I recently switched dentists because I wanted someone who was ethical and would level with me about the condition of my teeth without charging me a fortune to have some of the following options completed: “crowns;” veneers; “onlays;” or old fillings re-done. Dr. Liu is exactly what I was looking for – a straight talking individual who pulls no punches. I was surprised to learn that I did not need most of the expensive procedures that I had been led to believe. Dr. Liu understands that most people have to squeeze to pay for dental bills. She has a warm, welcoming manner that puts you at ease and has a great sense of humor. She has a way of immediately developing a rapport with the patient. She is patient with customers – not rushing them nor pressuring them and listens intently to your concerns. You will be happy with the outcome of her procedures because she does it right the first time. She will not disappoint !

I was terrified (TERRIFIED) of the dentist and hadn’t been in years. I went in because they had good reviews and I wasn’t disappointed. The office staff are SO sweet; they gave me a tour and took time to talk to me about my worries so we could work out a plan (I may have needed sedation dentistry which ended up being kind of the best thing ever considering how much work I needed done and how scared I was). They were just super considerate the whole time. I definitely recommend them!

Dr. Amy Liu and the Team at Modern Dental Care are all very pleasant and professional. Dr Liu has just the right mix of knowledge, expertise, and humor to make you feel comfortable during ANY procedure. My husband who has always reverted to a scared little 8yr old when being faced with something as simple as a teeth cleaning, has now had several caps, and a permanent implant!! I have had 4 caps and a few fillings, and I can honestly say I felt no pain! The entire staff pays attention to you and makes sure you are as comfortable as possible and pain free while giving you SUPERB dental care!

Absolutely awesome Dentist and staff. I have been coming to Dr. Amy for well over 10 years. She is extremely meticulous and a perfectionist when it comes to her work. Cortni is the best Dental Hygienist I have ever had…..VERY thorough and knowledgeable. They take the time to educate their patients and explain to us why we need the work performed. Rebecca is always friendly and helpful when it comes to insurance and appointments. The whole staff is very friendly and actually care about your health. Thanks!

When you first meet Dr. Liu you can feel the energy that she brings to her job. She has a sunny and buoyant disposition which makes you feel good just being under her care. If you want an honest opinion of what needs to be done – she will give it to you – straight ! Dentistry is generally routine, but if there are any possible alternate procedures that can be devised to benefit the patient by reducing anxiety and saving time or money, Dr. Liu can often find a way to present more desirable options to you. Although always upbeat, you will notice that she sometimes has a few moments of silence because she is a deep thinker and highly analytical when devising a plan for your specific issues. My experience has been that Dr. Liu thinks fast and is typically one step ahead of you, anticipating your questions. She has saved me hundreds of dollars on two occasions. Many dentists are friendly like Dr. Liu, but do you have an immediate feeling of trust in their recommendations ? You do with Amy Liu ! The staff is attentive and personable. Before going to Dr Liu I had not been to the dentist in over ten years needless to say I was nervous/ embarrassed when I decided to have my teeth cleaned and an exam. Dr.Amy Liu is literally The best dentist I have ever came across, The night before I went in I absolutely had no sleep I was in the worst type of pain words could not describe! I was calling around for prices and came across modern dental care spoke with Rebecca, best customer service I have ever experienced,understood I was in pain and fit me into the schedule same day! I got to the office and was in so much pain I was having trouble filling out the paper work Dr.Amy Liu came out into the lobby and and took me in numbed my mouth and gave me a pillow and blanket, told me I know you haven’t had sleep rest, I woke up and she asked me if I was hungry she had a protein shake if I wanted it lol, it was amazing for attentive she filled my root canal with a filling until I was able to have the procedure done when I left she gave me her cell phone number just in case I needed anything one day later the root was acting up again I text her and she told me to meet her at the office at 7pm I was shocked she took the time out of her day to help me, I met her at the office and he extracted the tooth since than I been feeling 100% great( tooth pain is no dang joke) To Dr. Liu and Rebecca thank you for making my experience a warm pleasant one.

I chose this dental establishment from the reviews on yelp. I was not disappointed! The doctor is amazingly friendly and thorough! You’re greeted by Rebecca at the door who is comforting and gives you a tour of the office. They offered to the coffee water all at the front desk. The dental hygienist was so knowledgeable! I know my teeth will be healthier because of her. I definitely recommend this dental place!

I just want to take a moment to thank Dr. Liu for the wonderful work she did on my implants and the crowns. This happened around Christmas time. I was so anxious and worried sick with the missing teeth I would not be able to do my Christmas caroling. Dr. Liu was extremely patient and kind. The office was closed on weekends but she was willing to give up her day off and open the office just for me to complete my treatment. I was able to leave the office singing and smiling with a beautiful set of teeth. Dr. Liu is a very competent, meticulous, experienced and caring dentist. I am so very glad I called this place. I had a very painful wisdom tooth that needed to be pulled and was anxious about who to call. I haven’t been to the dentist in about 10 years and did not know where to start. Rebecca took the call and was very pleasant and helpful. She greeted me when I arrived and took me on a tour of their beautiful, homey office. Her and Dr Liu understood my urgency and helped me out as fast as they could. Dr Liu was very comforting and down to earth. She did not pressure or shame me, but instead told me what it looks like I should do and gladly helped. The whole process was a million times easier and affordable then I could have imagined. I honestly cannot wait to go back to see them again and take care of some looming cavities.

This is the most awesome Dentists I have ever been too. I needed a broken tooth removed and had it replaced with one of the types that are screwed into your jaw bone. I was terrified thinking of all the pain it was gonna cause me. Doctor Amy Liu talked to me and assured me it wouldn’t hurt. Mean time I was sure it would as my past dentists have not been my most favorite people to see if you know what I mean. Now that it has been a year later, Dr Amy Liu was correct. It never hurt, I never had to take any pain killers and I have no problems with it still. I’m so Happy that I found Dr Amy Liu, Dental Hygienist Cortni and Rebecca front desk at Modern Dental Care. I have been going here for over 15 years and this is from someone who hates going to the dentist. Dr. Amy Liu is the best. I would not think of going to any other dentist. She treats her patients like they are family. One of my friends needed an emergency root canal and could not get an appointment with any other dentist. The minute I heard about it I told her to call Dr. Liu’s office and BAM she was in. She loved the place and will go back. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable!!! They fully explain entire procedures whether it’s a cleaning or major dental work. At the desk is Rebecca…she is the best, always very friendly. It’s nice after speaking to her you know your approximate out-of-pocket costs so there are no surprises.

I have been with Dr. Liu for more than 20 years, and so are my family after I got married in 1994. Dr. Liu and her staffs are top notch in term of care, service and satisfaction. Dr. Liu routinely worked past regular office hours to accommodate my family, and even personally called to check on condition after major work. Her friendly staffs are always awesome in making the visit as painless and joyful as possible, and I am always intrigue about new tech deployed on my visit. Have to agree with the other reviewer that Cortni is the best hygienist I have ever had, and Rebeca is more than excellent in scheduling and taking care of insurance paperwork. Sometimes I feel like the office knows me more than I do myself. BEST dentist in town!

Recently I visted Dr. Amy Liu and the lovley ladies at Modern Dental. I had called with the worst wisdom tooth pain possible. As a first time client I thought it would be a least a week to get in, however the ladies fit me in the same day for exrays and the following day in a matter of 10 minutes my tooth was out. They even went the extra mile to fax me all the paperwork I would need to fill out right to my work. When i got there all I had to do was sign in and 2 minutes later I was called to the back. I really want to give a big thank you to the team at Modern Dental for taking such good care of me. Not only was Dr. Amy Liu amazing at what she does, all the ladies in the office customer service is on point. I wouldnt recommend anyone but Modern Dental. Great work. Top notch.

Dr Liu and her staff are amazing! I had a terrible impacted wisdom tooth and had to get in asap for a check to make an aoot and I had no choice but to bring my 15 month old daughter with me. I felt so bad about it but she and her staff took care of the baby the whole time I was having xrays done. They played Lego’s with her and one of the girls even had her on her Lao while she was working. They are truly amazing and I am so grateful that I’m not even that nervous about my procedure in a few days because I know they will take care of me!! Thank you ladies!

Amy Liu, DDS was born and raised in Taiwan. She graduated from dental school at Taipei Medical College and attended the University of California, San Francisco to complete postdoctoral studies in Oral Medicine. After obtaining a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Loma Linda University, she moved to Phoenix in 1989 and has been with Modern Dental Care ever since. Dr. Liu attends many continuing education courses and loves to learn about achievements and advances in the field of dentistry. She enjoys traveling, photography, reading, and meeting new people. Dr. Liu is fluent in English and Mandarin. She is married to an optometrist and has two daughters; their family includes a dog, a cat, a tortoise, and chickens.
