I have nothing but positive things to say about Dr. Chan and Meridian Dental Group. I was referred by a friend who had a miraculous transformation thanks to Invisalign and Dr. Chan. Pervious dentists told me that I wasn’t a candidate but luckily I decided to try one more time. I saw Dr. Chan in February for the first time, started Invisalign in March and now six months later I am almost done… and now I have my own incredible transformation. I would also like to add that I avoided the dentist for a number of years due to anxiety. I explained this to Dr. Chan on my first visit and she took the time to listen to me and to answer all my questions – I never once felt rushed or that my anxiety wasn’t valid. I am so happy I have already referred a few friends of my own.

I started coming to Meridian because Dr. Cho used to practice at Dr. Lim’s office when I was a patient there. I was amazingly surprise how good of a dentist he was. He’s patience, detail-oriented and did an exceptional job in all my fillings. So when he and his wife opened their own dentist office a few years ago, it was my to-go dentist. The facility is clean, modern and high tech. Staff was also nice and helpful. There were times when Dr. Cho was unavailable to see me, however the other 2 doctors that examined me were just as good. I’ve been to other facilities before and they do not deliver to my expectation as Meridian does. Their recent office expansion signifies their overall growth. They used to only open M-F 9am-5p, which was tough as I used to work in downtown, but because I think they’re worth it that I would leave work early to go see them. Try not to be late, one time I was 20 minutes late (due to the train) and end up getting half my check-up done which was upsetting to me but at the end it was my fault. This is also the reason why overall wait time is great, at most is 5 minutes as they would not overbook or overlap appointments.

I have been going to Meridian Dental Group for about 2 years now and I am extremely pleased (contrary to the previous place that I used to go). Dr. Cho is an excellent professional who answers my many questions in detail, explains what needs to be done and demonstrates very good knowledge. He did not hesitate to send me to an endondotics specialist for specialized work (that he could have done if he wanted to). The staff is very knowledgeable, polite and friendly. I think they scheduled appointments with enough time allowance in between. So far I never had to wait any more than 2 minutes. Highly recommended.

Like many people, I’ve avoided going to the dentist for a long time and relied solely on daily brushing to maintain my teeth. I finally decided to have a check-up and went to go see Meridian. Dr Chan is extremely nice and gave me a thorough work-up. The difference I feel in my mouth is amazing! Best of all, it was actually a very pleasant experience. I had an extensive cleaning, a couple fillings replaced and even a wisdom tooth removed. Before I knew it, Dr Chan said “That’s it, you’re done!” and I was like “Really?!?! I didn’t even feel it!” Their office is clean and modern, and I found the staff to be very nice and easy to work with.

I have nothing but great things to say about them. I just had my wisdom teeth removed today with Sr. Cho, and he did such a good job that I didn’t feel any pain during the entire process, not before and not after (not even now). It could be because of the teeth were in a good position to remove, but the way he does it was so gentle and he makes sure you understand the entire process which just makes you feel so not anxious – on a dentist chair!! The team there is really friendly and responsive as well! I had a treatment plan for me and they sent me PDF of the entire plan with the expected expenses, and they answer all kinds of questions you have. A great doctor plus a responsible and professional team, what can u ask more from a dental office?

Dr. Raymond Cho (Meridian Dental Group) is the best dentist on earth on all counts: skills, knowledge, sensitivity, personal care, focus, patience with questions, willingness to listen and explore options optimal to the patient, and on and on. I met Dr. Cho when I was under extreme pain and after two other dentists couldn’t see anything wrong. After that, I will folllow this doc where possible. My husband has become his patient too (and he is picky!). Dr. Cho explains things, explores options with you, gives you all alternatives and possible budgets, lays out a program for present and long-term care, pays sincere attention (i dare you to say the same of your dentist!), runs a fantastic modern (spa-like)clinic with his very nice wife and staff, always mindful of your concerns and comfort… what else can I say? He is the best. He explains like a professor (told him he should teach), and converses like a real, intelligent human being (not a distant automaton in white that many dentists seem to have become). If you’re in New York, you really must see Dr. Cho. Your search should stop right here.

I can’t say enough good things about Meridian. I am pretty skeptical of most health and medical services in NYC, given the poor services and my past experiences. I started going to Meridian about 8 years ago and I have been a loyal customer from day one. Immediately, I saw the difference – from caring doctors and hygienists to getting decent and pleasant treatment I get as a patient and a fellow human being, the way they build trust and keep me informed by properly engaging me in my dental health processes. I had serious bone loss issues as well as periodontal problems when I first went there. They have not only given me the right type of treatments and worked out long term care plans, they helped me get on a path to improve my dental health and stay healthy for the long run. They have a well equipped and clean facility that is bright and pleasant, with some amazing and highly professional people. I hope they continue to prosper and stay in business so I never have to look for another dental service.

If there’s something strange going on with your teeth, who you gonna call? Meridian Dental Group! I’ve worked across the street from this office for many years and have never had the inclination to change dentists because c’mon, they’re all the same right. Wrong! I finally heeded my colleagues’ advice and went for a cleaning during lunch time. It was the most thorough cleaning I’ve ever had; each tooth was carefully flossed and cleaned all while I was watching Netflix. Yup, didn’t gag, wasn’t in pain nor did I wish it were over quickly. X rays were easy too. The office is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and super clean/modern. I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Cho. From that first visit, I knew I had to let go of my other dentist. He kept calling me and for many months, I had ghosted him until I finally told him I moved and found someone else *cue heartbreaker song*. Fast forward to an issue I’ve been having with a particular tooth/crown. It was bleeding and hurting; quite frankly ex-dentist #1 didn’t do a good job. He placed an”mushroom” cap which lead to me not being able to floss the tooth properly. I entrusted Dr. Cho to fix the issue. They would use their super state of the art technology to create a custom crown. The one Dr Cho created fit like a charm and I was able to floss properly after. It was all done in about 30 minutes all while I was watching Netflix again. Fast forward a year later, the same tooth was dying and I needed an emergency root canal. I came to the office for an emergency visit, Dr Cho saw me immediately, prescribed antibiotics and scheduled an emergency root canal the next morning (meanwhile the office followed up with my insurance to obtain an estimate for me). The next morning, I meet Dr. Shin who immediately puts me at ease. I told her the last root canal I had under my family dentist, I felt the entire procedure even though I was numbed. She assured me she would numb me well enough. And she did! She also put a “latex net” to cover the surrounding teeth during the procedure (it’s the little details that show how careful and attentive they are). Thirty minutes and a Big Bang theory episode later, I’m done. Pain free. And relieved that the numerous issues I’ve had with this tooth over the past decade are finally behind me. About a week later, my partner experienced a similar tooth infection. I return for a routine check up and tell them about his pain. Dr Chan personally reached out to their in house endodontist who was on vacation and scheduled an emergency session for him all the while being in communication with me on text over the weekend. We were so appreciative! He was scheduled for a tooth extraction a few days later. I have never had such pleasant experiences with a dental office: from the dentists to the front office to the PAs to the billing. Everyone is a true pleasure to work with and really go above and beyond. I recently moved out of state and refuse to find another dental office. I rather fly back to see you guys. I love Dr. Cho. He does the most beautiful fillings. If I need a very difficult filling done, I’ll go back to him. The man’s an artist. But there are two kinds of dentists: one that addresses every little cavity as soon as possible and one that addresses cavities when it becomes a problem. Dr. Cho would be the first kind. And I found out later on that that might not be such a great idea because fillings are never as strong as real teeth, being that it’s bone. So if you have a lot of fillings, like I do, your teeth will overall become very weak. Another unfortunate matter is this practice has some of the highest prices and doesn’t take some dental insurance. I had a difficult time keeping Meridian and Dr. Cho because they didn’t take my insurance at my new job. As for customer service, it depends who’s at the desk. Four years ago, the girls were good. After the office renovated, like two years ago, the staff was impersonal and unfriendly like the girl with the glasses that gets you to pay at the end who doesn’t bother to crack a smile. Maybe Meridian is getting bourgeois. But for me and doctor’s offices, it’s the quality of the work and the kindness of the staff that gets me to return. The best thing besides Dr. Cho’s artistry is you get to plug in and watch TV while he works.

Excellent dentist! They accept all major insurance and the office is very clean and nice and conveniently located. The staff is always super friendly and professional as well. But, I think the best part is I don’t think I have ever waited more than 5 minutes (if even that)! This is a huge selling point when you are trying to fit in appointments during the work day. Dr. Cho is the best dentist I’ve ever found! He’s replaced old fillings and a poorly fitted crown after cavity found its way through the gap. He tested me for gingivitis and determined my one weak spot resulted from the poorly fitted crown. This year, he saw me through, what was for me, a real crisis. My father was dying when one of my front teeth began to stick out and felt loose. My husband thought I was “looking at myself in the mirror too closely.” Dr. Cho determined that the tooth was indeed loose and at first recommended a mouthguard. On my next visit, when the tooth hadn’t improved, he took extra X-rays, suspecting a rare infection. Had I suffered trauma to the mouth? I thought maybe when I was young someone might have punched me in the face. But I had chipped a tooth with a hair tie decorated with a bauble at either end when I was nine. Dr. Cho referred me to an endodontist, who discovered the infection in both front teeth. Luckily, she managed deep root canals in both–the danger of the teeth breaking was carefully explained. However, my teeth were saved. The nerves were removed and antibiotics filled the area where the nerves used to be. Three drillings, three rounds of antibiotics, over as many months. Once I had healed, Dr. Cho, who had remained involved throughout, was surprised by how much of my tooth matter grew back. The roots were strong and he didn’t want to drill away at my regrown teeth to put caps on them. But the antibiotics and lack of nerves had turned my front teeth yellow, and one still stuck out. Dr. Cho suggested laminates to make my front teeth match the others and restore my alignment so the teeth were straight. He did this with meticulous skill and a sure sense of aesthetics. After two weeks of temporary covers, while the laminates were being made, my yellow teeth turned brown. But Dr Cho had had the foresight to order especially opaque laminates so the underlying color is unlikely to show through. He explained, however, that eventually that could happen. In which case, I can get my teeth capped. But by starting with a conservative approach and expert technique, Dr. Cho most likely saved me from the extra tooth loss caps would involve. So now, my two front teeth are straight and natural-looking. The receptionists, who knew my name on my first visit, are very accommodating when scheduling and juggling appointments. All the hygienists and assistants are personable, calm experts. The office managers even offered to appeal to my insurance company.

I’ve only seen Dr. Cho & Dr. Chan, they both are informative, not intimidating, and give good feedback on my teeth. You can tell they have a lot of patients, because you have to make your appointment 2 months ahead in advance for just a cleaning. The front desk staff is also nice and will call you if an earlier appointment opens up. They also send appointment reminders via text/email. Clean/modern office. Hulu is up on the screen as they work on your oral cavity. Only thing that I didn’t feel up to par about is that hygienists don’t do a thorough job/cleaning, maybe because they’re young/new? I’ve had better cleaning before.

You may notice that I’m from California. So why am I reviewing a dentist in New York? I travel to New York to see Dr. Chan and Dr. Cho. YES THEY ARE THAT GOOD. I was Dr. Chan’s patient when she was practicing in California. I was so impressed with the level of care that she provided that whenever I have anything serious that I need to get done, I travel all the way from LA to visit their beautiful office in NY. The office is seriously out of this world. It feels more like a 5 star spa than a dental office. The office is equipped with the latest and greatest dental technology, including a full face x-ray machine that looks more like a teleporting space machine than something that belongs in a dental office…. Super cool! Oh yea, did I mention that the dental chairs have 20″ LCD TVs so you can watch TV while you get your teeth fixed? AWESOME! Dr. Chan and Dr. Cho are so great that their appointments fill up super fast. So fast that sometimes the next available appointment time may be a few weeks away. Don’t let this deter you! Trust me when I say that they are well worth the wait! You may also notice that I don’t have any other reviews. That’s because I’m generally not one to do reviews. But I just got back from NY and after the experience I had with them, I feel compelled to sign up for yelp and tell them how great they are and how much I appreciate the work that they do.

Just wanted to update that Dr. Cho works fast and does a really good job. I’ve come in for teeth cleaning but had some tooth sensitivity but he managed to take care of it in a very short time and still do my teeth cleaning. He’s done several fillings for me in the last 4 years and all have been done very quick and very smoothly. He’s very detailed and pretty much tells you directly how things are going to work etc. The office appointment waits have also gotten better since a few years ago so it’s not so bad anymore. Only thing is I have no idea what is going on with their hygienists. Seems like every year or 2 I have a different person doing it. Also some of them have been rough despite me mentioning I have tooth sensitivity in certain places. They also constantly argue treat you like a child if you say that you don’t floss twice a day every day. Like sure you can tell me I should floss but don’t start a debate with me over it, especially when I have no cavities. So my 5 stars is only for Dr. Cho, for the hygienists I’d probably give it a 3.

I adore Dr. Cho and team, this was a real Yelp success story for me, when I moved to New York from the south I was overwhelmed and had no idea how to pick a dentist in the seas of options. I ended up going on Yelp and searching for dentists and the reviews for Dr. Cho sold me. This practice is every bit as kind, professional, and sleek as everyone describes it. You walk in to a gorgeously decorated waiting room that could be the waiting from for a spa, it has soft trickling water and light wood. I’ve always been seen within 5 minutes of my appointment time which, to anyone in NYC, you know is a rarity and a pleasure. Every dental hygienist is professional and warm; they effectively get your xrays and prework done quickly. Added benefit, while you are in the chair they have a tv with Hulu, it makes going to the dentist a treat, especially if you need more extensive work done. Dr. Cho himself is efficient and pragmatic, he explains the situations honestly, for example, when I had to get my wisdom teeth out he told me there was only one that had to come out but recommended to get them all out because of the way they were positioned. His analysis empowered me to make the right decision. The other story that I think really highlights how great Dr. Cho is was when I was in a 4pm appointment, the last of that day. He had finished up the scheduled checkup work. He pointed out to me that my filling of my chipped tooth was uneven. Being a front tooth I asked how soon we could schedule to fix it, and even though my appointment was over he fixed it right then, really extraordinary care for these days. The other thing I like is the office staff is fantastic with billing, they tell you exactly what things cost before they happen and I’ve never had a billing issue or confusion. Fun Fact: Like the music you hear in the office? All the playlists are put together by Dr. Cho!

After a poor experience at another a different dental office, I scheduled a last minute appointment for a second opinion visit and will now be transferring my care to Meridian Dental Group. The staff and doctors are very welcoming and friendly. The office was aesthetically pleasing and clean. Dr. Choi and the hygienist took their time and were very thorough during the appointment. They were both very professional and took the time to build patient rapport and answer questions. I moved here from the South, and needed a new dentist here in the city. I researched online and read wonderful reviews about Dr. Cho and his staff at Meridian Dental Group, so I decided to book an appointment. I must say that they are the nicest, most professional people. Dr. Cho came in to exam me, and he explained everything in great detail, and really made me feel comfortable. He really knows his craft. I was due for a cleaning and was really impressed with their dental hygienist. She was so sweet and funny, she worked quickly and made sure to explain things as she went along. The facility is immaculate and very chic in decor. The front desk receptionist was a doll, and got my paperwork entered quickly and I didn’t even have to wait 5 minutes. Dr. Raymond Cho is the absolute BEST dentist. He’s professional, kind mannered and a top notch dentist. I came to him after another dentist botched a filling, resulting in an unnecessary root canal. Dr. Cho fixed the poorly done fillings and performed my root canal perfectly, all while spacing things out timing wise to best fit within my insurance policy so the whole ordeal cost me very little. My teeth look great, my root canal that he performed years ago has had no issues and I invested in the Invisalign w Dr.Cho with fantastic results. The office is beautiful, clean and has modern/up to date equipment. The staff is ALWAYS courteous, professional and efficient. They are SO helpful with working through insurance rules/coverage questions to make sure you’re maximizing your plan and paying the least out of pocket. Ive also never waited more than 5 min from my appointment time. Lastly, they let you watch Hulu while you’re getting your cleanings/work done to pass the time. I honestly can’t say enough good things about this doctor and his entire team. I really wish I could find this type of experience with all my other doctors, but it’s tough to find.

Dr. Cho is a good doctor. But I would encourage Yelp users to be a bit skeptical. Be skeptical of mostly glowing reviews, and overly negative reviews. The office is clean, the staff mostly friendly, the equipment up to date. This should be the norm, rather than the exception. In some ways, our standards have dipped so low that anyone above par seems extraordinary. A dentist should have a solid bedside manner, and competency. This dentist seems to have both. There’s a but: I do not want to schedule three or four months in advance because a dentist is popular. Check Zocdoc. There are plenty of experienced and well reviewed dentists who do not require extensive scheduling.

Bad teeth is something that I unfortunately inherited. This includes root canals, crowns, impacts, a bridge, cavities, etc. I have always had a very close relationship with my dentist due to frequent visits to ensure my teeth remain healthy and my smile gleaming. When I moved to NY 4 yrs ago, I blindly searched to find a practice that I could rebuild a relationship. I found Meridian Dental and Dr. Cho through YELP. On my first visit, I absorbed all that is provided through this practice and felt really good. As I continued visiting, I felt so at home and I enjoy going to the dentist. The practice/office is spotless and their equipment is up to date I never have to wait in a lobby HULU in the chair is a plus Same staff, since I began, that recognize my voice when I call! Staff retention really speaks to excellence in management. Office staff always do all the dirty work with my insurance provider Dr. Cho goes above and beyond by educating me on current state and action plans to keep my teeth healthy and beautiful. Even though I always follow his advise, he provides options on next steps so you can make an educated decision on how you want your needs handled. I NEVER feel the anesthesia injection! He works with extreme accuracy and can accomplish a lot in each or any visit. The finished product is nothing but the best! I truly lucked out finding Dr. Cho. He is a kind & smart person and a incredibly skilled Dr. Both Dr Cho & Dr Chan deserve EVERY rave review as it has been earned through hard work in their practice and excellence in customer service.
