I can’t say enough nice things about Navy Yard Dental! Their whole team has been so friendly, communicative, and helpful during my process of becoming a new patient and coming for a cleaning and a separate filling. The Dr. and the hygienists were both very sweet and patient while I was nervous and required some extra time during my appointments in order to feel comfortable. I also appreciate that they did not try to push sales of any unnecessary products, or pass any judgement based on the state of my teeth. (My last dentist constantly asked when I would get Invisalign.) If I move out of the neighborhood I will continue to come here because I have found the best dentist for me!

Chad Jones came highly recommended to me, and this practice has always surpassed my expectations. Previously they were in-network for my insurance, but they’re not anymore. This has not been a problem in the least because they send my insurance a bill quickly every single time, and my insurance reimburses me. They let me know prior to the appointment how much I will need to pay, and they provide a detailed itemized receipt that makes it simple for me to get reimbursed. I appreciate how quickly they do this because it’s not something that happens seamlessly at every healthcare provider. This practice is clean and safe, and the staff are always conscious of my gum sensitivity. At other dental offices the hygienists will always make me bleed, no matter how much I’m flossing. That’s not the case here, which is so nice. The average person might not notice how up-to-date their equipment technology is, but this stands out to me as someone with dental/oral specialists in the family. Overall, this place is excellent, and I’ll continue to keep coming back here.

After not going to the dentist in far too long a time, I was admittedly nervous to get a checkup/cleaning because of what I might need done (multiple fillings, root canal, etc.). Dr. Jones and his team quickly put me at easy and had me in and out in no time. I couldn’t have asked for a better dental experience, even considering I had to get a couple of fillings. Even that was a seamless process and incredibly quick. Certainly a difference from the old, crowded and uncomfortable dentist experiences of my childhood. For anyone who works on Capitol Hill or in Navy Yard, or who lives in the Navy Yard or Waterfront neighborhood, this should be your new dentist.

I had an excellent experience with Navy Yard Dental. I have been looking for a dentist in DC for awhile and this one popped up right near my house! Not only was this practice convenient, everyone was incredibly nice! I walked in, waited for maybe only 7-10 minutes and was immediately brought back. A little hard to find but such a gem. Make sure you turn down the alley on half street to get to the entrance. Staff was friendly and professional. All the equipment seemed brand new and state of the art compared to my last dentist. I went for a routine cleaning and she really took her time and educated me about my teeth. Great experience.

Like many people living in DC, I moved for work and had the daunting task of finding a new dentist. I am so glad I found Navy Yard Dental! Dr. Jones is the absolute best! First and foremost, I can tell he truly cares about your health and is very honest about your treatment options. He’s extremely knowledgable and the entire experience was very comfortable and pain-free. The office is beautifully decorated, welcoming, and clean. Update 2020 Hi Not writing this out of spite or hurt, but correcting a gross oversight! I am sad to say that this dentist did not do a great job after all. As I had previously written of him in 2019. I know many of you read my initial first and only review of this place. (I only got informed today in 2020 that it got over 1000 views) Yeah I was excited because I thought in 2019 this was a really good establishment. But it turned out to be the opposite. I could say it was a insurance issue, but it REALLY wasn’t. This establishment ending up not only NOT completing the work promised to be done, but also failed to do what the Department of Health and Dental Society and my insurance asked him to do to correct his mistake. Then to add salt to the wound, this dentist got rid of me like I was the plaque. I later found out why to my dismay. To know someone caused unnecessary harm to your physical well being is inexcusable and unprofessional. After going back and forth between this establishment and the medical boards and insurance, on their advice I was told NO DO NOT GO BACK TO THIS DENTIST, we will handle it from here. They were also disturbed that the 1 thing they asked him to do, he would not comply. I was really hurt this establishment got rid of me so quickly. As a former patient, I can’t recommend this place in good conscious, knowing someone else might get hurt. It was only AFTER my experience did I see the OTHER BAD reviews about this establishment. But not based on that alone. I ended up having to talk to some government authorities that govern the practices of these professionals. They were really bothered this establishment would not follow through or correct the damage done as well. Although my initial few visits for cleaning and a cracked tooth were taken care of in 2019. The last procedure in later 2019, that this dentist started did not only NOT go well. But will cause harm to me physically because of HOW this establishment did what they did. I advise anyone else using my 2019 review as a gage to go here, please do your research and homework before allowing anyone to perform ANY type of surgery on you. One Department Head (Who is a doctor and director in this field) in DC government told me on the phone, “BEFORE a DENTIST or DOCTOR TOUCHES YOU, GO TO YOUTUBE and WATCH” the procedure to see how it should be done correctly, then decide if you want it done. And Yeah this professional at Navy Yard did nowhere near what I saw in the video for the failed procedure he botched on me. So I am in for pain with my next dentist because of the negligent mistakes this dentist put upon me knowingly. The Department head I talked too apologised but led me through the next phase to assure this is something that hopefully will never happen to another unsuspecting person.. I can’t say my experience was great here anymore, it was hurtful. And. Nice doesn’t always mean, they have your best interest at heart. I have forgiven this dentist, his life is in God’s hands and God sees all. The harm you do to someone is never overlooked by God. I am a firm believer and woman of faith. I have no ill will or malice towards this dentist, but I don’t advise anyone BASED ON MY review from 2019 to use that as a GAGE. to go to this establishment. What you do from here is your business. I had a great first experience at NYD. I have had the same dentist for years – great guy – in Virginia. I’ve lived in the navy yard for 10 years and would still ride out to Virginia for my dentist – it’s that important, right? These are your teeth! But a few weeks ago, I broke the cap off my front tooth and needed some help quickly. My dentist in Virginia couldn’t/wouldn’t fit me in. So I called NYD sight unseen and Dr. Jones told me to come in ASAP and he would help me out. I immediately liked him as he has a very calm and confident personality. He answered all my questions, fitted me for a crown and in the meantime, put a temporary on. The temporary lasted for the two weeks while I waited for my crown to come in. I just went today and the crown was perfect. It fit like a glove and the color matching is right on. I’m happy with the work and very relieved. I also had a cleaning which was fast and easy. The staff are great as well. Very welcoming and skilled. The offices are new and clean. The insurance/billing was seamless. I’ve had a few crowns done prior to this one and I can say all was as expected. A great experience and I can recommend them for routine work as well as more cosmetic/repair work. I can say I will not be making that drive out to Virginia anymore.

I just recently moved to DC & I began having excruciating tooth pain on my lunch break. I began my Google search & there I found Navy Yard Dental. I was very impressed by all the wonderful reviews so I decided to see if they would be able to squeeze me in & they did! I was informed to complete my forms online, my insurance was accepted & his office is conveniently located on top of the Navy Yard Metro (Green line). As soon as, I walked in I was greeted by great & knowledgeable staff gave them my ID & insurance. The office is beautiful & he has all state of the art technology. The assistants were also wonderful. Dr. Jones has THE greatest bedside manner, he explained to me his findings, we discussed my dental goals & gave me a treatment plan. He was so gentle as he extracted my tooth, I didn’t feel anything. So, if you are in need of a dental home this is it. A hidden gem in the Navy Yard!
