I had very bad experiences with dentists in the past and had a terrible phobia of them. I came here and he is the best. No pain and such a calming and understanding staff. I recommend him to anyone. As a person in recovery he was very understanding and caring to help me with no narcotics. Great job from tooth extraction to a root canal. I felt nothing.

WOW !!!!! What a wonderful group of people. Very compassionate about everything. DR Shawn is by far the best dentist I have ever been to. Never a question on what is being done as they go above and beyond to make sure you understand everything before the work is performed. I would highly recommend this office to anyone. Dan Cook

We have been seeing Dr. Eckstrom since 2003 I think. He has always done the absolute best dental care. You know when you get a filling and it just doesn’t quite seat right. A bit too high and you don’t want to make another trip in to the office? This never happens with Dr. Shawn. Friday my husband was complaining of a tooth ache. He is not a complainer so, I knew there was something serious going on. We called the office and left a message on a Saturday morning. I thought maybe Dr Shawn or another dentist would be on call. I was right. He talked to my husband for quite sometime and said he would see if he could get his staff to come in. He called right back and said we were on for a Saturday appointment!!! He spent 4 long hours working on my husbands tooth that would have ended him up in the hospital. It turned out my husband had an abscessed molar that was necrotic. One of the root channels had calcified closed! Dr Shawn spent most of the time trying to drill through to make sure that everything was going to heal up nicely with no infections. He prescribed meds to make sure my husband was on the mend with a successful root canal! One of my personal experiences included him calling me at home in the evening to check on my pain levels. His office staff are amazing, so friendly and knowledgable! His office also bills insurance and is super helpful! I just cannot say enough good things about him and the staff. I love going there and actually wish I had more appointments so that I could hang out and chat with Kelly, Shannon and Margaret! Fun people!

From the front desk , to the hygienist , to the Doctor , everything was excellent ! I am extremely happy with the care I received at Northwest Eugene Family Dental. I will be using them as my primary dental care provider and I HIGHLY recommend them . They will treat you with respect no matter what your oral health care needs may be . Jenny, the hygienist, is down-to-earth & personable, upbeat, considerate. She makes sure you’re comfortable (not like some that you have to ask), pauses if she thinks anything might be causing you pain & is always unquestionably gentle, yet knows how to give time to produce a good & thorough, detail-oriented cleaning. For years before going to Jenny & having cleanings elsewhere, my teeth didn’t feel slippery clean afterwards like I originally would have prior. I’d thought maybe hygienists were using different polishers. Nope, that wasn’t why. Jenny’s cleanings leave you with that slick, slippery clean feeling so I’m just assuming it’s how well she does her work! Go Jenny!

I am always so happy about my experience at Northwest Family Dental. Hayley, the receptionist always makes me feel special and heard. She is super friendly and will always go above and beyond to accommodate all my requests. Dr. Eckstrom is very gentle and always takes some time to explain all the procedures thoroughly and makes sure I am never in pain although I have very sensitive teeth. Yasmine, Jenny, and all the staff are very friendly, efficient, and are definitely passionate about their work. It definitely shows. Thank you for making my experience always a wonderful one!

Dr. Eckstrom is a master of his trade. His dedication to doing exceptionally high quality work, staying at the leading edge in the industry, and his bedside manner make him a phenomenal dentist. His staff is amazing – they work together as a cohesive team providing exceptional care. And finally, his office is technologically advanced – large screens in every room showing, in high detail and clarity, your x-rays and panos as well as his plan of action. If you want the best, Dr. Eckstrom should be your first call.

I have went to the same dentist office for the last 22 year’s and recently switched to NorthWest Eugene family, and am beyond happy with my decision! They are very thorough and get you in quick, as they are very flexible, not to mention personable. They do quality work, as they are up-to-date on the most current practices for the best longitudinal results. And as if that wasn’t all you were looking for, they also are very affordable and willing to work with you. I am never switching back to my old dentist! I will be a long time patient here after only 2 visits with them!

Dr Eckstrom and his staff are great! They are so professional, kind and have a modern, state of the art office. I had never seen pictures of my own xrays before, but they put them up on a tv screen while you’re there. I wish I’d found them years ago! Dr Eckstrom is on his game, and noticed things my previous dentist had to have seen but never mentioned. Shawn said he couldn’t in good faith just let them go, which instilled in me even more confidence in his abilities to take good care of me and my smile. I’ve never been a fan of getting my teeth cleaned as, due to teeth sensitivity, it’s usually a white knuckle painful experience. But Janel is so sweet and considerate, she makes what is normally a very stressful experience for me tolerable- Which is huge in my book. Also, its just a little thing, but their office doesn’t have that dentist office smell! Everything about this place is very refreshing compared to my previous dentist. I would definitely recommend them!
