My experience with Mint Dental was above and beyond what I had anticipated it to be. Since I was 4 years old, Ive had extremely traumatic experiences with the Dentist. I had gone to multiple places and each time, was left more traumatized than the previous experience. I am now 19 years old, and before my appointment at Mint Dental, I absolutely dreaded anything Dentistry related. After years of not getting a check up, I was absolutely terrified of anything regarding dental work, but I knew it was crucial to go after losing a cavity filling. I had done some research on local Dentist offices and was really concerned about which one I would choose to drop in at. I visited a couple of dental offices and found that most of them were extremely impolite, had terrible waiting time, and their prices were absolutely ridiculous. Ultimately, I chose Mint Dental after reading their awesome reviews on Yelp. My first meeting was with Dr. Jay, I believe. He made first experience extremely comfortable and was genuinely concerned about one of my teeth, which unfortunately, required a root canal. Of course, I was petrified at the thought of needing a root canal. I had read stories online of people who had had the procedure done, and was completely convinced I would also have a miserable experience. The words “Cavity filings” alone, made me cringe and the thought of a root canal made me panic. I immediately requested Nitrous oxide because there was NO WAY I would deal with a root canal being 100% conscious. However, Dr. Jay was extremely sensitive and understanding of my past traumatic experiences, but still promised me that I would be more than fine with just oral anesthesia alone. He was very sweet and very promising, so I decided to go ahead and have the procedure done. A couple of days later, I went in for my root canal, extremely fearful of what I would soon be experiencing. The day of my root canal, Dr. Mike was the one who would be in charge of my dental work that day. He was extremely friendly and kind and also assured me that I would be perfectly fine through out the entire procedure. He was absolutely right! I felt no pain through out the enture operation. Both Dr. Mike and his assistants were extremely gentle and good-natured. They made me laugh, explained everything that would be done, and regularly stopped and asked if i felt any pain. My root canal was done quickly and pain free! Dr. Mike was awesome! He really changed my perspective about seeing the dentist regularly, and made sure I was at ease through out the whole process. I couldnt have asked for a more fulfilling experience with such a great doctor and friendly assistants. I was extremely delighted with both Dentists, the awesome assistants and even the sweet receptionist who made everything in general, very pleasant. The whole staff made my experience so easy and comfortable! Im beyond ecstatic that I chose Mint Dental! Not only did I survive my dental experience, but I found a place that threw my traumatic past experiences out the door. I got my appointments right away, felt so comfortable every single time, and was beyond satisfied with the service. Thanks Dr. Mike, Dr. Jay & staff for an incredible experience! My family moved to Eagle Rock a few years ago when my husband started working for Paramount so we had no family dentist. When one of my daughters fell and and broke one of her front teeth on a Sunday I researched dentists open on Sundays (hard to find!) and was thrilled that this place is open every Sunday and that it was so close to home. They got us in that afternoon as an emergency. My daughter isn’t the best patient when it comes to the dentist but Dr Jay was so nice and gentle, she did awesome. My family and I have been going here ever since and the girls now even look forward to their dental visits. My husband finds it very convenient that he can make his appointments on Sundays and does not have to miss work during the week. Everyone is very nice and helpful, the office is very clean and modern, and uses the latest technology. I have had visits with both Dr Jay and Dr Mike and they are the best! Highly recommend.

This clinic does an impressive job taking excellent care of me and my family’s dental needs. First, Dr (s) Jay and Mike are very knowledgeable, their hands are super “feather light”, they give quality dental works and they are both very friendly. Second, the staff are just as friendly and accommodating. Third, the clinic is clean and it smells good and last, there is enough parking space for patients and street parking is also available. The receptionists are all very accomodating and professional. They call you to remind you of your appointment and they’re always really friendly. All the dentists are great! Dr Jay especially. They tell you exactly what needs to be done with your teeth and make sure they follow through. My son went here for his first checkup and cleaning and it went very well, he wasn’t scared at all.

With new insurance, I needed to get a new dentist and found Mint Dental on Yelp considering its proximity to my house. Firstly, their hours and days of availability are more liberal and convenient than most other dentists I looked at, especially for people who have long hours. Secondly, I was told that they take most PPO dental insurance plans, so it seems accommodating. Booking my appointment was very easy and they were quite flexible, especially when I requested to change it quite a few times (I’m sorry!!). The nice thing about this place is that there are two dentists (who are also brothers), so I was able to book an appointment for my boyfriend and myself at the same time. As a new patient, be sure to allot some time to finish your initial paperwork. I was about 5 minutes into filling out my paperwork when I was called, so I liked that there was minimal wait time. Immediately after I finished my paperwork, they got started with my cleaning. Cleaning usually hurts, but they were very aware and cognizant to ask if I had any sensitive spots prior to cleaning. Additionally, I liked that they went through my x-rays with me and explained very thoroughly the complications I had and what work was needed to prevent it from getting worse. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my experience here and look forward to coming back in the future!

Dr. Jay for life! I’m a long time procrastinator and down right fool when it comes to my dental needs. The team really took care of me today. Unlike any office visit I’ve ever had. The moment that made me pause and realize I’d actually be back for a check-up and perhaps onto the road to my dental health was when they asked what pharmacy they could call and have ready my prescription for me to go pick up. Well, the squad over at Mint Dental does their best to make sure that the whole process is as efficient as possible…making going to a dentist not so bad after all. Found this place on a Sunday because the wife needed some work done, stat! So Mary Tess (front desk) squeezed us in last minute and we’re so thankful she did. The front office staff is absolutely wonderful, btw. Super friendly and always smiling…showing off their pearly whites. Wife saw Dr. Ignacio, aka Dr. J, and he was fantastic. Precision work, and he was very caring. That’s another thing we look for in dentist, empathy. He made sure she felt comfortable THROUGHOUT the entire procedure. She had a complicated procedure but he did exceedingly great work. The entire office, treatment rooms, and even bathroom, are pristine. That’s a huge deal for a germaphobe like me.All the reviews on here are true. This place deserves 10 stars, but Yelp limits us to 5…so there you go.

Best dentist I have ever been to. Plus, guess who I met in the lobby during one of my visits…Juice from Sons of Anarchy! One of my all time favorite TV shows. Turns out he’s been a patient here for a few years, so awesome I got to meet him at the dentist! Back to my review… My whole family comes here. When my daughter broke a tooth and they fixed her up without any tears, I was convinced I should let them work on me, dental phobic and all. Dr Jay worked on my crown that was done by my previous dentist in Beverly Hills. It was only done a year ago, but it broke and fell out. It always never felt right so I wasn’t surprised. Now it feels perfect, the procedures were painless and easy. My cleanings are always very thorough and painless. I am able to make Sunday appointments so I don’t have to miss work during the week. These guys do excellent quality work and I have complete confidence in their abilities. They have cured me of my dental phobia.

Going to the dentist was always hard for me. I would avoid it like the plague! It had always been a bad experience wherever I went. Pain, pain and more pain–until I visited Mint Dental. Dr. Jay and Dr. Michael are beyond awesome when it comes down to their practice. They are efficient, knowledgable and full of great advise. Very personable, too. I’ve had quite of bit of work and done at Mint, and each time it’s been painless and done with such care that I’ve recommended my family and friends to Dr. Jay and Michael. Something that I rarely do, unless I have total faith in the people,staff and their work. The office is super clean and smells wonderful. I’m a little jealous my house doesn’t smell like Mint Dental, but oh well, life goes on. The staff is super courteous and is always willing to work around my busy schedule. My wife referred me to Mint Dental after she went for a check-up, and was treated with such gentle professionalism. I set an appointment and went in for a cleaning and later some fillings, and I was very pleased with their service. They have a very modern, but comfortable office in Eagle Rock, but their strength is by far their people. Everyone is gentle, informative every step of the way, considerate, and super kind. I absolutely LOVE the dentists here at Mint Dental! Dr. Jay and Dr. Mike are patient, kind, and very good with kids! The entire family goes here now! I had the worst experience with my sons first dentist and they have mended his fear! I really should say that the ENTIRE staff is superior and I love Mrs. Edith! She always consults with us and helps to make things work seamlessly. She is very honest and direct about what’s going on and super willing to work with patients if necessary. Cheryl is also a dental assistant that is wonderful with patients and a major right hand to the dentists! It’s super clean, great ambiance, movies on the screen if you want, and they kids get a toy after their appointment. Love their family vibe. Being very picky and really not enjoying the hours I have spent in a dentist’s chair I am happy to say the Dr. Jay and the whole staff at Mint Dental are amazing! All of his equipment is the latest technology, he thoroughly explains each process and really takes his time. Regarding the other reviews that speak about the cost. Especially the one from Dinah commenting that the “crowns” were too expensive for a small dental office. Well, it is obvious that Dinah doesn’t realize that crowns are expensive, whether you get them in Beverly Hills or Eagle Rock. I have nothing but great things to say about Mint Dental, from the office staff to the Doctors. I am so happy to finally have a dental office that I love.

I’m very happy to report — 2 for 2 Mint Dental is MINT. I went back 6 months later for another cleaning yesterday and emerged a new woman. I suppose I brush a lot and enjoy flossing because it gives me, ahem. . .a sense of accomplishment, so I’m not quite in the same category as some of the folks in these reviews who seem upset about the serious dental work they were getting quotes for. . .I can only speak for myself. Dr. Jay and his sonic-care methods are comfortable and pleasant and effective on those hard to reach places that toothbrushes can’t quite tackle. He’s an advocate of keeping your teeth for life through good maintenance. Highly recommend!

All time greatest dental experience EVER! Dr. Jay was very sweet, gentle and reassuring from the initial consultation and through both appointments. I had not been to the dentist in many years due to two pregnancies and nursing. I really needed work from neglect and I was scared and he made sure my anxiety issue would be resolved… and it was with a little medication. It worked. I had five cavities filled and one leaky bond (on the front tooth that could’ve been a cosmetic disaster if not correctly handled). My fiancé was in so much pain and needed his tooth extracted. Thankfully they were open on a Sunday. His appointment wasn’t until 4 and at 11 we went in there because he couldn’t handle the pain . They had no problem with us coming in early and put him in right away. I have been coming into Mint Dental for a few years now to get my regular check-ups so I have been familiar with Dr. Jay Ignacio. Most recently I have been “on the chair” with Dr. Michael Ignacio. I have learned that both dentists are wonderful. They are gentle with my mouth/teeth and aren’t creepy at all. They also hire great hygienists. The office is beautiful and very clean. I’ve had my young son sit in for a check-up and cleaning. This place is FANTASTIC WITH KIDS! My review points now to my most recent experience with Mint Dental – having INVISALGN to straighten my teeth that have been moving out of line due to me having lost my retainers. :/ Invisalign is designed for a regular (every other week) check-in so the dentist can check on the status of your current tray (retainer-type plastic mouth-piece you put over your teeth). The problem was, I travel a lot and rarely made it to my every-other week appointment. The dentists understood my situation and worked with me anyway because I wanted to get Invisalgn done. When I was out of the country and had to replace my bondings, the dentists worked with me to make sure the dentist in the country I was in could replace my bondings the right way. So far, so good… I’m on my way to beautiful straight teeth. 🙂 I have been so pleased and impressed with the professionals at Mint Dental! If you’re looking for a good dentist in the Los Angeles/Eagle Rock/Glendale area, look no further and check out this office!

I can’t say enough good things about this place! I was working through the weekend in downtown and broke my tooth while eating a grilled cheese! It was probably rotting because i hadn’t been to the dentist in years lol. I was in so much pain so I was so glad I found this place open on a sunday. When I called they fit me in within the next 2 hours. When I got there even though the waiting room was pretty full, they got me back pretty quickly. I ended up needing a root canal and crown on my tooth and I freaked out cause I had one root canal before and it was so painful. This time around, I didn’t feel a thing! Painless root canal, i was so shocked when the doctor said he was done. My next visit they put the crown in and I was worried it would look funny cause it’s by the front, but it looks so natural and real that my girlfriend can’t even tell and she’s so picky and vain! Okay why am I doing an update review? Was it because things turned bad?!?!NOPE!!! STILL AWESOME!!!!! Over 7 years of great work! I have kids now (Daughter 6 and son 4). And now my whole fam comes here. As I’m watching my baby girl get her teeth taken care of I’m so impressed about how gentle and calming The Dentists are!!! My daughter has a fear of the dentist due to a difficult prior experience but this place is so soothing that her anxiety has really subsided. This place is a blessing hidden in Eagle Rock. Having a dentist open on a sunday is a miracle! I am so grateful and thankful they were able to see me immediately, help me with my tooth pain and save my teeth.I knew I had to work on some filling on my molars, but today I woke up in a lot of pain. I didn’t know what to do and didn’t want to wait one more day, because I knew the more I waited, the worst it could get.I found Mint Dental on yelp so I just walked in. Everyone was so nice and empathetic to my situation. They were able to see me right away, even though I didn’t have an appointmen, am a new patient and they were busy. Art was so kind to me, sending me positive vibes. Doctor Jay was super focused and talented who was able to save not only one, but two teeth that had decay on it. I bet that other doctors would say that I needed two root canals, but the doctor cleaned up all of the decay and restored the tooth with two partial crowns, which I believe to be the best treatment.I just got home from this “adventure ” and I was so scared that once the anesthesia would wear off, I would be in crazy amount of pain. Facts are that I am just laying on my sofa, the anesthesia is fading away and I feel absolutely nothing. No pain. Just a sense of gratitude for having find this lovely, talented team of doctors/ assistants/ people that took their time this morning to help me and save two of my teeth.THANK YOU SO MUCH.

I cannot thank Dr Jay and his team enough for helping me out as a new patient on a Friday night for an emergency filling! Part of my molar broke and I called his office just after 6pm and his staff told me to hustle in. When I arrived I was greeted warmly and filled out my new patient information, his team member was even able to confirm my insurance before any work was done! I have a past history of dental trauma and dental visits always cause anxiety, especially with new to me dentists. Dr Jay immediately put me at ease with his calm and caring demeanor, he appreciated me explaining my past dental trauma and knew exactly how to communicate with me to make me feel safe. He did an x-ray, took photos, explained 2 options and allowed me to decide on a permanent filling to get me through my week long work trip and beyond. It has now been close to two weeks since my filling and I have had zero problems. Through every step, he explained what he was doing, he was gentle and patient, as were his staff who stayed late to get me sorted. I cannot recommend Dr Jay enough, thank you so much for your kindness and quality care and work!

Mint Dental is the best dental office I’ve been to. Here’s why… (I’ll organize from the moment you walk in) Pros: * ambiance, design, and decor: This office is very inviting. The decor and design is modern, it smells good… and reminds me of a spa as opposed to a sterile dental office. * waiting area: Clean, comfortable seats, a variety of the latest magazines available on the wall. * front desk/office staff/support staff: very friendly, helpful, clear and quick to answer questions or concerns. * wait time: They do a good job at getting you in and seated pretty quickly. Usually the wait in the front is no more than 5 minutes. There have been times when I’m called in the moment I get to my seat in the waiting area. Once you’re seated inside, Dr. Jay or Dr. Mike come and speak to you within 5-10 minutes. * Dr. Jay I agree with the other reviews, the docs are awesome and it doesn’t really matter who comes to see you. Honestly, I can’t really tell most of the time who is who. They have great bedside manner, very knowledgeable, and the service is comfortable (as comfortable dental work can be) and thorough. * They seem to have the latest technology. * If you like poke or macaron ice cream sandwiches, there’s a restaurant a couple of doors down. (I know this has nothing to do with dentistry, but might be an important detail to include for someone out there!) Cons * There’s not a lot of parking inside the plaza and the spaces are tight. They do have a few spaces specifically for Mint Dental. Street parking is available nearby.

Once I entered mint dental I was greeted by Sheryl who is very polite and helpful with any questions I had. I like how this dentist is a family business and Both Dr. Jay is very professional and do a lot to make their patients feel comfortable. It is very hard to find a great dentist. I’ve been all over the place and have NEVER lasted more than a year with one particular dental office. That is, until I found Mint Dental! Dr. Jay and Dr. Mike are the best! And I know a good dentist because I’ve had a lot of work done for someone that’s only 21 (ok, maybe I’m just a tad bit more than 21 ). They’re always attentive to your needs and are never in a rush to move on to the next patient. They answer all your questions and address all your concerns. From the front desk with Sheryl to the dentist Dr.Jay you won’t be disappointed. I have to say that I have never been fond of that drilling sound at the dentist but since coming here with Dr Jay & Dr. Mike I enjoy coming to the dentist. I’ve had the best experience here & they have done wonders in working with me with my Invisalign. I’m coming up on 1 year with my braces & im so thrilled with the results already. My daughter has always been afraid of the dentist as well & she now looks forward to her cleanings. The Dr.’s & the staff have all been great & I always recommend this place to whomever I can. If you are looking for a clean, great smelling, friendly & great dentist office then this is the place for you.

I chipped my tooth this morning. In a panic I was researching for a dentist that was open on a Sunday and they were! That gave them their first star. I called and the front desk lady was very quick at getting me in today. I called at 10:30 am and I got an appointment for 12:30pm, 2nd star. When I arrived, the front desk lady, also known as Andy was very warm and inviting. She was easy to talk to and gave me all my paperwork to fill out with no pressure and no unnecessary repetitive questions. She did not rush me but made casual conversation. The wait was a usual wait, as most medical places are, nothing out of the ordinary. 3rd star achieved. Finally, the doctor, who is easy on the eyes, took me in and asked me why I had come in and listened patiently. (I usually compare dentists to mechanics. They listen to you but end up finding a bunch of other issues with your car that needs fixing and you’re not there for those reasons, but just one, and all of a sudden you’re facing a ton of things to fix and you may not be ready for it.) Hence, Dr. Jay did the exact opposite. He was concerned about my issue at hand and did inform me that I would eventually need to have a thorough exam, which I will be doing with them soon. I had one X-ray on the chipped tooth, he explained to me exactly what was going to be done and then I was given the payment breakdown. That was star 4, because some dentists do all the work and when you’re about to leave they drop the price and some times it leaves people bewildered and upset with no forewarning of how expensive some procedures do cost. Not this place. I was given the cost by Andy left. Then my doctor came back in to see if I was comfortable to go ahead with my quote and of course I was because it was absolutely reasonable. Star 5 was reached when the doctor and his tech started working on my tooth. first of all he was extremely gentle. He explained every single thing he was doing as he was doing it. He was a perfectionist and took his time. I cannot explain how gentle he was. I usually dread the shot for the numbing and he was so patient and soft with it that I barely felt the needle prick my gum. Once he had finished, he examined my tooth and made two adjustments to make it look perfect. Which proved to me once again, he actually cares and enjoys what he is doing, rather then another “customer” and not patient. I have never walked out of a dentist’s office smiling and looking forward to returning. My family and I have been researching for dentists in this area and I am so glad I found them. We will all be their patients.

These days, I actually look forward to going to the dentist…The Ignacio brothers are the best. Having them as our family dentist has been a wonderful experience. They explain what they are going to do and they take the time to ask if we have any questions or concerns. The entire staff is very professional, very friendly and very kind!!! Being an Operating Room Nurse, cleanliness and sterile instrumentation are extremely important to me!!! This entire office is meticulously clean which gives me great comfort!!! They are even open on Sundays, which is fantastic as I work Monday – Friday making it difficult for me to take time off during the week. They are very flexible with scheduling and I really have appreciated this. 5 STARS to MINT DENTAL in EAGLE ROCK!!!
