I went in because I had a wisdom tooth coming in and all dentist were closed during COVID-19. It had been over 5 years since my last dental appointment. Alexies, Rudy, and Dr Mak have my praise! The entire team is frequently and professional! They ensured I received all the care I needed with detailed explanations over everything! All procedures to this point ( multiple fillings, and a deep clean) have been virtually painless and very pleasant experiences! 17/10 would recommend!!!

Very modern, clean, professional dental office. I feel very comfortable with their care. Certainly, there are dental procedures that are accompanied with some pain, but they strive to minimize the pain and discomfort that come from visiting a dentist. Dr. Mak is my all time favorite dentist. I found this place on yelp a few years ago, and my husband and I decided to check it out. We both had excellent experiences. Their staff is friendly, thorough, and super gentle with my teeth. The office is organized, efficient, and really helpful. You get the sense that the doctors are honest, and not trying to rip you off. So, my insurance changed and I had to go to a different dentist. Let’s just say that didn’t last long. We were okay paying a little extra for a great dentist. I had a couple cavities taken care of, and Dr. Mak and his staff are seriously pros. I was really nervous, but they talked me through every, and were always super considerate of how I was feeling. Five stars all the way!

I haven’t been to the dentist in seven years. My teeth are very sensitive, and the last cleaning I had at my previous dentist was so uncomfortable, that I quit going. Finally, I decided to make an appt with Dr. Mak. After x-rays and an exam, it was pretty obvious I needed a deep clean to remove seven years of buildup. Dr. Mak explained everything very clearly to let me know my options. I let him know that I was apprehensive about the pain given my very sensitive teeth. On the day of the deep clean appt, Dr. Mak did a fantastic job of getting me numbed up, so that I didn’t feel anything at all. Already, I can tell a definite improvement in my gum health. I go in next week to have the other half of my mouth deep cleaned. Given how smooth and painless the first half was, all of my fear of the dentist is gone. Thanks Dr. Mak!

I just went in and saw Dr. Mak for a same day root-canal and it just confirmed that all 3 dentists here are spectacular. One of my colleagues saw Dr. Klieger and said he was phenomonal as well. Dr. Mak laid out all of my options, didn’t pressure me into a decision, then carefully laid out exactly what he was going to do. He was so great with the shots that i didn’t even feel them. He does the shots slow so that they are not painful at all. As far as the root canal, I did not feel any pain at all. The staff, including Theresa, are all awesome, always helpful, and remember who you are. What a phenomenal group of dentists. I have been recommending them to everyone!

He is flawless! and top notch! in dental procedures …with his state of the art dentistry office….He made me three modern cerec crowns and my wife two venner cerec crowns for her front teeth that look stunning! …..We walked out four hours later complete with our new crowns! I had been searching for a great dentist since moving to LA 3 years ago. I originally started seeing Dr Mak at his Pasadena location but was thrilled when he opened another office in a Downtown only a block away from my office. He is very thorough and conservative in his treatment. He takes the time to explain things and lists options you may have. Everyone hates getting novocaine shots, but he makes it as pleasant as possible. He applies numbing gel and he keeps the needle out of line of sight. To me this is huge! It’s the attention to detail, the quality of his work and equipment, and his professionalism that keeps me going back to him and referring family, friends, and coworkers.

Usually, Yelp is full of two kinds of reviews. 1 star reviews from unhappy people that are impossible to please and 5 star reviews that were asked to leave their feedback from the business. This is neither one of those. I don’t have enough amazing things to say about this place. The office staff is amazing, they fit me in, working around my availability to get me into the office downtown so I didn’t have to go to Pasadena. All of the assistants were so helpful, nice, and thorough. Dr. Mak was extremely competent and truly just great. Jennifer was the best dental hygienist I have ever had – she was so efficient!

MKD Dentistry is hands down the best dentist I have been to in LA. I have been a patient with them for a few years now from working in the Pacmutual Building. Their office is on the 5th floor- great view, and super clean. They even offer an Uber service now if you are in the area (just make sure you request a day before). I went in last week for a check-up as my wisdom teeth were killing me. They squeezed me right in for an appointment that day and referred me to an oral surgeon for a consultation a few days later. After the appointment, I was still unsure at what to do and Dr. Mak called me back over the weekend, and even again the morning before my surgery to lead me in the right direction and give me the best advice. I was extremely grateful for his support and guidance. The staff really cares about their patients and makes that known. They have always been so personable, helpful, communicative and trustworthy. I highly recommend going here.

Their office is THE BEST! Hands down. I have been with Dr Kleiger for the past 20 years and it’s been awesome seeing his practice grow and thrive in Pasadena and the surrounding area. My family has been going to Dr. Kenneth Mak for 25 years..Whenever I meet someone they say you have the prettiest smile, I attribute that to my parents and special help from Dr. Mak. Last year I had to change dentist offices because of the type of insurance I had. I thought okay, I found another dentist for my family we did our visits etc..it was alright BUT I knew immediately that the level of care, attention to detail and just a feeling of overall goodness did not exist. October was open enrollment and I could not wait to change coverages and get back to Dr. Mak and his amazing staff. These guys are fantastic. Literally everyone here – the admin, front desk staff, dental hygienists, & the dentists are gems. I needed a filling and had a lot of anxiety about going in to get it done. They were incredibly supportive and Dr. Mak got it done in less than a few minutes. He was very patient in answering all of my questions and making sure I knew what to expect. I also was very grateful for Sai (apologies for my spelling). Sai helped calm my nerves and provided a realistic expectation of what the process would be like. I really can’t express my gratitude in words for how helpful the Doctor and the entire staff was. This is as good as it gets – I travel nearly an hour each way to get here. Today was my initial visit to Dr. Mak’s office. I found Dr. Mak to be very knowledgeable and personable, and I sense that he has a reasonable, measured approach to treatment. I have found my new dentist! I have seen Dr. Mak twice and so far I love him and his staff. He is very attentive to your oral health and has state of the art office equipment that makes your experience even better. On my last visit I needed a crown replaced and I was very happy that everything was done in house and I didn’t have to wait for another party to make the crown because I hate those temporary tooth things. My crown is beautiful, the color is right, and it looks just like my other teeth. Thank you Dr. Mak, Rudy, and Teresa! My only con is that parking sucks! But hey all parking in downtown LA sucks.

The list for giving five stars to MKD is long! I have been a patient of Dr. Mak for 10 years and was really excited that he and his fellow dentists opened an office convenient to my Downtown office. Now I can leave my office for my appointment and be back in an hour. Wonderful! Their offices are spotless, have the latest technology and the staff is well trained, professional and courteous. Dr. Kenneth B. Mak received a doctoral degree in Dental Surgery from the University Of Southern California School Of Dentistry in 1993. Prior to that, he earned a Bachelor Degree in Biological Science from the University Of California-Irvine in 1989. He was also Preclinical/Clinical instructor at the University of Southern California School of Dentistry for a year before practicing full-time in Pasadena in 1994. Since then, Dr. Mak has provided treatments and practical solutions to patients in all phases of cosmetic, general and family dentistry. He has extensive experience in dental implants and constantly keeps abreast with recent advancements in the science of dentistry. Dr. Mak places great emphasis on providing his patients a thorough understanding of their treatment options including state-of-the-art solutions for various dental circumstances and issues. I have been practicing in Pasadena since 1994 with extensive experience in dental implants as well as all phases of cosmetic / general / family dentistry. An integral part of my philosophy is clients have a thorough understanding of their treatment and options which include practical solutions with state of the art dentistry.
