My husband and I have been going to Mint Dental Works for several years and find all personnel to be very professional and easy to work with.  We feel the level of expertise in the office is well above average.  This includes the dental hygienists as well as the dentists.  A major advantage of this office is that getting a crown is a one visit experience.  No waiting with a temporary crown, which often comes loose.  Dr. MacMillan is so patient and very well informed.  He is willing to spend as much time as needed and never appears to be rushed.  We feel very satisfied with this office.

We are a family of 6, with kids aging from 6-15, and our experience has been wonderful with Mint.   The staff is great, very professional and friendly in every way .  The quality of the dental care has been amazing, and we’ve been impressed with how thorough the preventative care is, and how any issue has been met with the most up to date approach in dentistry.  We’ve had previous dentists who were very set in “their” way of doing things, but we really felt like at Mint Dental they valued continuing education in all the areas of dentistry, so the techniques and procedures felt cutting edge.  Highly recommend!l

I’m one of those people who has never really minded going to the dentist but wouldn’t say it’s one of my favorite things to do either. Well, who knew that I could change my mind and find that going to the dentist was the highlight of my day!!! From the warm, friendly greeting at the door to the massage chair and warm neck wrap, I felt as though I were at a spa and not at the dentist’s office. The office is light and airy and you can tell they have put much thought into the patient’s comfort. I had gone to my previous dentist for over 20 yrs. and wasn’t sure what to expect with the change. Boy, have I been missing out. They had state of the art equipment that I had never seen before and helped make the exam so easy. The staff were all so warm and kind and Dr. Miller took time to explain everything he was doing. Other than a dentist, who knew your teeth looked like that up close? Sure made me see where I wasn’t brushing 🙂 I’ve been told that I will even get to watch a movie while they work on my teeth at the next visit! If you’ve got to have work done, this is the way to do it. Run….run to Mint Dental Works. You won’t be sorry.

I have been searching for a new dentist for over a year and had a bad experience with someone else before finding Mint. Everything about my experience was the BEST! From the dental assistant Krista to the check-out process and billing review with Scarlett, although I am not sure if I spelled her name right and I was surprised that she is not on the website staff page. Also, the wonderful hygienist is not on the page either. I think her name was Veronica? All of the staff including of course Dr. Macmillan were competent, calm, caring and generous with their time with me. I have quite a bit of anxiety with dentists and this team put me at ease. They made me feel welcome and let me ask my questions without making me feel rushed. Other dentists have not done this. I have not had any work done yet, just an exam and evaluation, but I can say, without a doubt, that I fell confident and relaxed about moving forward with Mint!

We, my spouse and I, have been Mint Dental Works patients from the beginning of time. That wouldn’t be the case if this wasn’t a wonderful experience all around. Crazy maybe, but the ambiance of the place makes a difference….modern, yet so tastefully decorated that it gives the feeling that these folks care about the patient’s experience. Friendly and welcoming space and people. And music and video to overcome any anxiety about a dentist visit. We actually LIKE coming to Mint Dental! Fancy that. But the treatment is what matters in the long run, and Dr. McMillan and the staff couldn’t be more professional. Several difficult situations have been handled with total professionalism and care, and that Dr. McMillan is one amazing perfectionist, that’s for sure. Plus the array of modern equipment, like making perfect crowns on site, usually in one visit, says that these folks value both quality and efficiency. I read a comment about pushing people into treatment that might not have been needed. (I think that was due to an associate who is no longer affiliated with Mint.). Never happened with us! Sure, cleanings might identify some trouble spots, and those will be documented, and follow up appointments to address those issues are available. But the patient is always in control. And the business folks at Mint have been totally accommodating to manage our appointments and payments to work for us. Pressure? No way! Hope this helps newcomers decide to try Mint Dental, and see if you, too, won’t completely change your mind about what a trip to the dentist can be. Be prepared to smile in your way out the door, humming one of the tunes you heard during your visit. Oh, and getting something fixed to perfection!

This is an outstanding dental practice. They have all of the latest technology in-house and are the most knowledgeable team of professionals in the dental industry in the Portland area. The clinic is well appointed and comfortable. The staff is very friendly. My entire family goes to see Dr McMillan. I have also recommended Mint to many friends and they always have a good experience.

Never liked going to the dentist (who does), but this place get’s me as close as possible to liking going to the dentist. They’re incredibly nice here and absolute experts at what they do. Recently, I chipped my front tooth and they fit me in the very next morning and repaired it. It looks like nothing ever happened now! I’m kind of amazed! Also, they accept Care Credit here, which is great for me because I don’t have insurance. Definitely recommend Mint!

What a great dental practice! Lovely space, nice friendly people, and the dentist himself was very informative and up to date with technology and clinical knowledge. And the massage chair and warm neck rest during the cleaning was a real help in relaxing. I would recommend them to anyone!

They have always been good to me here. Friendly and helpful staff who are happy to explain what the hell they are doing in your mouth. The dentist is sweet and warm and good at what he does. They aren’t trying to up-sell you on any thing or use fear tactics: “you need dentures/ a bridge/ a crown, etc” if there is no need. In fact- the last time I was in I walked with a clean bill of health! Aww yeaa. The building is beautiful and LED certified. The place is clean and cozy AND the dentist chairs are also massage chairs. Yes that is what I said. They offer you a buckwheat and lavender heated neck pillow to relax you and I am not even kidding. They even have an array of movies to choose from provided you are in there for the long haul. Go for it!

I’ve had nothing but positive experiences here at Mint. The staff is always friendly, professional, and helpful. The location is very conveniently located on SE Morrison, and has parking right out front. When you walk inside and see how fresh, clean, open and cutely decorated this dentists office is, you forget that you’re (sadly) only there to get your teeth worked on, which is most cases is no fun. However, Mint offers you a variety of DVD’s that you can watch while you have your appointment! I got to watch Planet Earth while I had my filling, and I was amazed at how quickly the time went by. I cannot say enough how pleased I am to have found Mint Dental Works, and I recommend to everyone!

I’m a fan! I have been a patient since Dr. McMillan opened his first practice on NE Glisan. That was many years ago. During my time with him he has given me a smile much nicer than the one I had. The removal of a baby tooth, with no permanent one to be found, and some lovely veneers have been great. In my older years I have become more stressed durning longer procedures, and he has patiently worked with me to relieve my anxiety. I also appreciate that the office has a strong ethic and does everything possible to be environmentally friendly.

I’m not one for writing reviews, but as a patient of Mint Dental Works of nearly 8 years I thought I should share what a great experience I’ve had there.  The staff, doctors and office environment are really welcoming.  I appreciate that I’ve NEVER felt pushed into getting work done.  When something is spotted that is concerning, the doctor will put a watch on it until they feel it is absolutely necessary to schedule treatment.  I’ve recently had a crown and really was so relieved that all the work was done at the same appointment which I know isn’t the case in many dental offices.  I highly recommend!

My family and I have been going here for a few years and have always had a good experience.   I like that the office makes a lot of effort to be environmentally friendly, it’s one of the main reason I chose this place.  I also appreciate that they use digital xrays which are much less radiation than standard xrays.   The hygienists and dentists we’ve seen have always been friendly and come across as being concerned about your experience.   Also love the heated neck pillows, so relaxing.

Mint has the nicest and most thoroughly professional staff ever. They are super respectful of my intelligence and tell me problems or potential issues they see (small cavities or cracks), but don’t pressure me to take care of expensive things right away. After many years with them my teeth and gums are now in great shape. It’s also a very pleasant space and I love the warm neck thingies and being able to watch Netflix during fillings 🙂

Love this place! I just had a cleaning and a checkup this morning and wanted to share my experience. Started off with a cup of tea, in the well appointed waiting room. This is not your typical sterile boring dentist office, it is well designed and comfortable, I instantly felt relaxed and catered to. I was then led to the back and presented with a warm pillow for my neck and a massage chair. The cleaning was meticulous and precise, she took her time and I felt like she really cared about the health of my teeth and gums. I then met with Dr. Mcmillian who did a thorough exam and fitted me with a retainer to adjust my bite, he does most of dental lab stuff in house so the turn around is quick….highly recommend!

I recently broke a tooth and have only been in the Portland area a short time. I found Mint dental on Yelp and I decided to give them a try. I am so glad I did! I ended up needing a crown and luckily for me, they do that in house so there was no need for a two appointment  saga. They are so focused on your comfort there it is amazing. Right when I get there they gave me a heated neck pillow to help relax me. I get really nervous going to the dentist so I really appreciated that. They also have a big screen so you can watch Netflix while they are working on you which also takes your mind off things. Both Dr. Mcmillan and Dr. Justice were great! So professional and personable. I had literally NO pain at all during my filling and crown procedure. I was also happy that no other items were tried to be ‘upsold’ to me. I will be recommending this office to everyone I know who needs a dentist. I had a positive with everyone I worked with, the front desk staff, the dental assistants, everybody. I actually look forward to going in for a cleaning, now THAT is saying something!

I’ve been going here for over 5 years and really appreciate how friendly and thoughtful the staff are. I’m fairly old and they’ve been great about telling me what they see on the horizon (small cavities or cracks) without any pressure to take care of expensive things right away, and they’re really helpful about figuring out what my insurance will cover. I get things done when I can afford it and they’re always really cool about that, so my teeth are in great shape now. Also I love the warm neck pillows and being able to watch Netflix during fillings!

I just recently moved to Portland and Mint Dental has been by far the best experience with any medical related business. The facility is bright and clean and the staff  are extremely friendly, helpful, and responsive. Most importantly, they are very careful to verify insurance coverage and communicate costs up front (compared to a different clinic that sent blood work to an out-of-network lab without asking). Happily recommend to anyone.

If you have dental anxiety, this is place for you. I’ve been going to Dr. McMillan for the past 10 years, even before he moved into the new Mint Dental Works building. He and his staff have always provided top notch dental care – I have no complaints whatsoever. They provide warm neck pillows and massaging chairs on request; and the building is bright, modern, and comforting. My last few visits I’ve been seen by Dr. Delong instead of Dr. McMillan. I have only needed routine cleanings the past few years, but today I needed a filling repair. Despite my initial bout of nerves, Dr. Delong made me feel completely at ease. He recognized my anxieties and talked me through each step. His assistant Anna was also very helpful in explaining the process. The procedure itself was efficient and relatively pain free, except for a bit of discomfort during the initial anesthesia shot. Bonus: the filling itself is imperceivable from my actual tooth. I would highly recommend Mint Dental Works to any friends or family.

I’ve have had the good fortune of having Dr. McMillan as my dentist for many years. He has performed a number of dental procedures for me, including a root canal and an implant. Everything turned out great! Like me, I’m sure nobody is a fan of going to the dentist, but if you must go, go to Mint Dental in SE Portland. And… they have a very friendly staff!

In my most recent visit to Mint, I came in to have three wisdom teeth extracted. After a highly traumatic experience with an extraction a few years ago at a clinic I’ll not name here, I was a little concerned about feeling the procedure despite local anesthetics. I’ve been coming to MDW ever since and can fully put my trust in having a comfortable and humane experience. They gladly put me on gas, and I got to watch a Louis c.k. Stand up special on Netflix, which killed most of the time it took to extract all three teeth. I was laughing so hard and maniacally throughout the experience, I even brought my dental assistant to tears along with me. One could say the whole experience was a gas. I’ve been coming to mint for a few years now for all my dental procedures. This is the first dental office I’ve been to that I confidently look forward to visiting, every time. The staff are friendly and communicative, putting me at ease and keeping me informed and included throughout my procedures. Growing up in Portland, I’ve been to at least half a dozen dentists, and Mint Dental blows all the others away.
