Excellent patient care! I have been coming here for over 10 years. In that time span, I have had numerous work done including fillings, Invisalign and more crowns than the royal family! I am also not your typical dental patient. I have a HYPERSENSITIVE GAG REFLEX, which makes any dental work extremely difficult. Only a patient and skilled dentist and dental staff can get the job done efficiently. Prior dentists were not able to tolerate my gag reflex and some even left work unfinished. They tried several tricks like placing salt on my tongue, asking me to make a fist or raise a foot, and one even went so far as to place a large rubber object inside my mouth to force it open (insane, right?!). None of those tricks worked because there is no substitute for a patient and skilled dentist. The fact that Dr. Casey has been able to complete all of the work that he has on me is a HUGE DEAL. Dr. Casey and his staff are wonderful; they have reinvented my smile and I couldn’t be more thankful for the patience, professionalism and excellent quality of work they have displayed throughout the years. I refer everyone who needs a dentist to Mid-Valley Dental Care and they all remain loyal customers and have only the best things to say.

This review is for Dr. Casey Lau – who practices and is one of the two brothers who own Mid Valley Dental. I have been going to Dr. Casey for over 15 years now. I initially went to him after my dentist at the time said I needed an implant, but was not able to do the procedure. I have several friends who went to Dr. Casey, so I decided to take a visit and see what he had to say. From the get-go, he was straightforward with his diagnosis, and provided several options (including pros/cons, short- and long-term concerns, etc.). I felt very comfortable and decided to have him do the procedure. All went well, and I knew I had a new dentist. Fast forward to now, he’s done all kinds of work on my teeth – filling cavities, new crowns, crown replacement, Invisalign, teeth whitening, and even a root canal. I know he and his brother are always at the forefront of technology – always looking to learn and adapt to new tools and procedures. Their office has been renovated and is very comfortable and welcoming, and I’ve been there so much that many on the staff recognize me and know me by name. I have moved a bit further away from Dr. Casey’s office, but I continue to choose him as my dental care provider. He has a very easygoing demeanor, and is patient with questions and concerns (about treatment as well as payment/insurance issues). I used to hate going to the dentist (ironically, my mom was a dentist), with my sensitive teeth and awful experience with my first root canal slotting me right into the ‘dental chicken’ category, but Dr. Casey has relieved me of all of that anxiety.

I have been waking up with headaches and a sore jaw for months now. I just figured I was sleeping wrong. When I mentioned it to Dr Lau, he determined that I have been grinding my teeth and causing damage to my TMJ (temporomandibular joint). I have been under a lot of stress lately, so it was no surprise to me that I was subconsciously grinding. Well, Dr Lau fitted me with a nightguard, which is a small plastic/rubber mouth piece that fits on my lower teeth when i sleep. It took me a couple of days to get used to, but after that I didn’t even realize it was there. The miraculous thing is that I don’t have any more morning headaches and my jaw doesn’t hurt. Thank you Dr Lau and the amazing team at Mid Valley Dental Care for making me a happier person. (My husband thanks you too!!) Moral of the story…if you are waking up with headaches, you have sore jaws or are not sleeping well at night….Call Dr Lau for a consultation to see if you have what I had. It’s an easy fix and you will be so happy you called. Trust me.

I just wanted to say how pleasant of an experience the Dr’s and staff have made going to the dentist. I have been a patient for over 10 years and had a lot of procedures done. Root canals, implants, fillings and never had to take pain pills on the way home or the next day. Priceless. Well maybe tylenol….but really Going to the dentist has never been something to look forward to but the entire staff do there best to make it as pleasant as possible. Still smiling today and love the taste of a good steak. So thanks to all.

Just had work done by Dr. Casey, I cannot say enough good things about this doctor, I have had bad experience’s with my previous dentist, and was a bit nervous about seeing a new dentist. Dr. Casey made me feel relaxed, his nurse Lisa was a blast, she has a great since of humor and kept the laughter ongoing. I would recommend this office to everyone. Ok, maybe that’s going too far (unless you’re a masochist), but seriously, the doctor and his staff here are all so friendly and warm, you can’t help but feel at ease with them. I just moved to this area so I was concerned I wouldn’t be able to find a dentist I liked as much as my dentist back home. But my worries were for naught once I stepped through the doors. The office is very modern and clean. There’s a huge flat screen TV in the waiting room which was nice. Wendy Williams was on so it’s definitely not a stuffy office by any means. Casual but cool and hip vibe. From Mystery at the front desk, to Imelda my hygienist, to the doctor himself, everyone was extremely professional and competent. I trusted them completely, which does not easily happen for me, as I’ve had many bad experiences with past dentists. Parking is in back of the building and there are metered spaces in front. I’m so happy to have found a great new dentist so easily. The power of Yelp! Give them a try and you won’t be disappointed. And please tell them I said “HOW YOU DOOWEN.” 😀 Note: There’s a negative review on here for a Dr. Afshin Mazdey, but it’s bogus as there’s no doctor by that name who practices here.

Dr. Lau is the best dentist that I’ve ever had. He explains your options if you have to have extensive dental work as I did. My wife and I both come here..now my older kinfolk comes here too. Okay, if you have trauma and PTSD from other dentists, i suggest you thoroughly read my review. this is as real as it gets. I have suffered from traumatic experiences at the dentist, horrible orthodontic services, and dentists who tried every chance they could to pull my adult teeth out. you can imagine how petrified, disgusted, and nervous i am of the dentist. Until, i met Dr. Casey. My sister has been going him for years, and finally when the pain in my teeth was too much, i gave up and said “okay ill go see him” BEST DECISION EVER. I walked into the dentist office for a cleaning and xrays to find out what the trouble is. here’s how you know i am so scared of that chair of doom: i literally cried during my “gentle” cleaning. the x-ray was a whole different ball game. Oh i felt defeated. But the whole time the staff encouraged me and told me every step of the way what they were doing. looking back at it, i was such a baby. so bad news, i needed a root canal and cavities filled- go figure, haven’t gone to the dentist in years. Went in for my root canal yesterday, lasted three hours. But not once did i feel pain or discomfort. Dr. Casey and his assistant (wish i got her name, dang it) made me so comfortable. i didn’t feel a thing! i walked into the office today and people are literally telling me that it doesn’t look like i got a root canal done! SERIOUSLY, cannot find a better doctor&team other than Dr. Casey and his staff. Phenomenal. words don’t describe their passion for helping people like me face their fears. i walked out of the office yesterday dancing after a root canal.

Mid Valley Dental Care is amazing!!!!! First of all the negative reviews I noticed had to do with insurance and billing issues. I’m in the insurance world and majority of the time it’s not the practices fault. The insurance companies can cause many issues. Let’s be honest insurance companies never make things easy. I can’t say more than enough about the dentist here. I have seen both Dr. Casey and Dr. Terry Lau. I’ve never had a dentist educate and explain like they do. The hygienist are filled with helpful information. Go ahead a test them. I did! They are high quality and very educated. You can tell the Dr’s bring in high qualified hygienist. I also noticed complaints about pricing. I had all front 6 of my teeth done; all crowns. They are beautiful and I get compliments constantly. It’s been 7 years since I got them done! It’s high quality work! Trust me I’ve done cheap dental work before and and it’s like anything else you get what you pay for.

I recently had a toothache and needed to find a dentist in a hurry. My insurance provider gave me a list of dentists within a 20 mile radius. I googled each and every one of them, checked reviews, education, even the ranking of their dental schools. (I have seriously bad teeth so I want to make sure whoever is going to be drilling in my mouth knows what they are doing!) The dentists with the most impressive credentials and best reviews were Dr Casey and the other Dr Lau at Mid Valley Dental. I called for an appointment just before end of work day on a Thurs, explained that I was in pain and the nice lady on the phone scheduled me to see Dr Casey the following day. As I expected from reading the reviews, Dr Casey turned out to be absolutely wonderful. He really knows how to put patients at ease. I appreciate that he takes time to explain things. He is gentle and thorough. I am so thankful that I finally found a dentist I can trust. The dental hygienist Ilana and Dr Casey’s assistants were awesome as well.

I made an appointment for a check up for my son and I. I have a fear of the dentist and this was going to be my sons first time seeing a dentist. With that in mind the staff went the extra mile to make this a smooth and easy experience. Dr. Terrence, Dr. Casey, and the entire staff are amazing! I always expect good customer service anywhere I go, but this place went beyond my expectations. I am recommending this place to everyone I know. When you make an appointment you will get a reminder 2 days before via text, email, and phone call. I personally like being reminded of my appointments, simply because I’m pretty sure I’d forget my head if wasn’t attached to my body. Wait time if you have an appointment is about 10-15 min.

Been coming here for the last several years now. A friend from work recommended this place to me when I was looking for a dentist. These guys are awesome and have been nothing but great to me. Like a lot of people I was putting off going to the dentist due to fear from previous experiences. I finally called one morning because the pain was getting worse and I now had a cracked tooth. Julie was so nice on the phone and told me to come right in. I was practically in tears just from walking in (yes, I’m that big of a baby when it comes to the dentist). Dr Casey took the time to sit and talk to me about what I was afraid of, what procedures I needed and how we could get me back. He was so nice and patient that I forgot about being afraid. I’ve now had 2 temporary crowns and a root canal and I can honestly say that I didn’t feel a thing for any of it. Dr Casey has even called to check on me after each procedure. Dr. Casey was a life saver for my oral problems. His work, touch and hand are flawless when it come to dental issues. If you have reoccurring issues this is the place to come. I referred my sister that had a bad root canal done and she had pain for almost 8 months after all her work was done. After Dr. Casey work on her after 1 month she was pain free (when he was done with that tooth). I was late to my appointment…a work meeting ran over, we’ve all been there. I called in thinking that I would have to reschedule my appointment, but they asked me how far away I was (10 minutes) and they told me to come in and they would fit me in anyway. I have my share of teeth problems from minor fills to root canals and Dr Casey has been so patient, professional and thorough with any work that he has done on me. Believe it or not, I have a good time at the dentist. I’ve been going to Mid-Valley Dental for over six years and I have actually come to like going to the dentist. I see Dr. Casey Lau who is knowledgeable, kind, and keeps the pain to the minimal. Dr. Casey (as we affectionately call him) is also a great conversationalist and truly cares about his patients. Mid-Valley Dental offers a full service dental office, that includes everything from routine cleaning to orthodontics, which make it very convenient. The other thing I like is Dr. Casey’s bedside manner. After every major undertaking, i.e., crown or root canal, and I have had a few of them, Dr. Casey will always call me to make sure I am doing ok. The staff is also very nice and courteous. Though I don’t enjoy dental work, since I have to have it done, I am glad I picked Mid-Valley Dental and Dr. Casey Lau to do it.

A friend of mines recommended Mid-Valley Dental care as she was aware i was having issues with another dental group. I must say i am extremely grateful that she did. Upon arrival and meeting with Dr.Casey for my first appointment i knew i was in good hands. Dr.Casey took care of the dental procedures i needed to be done prior to getting Invisalign. When that was done, Specialist Nicki scanned and started me on the road for a better smile using Invisalign. It has been a long road but now that its finished i feel great with my new smile. Had my second appointment at Mid-Valley Dental Care today for a filling. I’ve had a great experience thus far! This office has been my first since starting college 3 years ago, and it had been some time since my last cleaning/checkup. Holly, the wonderful hygienist, was friendly and efficient. She did a really thorough job with my cleaning (and I know she had her work cut out for her!) She found one cavity that Dr. Casey confirmed. I wasn’t all that surprised, though. A bite into some taffy later that week reaffirmed their diagnosis. Ouch! Today I went in for my filling which was surprisingly a pleasant process. I arrived early, Maria at the front desk handled my payment quickly, and was seated in a chair almost immediately. I spoke with (I think her name was Veronica?) while she numbed me, chit chatted with Dr. Casey while it took affect. He gave me another anesthetic via a shot and we were good to go. I didn’t feel a THING the entire procedure. It was great! Even with small talk, I was out of there in like, an hour. What really impressed me was that 5 minutes ago… 8 hours after my filling, Dr. Casey personally called me to make sure everything was feeling OK. I had left his office still super numb, and wasn’t really able to feel my bite, so I’m glad he checked in just in case. The entire staff is extremely personable, and makes you feel at home. Between work and school, I am super busy and I love that no time is wasted here. I’m so glad I chose this office!

“All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth, my two front teeth, my two front teeth” literally. The filling in between my two front teeth fell out and since I don’t have dental insurance, I avoided seeing a dentist for two months until my bf forced me to go. After looking up top rated reviews on yelp, he called various dentist until he could get one with the earliest appt. Dr. Casey is very knowledgeable and didn’t pressure us with any “you have to get x, y, z done”. Instead, he gave various options and explained each option with detailed scenarios about what may happen to your teeth in the long run. He even says something along the lines of “the next dentist you go to” or “your future dentist or I may…” which shows he’s not there to hold onto you and take your money, but wishes the best for you whether if that’s with him or with another dentist. During my first visit, he gave me a free xray of one section of my teeth. Since he didn’t pressure us, we actually had to ask him to have an xray done of my whole mouth after much confusion. Whole mouth xray and cleaning was $89 for new customers. The dental hygienist was friendly and was gentle as possible while scraping off the plaque. That probably doesn’t make sense but after not going to the dentist since 2011 or 2012, I expected it to be painful. Second visit, was when I got my front teeth filling (approximately $250 without insurance). The numbing gel tasted funky, like some kind of herbal root such as ginseng. The anesthesia felt like a deep, deep, DEEP tissue massage into my upper inside lip. When he worked on my filling, it started bleeding because the cavity went into my nerves (don’t remember the medical term for it). As I mentioned in paragraph two, Dr. Casey gave me 2-3 options and how he didn’t want to give me a root canal (even though he could have made a lot of money off of this), because he considered my long term dental health. Dr. Casey reminds you to call him if there are questions and concerns. The staff are nice and friendly. I love how they joke around and speak casually while working. The vibe of the office is somewhere I’d like to work, where everyone is smiling and having a good time while doing what they enjoy doing. What took me by surprise was the day after my teeth filling, I got a call around 9 pm from a number I was not familiar with. Unknown numbers are calls I don’t pick up and if it was an important call, I assume the person would leave a voicemail. I heard the voicemail the next day and it was Dr. Casey checking up on me! He said he was wondering how I was doing and if I had any concerns, to call the office. I’ve never heard anyone tell me, a dentist personally call his/her patients to check up on them.
