I love this dentist. Ivy is the best dental hygienist I have EVER had, which is saying a lot-I have always liked my dental hygienists, but Ivy went above and beyond! I had to switch dentists due to insurance, I am glad I found this practice and I will always request Ivy! She is honest, thorough, and extremely kind. She was even great to my 7 year old cousin who had to tag along and wait with me.
★★★★★
A very positive experience. All of the staff professional and pleasant from the office staff to the dentist. Katherine the hygienist was the very thorough and gave me some good advice and information I’d not had or heard before. The dentist was not overly aggressive and I felt like she had my best interest as far as treatments are concerned. I will happily return for all my dental needs.
★★★★★
The most friendly, patient and compassionate staff I have ever met and I have been seen at 3 locations to fit me in as soon as possible and every one had new faces that treated me the same way. Never thought I would want to go have dental work with sedation at a place that catered to your needs, fears, and concerns like they all do. I drive 2 hrs to go here and will continue to do so as needed.

Dr Monticciolo is the best! I’ve had some really bad experiences with dentists, and he’s the only one I trust. He’s very patient & does great work. I’ve been going to him for about ten years now. I really appreciate that on the two occasions I had emergencies, he sees me immediately – once on Christmas Eve when I cracked a tooth! I also love that they pair me up with the same dental hygienist every time I go. I’m currently with Amber. She has a gentle touch & always is making jokes to distract me.

Went for my first visit yesterday and what could’ve been a pretty bad encounter, ended up being wonderful. I showed up for my appointment and they had no record of me even making it- oh no! Claudia, who was running the front desk, was super friendly and helpful and understanding and was able to squeeze me in, and I only waited a few minutes to get called back as well- awesome! Then Katherine, the hygienist, was AWESOME. She explained everything she did and had a super friendly attitude and took the time to educate me and answer all my questions. She also did not make me feel bad at all for not being at the dentist for a few years and for not being a good flosser. Can’t remember the Dentists name, but she was also super friendly and informative. I will definitely be recommending their office to my other friends and family.

So I have a horrifying past with dentistry, and was very hesitant to establish myself with someone new. I called the office as I’m missing a tooth and felt that they could be a good option (being their ads are primarily focused towards missing teeth). My flipper (like a temporary partial denture) broke and I needed in fast, and they managed to book me for the same day requested that same week! I ended up scheduling for NPR and ended up here by my mistake and they willingly took me in here instead of traveling and accommodated me enough to do full xrays, exam, treatment plan for a few things, and discussed financing before going above and beyond to do my new impressions same day! I was given extra care and consideration from both the female doctor and the assistant Kim (who was absolutely fantastic). I will definitely be back and look forward to the aesthetic results I see from this new flipper soon. As someone who’s worked in dentistry for years and gone through it all, they seem like good people who aren’t trying to push more than needed or make things sound worse than they are. Very open and honest, made sure I fully understood the risks of all options before making my choice and in no way felt pressured into a higher price option. Love love loved the time I spent here with Kim and Dr. today. (And thank you to Karen from the lab for taking extra care to ensure my cosmetic happiness)

I almost don’t even wanna make this post and keep them all to myselfI! For my first visit I had x-rays by a very kind and friendly employee(her name escapes me) Then I met Dr Lake…wow . he was so friendly, genuine and took time to educate me about my oral care.. Kathy at the front desk is super! The Monica’s were great and Ashley the hygienist was amazing! I felt so relaxed , we chatted like old buddies.. Dr Monticciolo you have a great crew!

This was my first positive experience in dentistry in thirty years. You may feel like you are inundated with paperwork as a first time patient. My recommendation is remain chill and just do it. This is also not bargain basement dentistry. There is an insurance plan that I took with them that you should really consider if you are in this for something big and for the long term, as am I. Front of house staff seems to change with some frequency, if you have some rough spots hang in there. At the completion of my care plan the staff was very good. THE MAIN THING: I had extensive periodontal disease and had lost two wisdom teeth from root decay. Since the introduction of ultrasound cleaning every experience (the few I had) was absolutely like being in a torture chamber voluntarily. I was also, long ago, improperly injected in my lower right jaw for anesthesia resulting in yet more pain. This was discovered and resolved recently by another dentist. It is because of a nerve placement anomaly. All of this put me in a desperate place at age 65. My care plan, designed by Dr.Monticciolo included deep cleaning, a semi-permanent bridge, some extractions and a cap or two. THE EXPERIENCE WAS AMAZING! This took about four sedation visits. I went in, doc says hi, I leave feeling great! Had to quell a little after surgery pain on the first visit with some Tylenol but each visit resulted in lest post surgery discomfort. My last part of this plan was a cleaning, with fluoride, antibiotic application, and polish. This was also a life changer. I explained to the hygienist my history. She said, I was partly in luck because she prefers MANUAL CLEANING. Turns out this is the key to me returning without the fear of torture to regular cleanings! No more ultrasound for me. IN SUMMARY: The best experience of my life. Stay positive. Communicate.
★★★★★
Im extremely afraid of the Dentist but the Doctors and Staff at the St. Petersburg location were very supportive and understanding and put my mind at ease before my extensive dental surgery a couple days ago. When asked how I felt at my pre-op checkup the next morning, the only thing that came to mind was “I feel like smiling again!” If you are a big baby, like myself, you should check them out… You will not regret it!

I am a very anxious patient since I had a rough experience as a kid. The first time I came I had a severe toothache and was just miserable. I knew that I needed lots of stuff since I didn’t go to the dentist unless I was dying. Dr. Monticciolo made my visit awesome and calmed my fears. He was very understanding and made me feel good to know that I was not alone. He said many patients have these issues and that is why I started sedation as part of my practice. All his friendly staff were amazing and knowledgeable, he is also very reasonable for sedation. After having seen another doctor for sedation (that was not only expensive but didn’t do things properly) I was apprehensive. I recommend him and his office highly. I had the pleasure to also meet one of his other dentists Dr Perez , and she is amazing , thank you all for the wonderful experience!!
★★★★★
I had my first appointment there today and everyone was so professional including the receptionist Linda. The dentist and the dental hygienist are so nice and friendly and explained everything along the way. Would highly recommend this place at least from the Short, experience that I have. Will add to this review as I go back for additional treatments.
★★★★★
I had to have multiple extractions and fitted for first time dentures. It he best dental experience I have ever had. I am severely afraid of dentist due to multiple bad experiences but the sedation was wonderful and I slept through the whole thing. The staff is kind, caring understanding and very positive. I love my new smile… wish I would have done this long time ag

I haven’t seen a dentist in five years due to a really bad experience back home. Everyone at this office was super kind and efficient. They called me well in advance to ask if they could move my appointment up an hour, which was totally fine, and on the day of my new patient visit they were able to get me in for a cleaning that same day due to a cancellation. Hygienist was so kind and funny. They were entirely honest about the state of my teeth, the reality of which came as a pleasant surprise after 5 years of no professional work, so that was great! After that I felt reassured they would not push for any procedure that isn’t necessary. I had an itemized list of suggested procedures (which wasn’t long at all) alongside their prices, and they also pointed out what was simply a suggestion if I wanted to go the extra mile. I do not have dental insurance but the prices were incredibly reasonable, and I know they offer some payment plans for those who may need it. The other patients in the office seemed comfortable to be there and on friendly terms with the staff. I like knowing that this will be the place I’m going should I need any work, and it’s good to know this is an office that specializes in patients with dental fears. No pressure or judgment- only respect, and the sedation option is there should any drills become involved in the future. I feel comfortable going for regular cleanings again. 5 stars from me :}
★★★★★
They were friendly and professional. The dentist was realistic and made a concise plan. An affordable one at that. You are offered different kinds of financial help, and anthesia and nitrous for pain and nerves. The assistant was sincere and knew the X-rays bothered my small mouth. We have a plan. 3 extractions on one visit. 2 cavities on another, cleaning on another. Since I start my new job Tuesday, I will have better dental insurance, and get all the work done here. Thank you. You are the best, most competent, kindest, dentist I have encountered I have found In this area in years!!!

I have been going here for years. Before I moved back to Seattle in 2008, I had been a patient at the old location at Grand Blvd and Trouble Creek Rd. I had a sedation procedure done for many teeth all in one day, including a few root canals, crowns, an extraction, and some fillings. I arrived at 6AM, and the next thing I remember I was waking up in my bed at home at 8PM that night. I briefly remember being helped from a wheel chair out the back door into my dads vehicle, but it was a blur. No pain, no sense of time, no memory of the procedure, and all they gave me was a small amount of fluid to drink and a small pill. Now that I have returned from Seattle, Dr. Monticciolo has three locations. Town N Country, New Port Richey (new location), St. Petersburg, and I was told the newest one is getting it’s finishing touches in Seminole. The new location in New Port Richey is even nicer than the old one on Grand Blvd. A new building, with many rooms, a waterfall and large TV in the front lobby, and a great welcoming staff as always. I seen Dr. Fares on this visit, and he was very helpful, he listened, and didn’t talk down or shame me. I haven’t had insurance and I’ve been waiting on my disability for a while, so my teeth are in poor shape. He gave me options, he gave me his opinion, and he let me decide how I want to move forward with my treatment. The staff explained my insurance costs, what steps would be next, and even gave me a visit by visit print out detailing what each visit would entail, and how much it would cost. Dr. Fares showed me the panoramic X-ray, the individual X-rays, and the color images he took inside my mouth, and described in detail what was going on, and my options for a better smile. Due to my extensive medical history, blood thinners, and two of my roots being deep into my sinuses, I was referred to an oral surgeon for my upper teeth. Dr. Fares voiced a safety concerns and said he would be happy to address all of my other needs. The staff processed my insurance and went over all options with me, while smiling and not judging me. Half of the problem with any doctor’s office is the questioning, shaming, and feeling of judgement with your health, or lack of it, but not here. I look forward to my next visit, and hopefully they still have the same awesome dental hygienists as before. They seem to have really kept their high standards even after spreading out around the bay area.
★★★★★
I cannot say enough about Dr. Monticciolo and all of the staff. I have a deep phobia of dental work after some traumatic experiences and have unfortunately neglected my dental health as a result. This practice has completely changed everything for me. I was able to address numerous issues at one time while sedated and woke up to a smile that I have never been more happy to share! They were so gentle and genuinely kind during every step of the process. Thank you so much for all that you have done for me!
★★★★★
This was my first cleaning in a few years and I was very anxious because I usually experience quite a bit of pain during them. Well my hygienist Catherine had a plan in place for that and provided several levels of numbing which made my experience virtually painless and easy. She was also so friendly and helpful and understanding, and made me lose fear of going to the dentist altogether. In addition to the friendly staff up front, my wife and I realized that we luckily picked the best dentist office in town! We’ll be staying with Monticciolo!

Always a great experience at Monticciolo Family & Sedation Dentistry. Liliannie did a great job with my cleaning today . She is always nice and patient as well as the front desk staff . I never have to wait for more than a few minutes, they do great job on the scheduling. I have been coming to this dentistry for a few years now , ever since they took me in for an emergency tooth ache and I’ve been their patient ever since. Highly recommended dental office !

I rarely write reviews, but really felt the need to help other people who were in my similar situation. First, let me say that I have an insane fear/anxiety about going to the Dentist based on a poor experience as a child. I had not been to a dentist in over 16 years (due to fear) and I DREADED the dentist visit. I was also embarrassed because I had gone so long without getting proper dental care. I had checked out two other dentist and Monticciolo was the third consultation. By far, Monticciolo was the best experience. I didn’t feel judged, they were understanding about my anxiety and most importantly, they didn’t make me feel ashamed or embarrassed. Dr. Monticciolo just come up with a plan to fix the problem and his solutions were much less invasive or as expansive as the two other dentist I went too. I did elect to do the Sedation (IV) and I don’t regret it at all. I felt little to no pain after MAJOR dental work, all done in one visit. They staff was absolutely amazing and Raquel had the most gentle IV insertion I’ve ever experienced! I also want to point out that my total bill was nearly HALF of what the other two dentist quoted me. But for me, price was never the issue. The dignity and understanding was more important. I got that and so much more! If you are like me and read every single review on Google trying to find an understanding dental clinic (I feel your pain)…. I can only give you my word that this is the real deal. I did all the research and was the most reluctant until I actually went for my consultation. I also waited one full week before posting this review just to make sure I was certain about the outcome. This was the LEAST painful dental experience and the recovery was a piece of cake. I’m actually so relieved that I got this done and over with. But I can honestly say that I’m actually looking forward to my next dental visit (I’VE NEVER SAID THAT). I won’t ever get myself back in the same situation again. I can’t say enough about the remarkable experience. Especially the excellent dental service, but most importantly the phenomenal patience care!!!

I went in, hoping for help. I had terrible scaring on my front teeth. I had braces as a kid and had very dark scars. I’ve had dentists clean and fill them but they never looked right and they never were able to get rid of the discoloration. I hated smiling and pictues. People have even stopped me to politely say “oh you have something in your teeth” when it was just the discoloration. After meeting with a cosmetic dentist who wanted to change me more than my car I thought hope was lost…. Someone recommend I go to Monticciolo…. I’m SOOOOOOOO glad I did! You were able to fix my teeth and they are beautiful…. what’s more…. I now feel beautiful again! Thank you thank you thank you!

This dental office is top notch! I am so grateful they diagnosed the cracked root. I had previously been to three other dentists, including a Harvard trained Endodontist, who said I had Trigeminal Neurologia. My facial pain has almost completely resolved itself with the removal of the tooth. A big thank you to this office for taking good care of me!
★★★★★
Needed lots of work done including root canals and they did it all. I went with IV sedation and didn’t feel a thing. Everyone was very skilled, professional and pleasant, but Yatie was the very best part of it all and made the whole experience a pleasure. She took the time to explain everything to me and was very gentle and excellent at all parts of her job.

My husband and I have been going to this office for a little over three years now. I have unreasonable “dental phobia,” and they were very understanding and patient with me. In the beginning (3 years ago) the front office staff was professional and always eager to be of assistance, and my dental hygienist was kind and made me feel relaxed and cared for. Unfortunately as time went on the front office staff became quite rude and very unprofessional. I “wrote it off” to perhaps a bad day or maybe I was just in a mood, but this went on, and unfortunately became worse. When waiting for appointments, I could hear them either arguing with each other or complaining about a patient. There was a tense vibe in the office and just about every employee had a negative and snarky attitude, not only toward each other, but toward myself and other patients. I was seriously considering changing dentists. I had to go in during the pandemic to get a permanent crown seated, and I was treated directly by Dr. Monticciolo. He was very kind, professional, and left me feeling as though the office might be turning around. Sure enough….yesterday I had a cleaning (I have to have deep cleanings…uggg), and I can’t speak highly enough of the ALL NEW front office staff and my NEW dental hygienist Andrea Natera. It was a fantastic experience. Some specific things I appreciated about Andrea are she had read my file before I came in and knew my history; she spoke in a kind gentle manner; she never made me feel “judged” or uncomfortable; she didn’t speak in to a recording device when checking my gums (this always made me feel anxious…hearing the numbers read out as the hygienist worked), and she never once made me feel like she was rushing. I’m so glad this office has turned a corner for the better. THANK YOU Dr. Monticciolo or your HR staff for “cleaning house,” and providing the dental care we all deserve. Kudos!
