For at least seven, maybe eight years this amazing Dental office has been my personal choice for full service dentistry. The entire staff is super professional, and highly qualified. I get my teeth cleaned quarterly by one of the best hygienists in the field. Ashley is the very reason why I would recommend Open Wide Dental as your next better choice for dental service. Thank you Dr. Durisek, and Dr. Jernigan for having such a nice practice.

As soon as I walked through the door and was greeted with such positive energy, I immediately felt comfortable. The professionalism, kindness of the staff and overall vibe of the awesome decor of the office I will never go to another dental office again. I have found the perfect environment and staff to help me achieve my goals for dental health, Thank you so much Open Wide Team! I love this office!! And I’m not just saying this because I work here. I’ve worked for several dentists in the past and I’ve never seen providers who GENUINELY care about what their patients need and want. Total judgment free zone. Also something I have not encountered in the past. Call the office and ask for me or come in and meet our friendly staff. Long story short: he knows his stuff and won’t try to upsell you procedures/stuff you don’t need. Your first appointment will be long but it’s worth it I promise. Subsequent visits are normal length of time. I’ve been to Dr. Durisek for 3 visits now and I’m so happy I’ve found a dentist I can trust. The first visit, be prepared mine lasted a good 2 hours but it’s the most thorough dental exam I’ve ever had, and I also didn’t fill out any paperwork before I arrived. My last cleaning was a quick 1 hour and I’m a bad flosser and also had x-rays. And my teeth feel 100% clean every time. Here is why I was compelled to write this review: a day after my last appointment I was experiencing tooth pain and Dr Durisek was able to immediately see me the next day, gave me a thorough look over of the trouble spot, said he didn’t see anything to be concerned about, a hairline crack in my super old filling that isn’t visible by the naked eye is within the realm of possibility so come back in a week if it still hurts, gave me some numbing gel and a fluoride treatment, and didn’t even charge me extra! He could have totally said I needed all this expensive dental work like redoing my filling and I wouldn’t know any better. At this point I’m guessing my bad flossing just made everything irritated after the cleaning. ALSO I told Dr Durisek the last dentist I saw tried to sell me all this crap like a mouth guard and he suggested I buy a cheap-o one from target to try and if I like it/chew through it, then consider upgrading to a legit custom one.

Open Wide Dental is the best Dentist I’ve ever gone to. Everybody there is extremely nice and caring. From the moment you walk in you feel the difference, from the warm welcome to the Zen Room (a waiting area you actually look forward to hang out in), to the dental suits designed for your comfort, to the unsurpassed expertise of the doctors and staff. The work they do demonstrates a passion for dentistry like none I’ve ever experienced. Rest assured no detail has been missed, but most impotently the level of workmanship is beyond exceptional. Open Wide Dental changed my life with a smile…… a smile I carry with me everywhere now reflecting not only bright healthy teeth but a renewed self confidence. I recommend Open Wide Dental, they will change the way you see yourself!

OK so I am not a fan of going to the dentist, not at all…but if I must go, and I must, then I will be sticking with Open Wide Dental. Not only is the decor unparallelled, but everyone who works there is SUPER nice, and they don’t EVER make you feel like a big fat loser just because you can’t afford to pay for all of your dental work in one shot, they work well with my insurance and have set me up on a treatment plan that I am able to manage. Definitely worth going to see Dr. D. Oh – and Teresa the hygenist is amazing…ask for her!

Open Wide Dental was the first dental office that I went to where I felt like family instead of just another patient. They have always asked me about my needs, and always take time to listen to my concerns and adjust properly. They work with me financially and help me to get the kind of dental care that I need within my limits of my insurance. I appreciate them and would recommend them to anyone!

Having a broken tooth , exposing the root, is no joke! It’s a pain I’ve never felt and hope to never feel again. I thank you so much for your help today. Called at 8am and was numb by 9:30. Had the tooth out by 11 and home recovering by noon. I had imagined a much worse day ahead of me knowing that businesses are usually booked on same day notice. Thank you all for you kindness, understanding, and quick response to help me out. I will be back.

Open Wide, all Administration and Medical Staff are beyond excellent. I have a lifetime of dental care, not only in 7 US Cities but also England, Germany, Poland, Austria, Moldova and Russia. Dentistry in excellent. At age 63 I have now had all of my Crowns Replaced due to years of wear. I am absolutely delighted with not only the professional, kind expert dental care and gracious Administrative leadership but also the quality of the dental work. I visited two other dentist in Phoenix prior to finding Open Wide Dental and Dr. Durasek. Excellent technology and long-lasting comfortable crowns.

You know how people say, “It was like a trip to the dentist” to mean something very unpleasant? In the case of this office, it should describe going on a world-class luxury cruise. The office, the staff, the process of check-in and billing–every part of the experience is a masterclass in how to run a business. And, the actual dentistry is excellent. I have been completely happy with each and every treatment and procedure. And did I mention there are massage chairs in the lounge??

I have been going to Open Wide Dental for almost 20 years. Dr. Durisek and his staff are always friendly, professional, and they have always treated me like family. You will always get the best and latest in dental technology. During the pandemic, they have done everything they can to protect their patients as well as their own lives. I am so glad that I found Dr. Durisek and his practice. The health of my teeth are glad too. If you need a dentist, tell them, Rickey Hart sent you, lol.

Everyone is super friendly and awesome, they explained every little detail and I am very happy with proposed Treatment. Dr Durisek is super friendly and professional, Nita was awesome and warm, and Theresa made sure I felt comfortable at all times, and she is super super friendly. I am always extremely anxious when I go to the dentist but this time I felt so comfortable and so happy! I would highly recommend anyone with anxiety issues over dental work to come here.

My children and I have been going to see Dr. D. since they were little. Now they are adults with kids of their own. The office staff has always been so helpful and friendly. Dr. D. always wants to ensure that you’re comfortable in his dental chair. The office is has up to date equipment. Also, to help you relax they have massage chairs, refreshments and snacks. I couldn’t image going anywhere else for my dental needs.

After ten years with another dentist, they made some changes in their office that, long story short, resulted in them aggressively pushing me toward $12,000 worth of work I did not think was essential and did not want to have done. I wanted a second opinion and, on the recommendation of an acquaintance, I went to Dr. Durisek at Open Wide Dental. I thought I’d get the second opinion and return to my then dentist more certain about whether I wanted them to do the work they were proposing or not. I was so impressed with Dr. Durisek’s approach to the issue with which I was presenting to him, that I knew I had found a new dental care home. Dr. Durisek’s examination of my teeth and assessment of my oral health was very thorough and he presented me with options for immediate treatment and ongoing care that seemed reasonable, thoughtfully “engineered”, and not designed primarily to fatten his wallet while flattening mine. I was grateful for the guidance and the comprehensive feedback, especially considering that I was likely to use it all to return to my then dentist for treatment. I stayed, and I’m very happy I did. I have now been a patient of Dr. Durisek and the staff at Open Wide Dental for over a year. I cannot compliment them highly enough. All the staff I have dealt with seem to be equally competent, caring, pleasant, and happy to be working where they do and doing the jobs they do, It all makes for a very welcoming and comforting environment. I look forward to going to the dentist! I even try to get there early so I can have time in one of the massage chairs in the lobby. This is a top-notch dental practice in every way and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for dental care in the Phoenix, Arizona area.

Today was my first time at Open Wide. Upon walking in I felt encompassed by such great energy. The decor in the office is modern chic and the reception is friendly and full of smiles. After waiting only a few minutes I was given a tour of the office and what an office it is. Massage chairs and a beverage center! Once my exam started my mind was instantly put at ease. Every big medical term they used was later put into words that I could understand. I have never been to a dental office that does such an in depth evaluation of my teeth and what I hope to accomplish with my smile. I can say without any hesitation that I have finally found a dentist I trust and an office I can brag about.

I was recently in Arizona on vacation and needed an emergency appointment for severe tooth pain. Dr. Durisek not only saw me on short notice, but took me in on a holiday, took xrays, noticed an infected root that my home dentist missed, AND gave me a referral to an endodontist who took care of me. Amazing personal service, and caring staff. I would recommend this office to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, professional dentist. Thank you, Dr. Durisek for taking the time to help me. I will be forever grateful! Note: Dr. Durisek’s waiting room has a massage chair, snacks, and Starbucks coffee that made the experience luxurious for my family! What a great place!

I’ve been blessed with having open wide take care of my teeth over the years the last decade great service great people polite dedicated excellent what they do you feel you are at home you have massage chairs and they know you by your first and last name it’s like family the owner is just an amazing dentist but not only that he has a great tasting music and if you’re lucky and you go there you might just sing in your ear and you might get smutton.

Dr. Thomas Durisek and his crew at Open Wide Dental (OWD) rock! I first came to Dr. Durisek a few yeas ago after seeing his ads in the local gay publications. I’ve been a patient ever since because Open Wide Dental does such a great job. The Open Wide Dental web site states, “Our commitment is to provide you the highest standard of personalized dental care with a gentle, efficient and professional manner. We trust you will find the atmosphere calming, the staff friendly, and our dental services exceptional.” I’m pleased to report that OWD delivers on their promise. You know your dentist is gay when you can compliment the decor of the office. Dr. Durisek remodeled the space his practice now occupies and it is state-of-the-art. The waiting area looks more like the living room of a gay couple who subscribes to “Dwell” magazine and shops at IKEA than the usual dreary dental office. The two massage chairs from The Sharper Image also get lots of use. Check out the photos on the OWD web site as I didn’t know you could get dental office Glamour Shots! Beyond mere appearances, it’s the people who make the difference at Open Wide Dental. Theresa is by far the best dental hygienist I have ever encountered. My teeth form lots of tartar and she does an exceptional job cleaning them. She is extremely gentle and the only hygienist who has not caused me pain while cleaning my teeth. The new office set up is nice as flat panel monitors are mounted to the ceiling over the treatment chairs, so you get to watch calming DVDs while they work on your teeth. Dr. Durisek told me some patients have asked for TV shows or movies, but they’ve kept it to nature scenes and the like so far. Dr. Durisek himself is great. He’s friendly, kind, patient, gentle and professional. On my first visit, I filled out a form and one of the questions asked why I went to Open Wide Dental and I responded, “My previous dentist was a jerk.” I really appreciated that Dr. Durisek had the balls to ask me about the previous dentist based on my comment. Right then I knew we would enjoy mutual respect going forward. In fact, I trusted him enough to follow his advice of filling a small cavity without any local anesthetic. He assured me that the cavity was small enough that I did not need local anesthetic and if I started to feel any pain at all during the procedure, all I had to do was raise a hand and he would hook me up with some Novocaine. I’ve found that the injection of Novocaine for previous dental work was an awful experience on its own and Dr. Durisek was right on the money. He was able to fill my cavity without any anesthetic and I didn’t feel any pain at all. If you’ve got teeth, then Open Wide Dental is the place for you to take care of them!
