I would never ever go to a different dentist. I have been seeing Dr. Joan for at least 8-10 years, as I hate going to the dentist and hate dental work ( they make you super comfortable) and who doesn’t want the most gentle woman dentist in town. They patiently call me when I don’t show up for appts and cleanings…and they really spend the time when they make crowns.
The best dentist in Mpls. Go see Dr. Joan.

This is practice is outstanding. They are excellent dentists and dental assistants. Their equipment is up-to-date. They are fastidious about cleanliness without being overbearing. The atmosphere is warm and friendly without being excessive. The work they do is top-rate and they do not press clients for procedures about which the client is still considering. They communicate very well and give you detailed information about the work they are doing or plan to do.

It’s so hard to find a good dentist. This being my first dentist visit needed since I moved to the area they were fantastic and I will be sticking with them! Very personal and professional! I had chipped my front tooth and half of my tooth was missing, they made my smile look good as new again! Very happy with the results and their pleasant customer service and personal accommodations with anything I needed and very knowledgeable for any questions or concerns I had. Such a great dental office and staff!! They have provided me with top notch care – Dr. Joan Jakubas really cares about her patients and wants the best for us. Also the dental assistants are a pleasure! They frequently ask how you are doing, remember personal life details, and don’t make you feel rushed. I recently moved across the river from Mpls to farmington, I have changed my health care providers to the dakota county area, but I will not change my dental clinic. I used to hate going to the dentist, and now I don’t mind at all! The staff is friendly and caring and when I leave there after a cleaning my mouth doesn’t hurt for a week later – like it did at my last dentist. I’ve been going to Dr. Jakubas since her first office on 42nd & 38th. It has been a pleasure watching her practice grow into her third and present location. I love these people! They listen to their patients needs and concerns. I’ve never felt uncomfortable with the hygienist nor the doctor. The people at the front desk are great communicators and leave you feeling well taking care of on your way out the door. As a person of color I’ve felt uncomfortable and unimportant at nomourus dentistries, but this practice makes certain that they’re patients are treated with the upmost respect.

I must say that all of the staff, from the front office, on back, of course including Dr Jakubas are wonderful. While going to the dentist is never fun, I can honestly say that this is the best experience I have had with a dentist that I have ever had, which in turn makes it far easier (while still not easy, at least for me) to go to the dentist than I have in the past. As always, I am very happy to have Jakubas Dental (now Minnehaha Falls Dental) take care of my “teeth” needs and maintenance. (I’ve lost count of the number of years I have been coming to them. A friend initially recommended them for me). My appointment yesterday was thorough, the hygienist and the dentist were friendly, careful and attentive to my questions. I just started going to Dr. Jakubas when I got dental insurance this year and I was easily won over. Most dentists do the same stuff as far as dentistry goes but the way the office runs can make the experience either enjoyable or a real pain. The Jakubas office has a lot of things going for it: 1) Friendly Staff – Dr. Jakubas, all the receptionists, and the dental hygienists are super friendly, easy-going, and chatty in a way that makes the time go by quickly. 2) Thorough – The receptionists always explains what my insurance will cover along with my options for price breaks. She even helped me schedule my fillings so I would get the most coverage and not pay out-of-pocket. 3) Quality – I overheard Dr. Jakubas and a receptionist talking about some convention they went to about the newest dental equipment and based on the videos they show me on the computer and the tooth x-rays that instantly come up on the screen, it seems to me they have the latest technology to make treatment easy and quick for patients. 4) Fun – The office makes me smile. They have a tooth-shaped pillow that they stick under my head whenever I sit down in the chair. They also have mobiles hanging from the ceiling at the exact location I have to look while getting my teeth cleaned. So far I have enjoyed watching both tiny sailboats and little white birds (Jonathan Livingston Seagull anyone?) softly bob around in the sky. It’s mesmerizing. Today I said I was cold and the hygienist even brought me a cozy blanket to warm me up. I was so snuggly with my blankie and tooth pillow that I took a little morning nap in the chair while they did a filling. Since my insurance kicked in, they have done a great job of getting my mouth in good shape again and it has been an incredibly pain-free process.
