They are great a follow through with getting your appointment set and they were one of the only offices I called who could give me a teeth cleaning and do my x-rays on the same day. Just had a visit to Dr Gershfeld. He once again he saved the day. My tooth was in excruciating pain. I came in on an emergency and I just could think straight. He numbed my tooth and I didn’t even feel it. He fixed my problem and saved my tooth. I am so thankful I didn’t lose a tooth today and how amazing the service was in the office! I’ll definitely be comi I came in today for a cleaning and had Cristina was my dental hygienist. She had done my cleaning previously and I knew she was the person I wanted to have my teeth cleaned with in the future. I just wanted to report that I am not certain I don’t want to have anyone else do my cleaning. If u get a chance to have her do your cleaning I highly recommend her. Dr. Gershfeld is incredibly kind and very professional. He’s been my dentist for two, almost three years now and I have never once had a complaint about him or his office. Being young w mediocre insurance, I was pretty bummed when I got my list of dentists that accepted my provider and walked out of multiple dentists offices in the area before finding Dr. Gershfeld! So glad I did! They have always been able to see me quickly and the office is very clean. I read in some other reviews that the Dr. smokes but I personally have never noticed this in all of my visits. They have these awesome text and email reminders for appointments which is super helpful. they have ALWAYS done their best to make sure stuff is paid for through my insurance and I have never ever felt like they were being irresponsible w my bill or trying to get me to do unnecessary procedures. Can’t say enough about him or his staff! 10/10 would recommend

After trying several dentists in Hollywood, I’ve finally found the one who I will return to, and highly recommend to my friends. His front office staff is especially friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. First, I went in for a routine cleaning, which was fast, efficient and thorough. Dr. Gershfeld and his staff didn’t try to sell me products or services I didn’t want or need. I actually felt good about my personal dental care regimen and the results. The x-rays revealed issues with two ancient fillings which needed replacement. I was aware of the problems before, but had deferred getting the work done, because I didn’t quite trust my previous dentist. Dr. Gershfeld clearly explained his recommended treatment, and at an after-insurance cost of only $115, versus $680 from the previous dentist. When I returned for the additional work, I was in and out quickly; Dr. Gershfeld explained the procedure thoroughly, and it was entirely painless. His personable and friendly manner helped me relax, which is usually difficult for me in a dentist chair with needles and drills lurking! I am very pleased to have finally found an honest, top-notch dentist who I’ll feel good about returning to, and recommend to my friends.

Like probably most people, I never liked going to the dentist. That is until I met This dentist 5 years ago when i was referred to him … His gentle considerate and informative approach significantly lowers my anxiety while in the chair.. I really like that he verbalizes each step and constantly asks how the patient is doing.. His assistants are always very attentive and professional, and front office staff are pleasant and accommodating. If you are reading all these reviews to decide if you want to go to this dentist, then know that he is the most honest dentist I have ever been to, and I’ve been to quite a few. I had a great experience with Dr. Gershfeld. I had two cavities filled which I had “let go” so they became quite deep. Everyone in the office was very personable and helpful. The office is very clean which is always nice to see. Most importantly, Dr. Gershfeld did a wonderful job. I was a little worried as he doesn’t use topical anesthesia. Despite that face, I was pleasantly surprised to find I couldn’t feel the needle at all. The drilling and filling went very smoothly. I was warned that the tooth may be sensitive for a few weeks but didn’t experience that at all. I am very happy with the work I had done. I will go back to him for all of my work as well as recommend him to anyone. Five stars all the way.

Going to the dentist is usually not “fun” or needless to say “enjoyable” most of the time… Right? Right. BUT, this place “Gershfeld Family Dentists” really changed that for me…! And no, I don’t have any affiliation with this office or any employees there, and I wasn’t even encouraged to write a Yelp review. But when I left recently after a cleaning and evaluating some “minor” work I needed, I saw that they have a sign to check out there Yelp reviews, so I did and I thought, -Hmmm, I should add to these reviews by (also) saying that this place was great…! Everyone on staff was extra cool! Fun to talk to! Candid and compassionate to a guy whose teeth refuse to be obedient to his wishes… 🙁 Ha. Anyway, it was a cool place. They take walk-ins. Its super easy to get to. And, I thought I’d never ever say it, but I look forward to going back..! Not so much getting “the work” (lol) i need done, but the relaxed vibe of the office, the employees, and the Doc himself deserve to be given the 5 stars I’m able to give ’em…!

I had been Dr. Gershfeld’s patient for 10 years and relocated to Las Vegas 5 years ago.  I have been to several dentists out here and have not loved ANY of them, infact the first few years here I actually DROVE back to LA just to see Dr. Gersh.  I have not had a cleaning in a few years ( i’m so bad) and now at 7 mos pregnant found myself with a raging pain in my cheek that moved into my eyeball and bones of the right side of my face.  I went to urgent care here in Vegas and they said it was an abscessed tooth, gave me amoxicillin and sent me on my way.  I called Dr. Gersh later on that day and he said, ” Amy!  You are in your 3rd trimester it’s SO important you need an emergency oral surgery.  ” He went on to tell me the baby could get sepsis, which can kill an unborn child.  They didn’t tell me any of that at urgent care, i knew i needed to get in to see a dentist, but I had no idea how urgent the situation was and wouldnt have had it not been for Dr. Gersh.  Even though he was out of town at a dental conference he followed up with me checking on me the next day to make sure I had everything taken care of. THATS SERVICE MY FRIENDS!  He is more than just your average dentist he REALLY cares!!!  I have referred SO many friends who have and continue to call him their dentist and friend.  Thanks DR. GERSHFELD!!!!!

I have been to many dentists but Dr. Gershfeld is the best.  I had one root canal and a crown done here.  I like the services here.  The assistants are so kind.  They treat me so nice that I feel bad for  the way I treat other people.  They inspire me to be kind, seriously you have to come here to see how kind they are.  I rarely see any nice people like this in Los Angeles.   The doctor remember my name after the first meeting, given that I a difficult asian name to remember.  The work done here is much nicer compare to other places that I had been to.  My root canal here was not hurt at all.  Other doctor used  black cement for my teeth, but Dr. Gershfeld uses white cement; it makes my teeth look natural and nice.  They also have TV with cable in every room for you to watch while the doctor is fixing your teeth.  I love everyone in this office. The doctor is talkative and friendly.   I would recommend Dr. Gershfeld to everyone.  You the best Doc.

Dr. Gershfeld is AMAZING!!!  I’ve been going to him for about 4 years and he’s done the best work- out of any dentist I’ve ever been to.  There is no pain and his work is perfect- flawless. He’s very friendly and has a great sense of humor which makes the whole process much easier!  His staff are so friendly and welcoming and will always work around your schedule for getting an appointment.  They have Direct TV for every room and the place is very clean and relaxing. If you don’t have a dentist, go to this one. I use the CAREington discount plan, and I have Tonik health insurance. Both are honored here. From the receptionist to the hygienist to the assistant to Dr. Gershfeld, everyone who took care of me was incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful. They are on top of it. I had a root canal and wisdom tooth extraction. Everyone involved kept me constantly informed of what they were doing and what the next step was. Things that normally are painful weren’t. Their level of care was impressive. And the whole thing was done in very little time. They also have Direct TV on the chair, so you can surf through 300 channels as your molars are cleaned. I never waited for longer than 3 min for anything. And the cost was very reasonable. A business like this one deserves your business.

Very good dentist, nice staff. I had an emergency raging tooth pain and they took me in the same day. Dr. Gershfeld quickly took away my pain and started a root canal. He eventually realized he had to extract the tooth because it was in such bad condition. I didn’t have enough money to pay for the whole procedure and they accepted that I pay half the payment and the rest at my next visit which was very kind of them. Came back a week later to extract the tooth and again the service was very good and the Dr. was very reassuring and patient and explained there whole procedure. I like the fact that he wasn’t in a rush and that he cared. I strongly recommend Dr. Roger Gershfeld and his staff!

Have visited the office 2 times and i am very well impressed with the work done here at the office. First visit i was due for a regular cleaning had no issues setting up an appointment fast and easy. Front desk seems very well organized. Went in for my cleaning and it was straight to the chase no waiting around or anything. Cristina the hygienist was very friendly and made sure i was comfortable and ready for the cleaning. Everything went smooth no pain at all or any complaints. My second appointment i was due for my upper wisdom tooth extractions, and again very quick and easy to arrange the appointment. Went in again and got to business right away Dr.Gershfeld and Valerie the assistant got me relaxed and ready to go i was a little nervous at the time but throughout the whole surgery the most i got to feel was just little pressure on the tooths being pulled out. And it showed that they cared about my wellbeing kept asking if i felt any pain or to raise an arm if any pain was felt during the whole process. Everything was done in about 30 minutes or less i really wasnt expecting that at all very professional and efficient team. Thanks guys…

So I recently visited this dentist for a cleaning and check up. I can honestly say that this office has a great vibe. The staff is super accommodating and very knowledgable. I have never used my dental insurance so I decided to use it and the girl at the front desk was very nice and explained everything in detail. Dr. Gershfeld himself was very sweet and funny, as it didn’t feel like I was in the dentist chair at all. He did make some recommendations for the future but he wasn’t all pushy about it. The best part of it all was that he was in network with my insurance and I had no copayments. I scheduled my next cleaning and that was that. My visit was a piece of cake without the cavities lol. Yes I plan to recommend him to friends and family.

love this dentist and office. Been coming here for years. When I had different insurance I had to cheat on him and go somewhere else, but since I changed insurance again I was able to come back to my best guy. Dr. Gershfeld is very personable and warm and humorous, making the visit even enjoyable. Best of all he is gentle and very skilled. He even did a crown prep for me without novacain (my choice) and I barely felt it. Since he convinced me on another crown to use anesthetic for the 1st time in 28 years (I hate the injections) I found him to be super skilled with the door too, much to my surprise and relief. Great work, excellent assistant Carrick, and Carla has been the best, continuous admin and now assistant for years, always making me feel welcome and appreciated. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Dr. Gershfeld is great at what he does. I had a tooth that cracked while I was in the Air Force in Boston… about 2 years before meeting Dr. G. It had been a constant problem and the cap kept falling off. I don’t know if Dr. G’s Eastern European long-ago background gave him a different perspective but somehow this fine fellow fixed what two other dentists were unable to (after multiple attempts per each). Thank you again Dr. G. I do believe the other reviews that he is a smoker. I believe it. People sometimes have these small vices. But he is a good fellow with a heart of goodness and he even helped me when I was right there on La Brea and was getting static from the cops one time. What a fellow really. I rarely praise people this much in a review. He’s aces. Remember me (if you read this Dr. G)… I moved to Manhattan Beach / South Bay but I still remembered to appreciate your help with that tooth that time. Adios.

I started the week having some minor tooth pain. By Thursday it was unbearable. I yelped dentists and found dr. Gershfeld’s office. The front desk girls were very nice and gave me an appointment the very next day. A few hours past and I felt like I was going to pass out from the pain. I called the office to find out what I could do to make it through the next 24 hours. They said, can you come in right now? Well I forgot to mention I am terrified of dentists which is why I didn’t have one. I literally walked in the door crying and shaking. Everyone there was beyond caring, calm, and reassuring. The dental tech was super sweet and dr gershfeld was very soothing and relaxing. I calmed down enough for some Xrays and found I needed to have a wisdom tooth pulled an they would do it that day. Yikes! What everyone says about the shots of anesthesia being painless is exactly true. I was really surprised. I had a difficult extraction apparently but I couldn’t tell. I felt nothing! Now it’s been 24 hours, I have no swelling, still have never had any pain, and my fear of dentists is definitely diminishing. I would highly recommend dr gershfeld and his entire office for anyone looking for someone new or someone great!

I’ve been seeing Dr. Gershfeld for over 5 years now, and he is fantastic. He is always professional, polite, friendly, and he doesn’t waste your time.  He takes many different insurance policies. I know, because my work has changed dental coverage multiple times (Guardian, Aetna, UnitedHealthcare) and he’s taken every one of them.  I seem to see a different hygienist each time I go, but every one of them has been great.  It’s a seamless transition and it almost feels like I’m seeing the same person.  They always have great advice, are friendly, and most of all they care about my comfort. Dr. Gershfeld is a godsend. After not visiting a dentist for over five years, I was sure my mouth was riddled with cavities and problems. I actually only went in because i had a wisdom tooth that was infected and needed immediate attention. Dr. Gershfeld made an appointment for me that day – squeezing me in. He fixed the problem without a hitch, and as painless as possible. He also filled a cavity for me a few months later and it was the easiest filling i’ve ever experienced. No pain whatsoever. I don’t have dental insurance, so I paid out of pocket for all of my services and I didn’t feel they were outrageously priced. I’ve read many reviews on here about people being charged ridiculous amounts for services – but I always ask in advance what the costs are associated with what i’m having done, and get a full price beforehand. If something needs to be added during the procedure, I still always ask before it’s done. Therefore there are no surprises when I get to the ‘checkout’ counter.

Earlier this year I had a filling fall out and had been neglecting a slowly developing tooth ache.  I hadn’t been to the dentist in over ten years and was a little nervous when trying to find a good doctor.  Finally when the pain became unbearable my wife did the research and found Dr. Gershfeld.  His office is a clean with friendly staff that quickly made me feel relaxed.  I was a little intimidated when the Doctor informed me that I need a root canal.  I have to say that the procedure was a breeze I felt absolutely no pain.  Dr.Gershfeld was very good at communicating and explaining what to expect during each step of the procedure.
