I have never liked dentists, I get anxiety thinking about it and it’s even worse when I actually have to go in and see one. Because of this, I’ve been extremely picky when it comes to choosing a dentist. Before signing up for my dental insurance, I looked around for the best dentist in Newport Beach and then looked at their websites, social media pages, and most importantly, their credentials. The only dentist that I found in a 50 mile radius that had amazing reviews, a modern office and graduated from a prestigious school was DR. Desai. Upon walking into the office, I was immediately impressed with the decore, you could tell that a lot of time and energy was spent to give the place the vibe it does. I immediately felt st home. The check in process was a breeze (they use an iPad for this and paperwork). When I was called back I was immediately greeted by Dr Desai. She was warm and welcoming which is a feeling I’ve never had from a Dentist. I was seated and talked to like a human being. She wanted to know about me before my teeth. Once we were done the assistant took my X-rays and did a fantastic job being gently. He took his time, was energetic, and you could tell he truly loved his job and where he worked. Upon the x rays being completed Dr Desai and I discussed next steps. The only feedback I have is to make sure you have a lot of time the first appointment. I had set aside two 1/2 hours and was still in a rush to get out of there. The treatment plan was rushed through because I had a doctor appointment I needed to go through. I also don’t love that they want you to sign off on a treatment plan before you can take time to absorb it and ask to changes to the plan on timeline etc. then again this part was rushed so maybe it’s done differently had I had more time. I look forward to coming back and having Dr Desai perform work to get my teeth to where I want them to be.

I recently broke a veneer (front tooth- from another dentist) and was worried about getting it matched by someone else. Dr. Desai matched it perfectly and the experience was the best I’ve had with any dentist. She is a perfectionist and also kept checking in to be sure I was comfortable. Her office staff was friendly and efficient and the decor was exquisite:). Highly recommend!!

I usually do not write review but I thought this place was worth writing one. As soon as you walk into the office you are greeted and welcomed, the overall aesthetic of the place is modern. I went in and the Dental Assistant Karen took care of my X rays. She worked fast and efficient which I liked. Dr Desai is such an amazing person and dentist of course. She makes sure to go over any concerns and questions one may have. The procedure was fast and painless. From start to finish everything was great!

Having been to many dentists over the past several years, I can say without hesitation that Dr. Desai and her team stand out far above the rest. Dr. Desai is incredibly knowledgeable and skillful, especially her attention to detail. She firmly believes in quality work and will do whatever it takes to deliver a perfect end result. She went above and beyond for both me and my wife — seriously, I’m still amazed at what she was able to do with our smiles. She took the time to explain every aspect of the dental procedure, making sure all my questions were addressed. She worked efficiently but thoroughly, and I didn’t feel a thing the entire time. And she followed up with me multiple times over the next several days! She truly cared about how I was doing. Seriously, if a perfect dentist exists out there, it is definitely Dr. Desai. If you are looking for a pain-free, smooth, and professional dental experience with results that will last you a lifetime, look no further.

Dr. Desai is one of THE BEST DENTISTS in town! I explored many dentists, opinions and options to help me with my smile makeover. She is not overly radical and loves to save enamel. I would call her the enamel queen! She does not want to over prepare my teeth to make them into small veneers. Her knowledge, science background on teeth and her extensive education to stay up to date clearly shows! She walks you through her recommendation and why. She uses all up to date products and knows WHY the products are legit to use for longevity of my teeth. Her eyes for for a new smile is impeccable. My teeth were minimally prepared and bonded with thin gorgeous veneers wherever needed and the rest were bonded with composite. She has amazing hand skills and a true artist. Chose your Dentist wisely, I did and and I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Desai!!

I had an issue with a crown that was a few years old and I was referred by a close friend to Dr. Desai. Being that the office just opened, it was obviously spotless but it was also the nicest dentist office I have ever been in. You can tell that they really care about a patient’s first impression. Overall, Jennifer and Dr. Desai were extremely friendly and made sure that I understood everything that was happening. Even with a new crown and some minor gum surgery, the most challenging part of my visit was filling out the paperwork. My son also went in for a cleaning and the overhead TV really helped him be calm during his appointment.

If you’re in the need a great dentist, then look no further! My family and I have been seeing Dr. Desaj for a couple of years now. My son, then 4, hated going to the Dentist until he start seeing Dr. Desai. She has the best bedside manner, she always informs my son of her next steps which makes it easier for him.  Plus he gets to watch his favorite show on the tv while getting his teeth cleaned. Prior to coming to see her, I embarrassing hadn’t been to the dentist is years. Last year, I had to have her replace a partial porcelain filling. I had to receive multiple shots but Dr. Desai was so gentle that all I could feel was a little pinch. I respect her, trust her and know she is giving us and providing us the best dental care. Plus her office is beyond cute and her staff is knowledgeable and kind.

I walked into Luminous Smiles because they were advertising a Grand Opening $99. Teeth whitening special. Dr Desai and her staff are friendly and welcoming. Since it’d been three months since I’d had my teeth cleaned she recommended I get them cleaned prior to the procedure for better results. I’m glad I did. Dr Desai assured me she’d give a great cleaning as she had been a dental hygienist for 7 years, deciding to become a dentist and working her way through school. Her cleaning was excellent. I’m glad she pointed out I’m brushing too hard. Dr Desai showed me how to more effectively brush to avoid further gum loss and she showed me on my arm how I’ll periodically feel my teeth have a 10 second reaction to the whitening procedure. Glad she did as the few times I’ve felt it I was prepared. My teeth look great!

Our previous family dentist was my close friend but after he moved out of the country, we really struggled to find a new dentist, we tried a couple dentists but only ended up with disappointments, my 9-year-old daughter had a very bad experience with one of them, she was traumatized to go to dentist again until we found Dr. Desai. Dr. Desai is such a wonderful dentist who knows and wants only the best for you and your family, my daughter loves Dr. Desai, it was such a big relief that I finally found the right dentist for our family, especially for my young child, and not only is Dr. Desai awesome but so is her staff! Lisa is extremely patient and helpful, she always goes over everything in detail and answer every insurance questions for me, and the assistants are also very kind and welcoming! I highly recommend Dr. Desai and her team!

I came in to Luminous Smiles beacause a friend of mine had referred me and kept bugging me to get into the dentist( mostly because I have had bad experiences) I am so glad I came in. Let’s start with the office. It’s beautiful! And is up to date with all the cool technology for dentistry. And the staff is great! Manny was so helpful in the front office and Jennifer her assistant is sweet and gental. And Dr.Desai well she is amazing!!! She used an infra oral camara and got some pics of my teeth, and we talked about what the game plan is going to be for the work I need done. For my weekend away and for a little added sparkle to my smile I had a gem added to my canine tooth, and I absolutely love it!!!.
