As an adult it’s kind of intimidating to bite the bullet and get braces. However, I did it and at 30 years old. There are certain challenges that arise when your an adult an getting braces. For me, I have dental crowns and other areas of concerns. Dr. Shackleton and her staff are always kind and patient with me and the questions that I have. They give great recommendations and are timely in keeping their appointments. I highly recommend them.

I can’t begin to convey just how AMAZING Dr Shackleton and her staff are. Even if your kids don’t need braces, you should still take them to see her, that’s how fantastic she is. Almost 9 years ago my wife and I had braces put on as adults because we didn’t listen as teens. (Wear your retainer kids) The treatment was about 18 months, the process went great and our teeth are still straight today! Dr Shackleton’s commitment to me as a patient was off the charts. She stayed late, came in early, squeezed me in, and once even came in on a day she wasn’t open. This upcoming year my daughter will likely need braces this upcoming year and I am changing my dental coverage to a slightly more expensive plan just so she can see Dr Shackleton. My wife and I met Dr Shackleton as patients but we have left her care as friends. Fun fact: Dr Shackleton has done a Half Ironman 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, and 13.1 mile run.

Dr. Nancy Shackleton and her amazing staff deserve way more than 5 stars. From the moment you walk in their office you feel like family. They make the process from start to finish so easy to understand and work through. For me I also love the reminders and easy 1 click to add the appointments to my calendar. Dr Shackleton and her staff are wonderful. They explain everything so you know what’s going on, they are kind and compassionate. You never wait more than 5 or 10 minutes and most appointments you don’t wait at all. The fees are more than fair and they have a payment plan that helps a lot. It’s important to feel comfortable when you entrust your children to someone (or your own appearance) and I would not hesitate recommending her to anyone looking for a great orthodontist.

I found Dr Shackleton through my periodontist. I have a lot of bone loss and needed a doctor that would work carefully and in a gentle way. Dr Shackleton has been caring for my family’s beautiful smiles for about 15 years, and we LOVE her and her staff! My seven year old son has been seeing Dr. Shackleton for about two years now. Dr. Shackleton and the staff have simply been keeping an eye on his growth so far – they have all been wonderful at explaining what needs to be watched and how potential future problems might be addressed. We have never felt pressured to start treatment and truly appreciate advice like what we received today: “Let’s wait and see what kind of growth happens over the next six months and check things then. That’s what I’d do if it were my kid.” These easy, friendly visits have allowed my son to develop a relationship with the staff that is sure to help him (and me) feel comfortable once it is time to start orthodontic treatment.

Dr Shackleton is a very nice and caring orthodontist. My oldest son is currently in braces and my younger son gets them in a few weeks. We started seeing her after a friend recommended her and I’m so thankful we did. Her and her staff do a very good job of making sure you’re comfortable and explaining what is going to happen! We see Dr Shackleton in her frankfort office and we never have any problems getting in if something is broken or hurting my sons mouth. Dr Shackleton is OUTSTANDING!!

I visited Dr. Shackleton for my final follow-up appointment during COVID-19 and I was very impressed with the precautions and measures in place to keep everyone healthy. I called the office when I arrived to check in, I was greeted at the door by a familiar face although she was wearing a hazmat suit with full on face shield gear, gloves and a mask. I was seated quickly and noticed that everything was spotless and covered in plastic, even the keyboards! When a patient leaves, everything can be thrown out and/or easily sprayed down for the next patient. I felt comfortable knowing that all of these precautions were in place and also just because the women at this office are great. The staff are efficient, knowledgeable and take the time to do a great job on your orthodontics. It was hard having my final visit during COVID-19 but I felt so comfortable with the office that I wasn’t worried about it.
