My visit to Methuen family dentistry was by far the best experience I’ve ever had, let’s just say I’m the stereotypical rough and tough tradesman that isn’t afraid of anything… except any visit to the doctor/dentist where there’s a chance of encountering a needle, well after a talk with Dr. Sivers and telling him how nervous I was he was kind enough to walk me through every step of the process to put my mind at ease. All and all it’s a great place great staff and top of the line care!

I don’t regularly leave online reviews but have to tell you about the excellent experience I’ve had with Dr. Sivers and the whole team at Methuen Family Dentistry. Due to some less-than-ideal experiences in my childhood and past, I’m a hesitant dental patient. I mustered up the courage to visit Dr. Sivers, realizing that I’d need some fairly significant work to get back on track. What followed over the following number of weeks was a positive experience that felt respectful and personalized. Dr. Sivers and the team took the time to listen, efficiently diagnosed the areas I needed to address, created and communicated a clear plan, explained each phase of the work, and helped with the logistics to address the work. In the process, they helped create comfortable conditions for me. We recently completed the work I needed to have done, have addressed big and small issues, and am in a healthier place. I appreciate the empathy and skill with which Dr. Sivers and the team do their work. Highly recommend

6/16/2021 Update to my initial review. I had my 1st and hopefully only endosteal implant put in on May 24th. This was to replace my back molar that had to be pulled. Dr Sivers and his staff were so personal and walked me through every step. The 3D x-ray he did prior to the implant was impressive and he explained everything in good detail. It allowed him to look at where the nerves lie and how my jaw bone is formed. The implant itself took about 1 1/2 hours. The overall experience went very well, considering I am very anxious with any dentist work and this by far was the most extensive. I was slightly swollen and had some soreness for about 5-7 days, but nothing tylenol/ aleeve could not manage. The swollen area last about 3-4 days. I also had 2 stitches to keep the gums together around the implant. This was a bit annoying as it felt I had food there. I was happy when they were taken out on June 8th. That took less than 5 minutes. I will be seeing Dr Shivers in 3 months to have him check how the implant is healing. I also want to thank Barbara who is Dr Shivers office manager for putting up with my coverage questions!!! There were many and she was very patient with me 🙂 I recently started seeing Dr. Shivers as my new dentist. He is very compassionate and pleasant. He walked me through each step on a new treatment plan with great detail.I liked that he didn’t overwhelm me initially and gave me some time to digest that I will need to have a molar extracted. This is the 1st tooth I will need to have extracted which was awful to hear. But even with this bad news I am confident my future ahead will be in great hands with the plan he outlined with the implant I will now need.
