This is by far the best Dentist all around !It’s wonderful to find a dentist that is kind and trust worthy and that you look forward to visiting! I am watching the show on Lifetime and the first thing that popped in my head was my Fiance. He has been having really bad dental problems for the last 12 years. He has had hip surgery because of his teeth infections. The infections in his mouth have caused him to be hospitalized for weeks and had gone into his hip, where he couln’t walk, he now has a 7″scar where the doctors cut open to remove an abscess. We don’t have the money to take care of this and it breaks my heart that this has put a strain on his self esteem and he has such a great way of talking to people and now that he has lost so many teeth, he is not able to talk to people face to face like he use to and it breaks my heart because he could make people happy with his profession. NYC Smile Design has basically become my second home this past year as I was getting treatment with Dr. Mello. The whole staff are so caring, always want to make sure you feel comfortable, so easy to get appointments…and honestly they are fun! (Never thought I’d say that about a dentist.) Dr. Mello made all my smile dreams come true, I know that sounds very corny…but when you hate your smile you laugh a little less and smile only when absolutely necessary. Life is a little less shiny when you have to try not to smile. After years of going to different cosmetic dentists only to be disappointed with the results, Dr. Mello was the first to actually make a difference and listen to what I wanted. She has a great eye (like an artist), and you can tell she is as happy as I am with the results…She cares about the results, and goes above and beyond to achieve the best results, no matter how hard the situation in front of her is. Being a child in Ireland in the seventies meant that I had been traumatized into a state of panic at the very mention of a dentist by the time I was ten. As a result I stayed away from dentists for most of my adult life. Add to that a two pack a day cigarette habit and a couple of decades of alcohol abuse and by the time I was forty the inside of my mouth resembled an unkempt seventieth century european graveyard. Seven years ago, I started cleaning up my act, first went the booze, then the smokes, but the teeth remained and boy did they hurt; not just physical pain, though that was bad enough, but the psychic pain of walking around with a mouthful of teeth that needed to be hidden at all times. I had stopped smiling in public. Here I was feeling better than I had in years with a baby daughter who filled me with joy and I was paranoid about smiling in public. One day in an act of desperation I googled “Smile” and “Dentist” and “New York City”, I found Smile Design. I looked them up, they seemed way out of my league, even if I could afford to go for a consultation I thought there’s no way I could reveal the inside of my mouth to a dentist, they’d call the dental police on me, they’d have me executed if they got a glimpse of the neglect I concealed daily with clamped lips. But I needed to do something, so I wrote to them, I sent them a picture of my teeth, I told them I needed help and that I couldn’t afford the work needed to correct the trauma in my mouth. Then something miraculous happened; they invited me to their office. I went. I met Dr Tabib and Dr Mello, and they put me at ease instantly. I liked them. They were nice people. I felt a sense of trust that I’d never experienced before in a dental office. Then they told me something that has changed my life, they told me that they would take care of my teeth for free….YES…YOU HEARD THAT RIGHT…FREE. I cried in their office that day, it still brings tears to my eyes. When you witness an act of generosity like that it opens your tear ducts, it opens your heart, and it made me smile. I made a short movie documenting my own life at that time, in it you get a sense of what the transformation meant for me. I wanted to honor the gift artistically to the best of my ability. After I got my teeth fixed my smile returned in full force, I met a girl and fell in love, we got married in Central park a couple of months ago, Dr Tabib and Dr Mello were there with us to share in the joy. They are no longer just my dentists, I am so grateful to know them now as friends. Two of the most amazing people I have ever met. You need a dentist? Don’t hesitate; call these people right away. Great experience! I’ve been coming here for years. Caring and professional dentists that know what they’re doing. Very friendly staff too. Dental equipment is continuously updated with the latest and greatest technology. The dentists and staff make you feel so comfortable like you are at home; they constantly check on you to make sure you are alright and at ease. Some of the complimentary amenities they offer include: hot and cold beverages in the waiting area; toothbrush, toothpaste, lotion, and perfume in the bathroom; and music and TV in the patient rooms. I am do comfortable there that I could fall asleep while they work on me…..that’s how comfortable it is there! I highly recommend these dentists to anyone!

NYC Smile Design is truly one of a kind practice! Everything is fantastic from two artist-dentists to staff to work being done. I am with Dr. Mello for a bit over 3 years and have to admit that any work she has done is absolutelly unrivaled by any other previous I have done in NYC and Europe. Her work is impeccable, durable, and aesthetically perfect. They also make my visit feel like visiting friends every time. Always caring, professional and friendly, with patient’s best interest in mind. It really helps making one at ease and happy walking out thinking that today I have done something good for my dental health. I haven’t had any work done by Dr. Tabib yet but suspect I will at some point. You should really look at the instagram-documented miracles they performed on some teeth. Their profile is quite impressive and fun to follow.

I discovered this dental office through a friend who had gotten his invisalign from there. I was impressed by the quality of work done on his teeth so I asked him about his dentist. Now as for my own personal experience with NYC Smile Design, I have to say that it has been very good. The pros are self evident. They are courteous, professional, clean, and knowledgeable at what they do, and most importantly they get the job done correctly. As for the cons… Well I haven’t experienced any yet. Either way, anything outside the treatment of your teeth is auxiliary so even if there is a con, it wouldn’t be a defining factor. . Would I recommend NYC Smile Design to someone else? Most definitely!
