My girlfriend went to Dr. Lisa Guinan for a complete check up because the previous dentist did not replace the crown she was not advise to receive. I was very fortunate to be a patient of Dr. Guinan in the past and she replaced 3 crowns and fixed 10 cavities that was not replaced for years. I recommend anyone who needs a dentist for their friends and family to make an appointment with Dr. Guinan.

Who loves going to the dentist? Well, if you see Dr. Guinan, you will! The staff are so friendly and professional. Dr. Guinan is extremely caring and good at what she does. She is reasonable and really helpful. Katerina is my dental hygienist and she is amazing. I learn something new every time I go. They use ultrasound to clean your teeth, which is great. The office environment is laid back and I always feel at ease during any procedure.

If you need somebody who is honest and advises you in YOUR best interest she is the one. Her name is on the door which means a lot. She takes a lot of time to sit down with you and is just a very good person. The office is not much to look at but thats not what counts at the end of the day. In my case she advised me to go a way that she will not make any money of and I’m sure no dental group would have been so honest with me. Never trust a Dental group always seek the individual.

Me and my husband just had our cleaning done today, after almost a year of searching for a good dentist. And I can say that my search ends here with Dr. Lisa. She’s great, I didn’t leave her place feeling like I’ve been robbed (upselling me with everything and finding unnecessary problems so they can fix and bill me and the insurance). The staff is were attentive and approachable, they seem to be happy to be working, not your ordinary stoned-face office staff who won’t even look at you when talking, good energy and vibes. Special shout out to the hygienist too, Jenica. I have to make sure she’s there on our next visit. Also, you’ll know the dentist is good when you call for an appointment and their next available time is 2 months from now.

First impressions: 1) the receptionist tells you you’ll be seeing someone other than the doctor 2) and makes you wait 30 minutes after your appointment time begins My spidey sense tells me stars will start falling .. But then fate took a turn for the better .. 1) Cute doc (Miss Weng) assigned to my teeth cleaning 2) Couples Retreat playing on the TV (I like the movie) 3) Awesome and friendly receptionist 4) Free goodie bag with toothbrush and toothpaste (as a cheap Asian anything FREE makes me salivate) 5) Validated parking for up to 2 hours .. THANK GOD General suggestion for teeth cleaning: Rather than using the water jet to clean the patients mouth after each phase of the cleaning and polishing (and spraying water everywhere) just let them get up and rinse their mouth. Worked very well with my Bay Area dentist of 10+ years. Teeth felt clean and happy afterwards .. until I went straight across the street and grabbed a 960 calorie Chicken Fajita Burrito from Chipotle =).

I really like this Dentist! I moved from Germany to LA some month ago, so my English isn’t the best and especially not my Dentist English 🙂 But the staff is very patient and nice!!! I was very afraid when I came here for the first time (you never know what you have to expect in other countries), but they take care of me and this very good! I mean you can watch movies 🙂 In comparison to Germany this dentist is sooo great!! (I have never thought that I would ever say this about a dentist 🙂 ) I have never felt any pain during a treatment (just once and Dr. Guinan gave me an other anesthesia and it was over) and I haven’t had problems after a treatment. Since I am a patient of Mr. Guinan I can go to the dentist without being afraid and nervous. The only thing I don’t like is that sometimes they don’t talk to me. But I am not sure if it just in my case so. (Once Dr. Guinan had an emergency and I had the young dentist, without any comments- but she was good, too!) And another thing is amazing- I had problems with 3 teeth, and my German Dentist said- no they are fine, if you have problems try to change your toothbrush or toothpaste…Dr.Guinan took a look over the X-ray and found the problems (I didn’t tell her that I had problems at these teeth…She is amazing!!

I have had a lot of dental work done in my life, so I’ve been to many dentists. I’ve never been to a better dentist. Everyone’s friendly and great. They’re genuine, caring, honest, diligent, thorough, and more than anything else, they’re just good people doing something they care about. You won’t be treated like you’re just a bunch of dollar signs. There’s definitely no hard sell of any kind, and they try to actually save you money when they can. Once I had a cleaning due in late November, and they noticed that I had maxed out my dental insurance for that year (remember I said I’ve had a lot of work done?) and suggested that I reschedule for the beginning of the year. The only downside is that sometimes they can be quite busy and it might take a bit to get an appointment. I’ve since moved to SF and am in need to find a new dentist (which is why I’m currently on yelp searching). Second thought, I might just take a trip down to visit some friends/family and try to schedule an appointment. If you live in the area and need a dentist, I can wholeheartedly say that you won’t find a better dentist.

I love, love, love Dr. Guinan and her staff: they’re friendly, knowledgeable and really look out for the best interest of the patient. When I changed jobs (and dental insurance), I so sad to discover she was out of network, I didn’t go the dentist for four years. (Yes, I know: gross, and it was totally my fault) When I finally went to see the HMO-designated dentist, they recommended a deep clean + copious amounts of Arestin, a supplemental drug treatment that would have cost more than $1000 out of pocket. I immediately called Dr. Guinan’s office for a second opinion. Dr. Guinan’s staff was incredibly accommodating, and got me in for a consultation within a few days. Dr. Guinan confirmed that the dose was, for the most part, aggressive and I would be better served to find someone else for the more important dental work. Her staff also suggested a new cost-effective service provided by the drug manufacturer to help make it more affordable. This kind of service and expertise is miles away from that dreck of a dental practice provided by my HMO. Dr. Guinan and her people really care about you, and I would recommend them in a heartbeat. Rest assured, the minute I get better dental insurance (or can afford to pay out of pocket), I’m going back for good.

I had what I thought for sure was a pretty serious problem with a tooth that had been acting up for a few days. I don’t have dental insurance and figured I was going to be in big trouble. After reading the large number of great reviews on Yelp I called and managed to get a last minute appointment literally within minutes. An hour later after some X-rays and incredibly sensitive probing and analysis I had a diagnosis and a treatment plan that involved little more than a visit to CVS for an off-the-shelf mouth guard. I don’t usually write reviews. And I was curious as to why SO many patients wrote reviews for Dr. Guinan – way more than the other dentists in the area. Now I know. It was one of the quickest, easiest and most efficient dental visit I have ever had and the staff was just as nice as the doctor. I think Dr. Guinan is “The Tooth Whisperer”.

I never knew I could feel this way about a dentist office. I had bad experiences with past dentists which I am sure many people have, but I also had those rare good experiences (a dentist in Irvine). My experience at Lisa Ho Guinan’s office was on a whole new level – AMAZING. I loved everyone at the front office who were just so sweet and friendly – the hygienist was so gentle and great and Dr. Guinan was spectacular. I had to have 2 small fillings and if I had know she would be as gentle as she was and with NO pain or discomfort, I would have taken a nap! Loved EVERYONE at this office and I cannot recommend this office enough.
