, I wasn’t totally sold on his being our family dentist and started shopping around. I found Dr. Yi online and thought to give her a try with a cleaning. I will have to say, she is a very warm, personable, thorough, honest, yet humble doctor. She was professional and has a gentle demeanor, and her receptionist was similarly very nice. Her office is clean and seems updated, which is just extra, but I would be sold on her as our new family dentist even if she was in a less modernized setting. What I particularly liked is the fact that she didn’t seem to push any extra services, which is what I felt about the last practice I was at, but really (gently) emphasized her main areas of concern. Incidentally, she touched base on the same areas of concern that I had for myself, that other dentists seemed to wait for me to point out. I am a fairly inquisitive person, particularly when it comes to health issues/visits, so I appreciate an educative doctor who sees the big picture beyond their scope of expertise. Having complete trust in your health practitioner is extremely important to me, and I feel I’ve found this comfort in Dr. Yi. Highly recommend.

Exceptional service – always!!! I travel close to an hour to get to this practice, simple because they are THE BEST! I used to have some serious anxiety going to the dentist, due to bad experiences in the past, but NOT any more! Everyone from the Doctor to the receptionist are extremely gentle, very friendly and caring. I do feel that they have my best interest in mind, and treat me as a PATIENT first, and then as a customer. I love Dr.Yi’s approach, which is preservation and maintenance, rather than aggressive drilling, surgeries, etc. Well, if it’s needed it’s needed, but I know for fact she will make every effort to keep your natural teeth as healthy as possible for as long as possible… And of course – no pain what so ever. I used to have very sensitive teeth… not the case any more. My hygienist Maya is wonderful! And just everybody in that office provides the same level of above and beyond service! I am so happy I finally found this practice! It took me a while, as my needs were more specific, than just typical routine check-ups and cleanings and occasional fillings. I needed someone who is knowledgeable and carrying and has MY best interest in mind. And this is Dr. Yi!

All of the things that you would want from a dentist. She treats us like people and always asks about our kids. On top of that, her staff is phenomenal. I don’t want to give 5 stars but I have to for Dr. Yi and her staff. I was able to get an appointment the day after I called and when I got there they were super friendly and welcoming. Law student that I am, I asked for clarification on the fine print of one of the sign in forms and without blinking an eye the receptionist graciously responded with an answer to my question. I didn’t sit around waiting half the day and when I got in there were TVs to keep me preoccupied both sitting up and laying back during my cleaning. The hygienist was pleasant and knowledgeable. Once the cleaning and pictures were done dr. Yi came in and explained my diagnosis in simple understandable terms. It was a great experience even though I’m going to have to go in for additional work. All the good reviews are well deserved. 🙂

I used to work in Fairfax (literally in the same shopping center) AND I had dental insurance, so it was very convenient for me to go see Dr. Yi. I have changed jobs so now I work in Bethesda and I DON’T have dental insurance, but I am totally willing to commute from my home in Arlington just to get my teeth cleaned and checked up here. I really like that Dr. Yi actually takes more than a minute to examine your teeth before handing you over to the hygienist, both of whom are very gentle during examination and cleaning. The TVs in front of your chair are a definite bonus for people who are skittish about the dentist.

Dr. Amanda Yi and her staff are great! I admit, before setting up an appointment with her, I hadn’t gone to the dentist in quiiittee a while. I mean with a toothbrush and toothpaste at home and no insurance, I never really thought it was necessary. But recently my teeth have been hurting because my wisdom teeth are growing in – not to mention the cavities I have (darn you candy and ice cream!), so with my not-even-a-year-old-health-and-dental-insurance from work I waltzed in and found out the damage that is my teeth and gums. Terry, the receptionist is great with insurance information and is very helpful in setting up appointments and calling with appt. reminders. The dental assistant (I forgot her name) is friendly and good at what she does. Dr. Yi is an excellent dentist – she knows her stuff and lets you know what she is doing and why. I feel very comfortable with her prodding around in my mouth (lol). So far, I’ve gotten a cleaning and fillings done. They were very precise and took their time to do a good job cleaning. The fillings feel very natural and the process was very smooth. I’ll need to get my wisdom teeth removed, but I’ll have to go to someone else for that. All in all, very good job!

I’ve been moving from dentist to dentist for decades trying to find a clinic that I like enough to keep returning to, and thanks to Lee Plaza Dental, I finally found it! Everyone there from the receptionist to the dental hygienist to the dentist herself makes me feel relaxed and comfortable. Recommended and reviewed by my brother on Yelp just finishing up my second visit at Dr. Yi’s office. Phenomenal staff and treatment. I mean seriously, when your dentist gets five stars there has to be something special there! The office atmosphere is inviting and comfortable. The staff are extremely friendly and catering. One of the super cool features of the office is how they keep you completely entertained with conveniently placed televisions and a variety of good music. The benefits of Lee Plaza Dental keep definitely keep your mind off from the not so fun aspects of having to visit a dentist every six months. As far as appointments go… They are very flexible and understanding if you are running a little behind, as I was… Oops. They keep you informed when you have an upcoming appointment by the week and day before which is always great. I would absolutely recommend Lee Plaza and Dr. Yi.
