I’m an RN so you’d think that I would be ok going to the dentist. I’ve hated most of my dentist experiences growing up but will say that I finally found “dentist love” for Dr Kleiger and his crew! They are AH-MAZING! I love how his office gets to really know you! I can definitely trust that I will have my beautiful and healthy smile under his care. He has a beautiful new office (not that this matters) but it’s clean, easy accessible parking and his office staff at the front always greets you with a smile! If you’ve been timid to get your teeth checked out or are looking for a new dentist PLEASE try him out! I’ve referred ALL of my friends there who are Dr Kleiger FANS now also! I had a great experience yesterday at Mak & Kleiger. Amid Covid-19 protocols, the safety measures were appropriate and professional. Wonderful experience and everything I’d hope for. I had a livingsocial deal for a cerac veneer and Dr. Kleiger was not only caring and careful but also took the time to create the perfect replacement veneer for my bad tooth. Moreover the artistry he and his assistant demonstrated in matching the color, shape, and fit of the new tooth was really very impressive and has resulted in a perfect veneer that beautifully matches the rest of my teeth. Even though MKD is not local to me at all I’ll now be making Dr Kleiger my regular dentist. Wholeheartedly recommended!!

Dr. Kleiger spent lots of time with me, going over my somewhat complicated situation and making certain that I understood all the options that were available to me. I never felt pressured or pushed into doing anything, but he carefully about all the benefits associated with each different option. Also spent a lot of time going through each tooth and the anatomy of my x-ray, which many doctors are in a rush to get through (and often don’t even show you unless you have cavities).

Dr. Kleiger was exceptional. He really took the time to explain what he saw in my x-rays. He communicated clearly without condescending, and was happy to answer questions. The dental hygienist (I’m bad with names but believe hers was Natalie?) was also wonderful. She was thorough but gentle, and was very kind without expecting me to engage in awkward small talk. The whole experience at Mak and Kleiger was great. Everyone in the office made an effort to make me feel well cared-for, and no unnecessary services were pushed on me. I visited the offices of Dr. Kleiger and Mak yesterday. It was my first outing to an enclosed space outside my home in over 3 months. I’ve been going to Mak & Kleiger for nearly ten years and to this day am extremely pleased with everyone I have seen. My dentist is Dr. Kleiger but I have also been treated by Mak and De Mesa, two thumbs up on all of them. I went to get my teeth cleaned today at Makailas & Kleiger DDS. This was the first time I’ve been back since the covid 19 shelter in place orders took place. From the moment I arrived to the moment I left, I’ve never felt safer. Social distancing protocols are in place from hand sanitizers on counters, to plexiglass between you and office staff, to face shields and face masks on dental technicians. Dr. Kleiger is absolutely the BOMB. I’ve been seriously lucky in my history of dentistry. But when my last dentist, whom I adored, retired, I was in a pickle. And vinegar ain’t that good for your teeth. Along comes Dr. Rodney Kleiger. Professional, nice, caring…and cleans your teeth like a pro. Wait, he is a pro. Ok, then he does a really, REALLY great job. He’s trustworthy, gentle…all the makings of the perfect dentist. Even if he IS a crazed Trojans fan. 🙂 I heart this dentist. Go. You will too. In fact, I sent a friend there and she loved it, too! And then I sent my brother there (they take his insurance, too! and he needed a crown replaced) and HE loved Dr. Kleiger as well. My first experience here was phenomenal. Dr. Kleiger is very professional and honest. He tells you what exactly he sees with your teeth and what he recommends based on the X-rays and shows you the images. He is forthcoming about costs and what you can use that your insurance does or doesn’t cover. I hate going to the dentist, and so does my husband, but when he needed to go because his teeth were literally falling out, we found Dr. Kleiger ..and boy, Thank Goodness! He is a wonderful dentist, explains everything and makes you feel comfortable. The office is great – very clean and the examination/treatment rooms are clean and bright. They are really state of the art with computer programs that show your treatment needs, xrays load right onto the screen so you can understand and see what you need done. My husband got his 11 fillings done, pain free and in two sessions, under 30 mins each time..and quality work. You can’t even tell that he’s had fillings done! Very happy with Dr. Kleiger and will always go to him. Thank you!

As someone who absolutely hates going to the dentists or doctors, I felt a lot less anxious here than at any other facility I’ve been to. I had a chipped molar that was causing me pain and annoyance for a long time until I finally had to go get my teeth cleaned by request of my doctor prior to my surgery. Dr. Kleiger and his assistant (I don’t recall her name, sorry!) fixed up my tooth so quickly and efficiently, but I was determined to have needed two cleanings since I neglected to get my regular cleanings (curse my anxiety!). I was able to get both cleanings done within 10 days of my consultation/tooth repair and both hygienists were efficient and kind. Special shoutout to Marge (hope I got her name right) for her silly lesson on dental hygiene and microbiology lecture (which, as a recent biology major, peaked my interest haha). Actually looking forward to my next cleaning with her! Everyone at this practice was very welcoming, I highly recommend them to anybody!

I have worked with two different hygienists who are excellent – my gums don’t feel torn open after the cleaning! Today, the hygienist Jerry not only did a superb, careful job, he gave me the best explanation of why we need to floss yet. Each dentist is kind and thorough. The staff is very professional. Great people, and great dentists. They are very communicative when they work on your teeth, and detail every item for you as they are working on them. They explained to me which items would and wouldn’t be covered by my insurance (after checking with the insurance I submitted to them – which you’re allowed to do without them “asking” for it first, since we’re all adults who should know how this works) and why they were performing each item on my teeth. They’ll show you the X-Rays, and very clearly display and explain what’s going on with your teeth with regards to what needs to be fixed. The office is comfortable, clean, and welcoming. Also, please don’t pick your dentist based on whether they validate parking.

I must admit I’m a bit spoiled when it comes to the dentist. For most of my life my dentist always cleaned my teeth personally up until the last 5 years when it was done by a hygienist. I tend to trust dentist more that spend time with their patients and at MKD they do. I currently don’t have dental insurance and am a little OCD when it comes to my teeth. I’m also a Grouponer and recently realized I had missed my last 6 month check up and started scouring Groupon for a deal. I looked over a few with mediocre reviews and then happened upon MKD dentistry and I’m glad I did. Dr. Kleiger was amazing. He provided a thorough cleaning himself which is a plus and he even provided an in depth tooth anatomy lesson as he reviewed my X-rays with me. I definitely picked the right place!!! Street parking is difficult to find and the lots are a tad expensive so bring cash and arrive early so you have more options.
A WORD FROM YOUR DOCTOR
Dr. Rodney Kleiger earned his doctoral degree in Dental Surgery at the University Of Southern California School Of Dentistry in 2000. While attending dental school at USC, Dr. Kleiger took various electives including pathology and was accepted into the I.V. Sedation selective under Dr. Stanley Malamed, a renowned Professor of Anesthesia & Medicine and Diplomate of the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology. Dr. Kleiger gained ACLS certification through this selective and moved on to teach CPR and local anesthesia and nitrous oxide administration.
