I have a very high opinion of Dr. Nina Kumar and her staff .  Both my husband and I have been Dr. Kumar’s patients for couple of years now.  We both feel at such ease when we walk into her office .   Dr. Kumar and her staff are very thorough;  they address the concerns I have and always complete the job in a most professional manner.

I loved my experience here! My hygienist Zoila, was extremely professional, knowledgeable and friendly. She explained the entire process from A to Z. Dr. Kumar is very friendly and knowledgeable. After I was done with the hygienist she came and explained what was needed to be done and answered all my questions. I’ll definitely will come back.

Excellent Dentist. As someone who isn’t very complaint with the 6 month rule for dentist appointment, Dr. Kumar definitely makes your experience a pleasant one. With a friendly staff and a great office (who wouldn’t want a cleaning at the top of the Chrysler building??) Dr. Kumar by far is the best dentist I’ve been to. I would recommend her work to anyone of my friends. She gets 5 stars from me.

Meticulous dentist with Integrity! I have been seeing Dr. Kumar for over 3 years. She truly cares about her patients and will spend as much time with you as required for your issue and answer all of your questions. She is a perfectionist, and may see cavities where other dentists don’t. This doesn’t mean they aren’t there, it means that they may be starting to form. Dentistry can be subjective. I have several crowns that need replacement as the original crowns are too bulky and created problems. Her work is meticulous and she is trustworthy. She relies heavily on x-rays, but I think all dentists do. Additionally, her staff is lovely. Ask her to prioritize your treatment plan so that she works within your budget.

Dr. Kumar is knowledgeable, professional and courteous. She always greets me with a smile and explains exactly what she’s doing and offers a rationale. Her staff is friendly and accommodating. She is a master at putting me at ease about the upcoming work that must be done. The best dentist hands down!!

I have been going to Dr. Kumar for 3 years now. I was assaulted several years ago and lost one of my front teeth. Needless to say, this was traumatizing and not attractive. I was out of the county at the time and the implant I received failed a few years later. Worst thing that could happen on Christmas Eve and at work. I was very untrusting of dentists and scared to trust one again. After a few good dentists, I started to see Dr. Kumar and have been so pleased with my experiences with her that she is now my only dentist. I recommend going to her if you want someone honest, caring and knowledgeable. She makes you feel comfortable and her entire staff also does the same. I love the views in the office and am just overall satisfied. So glad I have found a dentist in NYC.

Dr. Kumar is amazing!! I would rather suffer multiple paper cuts and have lime juice poured over them then go to the dentist. Dr. Kumar’s bedside manner changes that in a heartbeat. She was attentive, easy to talk to, and non judgmental (with my set of chompers, non judgmental is a must). But bedside manner aside, I need a dentist that knows her stuff. Going back to the aforementioned chompers, I haven’t exactly taken the best care of my teeth over the years. I have a lot going on between veneers, implants, crowns, etc..name it got it; and still a ways to go. Dr. Kumar not only broke down each and every issue in detail, but she explained it in layman’s terms and it was literally the first time at a dentists’ appt that I fully understood the nature of the issues. Unfortunately, part of that understanding was the realization that my prior dentist who I thought was solid didn’t exactly have my teeth’s best interests in mind when pointing out issues and giving recommendations, but rather his pockets. This is the game changer for me- part of Dr. Kumar’s assessment wasn’t only providing different options to get my smile where I wanted it to be, but always being cognizant of money and trying to provide the most cost efficient way to get there. Think car mechanic you can trust. I ended up at Dr. Kumar’s doorstep by chance after I moved to the city and needed a dentist close by and came across all the good reviews- and its honestly one of the best things that’s happened since I’ve moved here. I have my confidence back in my smile and I didn’t have to break the bank. Oh and P.S. don’t worry about showing up a bit early…the office is in the Chrysler Building and just happens to have one of the best views in the entire city..you’re welcome 🙂

I cannot tell you how much my outlook on going to the dentist has drastically changed since being referred to Dr. Kumar by a friend. SHE IS AMAZING!! Seriously! I will stalk her to the ends of the Earth if she relocates. Dr. Kumar is knowledgable, professional, and friendly. The kicker is that she always lets you know what she’s doing as she does it. She puts an isolation mouth guard when filling a cavity to avoid flecks of previous filling, etc from going down your throat, and/or flying everywhere. My previous dentist had me eating bits of old and new filling every time I left after I went for a check up. I can tell she loves what she does. I am so blessed and grateful for a dentist like her. Even though I still don’t like the dentist overall because of the tools, sounds, smells, Dr. Kumar’s office is always clean and welcoming. I also can’t forget her staff, led by ANNIE, who is an absolute sweetheart. Thank you!!!!!

Dr Kumar and her staff are all so wonderful . Dr Kumar is by far the best in my eyes she makes sure you are well informed, comfortable throughout the process and helps to ease any anxiety you may have . I can’t thank Dr.Kumar and her staff enough for helping to ease my anxiety and working with such care and patience .

I have been a patient of Dr. Kumar’s for a few years now, and I could not be more pleased. She is conveniently located just steps outside of Grand Central. Her office is on the 69th Floor of the Chrysler Building, which makes the beautiful view a great bonus! Dr. Kumar is extremely professional, friendly and knowledgeable. I feel at ease when I am sitting in the chair. I appreciate that she takes the time to explain her procedures and preventative care options without lecturing me like a child. Dr. Kumar and her staff are amazing! I highly recommend.

I went to Dr. Kumar for the first time back in March 2012. Being a new patient, and generally scared of going to the dentist- I was nervous. Upon sitting down with Dr. Kumar, I felt so comfortable. She explained everything that was going on, asked my concerns and what I wanted out of the visit. In the past, no dentist has ever asked me what I wanted to take away from the visit… and I really felt like this overall experience was special. I feel as though Dr. Kumar is professional, caring and overall friendly. I love my smile and not scared to sit in the dentist chair. I recommend Dr. Kumar to my friends and family.

I have to be honest with you….anxiety is a common thing while sitting in front of a dentist for a procedure, whether it be a general cleaning,  x-rays or a root canal. But going to Dr. Kumar for her services was comforting and easy! It was a pleasure sitting in her office at the Chrysler Building and being able to admire the views..which BTW are amazing! When sitting in her chair she showed a great deal of finesse and expertise so it made it extremely comfortable. My anxiety disappeared. She suggested getting xrays-no problem-not uncomfortable or awkward. She suggested a different kind of fluoride treatment-which was pleasant, not the typical ill-tasting kind…pina colada, if I remember correctly. =) She was able to fit me for a night-grinder protector because she noticed problems with gum lines. And yes, I am guilty of night-grinding. Plus Dr. Kumar offers amazing whitening services! Who doesn’t want healthy, white-looking teeth? I’m going back for that certainly. The service was fast and excellent. I definitely recommend her-Best in NYC!

I hate the dentist. The thought of someone rooting around in my mouth other than me makes me cringe. That is until I met Dr. Kumar. First of all, when you enter her office you feel like you are some VIP dental patient. Her office is located on the 69th floor of the Chrysler building. Sitting in her chair you are able to enjoy views of downtown Manhattan and the Empire State building. I felt more like I was on a sightseeing tour rather than getting my teeth poked, prodded, and drilled. It is definitely a nice distraction when having someone work on your teeth. She gives the best dental care around. She spoke to me in language that I understood and counseled me on things that I can do to improve my dental health. She is very thorough and gentle. I told of of my fear of dentist and she made sure that she explained everything that she was doing as she was doing it so there were no surprises. Her general demeanor towards patients is very comforting. She is a very warm and inviting individual, and her laugh is infectious (you’ll see!!). All in all, I feel very confident and comfortable in her chair. I am sending all of my friends and family to her without hesitation.

Great dentist along with her wonderful hygienist Zoila. Best throughout and gentle dental cleaning I’ve ever had. Dr. Kumar was very nice and friendly. She explained everything and answered all my questions. Looking forward to start my treatment and improve my Oral Health with them. Highly recommended.

Doctor Kumar is the best dentist I’ve ever had! We all have that common concern about finding the right dentist, the past five years in New York that’s all I would hear in the break rooms at work and among friends, it’s usually hard to find someone you can trust to care for your health. I am happy that I finally found a doctor that takes time to listen, explain, make you feel comfortable and make the experience as smooth as it can get and most importantly have an outstanding result. I would recommend her to all my coworkers and friends to share my relief in this long search… Her assistants are very professional as well and the lady that did the cleaning was outstanding! About the location, top of the Chrysler building?! Can’t get any better…

I am deathly, deathly, deathly afraid of dentists. So much so that I have ‘serially’ visited many dentists all over the five boros for years – going once and then never answering their calls for follow up appointments ever again. Once I had my daughter though, I knew that I had to lock down finding someone I trust because I would eventually have to find a dentist for her. Conveying all of this to Dr. Kumar, I must say she was extremely understanding. I knew I had root canal work that had to be done, and Dr. Kumar’s specialist Dr. Yanover was the guy to perform both of them. And while the out of pocket expenses were a bit costly, albeit due to my neglect of having done some of this work sooner, I must say that to FINALLY have fixed a problem that I’ve dealt with for YEARS feels pretty damn good. Dr. Yanover was so excellent that he checked in on me the whole weekend after getting my root canals just to ensure that I was okay and comfortable. My crown process with Dr. Kumar has been nothing short of great as well. Plus, I’ve caught up on some pretty awesome Netflix shows while being there. 😉 In all seriousness, they’re a really superb team from Annie the receptionist all the way up to Dr. Kumar. After MANY years of searching, I think I’ve finally found the one. 🙂

I was recommended to Dr. Kumar from a friend about 6 years ago. If you knew me at all, I am DEATHLY afraid of the dentist. I get really scared and anxious and sometimes have panic attacks at the sound of the drills in the dental office along with that very sterile smell. So you can imagine my hesitation even though I really trusted my friends judgement. But sadly, I had to go. My teeth haven’t seen a dentist in years and I knew I probably had to have work done even down to the small sensitivities I was having eating sweets and drinking liquids 🙁 First, Dr. Kumar’s front desk team was SO nice. Annie is the BEST. So accommodating and very very patient with me. Booking an appointment was a breeze since it was tricky for me to leave work mid day. The fact that she can be available on Saturdays is a blessing. When checking it, they greeted me and I didn’t feel like I was about to die in the room so that helped. And then finally meeting Dr. Kumar was the most nerve racking because I had to admit to her that I was really bad at regularly seeing a dentist so I can’t imagine what she’s going to find in there. I told her about my anxiety towards dentists and she really wanted me to feel comfortable and at ease. She suggested that if it helped, for me to put headphones on and play music and if she needed to say anything to me, she’d tap me. I thought that was a really nice touch and I did exactly that. My X-rays were a breeze. The staff I guess knew to stay really calm with me! And Dr. Kumar sat and explained every tooth in the x-ray so I understood what needed to be done. Needless to say, I had a few cavities and was in desperate need of routine cleanings. When it came time for my follow-up filling appointment, thats where I almost wanted to lose my sh!@t out of sheer fear. But yet again, just from my first appointment, Dr. Kumar and her whole team anticipated my arrival and made sure I was feeling comfortable. She was great at focusing on one side of my mouth first for the first appointment so I wasn’t numb in my whole mouth. (Yes yes, I had cavities on both sides.) And since the drilling was the worst part for me, thats where headphones played a key role for me. With me being able to feel calm and her team being a huge help, the fillings took little time. Best when the patient is at ease right? After, the checkout was painless (best part!). Dr. Kumar prepared me to know that I was going to experience some soreness when the numbing wore off and that I should be careful when eating as I couldn’t quite feel my tongue or lips and eating could result in biting them. She was right – I bit my tongue before the numbing wore of 😛 But after, the cavities really lasted. After some basic wear and tear through the years (I grind my teeth), she was great to ensure repair to existing fillings happened seamlessly. And I actually haven’t had any new cavities 🙂 I guess trust goes a long way and now I do a better job making sure my teeth are good when I see her! (Trying to make my dentist proud and all.) If you want someone who is thorough, good at communicating what needs to be done, and then gets it done, I highly recommend Dr. Kumar and her team. And this is coming from someone who was a dentist-phobe. Hope this helps! -D

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Kumar for about 2 years now. She is a very friendly professional doctor, who’s attention to detail is exceptional. She always looks out for the very best for individuals in her care. I cannot say enough about how pleased I am after every visit. The staff is very attentive and always cheerful. The office is very cozy and modern and welcoming. The environment in the waiting room is almost like a mood lighting system, which I enjoy. Very easy location to get to in midtown, not too far from Macy’s. Come in and experience a very pleasant day. Frederick G.

Going to the dentist is one of the biggest fear that since I was a kid. Probably thats why i ended up with crooked teeth. The dental offices scare me alot. But as you walk on to this place it feels more cozy. You dont have the vibe of monotony as you walk in. It feels welcoming and its clean. All the staffs are great. They explain you the stuff in simplest way that you can understand i.e without the big medical terms that you have to google later while u waiting for the train. They are understanding and listen well to your problem and give you an analytical decision that suits your need. For me it broke the stereotypical fear that I had about the dentist office and will be visiting often. Overall its was a great experience and I would highly recommend this place.

Dr. Kumar and her team are the best!!!  I have always had a fear and anxiety of dentists.  But with Dr. Kumar all of that fear and anxiety has gone away.  I know that I am in a professionals hands that cares about their patients.  She takes the time to explain to me what they are doing (unlike other dentists that I have been to in the past).  I have been going to Dr. Kumar for about a year now and I have nothing but the best to say.  Her staff is professional and attentive.  The offices are great (can’t beat the view from the Chrysler Building).

Dr. Kumar has been my dentist for about four years now, and I am still so happy to have found her! I feel very safe with her because she explains everything and is very thorough. It is very refreshing to meet a dentist who will talk me through everything and give me the reasons why certain things are important or are her suggestions for me. Before I started seeing Dr. Kumar, I had been told that the only way to fix my misaligned teeth was with a surgery to re-align my jaw since I was beyond the point of braces being able to fix anything. I talked with Dr. Kumar about that when I went for my first appointment with her, and though I had only gone for a regular cleaning and check-up, she took the time to investigate and consult with other dentists and veneer companies to see if my case was a severe as I had been told before by two different dentists. She came back to me with a solution, and she explained how it would be different than a usual veneer placement because of my bite, all the risks involved, and why I had been told it wasn’t possible in the past. I knew that I might run the risk of having a veneer come off because of my bite and history of nightly teeth grinding, but she explained everything with such detail and was so determined to get it right that I decided to move forward with the procedure. After several weeks with my new veneers, one did come off when I (stupidly) bit a hard chip. She re-examined my bite and suggested that we redo them with after reducing more of my natural teeth, and she was able to cover the new set under the veneer company’s warranty. I was sad that I’d have to go through the whole process again, but she had been very forward and honest with me about the risks of doing it in the first place because of my bite and jaw alignment, and I knew that she wouldn’t put me through removing and redoing my veneers unless she was sure that it was going to be for the results I wanted. So we redid it, and I am so happy we did!!! I get compliments on my teeth and smile ALL the time. I even briefly dated a dentist, and he couldn’t even tell I had veneers until I told him! I have had them for over 3.5 years, and not a single thing has happened to them – no chipping, no movement, nothing. I usually don’t even remember that I have them. 🙂 Another thing to note – when I first started seeing Dr. Kumar, she was very insistent with me that I take better care of my gums via flossing, a waterpik, etc. I thought she was just being overly protective/preventive, but the second I saw my gums shift even the slightest bit after getting my veneers, I began to understand what she had told me in my appointments. I started to take care of them as she directed me, and now they look great. I didn’t realize before that I had little rings of irritation on my gums just above my teeth until she showed me. Prior dentists had just told me to floss and moved on, but she went through the extra step of explaining to me why the preventative step now would save me so much in the long run. I can’t recommend her enough. She’s a great person and trustworthy dentis
