Dr. Longo and her staff have been taking care of my oral health for 12 years now. Her practice was originally recommended to me by a coworker at the time. It was great advice! I’ve been extremely happy with Dr. Longo and her staff. When I first went to her I was petrified, having not been to the dentist in 15 or so years, and in not great oral health. She took very good care of me then and her and her staff have been doing so ever since. Dr. Longo will explain as much as you want or care to know. She takes care and time with each patient and seems to take great pride in explaining things to you. She and her staff are also very careful if you have sensitive teeth, gums, etc. they are very accommodating and caring. Dr. Longo is very conservative when it comes to surgeries, extractions, root canals, crowns, etc. Dr. Longo has earned my full trust. She has not steered me wrong once. I’ve never had any unnecessary surgeries or procedures and my preventative health advice and carehas all been gold-star caliber! A side benefit is that I understand so much more about my mouth and teeth and gums since going to Dr. Longo, because she takes the time to explain these things and her “bedside manner” is excellent. She is very easy to talk with and a natural communicator. There is no assembly-line dentistry here; each patient is given very good, individualized care — that is for sure. The biggest issue for a new patient might just be obtaining an initial appointment with Dr. Longo. She seems to be extremely busy (I need to book pretty far in advance). I don’t know if she is taking on new patients. She hired another dentist at least a year ago, so there is another dentist there who Longo hired herself. The location is great, steps away from St. Mary’s stop on Green Line (C).

I am a new patient (two visits and one filing in) and I am so grateful. Allowing someone to stick sharp metal objects in your mouth is never easy, but Dr. Longo is absolutely amazing. Her rapport, her skill, her commitment to her craft are all 5 stars. It has been hard for me to find a dentist I could trust. I am so glad the search is over.

Dr. Maria Longo, DMD, is remarkable in her expertise, in her focus on what is important, and her techniques. For example, keeping up with technology Recently I had anesthesia ( for one molar ), provided by guided computer technology. She has the ability to have the wider perspective about the patient as a person. Also about how the specific work she is about to do fits into the broader perspective of the patient’s total mouth health. Dr. Longo’s referral to an outstanding periodontist, Dr. Milagros Serrano, is also improving my challenges. Dr. Longo’s staff is attentive, well informed, helpful. In addition I recently had the privilege to be treated by her at the same time hearing her teaching a new assistant. Impressive how Dr. Longo kept her focus on my mouth, while diligently coaching. It is exactly as an excellent University Medical Center teaches. I moved to Boston 3 years ago, most of my doctors are at Tufts. I am also familiar with teaching models because I have been Ph.D. faculty in a medical school in another city for 50 years. She could easily be faculty in a Dental School of her choice. Yvonne, Ph.D.

Dr. Maria Longo & her staff, (especially Paula) are beyond fantastic!! They are so caring and genuinely want you to make the decisions you can do and afford to keep up with. You will never feel like you are being rush or bullied into any decision. AND DID I MENTION THAT I AM PETRIFIED OF THE DENTIST!!!! These 2 women have truly changed my life, by giving me my smile back! I suffered from years of excruciating tooth pain, cracked front & back teeth, I would never smile and hated photos. I wish there was a way for me to truly demonstrate my gratitude, but for now please take my advice and schedule yourself an appt with this amazing dentist and her team.

Maria Lourdes Longo is like my Kevin Bacon. By chance, an ever-growing group of my close friends and acquaintances just happen to go to Longo, and many of us only figured that out when simultaneously referring her to friends who ask what dentist we use. I’ve been going to her for seven years and think she’s just great, as are all of the people who work with her. They are all very thorough, considerate, focused on preventative care and they’ll even feed your meter for you. My only tip would be to book the first appointment of the day, or tack on an extra half hour for your later-in-the-day visits because her appointments run over on occasion. To keep up with all of her clients, she’s expanded her practice and even renovated the office. It’s nice in there…

Dr. Longo is the nicest dentist I have ever experienced. I felt like she was an old friend of mine almost right away. She’s an expert at connecting inter-personaly with patients and this helps me feel at ease. The office is clean. The staff is friendly. I’ve been going to Maria Lourdes Longo for around 5 years and have been very happy with treatment. I have a low pain tolerance and a nerve in a weird place and when I had a huge filling that needed to go in after the removal of an impacted wisdom tooth, she took extra time to make sure I had enough novocaine in the right spot. The staff is pleasant and efficient – just be sure to have insurance, it’s not cheap!

I went to Dr. Longo for a second opinion after a questionable experience with another dentist. I find her to be thoroughly professional as well as caring about her patients. She never does anything before making sure I understand what she’s about to do. I trust her; the dentist I had gone to before I went to Dr. Longo told me I needed nearly $10,000 worth of work done. Dr. Longo told me I was fine except for two minor procedures, coming to about $700. The staff is pleasant and friendly, and the waiting room is comfortable. I highly recommend Dr. Longo.
