This is the first time I’ve ever felt compelled to leave a review. Dr Demesa and the rest of the office are so incredibly friendly and welcoming. I hadn’t been to the dentist in many years before coming in, I was anxious about going but so happy to have found this practice and so close to where I work. Dr Demesa makes coming to the dentist the most enjoyable experience it can be.

This place is top notch. Excellent synergy and coordination between staff, hygienists and Doctors Mak & Klieger. The doctors gave great interpersonal skills and I always leave well-informed and confident that I’ve received the most professional treatment.

Jennifer and Dr. De Mesa are excellent. I went for a second opinion and was relieved I did not need to have an expensive and unnecessary deep cleaning that was suggested by a local dentist. Their location is nearly an hour from me, but I have come back twice due to their proficient and reliable practice. I’ll be sticking with them.

This is hands down the best dentist I’ve ever been to. I’ve bounced around a lot in last 20 years (army and corporate life) and have been lucky to have some great dentists, but these guys (and their staff) are by far the best. Complete experts in their field grants me the confidence I need in others doing such important work on me, and total professionals in the way they go about it. Whether you new to LA, or just need a dental reboot–these are your people!!! They are so pleasant and down-to-earth, at this point I consider them friends, and gladly drive all the way from Studio City just to keep them as my dentists.

Have I not rated my dentist!!? I highly recommend MKD Dentistry. I’m probably one of the few people who likes going to the dentist. Perhaps it’s because I’ve never had cavities or drilling or the like, so I haven’t had traumatizing experiences. But I have had deep scaling, regular cleanings, and a tooth pulled. I really love Dr. DeMesa, who I followed from his previous office in Pasadena. Dr. DeMesa is super patient with me even though I don’t do most of what he tells me to do. He has a gentle demeanor, but can be tough when he tells you plainly what you need to do to take care of your teeth. Plus, he’s fine with my looking over his shoulder and trying to analyze and interpret my xrays… What is that? Oh that’s normal.. And what is that? I may be the only one who likes a report card for their teeth whenever they do measurements at annual check ups… Can I have a print out of my numbers? Ummm sure… He remembers me each time (probably because I’m a weirdo at the dentist) and is always friendly and nice. The office itself has a good vibe. It’s on the 5th floor of the Pac Mutual Building (the one with the Starbucks on the corner)… and is conveniently located (to me anyway because I can walk from work on my lunch break). Each seat faces a floor to ceiling window so you have nice lighting, it feels open, and has a nice view. If you have to go to the dentist, go to this one.

Nobody likes going to the dentist, but i like going here. There’s usually no wait and they do their thing quick and hassle free, without trying to upsell you. Only stuff that’s necessary. You can tell everyone is well trained and experienced in all situations. I wish they did root canals at their office though, instead of referring you to another place.

I went for my first visit with Dr. DeMesa and was super happy! The staff were helpful and the location is convenient since I work downtown. Scheduled my next 6 month appointment so I’ll be back soon!

I got a groupon for a $45 exam, cleaning, and x-rays. I went in yesterday for my exam and x-rays and had the best experience! The whole staff was really nice and the dentist explained the x-rays in detail – and he didn’t try to sell me any services that were necessary! The office is really nice as well. I highly recommend!

Awesome. I was recommended to this office by a friend and I was not disappointed. Dr. De Mesa even did the teeth cleaning himself – which has NEVER happened for me since I was a kid, it’s always been a dental hygenist! I’m so glad I found this office. The office was clean with a convenient DTLA location, and staff was pleasant, helpful, and well informed.

The entire staff was friendly, kind, and gentle when working on my teeth. From the front of the house to the dentist and hygienist. I felt comfortable with my experience here so far as a first time patient. I’m due for another visit soon, I look forward to the same experience again!

Dr. DeMesa and his staff are fantastic. Dr. DeMesa is extremely knowledgeable and is the most personable dentist I have ever had. His staff is also very welcoming and helpful. Dr. DeMesa does a great job of explaining his procedures and an even better job of getting you to really want to take better care of your teeth. As someone who used to hate going to the dentist, I can’t recommend Dr. DeMesa enough.

I don’t like going to the dentist. My first dentist had a terrible personality/bedside manner, and he didn’t really seem to care about what I did with my teeth. He was such a drag, that I dreaded seeing him. My last dentist was very pushy — she started out nice but then would scold me, always tried to make me feel like I had committed a crime for not flossing enough, and tried to freak me out about the perils of gingivitis. I get it, but calm down. No need for extra dramatics when going to the dentist! Plus, she got into this bad habit of charging for things my insurance didn’t cover and had all these hidden costs. Way too much drama. But… she was in downtown near my office – so convenient, that I just stuck with her for a few years and tried to ignore her dramatics. BAD DECISION. I stopped going regularly and of course, my smile suffered. So, when MKD Dentistry recently opened in downtown L.A., I thought I’d give it a try. Fresh start, if you will. BEST DECISION EVER! The doctors/dentists are ALL from USC, and apparently they’ve been practicing together for years, but they’ve just opened this brand-new office/practice downtown (and even closer to my office near Pershing Square!), so I scheduled a cleaning. THANK GOD! I’ve definitely now found my new dental office, and I actually am looking forward to my return in six months. (I can’t believe I suffered for so long w/the last dentist.) BEST THINGS ABOUT MKD: The entire staff is friendly, prompt, and thorough — no attitudes, no weirdness about dental insurance (they take MetLife Dental, which is what I have, and seem to take all others), and they try to explain everything very clearly up front, so you’re not surprised by costs or services. The office space is modern, high-tech and pristine — in fact, there’s no paperwork — it’s all digital and super easy. There’s a very impressive patient tech station in the lobby, and you just login and type your info — so easy. And lastly, of course, the dentist I saw, Dr. DeMesa, is GREAT. Cool guy. He has such a friendly personality, seems really knowledgeable and isn’t pushy at all. He seems to genuinely care about his patients and just helping you do what’s best for your teeth. Great manner about him. I also was surprised that he (the actual dentist) cleaned my teeth at this very first visit together, and didn’t just hand me off to a hygienist. I wouldn’t have minded but talk about quality professional service! If you work downtown, don’t waste your time anywhere else. I’ve lived in downtown for years, have been to four different dentists in the area, and MKD really is a cut above the rest. Easy to get here, easy to get your teeth cleaned on a lunch break. Plus, there’s an awesome view of the city from your dental chair and nice music playing in the background. Couldn’t have imagined a better visit. So, don’t procrastinate — book your cleaning now w/MKD! Your teeth will thank me.
