I honestly could not be more satisfied. Every interaction I’ve had with any member of Ohana dental  has been a pleasure and has served as reassurance that I am receiving the best service possible. I was completely lost when I was looking for a new dentist because realistically how do you go and find credible reviews on dentists? So I posted on a community based app, requesting any and all personal referrals and Ohana Dental was the most reoccurring name in Pasadena. I called to set up my initial visit in minutes. Eunice is exceptionally thorough, accurate and professional. She made me feel as if I had been their patient for years even though it was the first time I had ever spoken to her and over the phone on top of everything. Sharon was my hygienist and she was great! She Made sure that I understood my current situation and how she intended to go about it. Then during the process she made it sure that I remained comfortable and confident which was immensely appreciated. Dr. Kang was my dentist and I found out that he only schedules one or two patients per hour so he can spend his time to explain everything.

I had an amazing experience at Ohana Dental. I was referred to Dr. Kang and his staff after I moved out to Los Angeles by my classmate, and I am very happy with my decision. The office is very clean and orderly, and I was warmly greeted by the front office. As I sat, Sharon, the dental hygienist asked if I would like anything to drink but I declined kindly because of my nerves! Luckily, I had nothing to be nervous about. I know people don’t typically rave about their dentists or any teeth work experiences, but Dr. Kang had a very welcoming personality and guided me through each step of what he would be doing that day. I was very comfortable the entire time and it was a big plus that they even had Netflix to watch while he worked on my pearly whites! Absolutely going back and recommend!

Dr Kang is one of the best. I’ve always had bad teeth mostly because I like to chase pixy sticks with red bulls. And finish it if with some Abba Zabba. I used to brush my teeth like once a week. Needless to say, I’ve spent a lot of time at Ohana dental. I’ve never had a bad experience. Friendly, comfortable experience every time. Thank you, Dr Kang.

Fantastic staff, brand new space, and amazing doctor! Detail oriented, welcoming, and honest. Definitely the best dentist I’ve encountered.   The entire staff is bright and fun to be around!  They took the time to answer all my questions, made sure that I felt comfortable, and were just awesome.I was embarrassed that I haven’t been to the dentist in a while… but Dr. Kang was incredibly understanding, and told me he was just happy that I had decided to come.  He gave a thorough exam and came up with a very reasonable dental plan for our upcoming visits.  He’s great! Sharon, the hygienist, is awesome! She was very gentle and made sure that I was doing ok throughout the cleaning. I’ve never gotten such a thorough AND gentle cleaning. My teeth feel good as new! Looking forward to my next visit!!

Updating my review for COVID times! I wasn’t sure what going to the dentist was going to be like since the pandemic hit, but Dr. Kang and his team were so awesome and professional despite all of the new hoops they have to jump through to keep things safe. I scheduled my appointment over the phone and received a reminder call a few days before (which I appreciate). When I arrived, there were two signs on the doors with updated protocols for the office, including social distancing, no walk ins, waiting outside, and asking patients not to come in if they’re feeling sick. I was waiting outside and popped my head through the door to see if they were ready–they mentioned in the future to just give them a call so I don’t have to wait too long if it’s hot out. They took my temperature and then led me back to the room–they’ve restricted waiting room seating and have a big plastic divider between the wait room and the patient rooms. I saw Dr. Kang briefly and everything was a-okay dental health-wise, so I did my cleaning and was out the door in less than 40 minutes. I’m sure it was a lot of work to reopen and keep up with the new standards every day, but Dr. Kang, the hygienists, and the team are doing an awesome job. Thank you all!

My cousin who knows Dr. Kang from USC dental school recommended Ohana dental, so I decided to make an appointment. I really appreciate Dr.Kang his pleasant chair side manner, gentle touch and thoroughness as he shares observations, procedures and recommendations. I had some concerns and questions and he explained everything with me. There was no wait time and I didn’t feel rush at all at Ohana Dental.  The front staffs were very friendly and welcome. There were very helpful. Sharon is very gentle to clean my teeth so I didn’t feel a thing.  I will bring my family here and will recommend to my friends.

I mean, five stars across the board for any business is saying something. But five shiny stars for a dentist office? Now that’s impressive. The fact that this also happened to be the closest dentist to my house was totally icing on the cake (hypothetical cake, obviously, as the real stuff isn’t good for the pearly whites). Making an appointment was super easy–I called in and they were able to get me in the next week. They have a helpful text reminder system as well, just in case that dentist appointment somehow slipped off your calendar. I was able to do all of my paperwork digitally at the office and had virtually no way time when it came to seeing Dr. Kang. I really like Dr. Kang’s approach was to patient care–he and his staff are super genuine and give you all the time you need to talk about concerns, cosmetic stuff, whatever. After my x-rays and a helpful chat with Dr. Kang , they gave my teeth a good old cleaning and I was out and on my way.  Other reasons this office is five stars? It’s clean and bright in a calm part is Pasadena. I was able to walk but know the neighborhood well and parking is easy. They let you kick back in the dentist chair with a remote in hand to flip through the channels–a nice touch. Lastly. don’t forget to check in on Yelp for a free dental kit. Score! I found Ohana dental thru my best friend. He was so excited to share with me about his dentist. So, I called and made an appointment and that was very easy. I checked in with Berta as soon as I got there. There is no wait time at all. I actually went in little earlier to fill out the forms but it was paperless so it took me less than 5 mins to check in. The assistant took me to one of the rooms and took xrays. There was no discomfort whatsoever and it was very fast. He was very skilled. Finally, I met Dr. Kang who introduced himself and shared about his passion and wanting to treat everyone on like his family. In fact, two of his staffs were actually his family. He spent enough time to get to know me and asked me what I wanted for myself and explained all the different options. But nothing was urgent so he told me to think about what I wanted to do. It was very good education session with him. The hygienist her name is Sharon came in and she was very nice and gentle with her cleaning. I was overdue on cleaning but she was very nice about it and told me what I can do to make my teeth healthier. Overall, it was the best dental appt i have ever had. I’ll come back and will recommend all my friends and families to Ohana dental.

I’m sure everyone can see how many reviews I had written so far: yes, they are not many, (and I’m not really passionate about writing a review) but I had to write my review for Ohana Dental. I understand everybody has different experience with different dental office, if it’s related to how ‘painful’ it is. It doesn’t have to be someone having better technique than others, because the measurement of pain is not definite, and you can feel different from what I feel, even if we get the same treatment from the same person. But if its ohana that I’m going to, I wouldn’t hesitate as much, because I know they DO care of how I feel, what I say, and what my need is. First of all, It’s not hurtful at all, and when I made the minimized movement to ease my position, they stopped right away and asked me if I was okay. It’s not that ‘they-do-their-job-regardless-of-what-i-feel,’ but they really try their best to make patients comfortable. And I can feel that it’s not just they do it, but they do it from their hearts for patients. They care for patients’ financial needs as well. They are probably not the ‘cheapest’ dentistry, but I can see they have the best material around the town. (And I know it because they clearly explained it to me.) Sometimes ‘paying less now’ could mean ‘paying much more in the end.’ They understood that shouldn’t be the case, and they tried all they could to give me the best material, for the least money I had to pay. When I went to another dentistry before going to Ohana, they told me that I had to get an implant. But here at Ohana, they just treated me for what I needed. And when I asked if I have to get an implant, Dr. Kang asked me back why I should get it when I don’t have to. I think this is the most important reason that I go to Ohana. They don’t try to rip off from the patients, but they do such treatments only  if it’s really needed. This is the honesty that I saw from this dentistry, and this is the reason that I can trust Ohana. They are curing people’s teeth, not earning money as much as they can. I know it’s very long review, but I hope that it could help people to feel what I felt during my visit to Ohana Dental. They become your ‘family’ as their name states. The best dentist hands down! I have been staying away from dental offices since I was in teenage, because I had severe dental phobia. Also, it’s hard to find a dentist who you can trust. There are so many dentists in Southern California who are only after your money. Dr. Kang is a one of kind. He is not only caring but also perfectionist. If you have been avoiding getting your teeth checked because you were afraid, do not hesitate to call his office and make an appointment. You will want to stay with Dr. Kang until you get the smile you are looking for.

I am so thankful to have had the connection to get treated for my root canals and wisdom teeth extractions at Ohana Dental. I have been searching quite a bit for a trustworthy and affordable dentistry and that had led me to Ohana. I first came in to get four of my wisdom teeth pulled out and you can only imagine how scared I was… (I am pretty terrified of the dentist) I had first gotten my X-Ray taken and was told what I needed to get fixed as well. Dr.Kang had greeted me and explained to me about how the procedure would go + the cost for all the treatments. He was super genuine and I felt super welcomed. My wisdom teeth extractions we’re really difficult due to them being so deep inside my tissues and also growing sideways, but Dr.Kang took them all out without much pain. Literally the top two came out so quickly I didn’t even realize he took them out already! He always makes sure that I’m never in pain and always asks me if anything hurts- which really helps when you’re freaking out by the loud dental equipment noises…I would recommend this dentistry 10/10 and will be coming here for my future cleaning as well. I want to thank the staff, especially Deanna and Sharon for being so warm and welcoming as soon as I walk in! Everyone here is super friendly and always has a smile on their face which I absolutely love.

I visited Ohana Dental a couple of months ago and had a great experience. Easy 5 stars based on the following: Parking – Free parking in the single floor garage immediately south of the dental office entrance (right before the Metro PCS). Plenty of spaces available. Check-in – The check-in process was 100% electronic on an iPad and super easy. Facilities – Clean, modern, and well appointed. The lobby was equipped with comfortable sofas and a beautiful flat screen TV. Each chair had a flat screen TV mounted in front of it. Restroom was spotless. Everything looked new and sparkly! Staff – Sharon, the hygienist, gave me the most gentle, thorough cleaning I have ever had! I’ve had cleanings every 6 months for most of my life at a variety of dental offices, so I have had a range of experiences… if you hate going to the dentist because of painful cleanings… MEET SHARON! Dr. Kang was also funny, kind, and knowledgeable. He took the time to sit with me, discuss my concerns and gave thorough explanations of alternative treatment options without being pushy. Like the name of the practice, Dr. Kang and Sharon truly treat their patients like family. Kudos to them! Insurance – I believe all major insurance providers are accepted, but it never hurts to double check your specific coverage and what to expect. The staff at Ohana can likely look into this for you.

I highly recommend Ohana Dental! The facility was very clean and the staff were all extremely friendly and welcoming. This is the best place i’ve gone to for dental work. Clean – This place is super clean and well organized.  The bathroom is nice and has a great touch to it.   Staff – Staff was very professional and courteous.  Staff treated me with respect and explained each procedure as well as costs for treatment.  Going to the dentist can sometimes be stressful but the staff at Ohana made me feel at ease and treated me like family. Treatment – I was seen exactly at my appointment time.  I received deep cleaning and x-rays.  Sharon did a great job and I did not feel any pain (I know that can scare a lot of people).  She did a great job explaining the process and assessed my pain level several times. Overall, I highly recommend Ohana, there is ample parking in the structure and conveniently located near the 210 freeway.

Not really trusting my usual dentists in Korea town because they treat me not as their loving patient but as a business means, my friend recommended me Ohana Dental. I’m writing this review, hoping that this will help others in the search for a “trustworthy” professional dentist and hygienist! 🙂 So from the second I walked in, the staff was very welcoming and made me feel comfortable. Honestly, I wasn’t really impressed by this part because it’s where every dental staffs do. But on that day, I didn’t have time to brush my teeth before the visit so I explained it to the staff and she kindly handed me an “electronic” tooth brush with a tooth paste. And of course, I had such a fancy experience with the device. And btw, they have a parking complex right next door so you don’t have to spend an extra time to look for one. I have couple bad experiences with the previous dentistries. I’ve had bad incomplete root canal and crown on a molar that should have been root canal first done which caused me not to be able to eat with one side of my mouth for so long without knowing what the problem is! It wan’t that critical since I can still eat and use my teeth but what the previous dentistry explained me did not make any sense to me. All they said was it will be ok. Visiting  Ohana dental and when I sat down, they got me have an x-ray and Dr. Kang explained me in so much details and gave me some suggestions and respected me to choose what I would like to do instead of having me feel obligated to do this and that. I decided to wait and see till end of this year. Dr. Kang & the hygienist Sharon were fantastic! When I asked them that I am interested in teeth cleaning that I haven’t done for a little while, they explained me in details of the differences between the regular cleaning and the deep cleaning and I finally understood for the first time throughout my entire life haha. Also while Sharon was cleaning my teeth, she listened to my concerns and explained things to my level of understanding. Sharon is very personable and makes you feel comfortable.I definitely will be going back to this family-like Dentistry! I highly recommend Ohana Dental to everyone who is looking to find the BEST trustworthy dentist! (They also gave me lots of presents and I carry them with me all the time)

We always focus on the bad of things and sometimes in all the bad we forget about the good, the positive and the really great dentists. Dr Kang & Sharon are really a spectacular duo who have made going to the dentist a lot less scary. They understand that money doesn’t grow on trees and some of us can only come 10minutes before they shut the doors. They focus on the little things and make sure that you leave happier than you walked in. I had a chipped front tooth that has always bothered me but I never thought would be something I could fix unless I get a fancy fake tooth ? Dr Kang filled it quickly and actually made my smile look so beautiful! Sharon did a deep cleaning for me and from google searches( which is the worst thing to do) I was freaked out that I wouldn’t be able to eat for like a week. It was painless, and I literally walked out feeling like my teeth were brand new! They seemed so pearly and I got tons of compliments that my smile looked amazing! They genuinely care for there patients and you always can leave the office with a little toothbrush kit. Major plus for travels. I love this office and the experience is always great.

Don’t like to brag, but if there was a ‘reward’ for most difficult dental patient to ever have walked the planet: I’d win. If there was a grammy awarded to the most professional, knowledgeable and patient dentists: Ohana team would win. Hands down. Dr Kang, Sharon, every one of the employees in the Ohana office are A-team: knowledgeable, exceptionally attentive, professional. Their Dr-patient rapport is off the charts. The way they treat one another as well as their patience (with my war-zone levels of horror at…you know…suction wands…floss) indicates a level of integrity & commitment to excellence that’s often the exception these days. Not only did they do an amazing job on replacing my longtime veneers – they literally came in to the office on their day off b/c I was heading overseas. The veneers are perfect. Their prices are reasonable as well. But mostly – you know these people authentically care about their work. A+, 5 stars: best. dentists. ever.

Wow! I have not been any dental offices like Ohana. They do treat you like family. Eunice the front desk was very welcoming and kind to answer all my questions to fill out forms on the IPad, yes, they use iPad to check in so it’s paperless. I didn’t have to wait a sec to have dental assistant to call me in for x Ray and I usually have a hard time with x rays but he was very skilled so it was very easy. Dr. Kang unlikely like other dentists spent his time to go over everything. Most offices I have been to has many people waiting on the dentist so they always walk away and someone else comes in to explain stuff but Dr. Kang stayed and answered all my questions and he gave different options with exact price. There is no hidden cost at all with my experience. Sharon the hygienist was very gentle, so I didn’t feel much during deep cleaning. She showed me how to brush and flossed at the end of cleaning so she made sure that I was doing it correctly. Overall, my experience at Ohana Dental is extraordinary. They are definitely different from other offices.   I’ll definitely come back and recommend Ohana Dental to everyone I know.

All the staff are wonderful!! Dr kang you are the best !!!thank you so much for making me feel comfortable and be patient and gentle with me during my Root canal procedure. Your work is great!!! I have been to a couple diff dental offices around here but I always had to wait at least 30mins but Ohana has no wait time. Also, I was very impressed with their check in. Its paperless. Its not only making the process faster but also good for the environment. Sharon was the best hygienist because she was very gentle and dose her work with care. She was making sure that I was comfortable during deep cleaning. I thought i had a lot of cavities because of my previous dentist but i found out that i had no cavities. Ill definitely recommend Ohana to all my families and friends. I always schedule my mom.
