Excellent! I followed instructions–called from the parking lot to say I had arrived. I was told to please come to the door (wearing my mask), where I was greeted and interviewed briefly about my temperature, any recent symptions, etc. I presented the info sheet I had filled out, and I signed it. Then I went in for my dental cleaning. Hilary was very thorough but explained that she was not using the water spray or doing the dental brushing after the cleaning–because those two things might cause aerosolization of virus. Dr. Rios checked my teeth. Everything about this appointment was excellent.

Dr. Rios is professional, gentle and very sweet. She also has very small, deft hands which is the opposite of my last dentist. I was a new customer and from the initial phone call the staff was friendly and helpful. When I arrived, I only waited about five minutes after I finished my new client paperwork. They take xrays of your teeth and I saw everything on a pc screen right in front of my face so I knew she wasn’t trying to sell me on work I didn’t need. The cleaning was painless, and I am not joking. She kept saying, “this might be a little sensitive, you might feel this now,” but I never felt a thing and I didn’t have any soreness afterward. At the end of the cleaning, they gave me a list of things I could have done (all elective, such as a night guard for teeth grinding, deep cleaning of the gums, etc.) but never was there a sales pitch or pressure to buy. I really liked her. Also, she is very affordable! My initial exam with cleaning and x-rays was only $59.00.

I’ve been going to dentists for a long time, and Marina Dental Care is the best by far. The offices are kept clean, quiet and professional, and the staff is superb. I had a root canal, partial deep cleaning, and a crown in past year, and I can’t say enough about how positive my experiences have been. Dr. Rios is patient, kind, and smart. She takes time to explain everything she’s doing. Her staff is the same from Ester at the front desk to all the dental hygienists who work so diligently and who care about doing a good job. I was referred there by my daughter and after each visit I make it a point to thank her. The cost is reasonable and you get incredible care for your precious teeth.

Esther, who works in the front office, is very patient and provides all the necessary information you need prior to your visit. Since COVID-19, they have followed all proper protocols and recommendations from LA County of Public Health when providing their services. My experience at Marina Dental was as good as a dentist visit could be. I arrived a few minutes early to fill out paperwork and I did not have to wait long. It had been several years since my last cleaning and Dr. Ortega-Gonzalez did not give me a hard time about that, just recommended I come more often if possible. The cleaning was great, all the equipment was modern and they did not try to upsell me on things like whitening or braces. Overall, a quality experience and I have already scheduled my next appointment with them.

Dr. Rios started her office with a single philosophy in mind; to provide the best possible dental care to her patients by putting their interest first. For last five years she has been able to accomplish that and provide her patients with an affordable dental care. Dr. Marina Rios has a special way of dealing with her patients. Because of her tender care, she is loved by her patients, adults and children alike. She has over 20 years of experience. Dr. Rios received her doctor's degree in 1988 at Nova Friburgo School of Dentistry in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. After moving to the U.S., she got her license to practice in California in 1997. She has attended a number of courses offered by University of Pacific and UCLA, among other institutions. Her foreign education is an asset because it offers her a different perspective in Dentistry. Dr. Rios is very conservative in her approach and she puts her patients' interests first. Once you place yourself under her care you will notice the difference.
