Dr. Sakurai is simply the best dentist and doctor we have ever been to.  Our children are beyond excited to go back, and her efficiency and effectiveness with our dental care was intelligent, thoughtful, and excellent. Kari Sakurai has been my wizard of dentistry for ages. She provides ample laughter and Kari makes it possible for me to leave the office with memories that will last a lifetime. Kari Sakurai Dentistry is almost like a second home to me after all these years, and Kari, a second mom. Dr. Sakurai was my dentist until I turned 26 and got kicked off my parents dental insurance. If it weren’t for these logistics (my insurance and the fact that I am now living in Boston), I’d still be seeing Dr. Sakurai. She is extremely kind, friendly, trustworthy and meticulous. Very, very highly recommended!

June 24, 2019 Dr. Sakurai was referred to me some twelve years ago by some of her other patients.  I knew those particular patients to be the type of people who do their homework before trusting any professional. Because of this, I went into Dr. Sakurai’s office for my first visit with high expectations. Dr. Sakurai accomplished more for me in my first two visits than I had accomplished in any four or five dental visits elsewhere.  I had never before understood how vital caring for your teeth in particular ways was. The amount of specific work that Dr. Sakurai can do without sending a patient out to several other specialists is noteworthy.  Because of Dr. Sakurai’s level of care and her ability to work her magic, I get positive comments on my teeth monthly and I have none of the many, hot, cold, sensitivity, issues that I hear so many friends and colleagues speaking of even when they love their dentists. I’ve realized that it’s common for patients not to know that there is so much more out there that can improve the health and the appearance of your teeth.   Dr. Sakurai is a consummate professional.  Whether it’s her consistent use of the phrase, “Here comes Mr. thirsty”, or the equally silly, “strong blue light”,  (She works with a  lot of children) A visit to Dr. Sakurai is always a pleasant experience.  Oh, and she creates most crowns WHILE YOU WAIT! I needed to see a different dentist while out of town on a business trip several months ago.  I was struck by the night and day difference in the knowledge and level of care between that office and Dr. Sakurai’s office.  I would not trust the future of my oral health to anyone else.   Respectfully, John B. Dr. Kari Sakurai is a brilliant, caring, and superlative artist of an extraordinary dentist, who is always fully up to speed with every advance in her profession. My wife and I, and the numerous friends to whom we have recommended her are unanimous in singing her praises with good cause. She solves dental problems that others have been unable to resolve. I say that with total confidence because she did that for me and my wife, and those we sent to her. She is absolutely the finest.

My husband, daughter and I all see Dr. Sakurai. She is personable, uses the latest technology, and is always on time. Her office staff is great.  I did Invisalign with her and love the results.  I have recommended several friends and colleagues and they are all as pleased with the care they receive as my family is.

I highly recommend Dr. Sakurai! I HATE going to the dentist and she’s been wonderful beyond compare. In fact, I’ve been her patient for nearly 22 years now. I can’t believe it’s been that long! I have never had a bad experience there. I’m probably a nightmare of a patient, I’m very anxious any time I go to the dentist. Which, after her consistently treating me gently and not causing me any for over two decades must be annoying. She personally does most of the work and does a very thorough examination. She has the newest state-of-the-art equipment. She also teaches at the UCLA school of dentistry which keeps her up to date with the latest trends, techniques and procedures currently available. I think this is so important as many doctors seem to become frozen in time once they have their degree and start a practice. It’s important to have a dentist who keeps up with their ever evolving field and has a working knowledge of the latest recommendations and guidelines. When I moved to Los Angeles many years ago, I neglected to be proactive in finding a dentist right away because I just never seemed to get around to it and do the research. Naturally, I found myself needing one when I suddenly broke a tooth. I was working at UCLA at the time and was checking out my coworkers teeth to see who I wanted to ask for a recommendation. Fortunately, someone recommended Dr. Sakurai. I was so impressed that once I explained what had happened, she squeezed me in for an appointment right away, even though I was previously not her patient. She put me at ease, skillfully took care of the problem, and even took the time to put ointment on my lips prior to the procedure so they didn’t get all dried out. I know that sounds like something little, but it’s indicative of the kind of care she takes in doing her work. Over the years I have personally recommended her to several people and they are all still her patients to this day.

Instead of dreading a dental visit, I actually look forward to seeing Dr. Sakurai!  She’s amazing.  Super nice, thorough, gentle, kind, and my teeth are the whitest and healthiest they’ve been in years.  From ease of making the appointment to an overall great experience in the office, I have nothing but praise for Dr. Sakurai and her staff.

Dr Sakurai is a highly competent and caring dentist. I have particular problems with gagging when my tongue or the roof of my mouth are contacted, and Dr Sakurai is careful to avoid causing discomfort.

I’ve been in Santa Monica for almost 24 years now and I tried many recommended dentists before I found Dr. Kari Sakurai. I’ve been going to her for a year and a half and have nothing but great things to say. When I came to Dr. Sakurai I was already on guard because so many dentists have told me I needed things that I didn’t need. She’s honest and gives options that are affordable and reasonable. And her work is excellent….and did I mention how clean and comfortable and painless my visits have been! And she always has the top-of-the-line state-of-the-art equipment. If you’re looking for an excellent Dentist in Santa Monica…..you can stop looking!!
