I had my twice yearly hygiene appointment with Marissa yesterday. She rocks! I have had many different hygienists clean my teeth over the years, but she truly is one of the best, if not the best hygienist. She is very thorough, takes the time to check all my teeth and makes sure I am aware of the health of my gums. She explains things to me in a way that is easy to understand, but she is never too lecturing regarding my lapses in good hygiene habits. 🙂 I started going to this practice when Dr. was still there, and this was my first visit since he retired. I can say that I will be a long time patient of Marissa and Dr. Jensen. Dr. Jensen has a great chairside presence and I have confidence in her clinical skills. Aubrey is a delight up front- she has all the answers to my questions regarding insurance and she is very good about following up. She provided me with an accurate estimate of my dental benefits and was very knowledgeable regarding my specific policy. You could tell that she had taken the time to review my insurance plan before I arrived at the office. I will be transferring my son to the practice the next time he is due for an appointment.

When my long term dentist retired from this practice, after over 25 years of service, I was concerned how the new dentist, Lisa, would be to rely on for a mouth that has seen a lot of dental work. Lisa is fabulous as is the rest of the staff. She is kind, a good listener, an excellent diagnostician, and runs a very comfortable and effective practice. I am very happy with all the staff and particularly am impressed with the teeth cleaning at get at their clinic. My gums are in good condition so it is not a painful process for me but when I leave I feel that I get the best cleaning. My teeth sparkle.

The folks at Multnomah Village Dental Care are not only some of the best in the field but also some of the nicest folks I’ve met in Portland. They are welcoming, patient, and knowledgeable. I had my first filling here and was terrified after nearly 30 years without the need for any dental work. They answered every one of my earnest questions with calming confidence. Sometimes I think it’s easy to overlook one another in this crazy busy world that we live in. These people really take the time to see you, learn who you are, and without judgement, attempt to provide you with the best care possible. Could we really ask for more out of a healthcare provider?

I would give a 6 star rating if possible. I have nothing but positive things to say about MVD. My fiance found them by doing a Google search when we first moved to Portland. Dr. Jensen is very professional and gentle with teeth. Everyone at the office is kind and engaging with conversation and explains what is being done to your teeth. Another added benefit is they are tech savvy. They will email you to confirm your appointment and are responsive with email communication. Now the reason for the 6th star. I had a little accident two weeks before my wedding. Dr. Jensen was able to see me the Monday I got back in town from the accident and had me scheduled to fix my tooth before the week’s end. Turns out I needed a root canal first. She referred me to a doctor who was able to get me in that same week. But what really floored me was Dr. Jensen offered to come in on her day off to fix my tooth after the root canal so I would be in tip top shape for my wedding. I would not hesitate to see Dr. Jensen for any of my dental needs. I will refer all friends and family here.

I was so compelled to write this review that I actually signed up with Yelp in order to do so. Dr.Jenson at multnomah village dental care has completely transformed the dental office experience for me. Like many others, I avoid trips to dentist for fear of discomfort and financial burden. However, Dr.Jenson and her staff went above and beyond to make me feel at ease and the payment process convenient. I never thought it possible to leave a three hour procedure laughing and smiling. Wow, what a great dentist’s office! Dr. Jensen and her staff are both very skilled and very personable. Dr. Jensen is just great – straightforward and no-nonsense, but able to make everything seem okay even to a nervous patient like me. I like that combination of earnestness and calmness; it’s not always easy to find. I always feel welcome and well-taken care of when I come for a checkup or extra work. The staff have no trouble answering my questions, even questions that probably seem silly to them, with a smile and a clear explanation that a layman can easily grasp. As of July 2015, I am a new patient of Dr. Jensen and her friendly staff. After my trusted dentist of almost 30 years retired last year, I began having dental pain. I bounced around a few dental clinics until I found her office, and I am very happy with her care. I came to her clinic with a lot of sudden, complicated & painful dental concerns and I’ve found Dr. Jensen and her staff attentive, helpful and patient with me. I tend to ask a lot of questions about treatment proposals and diagnosis and I have come to trust her judgment, skill and recommendations. Because of my complicated teeth, she’s been working with my medical doctor as well as several other dental professionals in the Portland area and it’s very reassuring that they’re all on the same page and have my best interest in mind. I’m so thankful that after having dental pain on and off for well over a year, I feel like I am on a good path to resolution soon. One of my troubled teeth gets too much use because of my terrible bite – last year, this tooth had a wide filling (performed by a different Dentist) that didn’t settle well at all. After consulting with Dr. Jensen and two other specialists she works with frequently, they all agreed that a crown would be the next step for that tooth. Unlike most people, I’ve never had a tooth need a crown that didn’t need a root canal too, so needless to say, I was full of anxiety about having crown prep performed on a live tooth. Dr. Jensen and her colleagues all reassured me that I did not need root canal at this time and to at least try the crown prep before rushing into an unnecessary root canal. I agreed, but was very anxious. To my surprise, the crown prep was more comfortable than the filling last year! Again, I want to stress the painful filling was done by a different dentist (a dentist who meant well but was too far away for me to continue seeing). Dr. Jensen and her assistant were very patient with my questions during the procedure and I never felt rushed during any of my appointments with her, which is VERY important when you have concerns about your dental health! I’ve learned that Dentistry is truly an art and you need an talented and compassionate Dentist if you want to maintain something as important and vital as your SMILE. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Dr. Lisa Jensen and her staff — in fact, I’ve recommended her to my Mom who hasn’t seen a dentist in a few years, and to my sister who is also looking for a new dentist.. Also, a quick shout out to Ashley, the talented office manager – she has been so helpful to me, always answering my emails quickly, checking on me, and working with my insurance company. Kelsey, Dr Jensen’s rock star dental assistant, is *very* skilled and always ready with water or the suction wand or floss when you need it! I’ve had one cleaning by Marissa and she was very quick and she made sure I was comfortable the entire time. Wonderful experiences all around. All of the ladies at Multnomah Village Dental are top notch and I look forward to seeing them at future appointments.

I have autism, I have a very sensitive mouth and going to the dentist is always challenging for me. I’ve been to several dentists in my life and I used to be nervous going to the dentsit until I came here. This has been the best dentist and Dr. Lisa Jensen and her team have all been wonderful and very kind to me. They understand my autism, accommodate me and are very gentle when they work on me. I look forward coming here again and be with these fabulous people. As an individual with autism, this has been the most autism friendly dentist and I highly recommend it. Thank you for everything.

No one enjoys going to the dentist, especially me, but Dr Jensen, her staff and the hygienist Marissa, make my visits actually enjoyable. Can’t believe I’m saying that when I’m writing a review for a DENTIST OFFICE!!! Actually the office is nice and looks like it has recently been remodeled. The location is right across the street from Starbucks, and there is ample parking right outside the front door. Hard to believe considering they are in the heart of Multnomah Village. Once you enter into the office you may be surprised to find that one of the gals on the phone may actually be Dr. Lisa. Yes, she is involved in every aspect of the office and loves to take a hands on approach. This is reflected throughout your whole appointment. She cares, and you can sense that in everything she does. My first appointment was for a general cleaning and Marissa the hygienist was the best I have ever had. She used a water pick type of instrument and explained everything she was dong. It was so informative. The only downside is it is so hard to answer back when your mouth is full of water or instruments. She moved so quickly and efficiently that I knew that she too cared about what she was doing. I scheduled a follow up appointment to repair two fillings. I was not looking forward to the drill and filing process, but they had me at ease, and once again it wasn’t too bad of a visit. They offer you a pillow and blanket. I had never heard of that and declined the offer. During the filling process Dr Jensen installed a hard plastic item in my mouth to keep my mouth open. She said some patients love it or hate it. Starting out it was OK, but then it caused a pain in the back of my head. She immediately took it out and said we wouldn’t be using it, and would I like a pillow? This time I said yes, and oh the comforts of a temperpedic pillow made me want to go to sleep. Be sure and accept the pillow and blanket when it is offered the first time. Professional, proactive and polite…these words totally describe Multnomah Village Dental Care. If you are looking for a new dentist you can stop looking and schedule an appointment with Dr Jensen today.

This is hands down the best dental office I have EVER been to. I originally went to them just for my son but the whole family is switching over. They are extremely friendly like they are genuinely happy. The dentist, Dr. Jensen, and the hygienist were so kind and patient with my son. He was destroying their office but they very patiently and calmly reassured me that this is normal toddler behavior. They never lost their cool or seemed irritated. Kind and patient the whole time. They allowed my son to play with the equipment which was awesome. They even have a playroom for kids. I’ve never in my life been so happy with a dental office. They go above and beyond my expectations. I love love love this dental office!!

Our family has been going to this dental office for 30 years, but the practice changed hands about a year and a half ago. Still great quality care and wonderful staff. I appreciate that everyone here is so knowledgeable. Even the receptionist used to be a dental assistant, so questions are answered by someone who knows the business of the business. The hygienists are really good. You get good care, not pain. And everyone is so friendly. I really appreciate that. Dr. Lisa Jensen, who now owns the practice, has been great. I had gone to Dr. , in this location, since I moved back to Oregon in 1984. When he decided to retire, I was a little nervous. But Lisa was great. I had a crown that broke down after having it for less than a year (and through Dr. ) and she replaced it for free. That made a huge difference for me. Her work is really solid. She has been a great dentist and I have no hesitation in recommending her to people I know.

Just moved to Portland a couple years ago and decided to try out Dr. Jensen as she is just couple blocks from our house and they have been absolutely fantastic. Dr. Jensen is amazing, the hygienists are wonderful, and the entire staff is extremely helpful. Easily the best dentist I have ever been to. Because the Village is the focus of the area, it is great to see how involved they are with everything going on around them which includes, but is not limited to, First Friday’s where the staff stays late to interact with the community. Fantastic job!

I love Dr. Jensen. I went to her for several years when she was in another practice on the cool eastside. I have a pretty complex dental makeup to say the least and she knows a lot about my history since moving to PDX in 2006. When Lisa moved across the river to start this practice I decided to stay put because I didn’t want to go to the west side for care. Recently, a situation arose where I wanted a second opinion and who did I go to? Lisa Jensen. Since that visit I was reminded again what I love about her and have decided to transfer to her practice from here on. She is so caring and very skilled. They got me in less than 24 hours which, when you are having intermittent pain is a big deal. The great thing about her besides her big heart and competence is her use of language. She uses terms that helped me understand the situation but didn’t make me feel at fault. Here’s an example, she talked about my teeth having “significant wear” which they do, rather than saying I have been “grinding my teeth.” She was spot-on about which tooth was causing the problem and promptly referred me to a root canal specialist. I’ve already had the treatment and am on the mend. All of this in less than 3 days! They have great systems for letting you access your appointment info online or get text alerts to remind you if you choose. It’s a lovely space with parking right out front in the center of Multnomah Village and despite my initial concern about driving to the west side, it really only took me 20 easy minutes to get there in morning traffic from Laurelhurst. Well worth the trip in my book!

Our dental office has been located on the corner of Capital Highway and 34th Avenue, in the heart of Multnomah Village since 1974. Recently Dr. Lisa Jensen bought the practice and is planning to continue the the great family dentistry that patients have come to expect in this office. Dr. Lisa Jensen is a native of Oregon growing up in Eastern Oregon and the Portland Metro area. She attended Oregon State University for her undergraduate studies and she graduated from Oregon Health and Sciences University in 2005. Dr. Jensen has been practicing in public health and private practice in Portland for the past seven years. She is an active member of the Academy of General Dentistry and the Academy of Laser Dentistry. Dr. Jensen is dedicated to providing the best quality dental care with the newest technology available. She enjoys building lasting relationships with her patients and the Multnomah Village community. Dr. Jensen lives in the Multnomah Village area with her husband Chris and her two sons Dylan and Cody. In her free time she enjoys trail running and hiking. I truly enjoy being a dentist, not only from a clinical perspective, but from a personal perspective as well. I love having patients that I get to know on a personal level. My team and I have the chance to make a difference in our patients’ lives by providing them with a relaxed environment where the whole family feels welcome.
