Fantastic care and a great all-around experience! I’m, admittedly, a bit nervous around needles and with medical procedures in general, but Dr. T and his staff were AWESOME! I never felt rushed, all of my questions were answered, I was treated with kindness and attention, and the environment was relaxed and very comfortable. Hands down, having this procedure was the best dental experience I’ve ever had – and I’m not saying that just for the sake of this review. I would recommend this practice to anyone looking for great dental care in the Tidewater area and I’d like to thank Dr. T, Denise, and Rachel in the front office for providing excellent patient care and responsiveness. Dr. T even called and left a message to follow up which exemplifies Ocean Atlantic’s dedication to continuity of care.

I was terrified of the dentist and dental work before I went to Ocean Atlantic, but now I’m looking forward to my next visit. The entire staff is very friendly and personable, and Dr. Throckmorton did my procedure (upper wisdom tooth extraction) so delicately and efficiently, it was over before I knew what had happened. Also, my Medicaid was accepted, no problem.

I haven’t been to the dentist since 2016… I have always hated going to the dentist ever since I can remember. Everything about the dentist makes my anxiety go through the roof. Dr. Throckmorton was recommended by a close coworker of mine a few years ago. I never booked an appointment. Two days ago my tooth completely chipped in half. The only concern in my head was that I now HAD to go to the dentist, I have no other choice. I called this office on Monday afternoon, around 230, hoping I could get seen within a reasonable amount of time. I had no idea that they would get me in that Wednesday!! I was completely shocked, especially being a new patient, that I was able to get in within 48 hours! The day of my appointment, my anxiety was at 100. My hands were shaking when I walked in. I was instantly greeted by Dr. Throckmorton ! I explained to him how nervous I was, etc etc., and he was so laid back, calm, and easy to talk to and I instantly regretted not coming in on a regular basis, years ago! He is very personable and the whole vibe of the office is amazing. The music is great, the staff was very friendly and helpful, and it was an overall awesome experience! I love it there already! If anyone has bad anxiety and super afraid of the dentist like me… go see Dr. Throckmorton!! You will not be disappointed!

Dr. T and all the staff at Ocean Atlantic Dental are great. I have a serious fear of the dentist so I put off going. Eventually it was a must that I go and I chose this practice. I wish I had found them sooner. Rachel is always pleasent when you come in and Dr. T and Denise make me feel so comfortable each and every time I am there. They both are patient with me and answer any questions and/or concerns that I have. Dr. T has called me after a procedure to check on me which is a big plus to me. They truly care about the people that they are taking care of. I would highly recommend them to anyone, but especially to anyone that has any kind of fear of the dentist!!
