Dr. Murthy & the team at Orthodontics of Cambridge goes above and beyond for their patients. My experience has been stellar! Especially during the pandemic, their team’s diligence and care for their patients has shined. After postponing & doing virtual appointments for as long as physically possible, I had to come in for the safety of my teeth. I’m sure their team could tell how stressed I was coming in… and their painstaking efforts for their patients were obvious. The entire experience was spotless, meticulous, and seamless. Only one patient in the entire office at a time, sanitized in between, with every interaction & movement planned for and made sanitary during the visit. I felt so well cared for, especially in comparison to my prior disappointing orthodontic experiences. I feel lucky & grateful that I chose Dr. Murthy’s practice. Their dedication to the health & well-being of their patients sets a great example for every business. 🙂

I had a broken fixed retainer, and I called one morning, desperate for a timely repair. Heather, the practice manager, answered and was very polite. She offered me an appointment to fix it that night. The hours are very convenient (for students especially–they’re open until 7pm). Over the phone, Heather was sure to put the estimated price right on the table, with an explanation of what each cost was for. No surprises, no hidden costs. Very upfront about pricing and everything. Which was refreshing. The price seemed a bit steep, but it was definitely worth it, especially given the quick appointment and the quality of the service, care, and hospitality. The building is nice. It’s very clean, with a sleek setup. It’s a short walk away from the Alewife stop on the red line, which was nice. There was almost no wait (I got the vibe that they’re careful about setting appointment times to ensure that), and even as a first-time patient with paperwork to fill out, I was sitting in Dr. Murthy’s chair within 15 minutes. Heather was a pleasure to talk to while I was waiting, and it really felt like she cared about what I had to say. Great hospitality. I met with Dr. Murthy, and we talked about what the problem was and exactly what needed to happen. He was careful to talk with me beforehand about exactly what I wanted and what he was going to do to help. He let me rinse halfway through the repair, which was nice of him. At the end, he gave me a mirror to see my newly repaired retainer, which was a nice touch. He even asked if everything was good before I left. It was. Overall, it was an overwhelmingly positive experience. I’d really recommend it to family/friends/people who need orthodontic care. It’s just a great place, great people, and great service. Granted, I only had a relatively simple repair to be done, but the way the entire staff conducted themselves, I’m sure that they could handle even the most difficult cases well. I’m really happy with my experience.

Service was excellent on all accounts at Orthodontics of Cambridge. Options were clearly explained in a manner that was thorough and I felt like I could ask any questions and get clear answers. Each visit was a productive visit. I am thrilled with the results. They are better than I even expected. I would highly recommend Dr. Murthy’s practice because it is a professional and welcoming practice where you will find yourself well treated by extremely knowledgeable staff. The service is outstanding and everyone pays attention to every detail.

If you or your child needs braces or Invisalign treatment, you have to see my orthodontist, Dr. William Murthy at Orthodontics of Cambridge. He is really nice and extremely knowledgeable. He went to UPENN dental and orthodontic schools. The office is super chic – it has exposed brick walls and iPads in the waiting area. It’s the hippest dental office I’ve ever been to. The staff is super friendly too. My first two visits were free, including the orthodontic photos and x-rays they took. After reviewing my x-rays, Dr. Murthy gave me several treatment options. The other orthodontists I visited in the area didn’t even come close to the customer service I received at Orthodontics at Cambridge. I highly recommend Dr. Murthy!

We have had a very positive experience working with Dr. Murthy and the Orthodontics of Cambridge team. Dr. Murthy makes himself available to all patients whenever you need him and the communication is seamless. The office is always extremely clean and our most recent experience through COVID-19 couldn’t have been better organized and planned out. We are always greeted with smiling, friendly faces and they’ve made our daughter’s braces experience as pleasant as it can be.

I am so glad that my dentist recommended Dr. Murthy!  I am over 50 and was not exactly thrilled that I needed to get braces.  I’ve always had small spaces between my upper teeth but now my teeth were slowly twisting and turning.  Dr. Murthy is amazing!  I just got my braces off and I can’t believe how fantastic my smile is now!  I never thought that he would be able to reduce the spaces between my teeth, but he did!  I will be wearing my retainers diligently to maintain my new, straight teeth!

I have been undergoing orthodontic treatment with Dr. Murthy for just about a year now. During this time I have been really impressed with the level of service I have received both from Dr. Murthy and his practice manager, Katia. If you are looking for someone to lay it on you thick with cheesy customer service/sales practices, then this just is not the place for you. If you are, however, looking for someone to give you honest, direct, no ‘bull’ recommendations for your treatment, look no further. After reading some of the negative reviews, I can see where some of these complaints are coming from. Dr. Murthy can sometimes lack that overly friendly bedside manner you might expect or need from a provider. It was clear to me on my first visit that it’s just not his nature, but he does try – and if you ever have the chance to talk to him about his twins, you can really see his warmth shine through. Interestingly, I’ve typically been one to prefer a more nurturing relationship with my providers, but frankly, with my treatment being as complicated as it is (tooth extractions, creating space for future implants, extreme misalignment), I am relieved to have someone like Dr. Murthy in charge of my care. I know what I am getting and he is always fully transparent when I have questions or concerns (case in point: today he called me to answer all of my questions and concerns regarding options for my upper teeth, and I am sure it wasn’t an easy call for him to have with me firing skeptical questions at him. And he never faltered because he stands by his gut recommendations.) Look, can Dr. Murthy sometimes be a little more direct than maybe I want? Sure. But with something as important, as expensive and as long-lasting as orthodontic treatment, I’d rather that than being unsure about what I am getting. I am really glad I decided to move forward with Dr. Murthy because I know he has my results and best interests in mind.

Dr. Murphy, Heather and all staff are amazing to work with. I was in treatment for 2 years and the entire experience was great. At the beginning everything was explained and communicated clearly and thoroughly on the treatment and the financial. During the treatment, Dr. Murphy would explain exactly what each step was about. The treatment lasted 2 years and the result was as expected (or even better). Heather is also super nice to work with. I super recommend Orthodontics of Cambridge!
