Dr Perlman has impeccable bedside manner. He spends time discussing what the plan is for you that day in great detail. He also does his very best to put you at ease especially if you’re a nervous mess when headed to a dentist. His dental hygienist Martha was fantastic as well and made me very comfortable. Special shout out to Melissa at the front desk for making the scheduling so easy. For someone who “WAS” terrified of going to the dentist, I am scared no longer. Thanks smile spa team!

Dr. Perlman is great, especially if you fear going to the dentist like I do. I am a total anxious mess when it comes to having dental work done but Dr. Perlman has now done two root canals on me and they were totally pain free! Seriously, PAIN FREE!!! He is very generous with the anesthetic numbing medicine and is constantly checking to make sure you are comfortable and feeling ok while he’s doing his work. The entire staff is exceptionally friendly and everyone makes sure you have a pleasant experience. The office is calm and modern and the equipment and technology up to date. What I really like are the little things they offer that make a big difference when you’re feeling anxious such as sunglasses to keep the bright light out of your eyes, stress balls to squeeze, and even headphones and an ipod to listen to whatever music you like. Dental phobics, stop procrastinating and go get your teeth taken care of by Dr. Perlman and his team!

I was having a terrible dentist appointment and possibly the worst day of my life when I met Dr. Perlman, and he literally stepped in and made my life better! When I met Dr. Perlman, I was extremely disappointed in the outcome of my smile. I was unhappy and felt uncomfortable and unheard. It felt like no one understood me. However, Dr. Perlman stepped in and instantly saw what I was complaining about and gave me comfort that it could be fixed. He has a keen eye for this work! Dr. Perlman stepped in, evaluated my situation and immediately recognized and understood my frustrations. It was such a relief to hear him acknowledge why I was unhappy. From the first evaluation to the last, he was there every step of the way. The outcome of my smile is a complete transition (check out the pics), and everything looks unbelievably natural. But what did it for me was the amount of time and care Dr. Perlman put into my case. I had to basically redo my entire smile at the top, which I wasn’t happy about. This was a long and frustrating process. However, Dr. Perlman made it better. He consistently checked on me after each appointment and truly gave me the attention I required. I needed to know that my doctor was doing everything he could to provide the outcome I desired, and Dr. Perlman did just that. Today, now that the entire process is over, I feel back to my natural and confident self. My smile looks incredible and I’ve already received compliments. Dr. Perlman is patient, attentive, kind, fun to be around and he is truly an expert in this field. I highly recommend Dr. Perlman! He took the best care of me and truly listened to my needs. I lucked out with having him as a dentist. P.S. I am a tough cookie, but Dr. Perlman managed my headstrong personality extremely well. If he was ever frustrated with my bossy, “fake dental expertise,” he did not show it one bit. He is a true professional!

This is, hands down, THE best experience I’ve had at a dentist’s office. I’ve had 3 procedures done and there has not been any pain. It’s just incredible. I never have any anxiety before or during my visits. It’s like a visit to the eye doctor. The office is clean, bright and modern. Staff is professional, personable and knowledgeable. I’m considering a move out of NY by 2022, but I’m not changing dentists. Theres no turning back. I’m a client for life.

First off, let me begin by saying I NEVER write yelp reviews — but after my experience with Dr. Joshua Perlman, I felt it was the right thing to do. Dr. Perlman is a great dentist, he does beautiful work and more importantly, he truly cares about his patients. The fact that he explains everything in great detail is not just for people who are very fearful of getting dental work done like myself, but also because he is a grade A professional at his craft. I went into his office (the office was immaculate) and was greeted by a very friendly staff and felt comfortable through the entire process. I would recommend Dr. Joshua Perlman and the NYC Smile Spa to everyone.

I would HIGHLY recommend this dental office to anyone and everyone!!! I have had some terrible dental experiences in the past and therefore have avoided the dentist at all costs. Since finding NYC Smile Spa, my outlook on going to the dentist has completely changed. I have had nothing but enjoyable experiences with the entire staff, especially Dr. Perlman. He goes above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable and happy and understand everything that he’s doing. I have a big fear of needles and was very nervous about getting my cavities filled but Dr. Perlman did such an incredible job, I didn’t feel a thing or notice any of the medicine being administered!! For anyone who is hesitant about going to the dentist, this is the place to go!!! I cannot recommend them enough, they’re the best!!!!!! Thank you for changing my outlook on dental work.

First dentist visit in 6 years was nothing to worry about after I met the amazing staff and team of medical professionals at NYC Smile Spa! As someone who has dental phobia, they worked with me to make me feel at ease, and didn’t have that lingering “doctor’s office smell” that can be off putting and nerve wracking. I really appreciated the time they took to talk to me, walk me through the cleaning and discuss treatment plans with me throughout the examination. Parking is a little difficult, but definitely worth the trip to Manhattan. Thank you so much for making a stressful health check a lot less stressful!

Really great first experience! I’ll try to be brief: I don’t like shots. I don’t know how they did it but they gave me novocaine without a shot, or somehow without me even filling a pinch. That’s a huge plus for me They let me know what was going on so I felt comfortable Explained my insurance and payments Felt listened to about my questions and requests Glad to have found them! It is with great pleasure that I submit this review and recommendation for Dr. Joshua Perlman. I’m not one to write reviews and I have a terrible phobia of dentists; however, Dr. Perlman is a gifted dentist with a great bedside manner. He’s very skilled, in fact – a perfectionist – who takes pride in his work. And he’s genuine and kind. Dr. Perlman and his entire staff made me feel at ease. The office is beautiful and clean with up to date technology. The front line staff were all very accommodating and welcoming. Kate, one of the dental hygienists was also great. Dr. Perlman took the time to get to know me and explained the different treatment options for the work I required. I decided upon getting a bridge and he artfully created a beautiful temporary – looks as good as the real thing. While executing his work, he always checks in with you to ensure that you’re OK – he’s a communicator with heart. He’s committed to giving you the best smile possible and is very detailed. As someone who’s been in the helping profession for nearly thirty years [I’m a licensed psychotherapist] I can honestly say that Dr. Perlman has it all – intelligence, skill, patience and kindness. It is without reservation that I highly recommend Dr. Joshua Perlman. May he continue to give his patients great smiles!

I do not enjoy the dentist, never have, who does? That changed when I found these guys. The receptionists are very friendly, the assistants are accommodating, and Dr. Josh Perlman was great, honest, and an excellent dentist. He explained everything he was going to be doing and why they were doing it. I’ve gone twice now, once for a cleaning and once for cavity fillings and both times I can confidently say were the most pleasant experiences I’ve had for both the procedures in a long time if not ever. This is a great, friendly, and comfortable environment and I’m happy to say I found my dentist for the foreseeable future. I cannot recommend them enough.
