I can’t imagine having a better Dentist home that at the NM Smile Center. I even tried the children-focused (as advertised) dentists thinking they would offer better kid service for my children. However; we discovered Dr. Ollason and staff fostered a much better experience for them so our whole family has been enjoying their services for quite a while. I appreciate how the team is personal, yet professional and efficient. I rather look forward to my visits as they are oddly relaxing.

Dr. Steve Olason has been my dentist well over 5 years .He has treated me very well never had any problem getting ahold of him when I had issues over the weekend or after hours and has not only been professional but treated me like. I was his son because I can be a big baby when it comes to removing a tooth and he didn’t laugh at me or anything. He understood my fears a perty much put me at ease and was right every time didn’t feel a thing. We all know how impossible it is to find a dentist open on the weekend! Dr Ollason saw me on a Saturday, first thing in the morning. He was extremely friendly, and genuinely concerned about my tooth pain. Dr Ollason took care of my tooth in just a few minutes and I was out of pain! He texted me to follow up with me on how I was feeling the following day (right!? What dentist actually does that!?). His staff followed up with me in a timely and professional manner as well. I have been in Albuquerque a little over two years and have visited a couple of dentist. Hands down Dr Ollason is the only dentist I will see now.

For several years I’ve gone through several dentist. I’ve never had such great service as I’ve had here. Ever since my first visit at NM Smile Center, I’ve been impressed. Since then, me and my family have been coming here for several years and I couldn’t imagine going anywhere else. The staff is really friendly and treat you like family and close friends. The hygienist are amazing and are gentle at cleaning teeth. They listened to my concerns about my jaw and referred me to an equally amazing craniofacial doctor. I brought this up to a dentist I had before and his response was “you have to talk to your primary doctor for that.” My jaw feels so much better and it’s all because the dentist and his staff listen and genuinely care.

Dr. Ollason may look more like an eagle scout than a dentist, but trust me he’s an awesome dentist. He always takes time to talk you through the procedures he’s doing, and to answer any questions you may have, no matter how small. His technique is flawless — of all the dentists I’ve been to, he causes the least amount of discomfort and pain. Dr. Ollason’s staff is also excellent. Very friendly, very chatty (sometimes that is not good when they’re doing work with your mouth wide open, but I appreciate the happy atmosphere). Shout outs to Michelle & Katty who are both great dental assistants.

This is a great dental practice–you won’t find better in Albuquerque. Dr. Ollason is an excellent dentist and a very personable fellow. He graduated from one of the top dental schools in the country. He is up to date on the latest in dental technology. He took over an excellent practice from Dr. Frank Montoya. His dental hygienists and office staff are also excellent. My hygienist, Jan, is incredibly good. I have permanent retainers that are difficult to clean around. She does the most thorough job I’ve ever had.

Had and infection in one of my back teeth, brought me some misery for about two months then the past two days it brought me to the point of tears, I couldn’t stand the pain. I called the 24/7 helpline and they had this doctor call me. I was in less than 14 hours later and he immediately started working and viola! Less than 30 minutes later the unbearable pain was gone! Highly recommended you go to these guys, take care of you in a jiffy.

Dr. Ollason and the team at the New Mexico Smile Center are the best! I have been going there for over 2 years and, for the first time in my life, I do not dread going to the dentist. They are all extremely professional, knowledgeable, caring and kind. Jan does my cleanings and I never leave in pain as I had with past hygienists at other dental offices. She is very gentle, but still does a great job. The first time I called Dr. Ollason was for a broken tooth emergency. He called me back in about 20 minutes even though it was a Sunday morning. The New Mexico Smile Center provided me with my best dental experience, hands down. I had not had my teeth cleaned in about 10 years, so needless to say I was concerned and apprehensive about my visit. The hygienist, Kelley, curbed my worries with her friendly attitude and her high level of professionalism. She offered me a few great tips, that I didn’t know I needed, for which I was thankful. Kelley was gentle, but thorough, and turned this dreaded event into a simple and relatively painless experience. Dr. Ollason was funny and kind and didn’t patronize me one bit for not getting my teeth cleaned for the past ten years. He let me know that most of patients were in my same position, and that’s ok, and the important thing is that I had finally made it to the dentist. He made me feel appreciated, which isn’t something I’ve felt at the dentist’s office before. He was funny and knowledgeable and easy to talk to. When I do go back to the dentist, (one year from now) I’ll gladly be going back to NM Smile Center.

This was the best experience that I have ever had in a dentist chair. I’ve always been afraid of dental offices and have an extreme anxiety towards them. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Dr. Ollason for about a year and a half now. The reason I say “working with” is because you can bounce ideas off him and communicate freely during your dental experience! It feels more of a partnership than another average dental visit. I’ve been to dentists in the past where the atmosphere was dull more or less. I’ve also avoided dentists for an extended period of time. Most likely for the same reasons a lot of other people do as well. Dr. Ollason and his staff are professionals in their execution throughout your whole experience, starting even before you walk through the doors! Personally, I’ve had enough work on/in my mouth that surpasses most people. Multiple fillings, a root canal and your periodical cleanings, all pain free. I’ve also had a couple veneers and bone grafts to help strenghten my jaw bone for future implants. Those of which are the next step in this project we formulated over a year ago. In short, if you have a fear of the dentist for whatever reason, Dr. Ollason and his staff will suppress that fear for good. The only way to truly know is to experience it first hand. I can’t thank Dr. Ollason and his staff enough for what they have done for me. If you’re embarrassed for whatever reason, don’t be! The time is now. You will be grateful you did! Just some words of encouragement from someone who was once in your shoes!!!

I broke a molar last night- of course- it’s Friday night! I began to look for 24/hour emergency dentists- no one really works on Sat.- so, Sat. am I began to search again and called an emergency referral # and was told someone would call me back within the hour- sure, I say to myself…but low-and-behold Dr. Ollason called within 10 minutes! Even more wonderful, he could see me in 30 minutes! As I live in Tijeras he accommodated me by waiting an hour! He was very welcoming, has a beautiful, clean office, and took care of me himself as no office staff were there. I’ll need a crown (yikes), but he examined the tooth, put in a temporary filling so I’d be comfortable, and DIDN’T EVEN CHARGE ME for anything as I’ll be coming back for the crown- I was stunned and grateful! He has an amazingly gentle touch- he didn’t need to numb me for the procedure and I felt absolutely no discomfort; and, he has a great sense of humor! You can bet I will be recommending him to anyone who will listen to me- go see this young, motivated gentle, kind, new Dentist please!!

Broke a tooth, called everywhere, it was the eve before Thanksgiving. The only one in the city who called me back was Dr. Ollason. He came out Thanksgiving morning to care for my tooth and relieve my pain. Thanksgiving morning!!! Who does that? Only a dentist who genuinely cares, that’s who. I was in and out of pain in no time.
