Dr. Montgomery is always there for you. He is concerned most of all with you comfort and does not rush like these dental clinics. He even came in for me just before leaving a couple of hours later on a trip. Although he is very serious about his work, and maintaining an outstanding and dedicated staff, he does also have a good sense of humor. He keeps up with the latest techniques and equipment. If he cannot do a procedure, he will tell you right off and not bluff his way through trying to get that extra buck.

Best Dentist and friendliest staff ever!!! Dr. Montgomery took sooooo much time with me and my cleaning. It was a lot of work because I hadn’t been to the dentist in way too long. He was patient, took time to explain why flossing is more important than for just gum health and had such a calm, assured demeanor! He is respectful to his staff in addition to his patients. Did I mention he had to come let me in the building and that didn’t phase him at all either!! (I had the first appointment of the day and clearly the building Mgmt hadn’t arrived yet) I will definitely be back…. AND floss Every day! The view from the dentist chair is unsurpassed too!

What a lovely, kind, knowledgeable and professional man with more patience than any doctor I’ve ever seen! I am new to the area and had a dental emergency thanks to pregnancy hormones. I didn’t sleep all night because of the pain. Dr. Montgomery’s office is just a few hundred feet away and I took the chance. I am so glad I did because he truly cared to help me. He didn’t rush, explained things in an easy and professional manner and he made me feel completely comfortable at all times. For someone who has a slight fear, TMJ, sensitive teeth – he was the perfect dentist for me. The whole team went above and beyond and I especially love how family friendly the office is. I have a 2 year old who had to join me at the appointment and I was blown away by how willing everyone was to take care of her while I was being treated. Everyone in this office is so sweet and genuine. Since it was my first appointment with them, Dr. Montgomery took X rays of my teeth, then educated me on how to read the X rays and how to take optimal care of my teeth based on what we saw from the X rays. I feel that I can trust Dr. Montgomery and the other professionals who work here. Since I have switched insurance plans, I no longer come to Dr. Montgomery but if I could, I would go back within a heartbeat!

I was referred by a friend well over 15 years ago and Dr. M has been my favorite dentist ever since. I love how he will come and sit down with a serious look on his face after my teeth are cleaned and pretend to tell me how much I need a tooth tattoo of a battleship. They always have pina colada fluoride for me. I always try to bring teeth related toys when I visit. Getting my teeth cleaned feels like I’m at a spa it’s so relaxing. Seriously. My husband wasn’t happy with any dentists he was finding in Los Angeles – they were all trying to upsell him something so I suggested he see Dr. M and he’s never left. There is a reason that ALL of Dr. Montgomery (and his staff’s) reviews are 5 stars. He’s the best.

I cannot believe it has taken me this long to write this review for Dr. Montgomery, but rest assured there is no finer dentist in the world. I first came to Dr. Montgomery as a child after witnessing a child specialist abuse another child patient. Dr. Montgomery made going to the dentist enjoyable. So enjoyable, that I’ve been seeing him for 30 years! Due to geographic changes in my life, I have periodically had to get cleanings done by local dentists when I couldn’t make it back to see Dr. Montgomery. Every single time I regret it. I was up sold into needing deep cleanings or even a root canal! Which of course I didn’t need. This practice is full of scary individuals. Thank God for Dr. Montgomery. He is patient, he is prudent, he understands the holistic nature of the body, and always using the least invasive method to accomplish what needs to be done. He always goes above and beyond for his patients. And the rest of his staff is fabulous as well!

For Linda A. For emergencies, Dr. Montgomery will see you very quickly. He will even open his office for you. If Dr. Montgomery does not know something, he will not bluff his way through with some answer, but comes right out and tell you. I needed a specialist, and I went to the dentist he recommended, who was also great and deserves five stars too. He is concern about your comfort, he does not lecture you, but does explain what you should do while not being judgmental.. What more is there to say that has not been said. We don’t go to his office for the view, but today I kidded his assistant about not having the view. His two primary rooms have the view. His other room is primary for X-Raying and some procedures. But, one does not wait long in the chair before getting ones teeth cleaned or a dental procedure and end up looking at the ceiling anyway.

After my terrible experience with another dentist (yelp.com/review_share/Il…), I was downright afraid to go to another dentist again. But Dr. Montgomery and his staff have been a godsend. From the moment I called his office and spoke with Irene (the receptionist) I knew things were looking good because she took the time to follow up with my previous dentist to get my medical records. She also contacted my insurance company and actually found an error in their coverage letter, then faxed me a copy for review. Good first impression. Anyway I really can’t say enough about Dr. Montgomery. He is a caring man with a nice smile and a kind heart, and just all around a kick-ass dentist. I came in with a problem caused by another dentist, and he fixed it- simple as that. He really takes the time to listen and I never get the feeling that he is rushed. He explains everything in great detail and answers all of my questions (which I tend to have a lot of considering I’m analyst). He’s been in practice for over 30 years, served on the Peer Review Committee of the Western LA Dental Society for 10 years and decorated with numerous awards. I also love that he’s born and raised in Playa del Rey as I am a local now, and you can’t beat the beautiful view of the marina from his dentist chair.

I have been going to Dr. Montgomery for 20+ years. He is the only dentist who has made sure I was completely numb and out of any pain before beginning any procedure. I have had horrible experiences with other dentists, but NEVER a problem with Dr. Montgomery because he listens, and he cares! I had not been to the dentist in a year and I was dreading the first appointment back. I was no longer living by my old dentist and I found Dr. Montgomery’s office through yelp. I was absolutely blown away by the experience. He had to take X rays as I had not had any done in years and it was my first time at his office. From the cleaning to the X rays and the actual examination (were he went over my X rays in detail and explained how everything looked and worked) it was a wonderful process. I’ve never had a dentist go into so much detail regarding X rays, flossing and Whitening trays. I highly recommend him and would wager your visit there will blow away the normal Dentist appointment experience.

I just got home from my appointment with Dr. Montgomery. Again, I can not give higher praise to a dentist, unfortunately I’ve needed a lot of dental care throughout my life and have seen many dentists over the years, however, Dr. Montgomery is the absolute best. I’m grateful the day I found him. Sincerely, he is most gentle when giving injections, I know, I’m a true chicken. He takes his time and doesn’t rush the process, hence no pain. He listens to your needs and goes out of his way to address your questions and fears. I had two dental emergencies which necessitated calls for Dr. Montgomery’s help, his immediate response, come right over, we’ll fix it. Unbelievable in these days, but it’s true. He goes out of his way to treat his patients in all situations. Dr. Montgomery went out of his way to help me when I had an industrial injury that involved broken teeth. The industrial insurance dentist wanted to pull the teeth. Thankfully, I asked for Dr. Montgomery’s opinion. His exam, observation and opinion was very different, he said it looked like the teeth could be saved, but would need caps or veneers. He even accepted the provisions from injury insurance which meant much less money than he would receive for his services. It was not easy dealing with the insurance company and cost him personally. I cannot thank him for his help and patience and kindness. I am now the proud owner of beautiful veneers and my own teeth intact. I’m more than grateful.

Let me preface this by saying that I used to hate going to the dentist because they’ve always tried convincing me to get one expensive procedure after another. I had it in my head that dentists are essentially really aggressive salespeople. I avoided seeing anyone for over a year and finally gave Dr. Montgomery a try because his office is close to my apartment (and because I desperately needed a cleaning). Dr. Montgomery is the best dentist I’ve ever met. I don’t mind going to the dentist anymore! He hasn’t tried to sell me on anything I don’t need, not once. He’s patient, funny, and he genuinely seems to care about my teeth – I can’t think of any other reason why he would insist that I floss every night and brush my teeth for ten minutes every day. All in all, he’s great and his front-desk staff are lovely. I recommend him to everyone I know.

My wife Kami turned me on to this dental office and I’m very grateful that she did. Wow! I just came back from my first appointment with Dr. Montgomery, and I can’t praise him and his team enough. Irene, the receptionist, was fantastic. She was friendly and helpful from beginning to end. She even caught a slip up from my insurance company (it says “prime dental coverage” on my card, but I only have emergency dental coverage – how misleading!) and, although I didn’t have dental coverage, offered to give me a discount because she understood that I wasn’t planning on paying for my entire visit alone. She also let me pay in installments even after the discount. She couldn’t have been more accommodating and wonderful if she’d tried! Dr. Montgomery himself is great. I have severe dental anxiety after a lifetime of crappy, dishonest dentists, but Dr. Montgomery made me comfortable from the get go. He kept things light-hearted and was obviously looking out for my best interests instead of just trying to milk me for every penny (as previous doctors have tried to do to me). He saw some tooth decay, showed me where it was, and said that I could prevent it from becoming a cavity if I took better care of my teeth. I’ve never had a dentist point that out to me before; they usually reach for the drill immediately to charge me for fillings!

I cannot stress how much I love Doc M. I’ve referred anyone I can to him. I started going to his practice when I lived about 10 minutes from there, and even though for the past 12 years I’ve lived a good 35 minutes from there, I still won’t see any other dentist. Plus, YOU CANNOT BEAT THE VIEW FROM YOUR CHAIR as you have work done! A year or so ago, to try to save money, I cheated on Doc M. I used some stupid coupon to see a dentist close-by for x-rays and the whole lot, only to have them try to scam me by telling me I needed $1600.00 worth of dentistry and that they couldn’t even clean my teeth for some vague reason. I went back there to get my x-rays to show to Doc M. and he confirmed my suspicions by telling me that, at best, I MIGHT EVENTUALLY need a couple things done, but that for now I am A-OK teeth-wise. I told him I was sorry for cheating on him and that it would never happen again.

Abi, Irene, Angie, Joy and Leity are some of the nicest people you will meet. There is an overall happy going on in this office and everyone of these woman have been super sweet and very competent at what they do, when I’ve been in their chair. My grown kids saw Dr. Monty and my mom .when visiting from Wisconsin thought he was the best. I personally think he is the pain free Dentist in Weschester Playa del rey. In the past, I have not had much luck using Yelp to find a dentist. Most offices simply don’t have any reviews. In my quest for the perfect dentist, I have been to 5 different dentists in the past three years (cleaning every 6 months, and some minor dental work). However, I have just found my new dentist.
