Dr. Halim is an amazing dentist!  My whole family used Dr. Stallsmith for years and we were nervous about a switch but Dr. Halim has been a wonderful new dentist. He saw my daughter for an emergency visit on a Friday night and was absolutely wonderful with her.  We are very pleased with Dr. Halim and highly recommend him for the whole family.

Dr. Halim is the best dentist I’ve ever went to. He’s extremely honest and up front and was there for me when I had an emergency issue. He makes sure that you’re comfortable during the procedures and does anything he can to alleviate any pain you may have. His staff is just as amazing! They always have a smile on their faces and make sure you have everything you need and respond immediately to any questions or concerns you may have. I’ve now found my forever dentist.

Dr. Halim and his staff are beyond professional and helpful. They guided me through my first filling, putting me at ease and completed the procedure with no discomfort. I was a bit anxious about dental visits during COVID but they are taking all the necessary precautions and I felt completely safe during the procedure. Very happy to have found such a great dentist in my neighborhood!

I had a great experience at this office. I was still traveling back to my home state for care, but not getting there for dental work as often as I should. As a result I hadn’t had a cleaning for a good while! I was very pleased that this office was willing to submit claims to my dental insurance company, although I did have to pay the full amount up-front–but better than many DC dentists who won’t even consider filing a dental claim for you. Dr. Halim was very thorough in reviewing my medical record and the hygienist did a great job. From the friendly greeting at the front desk when you enter to the classic jazz playing on the sound system to offering you sunglasses so you don’t have to stare into that bright overhead light while you’re in the chair, this was about as good as a dental visit can be!

I just had an emergency visit with Dr. Halim. It went really well! All the precautions were taken and I felt very comfortable. Everyone was very professional as well. Our entire family are clients since he opened the office and are very pleased with the service we receive each time we go.

If I could give Dr. Halim and his staff 10 stars I would! I first started seeing Dr. Halim about a year ago when I started my Invisalign treatment. Dr. Halim is by far the most knowledgeable, diligent, responsive, and kindest doctor I have been to. He walked me through every step of the process, not leaving out any details or hidden costs. I have since moved to Mass and I have flown back to DC on several occasions to remain under his care during my treatment. Dr. Halim is well worth the extra travel and I will continue to see him- even being a plane ride away. I HIGHLY recommend him. I’d be remiss not to mention his supportive, welcoming, qualified office staff, as well!

Just going to echo what everyone else said. The office atmosphere makes you feel totally at ease(I am a big baby) and you almost feel like you’re in a bed and breakfast. The office staff is warm, professional and genuinely seems to care. Everyone made me feel at ease and they are willing to work out payment plans. Thanks guys!

Nishan Halim and his team are STILL the best I’ve ever found. I’ve reviewed them before but can’t help saying so again. It’s hard to find a practice that is so consistent in quality of care, friendly and attentive staff, and state of the art equipment and procedures. I had been a patient of the previous owner/dentist, Dr. Stallsmith, and loved this small ‘homey’ office with its warm staff.  So glad to meet Dr. Halim and find he has improved on already great service.  At 66, I was a very reluctant convert to the orthodontic work he recommended; however, his detailed explanation, together with witnessing others with late-in life dental issues, convinced me to proceed.  Now, almost 2 years later and almost finished, he has coordinated closely with the orthodontist to address my issues, discussed my dental treatment plan before implementing, and they have both worked to meet a tight deadline that I faced.  I could not be happier with the result.  Highly recommend Dr. Halim!

I’ve had a lot of dentists in my life and I can honestly say that my visit to Nishan Halim DMD was the best dental experience I have ever had. To start, the office is located at street level in an actual DC neighborhood – Capitol Hill – rather than a large office complex. That set a good, accessible tone, right away. The front desk staff is personable and welcoming, the hygienist was friendly and communicative about exactly what she was doing, frequently checking to see if I was comfortable, etc. (Nice.) Dr. Halim took all the time needed to talk through my digital images and explain what we were looking at. He was clearly interested in what mattered to me, and more informative in discussing options than any dentist I have ever encountered. I had been hearing great things about Nishan Halim, and now I can add my enthusiastic voice to the crowd. Who knew that going to the dentist could be an uplifting experience?!

I had a very lovely experience at Dr. Halim’s office. The employees were all very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Moreover, everyone made me feel comfortable respected, and answered all of my questions. The ambiance of Dr. Halim’s office felt woodsy modern chic and everything in the office was super high tech and up-to-date. Their attention to detail was evidenced by their slightly lemongrass scented latex gloves. Dr. Halim explained my teeth to me and options for treatment. He never forced me to take an action one way or another and was very kind and patient.

I visited Dr Halim for a second opinion on some dental work that had been recommended to me. (He concurred with my dentist’s assessment, by the way). He x-rayed and examined my teeth and used a pen-like camera to show me what he was seeing. I felt very comfortable with him. At Dr. Halim’s I have always been greeted with courtesy and warmth by everyone on the staff. Treatment is described in an understandable way by Dr. Halim and his hygienist. You leave the experience with a clean, well taken care of mouth and a willingness to come back again!

I have worked in the dental field for many years, most recently for three periodontal surgeons. We worked very closely with Dr. Halim on many of his implant cases and we were always very pleased with the result of his work and the all around quality of his cases. Dr. Halim is not only a caring doctor with an uncanny ability to make patients feel comfortable in the dental atmosphere but he is also at the top of his profession. We were very sorry to lose him. Our loss in Connecticut is clearly Wash D.C.’s gain.

Nishan Halim is terrific. He cares deeply about quality of work and patient comfort and care. It is great to have a neighborhood dentist where each person is known by name and probably also lives or works on Capitol Hill. Feels a lot more personal than going downtown to a big office building for dental care. Love it!

I have been going to Dr Halim’s office for the past few years and have always had top quality service. The front desk staff and hygienists are incredible, and Dr Halim goes above and beyond for his patients. I told him that I was hoping to have some work done on my smile in time for my upcoming wedding, so he made sure to get me in right away. Not only am I thrilled with the outcome, but he ultimately ended up doing some additional work on my teeth to make sure they looked perfect, with no added charge. I couldn’t be happier with my experience there!

Great dentist who really cares about giving his patients quality care! He’s my tops in Capitol Hill for sure. He does not do insurance but his prices are reasonable and he does a great job. His office is really cute, too, and displays lots of local artwork. I love it when a business really integrates itself into the neighborhood like Dr. Halim’s office does.

Even though Dr. Halim’s office is mid-way between my house and my office, making it super convenient, I’d go out-of-network to go there regardless (they aren’t on my insurance). I really love the quaint, neighborhood feel of the office, but most importantly Dr. Halim and his team are incredibly pleasant people. I really appreciate Dr. Halim’s holistic approach to dentistry; on my first visit I was able to talk to him about some neck/shoulder issues which seemed irrelevant to my teeth, but he still cared to hear about them and even referred me to a couple local therapists (without pushing them on me at all; he just wanted to help me find a solution to my problem). The office is super welcoming, well-decorated with great art/photography, and my teeth leave feeling super happy!

Fantastic dentist! Takes the time to give detailed and easy to understand explanations for the common person on what he is doing and why he is doing it. They all seem to really care for their patients and have reasonable pricing. Great location on Capitol Hill. I highly recommend.

Dr. Halim is a terrific dentist. What really set him apart for me was how carefully he explained to me everything about my oral health, including using specialized imaging equipment that allowed me to see and understand all of the x-rays and images he took in real time. He also spent time finding out exactly how I brushed and flossed, and gave me specific guidance that increased effectiveness. His office staff is very pleasant and professional. I really appreciate Dr. Halim and highly recommend him!

I think Dr. Halim’s practice is superb. He is very knowledgeable and up-to-date on the latest developments in dentistry, and he’s also thoughtful and collaborative about when to take action and why. Dr Halim has the easy manner, the skills and the empathy that make the dentist experience a breeze. Dr. Halim recently saw my 100 year old mother. He was recommended as he was at ground level so no stairs. We felt so fortunate to work with Dr. Halim and his staff. From the moment we walked in the door each person we met and worked with was concerned about providing my mom with the best care possible.  I can’t recommend Dr. Halim enough. Dr. Halim takes a “whole patient” approach to dentistry and reaches out to colleagues in associated fields (orthodontics, periodontics), not only to develop a long-term treatment plan but to then regularly consult and review as needed.  He was willing to spend as much time as needed to help me understand the choices I had for some reconstructive and cosmetic dentistry with a singular focus on my long-term dental health.  I’ve been so impressed by his professionalism and care and recommend him without reservation. His office is well run too.

I liked the doc and the place. It was a nice facility in an old shop nestled in the row homes of Capitol Hill. Staff was professional and kind. The doctor was informative and presonable. I wasn’t in the market for cosmetic dentistry, just a dentist, so I think Dr. Halim and his staff suit both regular family dentistry needs as well as cosmetic dentistry needs perfectly. I’m glad I found this office.

Excellent experience. Dr.Halim is highly trained and at the top forme in his field. He explains his treatments in detail with specific rationales for the individual. He expertly carries out his craft (art). He has inordinate patient empathy which he credits to his mother who practiced nursing for 32 years. All together with the well-trained staff, the elements conspire to create perfection.

Such a relaxing experience. State of the art tools but still having an honest, caring dentist and hygentist is really nice. Best equipment and best people who show they care is something hard to find. The ladies at the front desk were happy to see me. Not like going to an office where you’re a commodity. Dr. Halim has found a way to see every patient, but never make you feel like you’re not the only one. Dental care is not as expensive as I thought. And Dr. Halim never tried to pressure or use any tactic beyond honesty…and it was genuine. You can tell. This is the kind of care you had before corporations and money took over.
