Went in for a Zoom whitening treatment and was more pleased with this experience over a similar visit to another office. Front staff is very welcoming, my dental assistant Piper was very thorough in going over the details of the treatment and was very professional. Dr. Schmidt was sure to check in on my experience and I was overall very satisfied with my visit. This treatment yielded better results versus my first treatment (another office). So keep up the good work!

I have been going to Dr. Joseph Schmidt, the amazingly fantastic dentist behind Masterpiece Smiles, for about 30 years, and highly recommend him and his staff! Last week, I had a very old filling replaced on my upper front tooth. Piper, his assistant, swabbed some numbing gel where Dr. Schmidt was going to give me a further numbing shot, and the shot never hurt at all, not even after the work was over and the numbing subsided. Dr. Schmidt is especially good at giving numbing shots, and his cosmetic dentistry results are very impressive. All of his staff members are extremely competent, professional, and friendly. If you want to have a procedure done once and done for top results, look no further than Masterpiece Smiles and Dr. Joseph Schmidt!

I came to Masterpiece Smiles to receive ZOOM WHITENING treatment. I’ve used Crest White Strips and HEB White Strips in the past that have definitely whitened my teeth, but not as intensely or as quick as this Zoom Whitening treatment. courteous and professional staff were prompt to help calm, peaceful, welcoming lobby staff provided ample information about the service and offered to answer any questions I was concerned about pain during the procedure, and there was some light pain, but it was totally bearable. I was in and out in about 45mins I feel at-ease going here and would come again!

Dr. Schmidt and his staff have helped me really improve the health of my gums they have worked with me to discuss options and come up with an affordable treatment plan. Great staff that always goes the extra mile. Very happy with Dr. Schmidt and Masterpiece Smiles family, my whole family goes here now! Highly recommend.

I am very impressed with Dr Joseph Schmidt and staff.   From the appointment, to the front desk, to the dentist staff and Dr Schmidt, each and every person was very easy going while being professionals at the same time.  You never know what you get from a first visit to a dentist as the extremes are out there, but Dr Schmidt himself is outstanding and personable.   The staff and the office atmosphere is classy and professional.   I highly recommend anyone looking for a dentist to go to Dr Schmidt.

I had bought my daughter a Zoom teeth whitening for a graduation present. When she arrived at Dr. Schmidt’s office, the staff were the epitome of professionalism and customer service. Turns out she needed some dental work as well, and Dr. Schmidt and his staff went above and beyond to care for her. I am a health care professional in Central Texas, and do not often review other health care entities, but the care given to my daughter was superior in every respect.

I’ve referred everyone in my family to Dr. Schmidt at Masterpiece Smiles because he and his staff are wonderful! And they have been quite pleased with him as well. The West Lake Hills office is very convenient as it is right of 360. The staff are great and I feel very welcome and well taken care of from the time I arrive throughout treatment. Dr. Schmidt is patient and thorough. He has a very pleasant, friendly demeanor and has completely earned my trust. Probably also important in a dentist, he has a gentle touch! I never feel like he is doing more than necessary. Another important thing, unlike some dentists, he never has to “fix” something that has gone wrong during treatment. I definitely appreciate that I’ve never had to go back in twice for the same problem! All-in-all, this is a wonderful office that I regularly recommend to my friends, family and co-workers. Masterpiece Smiles definitely deserves positive reviews!

Dr. Schmidt is an excellent dentist! The staff is always so kind and professional! I typically do not like going to the dentist. I always feel like my lack of flossing will incite some sort of lecture, which inevitably makes me feel terrible about myself. This is NOT the case with Masterpiece Smiles. I always feel completely comfortable with no judgement! Every time I am in for a cleaning I feel so welcomed and at ease. It seems silly but I feel like everyone remembers me when I come in, which is much different from what I have experienced at other dental offices. Love this office!

I am surprised to see a few negative reviews.  My first visit I had my teeth cleaned, x-rays and a thorough check-up.  Dr. Schmidt found several red irritations on the roof of my mouth. I wear an upper partial which I wear to bed.  He suggested I take it out at night for two weeks and return in two weeks to see if it had improved.  It had not, so he made an adjustment to my partial and advised me to return in one week.  If it has not healed he would send me to another dentist.  I appreciate that he is sending me to a specialist if it has not healed.  His staff are so nice, professional and courteous. He is very caring.  I would definitely recommend him.

The staff here were great, very welcoming and efficient. The office staff is always able to get a convenient appointment time set up for me. I am seen, shortly after I come in and spend little to no time in the chair. The exam and cleaning are very thorough and whitening trays are ready quickly. I will be back the next time I am due for a checkup!

BEYOND AMAZING ! That is really the only way to express my experience with Dr Schmidt and his whole office . I came to him after an extremely stressful year to get my teeth cleaned . What I found out was that I was grinding and clenching my teeth and jaw so badly I had actually fractured 4 of my molars . Dr Schmidt recommended and fitted me for a night guard and told me I would be amazed at the relief I would find . Honestly the thought of it was not something I was interested at all , but promised him that even though I was skeptical , I would give it a try . Needless to say what I soon found was honestly shocking to me . The comfort and relief I found after the very first night had me beyond hooked . My jaw was relaxing , I slept well for the first time in a year and my migraines went away immediately. At that point I was smoking a pack of cigarettes a day due to massive discomfort and constantly feeling tension and therefore totally stressed out . I had no idea that so much of it was literally what I was putting my body neck jaw and shoulders through by constantly clenching my jaw and teeth . Within a week I had quit and have not felt the need to smoke to this day . I came back to the office a month later for repair of my molars and tried to convey my gratitude for dr Schmidt’s help but found my self thanking him through tears ! I had no idea ! I cannot convey how amazing my experience with this office has been . The kindness of the staff the professional manner with which they treat you , the laughter and the gentle nature of Dr Schmidt is quite honestly something I have never , ever experienced from a dental office . My experience at The Austin Dentist was very exceptional! From the welcoming staff, as I entered the door, to their overall clean environment. Going to the dentist was always a nerve wrecking journey for me. But thanks to The Austin Dentist and their kind and friendly staff I felt a little bit more at home. I now look forward to my annual teeth cleanings. I will always be returning guest at The Austin Dentist!

I had two great experiences at Masterpiece Smiles this week. Dr. Schmidt and the techs all seem to genuinely listen and care about your needs and concerns. The office is clean and comfortable and they even treated me to a little freebie for having to wait a few extra minutes, even though I didn’t complain.

I have been a patient of Dr. Schmidt for over two decades. I send all my family and friends to him because he and his staff are the best in town. Dr. Schmidt and his team are the most kind and comforting people you will come across as soon as you step foot in that office. Dr. Schmidt really cares about his patients and there isn’t anything he can’t fix when it comes to dental issues or concerns.

I cannot begin to explain how amazing this practice is. Not only do they have the most beautiful and up-to-date office, but their staff is warm and helpful and really work to fit you in. My crown had fallen off and they bent over backwards to get me in as quickly as possible. I have lived in Austin for 4 years (from NY and London) and have not found a dentist that I loved until now. What struck me more than anything is how knowledgeable they are, the analysis and diagnosis of my implant was so good, it fit with everything I had been thinking, the Dr. was clear, his plan worked exactly for my insurance and my lifestyle. Their financial person was amazingly informed and helpful. If I could clone this business into a hairdresser, butcher shop, fish shop, car repair I would. They are the best in Austin!

No one enjoys visiting the dentist but the entire staff at Dr. Schmidt’s office have made it the best possible experience one could imagine. The receptionist was friendly and knowledgeable. The hygienist was patient and kind. Dr. Schmidt made me feel comfortable the entire time and I never get judged. I couldn’t recommend him enough.

It was my first time at Masterpiece Smiles! Every year I get my teeth whitened and this time around with Dr. Schmidt and his staff was amazing! I walked in to the beautiful office and was immediately greeted by the receptionist. We started chit chatting and I waited less than 3 minutes to be seen and walked back to the room. My hygienist was super sweet too and made sure I was comfortable and asked if I had any questions or needed anything. Dr. Schmidt came to visit and check my teeth before and after and the whole staff was amazing! They use Zoom for their Teeth whitening and I am so pleased with the results! If I lived closer I would defiantly switch dentists and start coming here!

And who is afraid of going to the dentist? Feel your blood pressure rising already? WELL that is NOT the case for me at Dr Schmidt’s office. The staff is very warm and reassuring. They assisted me in filling out the paperwork and especially helping me understand how my dental insurance will assist me in my goals. This is not a fast food style dental clinic, and I was very happy about that! I had already been a part of one of those in-and-out rodeos. Those are not my style. I like individual attention. I was seen surprisingly promptly at my appointment time, no waiting. Another smiling warm face escorted my down the hallway. She took time to get to know me and learn what I was looking for. I had a few very ugly (chipped, crooked, and yellow) front teeth and I wanted another opinion on how to put on a face of more self-confidence. She showed me some pictures of some simple and complex procedures that they did on other patients. The end products were not only beautiful, but extremely natural looking. This is the place! After some xrays,I got to meet Dr Schmidt. He was very warm and friendly, and again, there was no rush in his demeanor either. He listened to the summary from his assistant and verified with me that it was all correct and asked me if I had any other thoughts or questions. Then his exam came. WOW was it thorough!!! And at the end he showed me some closeup photos of my teeth (I’m an engineering type so this was way cool!) showing me where I had concerns as well concerns he had. We looked at my xrays together, again letting me see what he was seeing. And what I loved best, is that he asked ME what I priorities I had. I was so used to being told what I HAD to do! Anyway,I was blown away by this visit. And the icing on the cake is that I decided to get my front teeth fixed but being a big chicken, I took Dr Schmidt’s up on his offer to have me sedated. Woohoo, beautiful front teeth and I barely remember going to the office that day!!! I love this office! I am so glad several of my friends that I work with all recommended him highly. My wife and kids also go here now and they all couldn’t be happier. The office is very esthetic and clean, and modern equipment. So now I’m telling all of my friends!

I visited Masterpiece Smiles for my first time a few weeks ago and had the best dental experience of my life! I’m usually very afraid to even have cleanings done, but the hygienist was very knowledgeable and kept me very comfortable during the cleaning. She used the hand-scaling technique, which I have found to be very uncommon (since it’s more time consuming and ultimately more work for the hygienist) so that I would not experience all of the normal nerve-pain from the scaling device that shoots cold water out. The front office staff were very polite and professional. They were very accommodating to also get my impressions for a night guard I’ve been needing for years instead of making me return for multiple visits. I would definitely recommend MPS to anyone looking for a great dental practice!
