Dr. Findlay and his staff at One Market Dental CHANGED MY LIFE! I was in a bad accident a few years ago and lost the majority of my front teeth. I have been driving to Dr. Findlay’s office from Marin for 8 years now.  Dr. Findlay was recommended to me by a friend because I had not been to a Dentist in 7 years and was BADLY in need of help.  Twenty five and thirty year old silver fillings (a mouth full) that had cracked and or had decay. You get the picture.  Dr. Findlay first laid out a plan for me in order of priority,  which included a couple of crowns and replacing all the old silver with beautiful white porcelain. The whole redue was done in 4 stages over a 12 month period (to work with my budget) and each time I came back to the office it was a PLEASURE.  Veronica, Dr. Findlay’s office manager, was a delight! The office, modern and comfortable.  Dr. Findlay, so calming and skilled.  Great chair side manor. All I can say is I continue to go to Dr. Findlay and Dierdra (the Hygienist) because they continue to win me over with fabulous care and excellent customer service.

Dr. Findlay and Deidre, my dental hygienist have been the best! I have been a patient of theirs for over 10 years and highly recommend their dental services. My husband and I have been going to Dr. Findlay for years. He and his staff are all amazing. They are always friendly and knowledgeable. I have a crazy work schedule, which they always work around, even last minute (sorry guys). I’m surprised by some of these posts. Lets face it, having someone poke around in your mouth is never going to be a party, but Dr. Findlay, and Melissa (my amazing hygienist) have always made it the best experience.   I’m super particular about my teeth, and wouldn’t trust them to anyone else in the bay area. In fact, I had 3 minor fillings last year which I didn’t even need Novocain for! I refer all of my friends to this office!!

I must say that I read some of the negative reviews about Dr. Findlay while searching the web for his phone number and I actually signed up for Yelp to come to his defense.  Dr. Findlay is the best dentist I have ever been to.  I moved from NY two years ago and spent most of my life visiting some great dentists, oral surgeons and orthodontists the city had to offer and Dr. Findlay and his staff are head and shoulders above them. I was introduced to Dr. Findlay through a colleague because I had a veneer that had come undone.  He fit me into his schedule immediately, and tried to save my existing veneer to save me money before moving on to a new one.  We eventually had to replace the veneer, based on shoddy work by my former dentist, with a new crown.  The whole experience was very pleasant and he became my new Dentist. I’ve had multiple cleanings, fillings and exams since.  Dr. Findlay’s staff is expert, gentile, and thorough.  He employs far more advanced technology in his practice than I have ever seen with other dentists.  On top of that he is a really nice guy who is a pleasure to visit.  His office is immaculate, very convenient to my office, and on top of that his receptionist goes out of her way to be flexible on scheduling.  I often have to change appointment times due to changes in my schedule, and they are always great at accommodating me.  This is quite different from the usual wait two months for an open appointment. I have never experienced any pain with Dr. Findlay, and was quite shocked to see that others had.  I couldn’t give a better recommendation.  Dr. Findlay rocks!

Dr. Findlay is the BEST dentist I’ve ever had.  I could go on and on about how convenient their location is to MUNI and BART; or how friendly and accommodating the entire staff is; or the fact that I have never waited more than 3 minutes in their waiting room; or how awesome it is to have LCD TVs in EVERY portal. When it comes down to it, I don’t care about any of it, as long as I have a dentist that does good, honest work – and always keeps the patient in mind.  When there isn’t an asst handy to take my digital x-ray, he’s happy to do it himself – and its in the comfort of my own dental chair!  I don’t have to go down the hall, in a dark alley, with a heavy x-ray jacket “protecting” me from god knows what.  All the x-rays are digital and crazy easy.   And he doesn’t try to upsell me on unnecessary work – he takes the time to explain all the details and how important they are, or if a particular procedure could wait. Overall, I couldn’t be more pleased with everything at this office.  I highly recommend them to my friends and family.  I can’t believe that I actually look forward to the dentist.  I even continued to go after my new insurance did not cover them – that’s how much I love this place.

hmmmm…..what to say, what to say. i really never sign on to yelp anymore because i can hardly stand reading most (not all) of the reviews posted on this site, but i looked up dr.findlay’s review just for fun and was shocked/appalled/and laughing hysterically at some of the reviews included here. let me begin with why i came to dr.findlay, why i think the doc and his staff are beyond amazing, and why i laughed hysterically at some of you. i had an accident. i dance for a living (I feel i must clarify that i dance ballet and modern…i know what you’re thinking!) and i was sort of dropped…on my face…really hard… i managed to bite the floor coming down and break off both of my front teeth, exposing the nerves.  i went to my former dentist, dr.watson over at soma dental. he had to do two emergency root canals on my front teeth to save the remaining portions of them. he did a piss poor job. in fact, he accidentally yanked one of my teeth loose.. when i asked him if i would ever look the same again, he flatly replied, “no”.  he was late to my appointments, he cared very little about my situation and the physical pain ( as well as mental trauma) i was experiencing. he only became concerned for me once he botched my root canal…so yeah, i had to breakup with him, it just wasn’t working out for me. so after the trauma of that, the pain, the agony…blah blah…i picked me and my broken teeth up and came to visit my sister’s dentist that she has been seeing for years, in hopes that he’d have a brighter outlook for me. Dr. Findlay and his entire staff showed more consideration, empathy, and care for me then I’ve really ever experienced at any doctors office.  they worked with my work insurance although that was a rough situation, they assured me things would work out, and dr.findlay restored my belief that i would someday look the way i used to…which i think for anyone, means a lot dr.findlay and his staff cleaned my teeth, whitened my teeth, put a flipper in while my crowns were being made which in itself looked phenomenal, they looked at a personal picture i brought in to match the crowns with, and sent the crowns back to the lab three times to get them just right.  was any of this comfortable you might ask? the answer is no! of course it wasn’t! but this brings me to my last point, a little earlier then planned but regardless, it feels right to move on. visiting the dentist is not fun. in fact, things can go wrong.  but if you experience pain from dental work you’ve had done, i’m going to ask, really, i mean really, what were you expecting? it’s your mouth. a delicate little place that is sensitive and when being poked and prodded, will not be happy with you.  but pain is temporary.  i can’t speak for the people who have had such “horrible” experiences, but to everyone else, don’t believe the hype…i’ve had an amazing experience here and would recommend those i care about to visit this office. to finish my story, i got my new crowns, and two protective retainers to wear for work and for the night time.  i’ve kind of been a regular around the office as of late and will miss seeing dr.findlay and the staff on a regular basis.  dr.findlay restored not only my missing front teeth, but my confidence and my pride.  it’s crazy how two little teeth can mean so much, but he really understood and was patiently considerate of my needs and wants. i am writing this after having a performance tonight in which i was hit in the face by my partner and suffered ZERO damage because of the perfectly fitted retainer dr.findlay had made for me.  i truly believe in his work. without him, id never been able to do what i love ever again.

I moved to San Francisco last year and thankfully met Dr Findlay and his team (including their gorgeous therapy dog Romeo). I had an ongoing issue with one tooth and it was shrugged off by other dentists for years. Dr Findlay not only identified and resolved the problem, but took the time to really ensure I understood what was wrong. Turns out it was an easy fix! – I should add I have a huge fear of needles, but Dr.Findlay was patient and understood this and acted accordingly when delivering the anaesthetic. Considering it was a dental procedure, it was quick and painless. I opted to do Invisalign with Dr Findlay and couldn’t be happier with the results. This positive review could go on for days, but I’ll simply say- My smile has never looked so good and I can’t recommend Dr.Findlay and his team enough. I just finished a bone graft with Dr. Findlay.  It went much better than I expected.  I was nervous and tense.  The novocain shots were gently applied and when I needed more, Dr. F stopped and applied more.  He gave me a RX for pain meds but I didn’t even need anything more than Aleve after the procedure.  I don’t know why anyone would give this office a bad review.  Dierdra is the best hygenist.  I have visited this DDS since 2000 and would never change.

Where to begin…? I was in desperate need to have old work fixed from years ago as well as implant updated. To say I have a fear of the dentist is an understatement. I have a severe phobia. From the very first appointment Dr. Findlay and the entire team at OMDental mad me feel so safe and calm. The office is state of the art and a lot of the newest technology. No need to wait for X-Rays or even temporaries. They have some of the best Dental teams I have ever seen. I needed a lot of work done so we started in October of 2018 and finished up March of 2019. I started coming to this practice recently after having horrible dentist experiences with other dentists nearby. The team (Deborah, Joanna, Verna) and Dr. Findlay are the best to work with. They really know their stuff and have the patient in mind. I’ve never met anyone who knows billing as well as Joanna. The team here makes the clients feel more like family than as patients. They often sacrifice their lunch breaks to help patients. The new facility is gorgeous and clean. I always love coming to the dentist. There are just not enough adjectives in the dictionary to describe how seriously amazing Dr. Findlay and his team are. About 16 years ago or so, I was referred to Dr. Findlay by a good friend. My history with dentists was anything but positive, fueled by both my fear of dental procedures and genuine embarrassment over the pathetic condition of my teeth/gums. I had broken teeth, antiquated caps, botched-up root canals, receding gums and much more. On my first visit, Dr. Findlay spoke to me about my dental issues in a non-judgemental manner. He never once – not then and not now – has made me feel ashamed in any way about my lack of proper dental hygiene. Over the years, I’ve had more than $50,000+ worth of dental work done. So you can understand how seriously dilapidated my teeth were! Dr. Findlay’s team is ‘family’. We laugh, cry and chit-chat together. It’s just a darn special place. Taking that atmosphere and putting in the mix with top-notch, state of the arts dental care – it’s a win! I am so very grateful to Dr. Findlay for all he’s done for me (and my teeth). Dr. Findlay’s office is my all time favorite dentist office. From Veronica at the front desk who is the sweetest person ever and also a champ at handling insurance companies, to Sara, the dental assistant I worked with that was helpful and funny, to Dr. Findlay himself. Amazing. I went in for a consultaion for some cosmetic dental work a couple months ago after having been to two other offices. The other offices suggested long, strenuous, invasive procedures that would have me running all over town to different places acting as a liaison between different specialists and these things were going to cost me a fortune.  When I went to Dr. Findlay, he was able to provide a recommendation for a relatively non-invasive procedure with minimal steps that could all be done in his office and wouldn’t cost me my life savings. I was also told by the other two consultations that during the wait between procedures, I would basically need to smile with my mouth shut for photos for up to three weeks. Not with Dr. Findlay’s work. He (and Sara) fitted me with temporary veneers allowing me to feel confident until the final procedure. Dr. Findlay’s office itself is also fantastic. Clean, modern, comfortable. They have TV’s in each of the stations for easy review of x-rays and photos as well as satellite TV for those more anxious patients  I feel warm, welcomed and like a friend every time I go in there. You should go in and check it out too!

We all know going to the dentist sucks. We hated it as kids and few of us grow out of cringing at the sound of that drill or the sight of those instruments seemingly designed for and during the Spanish Inquisition. So the best we can hope for is that our dentist and their staff can somehow mitigate our deep-seeded phobia of those who concern themselves with our oral health. Dr. Findlay and his crew accomplish just that in spades. They have drilled, filled, crowned, and cleaned my choppers and have taken great care of me. Veronica always makes sure my head drags my teeth down to Spear Street when it is supposed to. Janice interprets the incomprehensible language my insurance company speaks. Dana and Lupe have both handled the unenviable task of dealing with me once in the chair with professionalism and, in my case, a necessary sense of humor. And I must not forget Melissa. She has removed ungodly amounts of plaque from my teeth (floss an I remain relative strangers) with minimum lecturing. Finally, Dr. Findlay himself… He plays it straight, takes the time to explain what is going on, and is cool as the other side of the pillow when he works. Now on a more practical note, the office itself is great. Very comfy waiting area with some fairly hip magazines. TVs by each chair so you can check out the news or a show while you are waiting for whatever dental glue or goop they’ve coated your teeth with to dry. Plus, it is a mere block from Embarcadero Station, so it couldn’t be handier for those of us who MUNI our way around the City. Oh, and every visit ends with swag. Sure, it’s dental swag, but swag is swag! Going to the dentist still sucks, but damned if the crew here comes as close as you can to making it tolerable.

First of all, the dentist and the dental assistants are fantastic. Second, Veronica at the front desk takes customer service to a whole new level. She greeted me by name (even though it was my first time there) when I came in and explained to me how the appointment would progress. Then, after I had been through x-rays, evaluation, and cleaning, she had a report ready for me regarding what and how my insurance would cover the work that needed to be done. She explained point by point every aspect of what they would cover and what I would have to wait for. My wife and I are both high end hoteliers, and have never encountered such service. The proficiency and willingness to explain the potentially tricky realm of insurance far exceeded not only our expectations but our epitome of service as well. Sure, it’s great that they have lcd tvs at all the chairs, but you go to a dental office to have your teeth done. They do your teeth to the nines and make you wish you were coming back the next day too. I can’t say enough about this office.

Part of having self confidence is to have the freedom to flash a winning smile with a great set of teeth.  And that’s what Dr. Findlay did for me.  Yes, he’s a little bit more expensive than the average dentist, and I drive all the way to San Francisco for it, but believe me, he is worth the money.  It’s been 12 years since I first had my veneers done by Dr. Findlay, and they’re as strong and still look great and natural as when I first had them. Only one veneer cracked and had to be replaced, but it was mostly my fault.  When we fell out of insurance temporarily, I had to go to two other dentists who did below par work and it was out of pocket.  I had to have Dr. Findlay redo the work when we finally got new insurance.  And so I’m back with the master dental artist, and I hope he won’t retire any time soon because I want to be sure I still have a nice loving smile for my future grandchildren!

i had a root canal done on my front right tooth and DID NOT feel a thing. *this* is how amazing they are!!!!!! in addition to that, we had some mix up with my insurance which resulted in an additional $300 charge, but because dr. findlay really cares about his patients (and the fact that my insurance company confused BOTH me & veronica), he waived it. they really bend over backwards to work with your schedule (at least with me, lol). for the longest time, i really wanted to get in office whitening, and once i heard about their options, my indecisive self had one too many questions over the phone. since thursdays (i called on a thursday morning) were their fridays, veronica (AH-mazing receptionist) first suggested monday for a consultation….pause…”unless you can come in today at 12:15?” OF COURSE I CAN! and the rest is history. well, not quite. my appt is next wednesday – talk about quick turn around time!!!!

This is a great place.  They are super professional and friendly.  With my travel schedule for work, I was having trouble getting in to get my teeth cleaned.   Veronica called me several times to offer me last minute options if I happened to be in town.  You can park right out front and they feed your meter without even being asked, and then don’t accept your money for it!  I arrived 5 minutes early, but they were ready to start.  Dierdra does a wonderful job, and given my pretty severe TMJ and limited jaw movement, her patience and skill made a huge difference when it came to having a pain free experience.  Dr. Findlay comes in after to check your teeth.  He gives honest, fair advice and he also happens to be one of the most handsome dentists you’ll ever see.  No, that doesn’t matter, but heck, since nobody loves going to the dentist, you may as well have the added benefit of a dentist who happens to be very nice to look at.  This is a 5 star place.
