I went to a fancy shmancy dental office where they did a little neck massage, offered headphones, lipgloss…pretty much everything they could to jazz up the visit. But all that jazzing couldn’t hide the fact that the actual dentist swooped in and out so fast that I could swear he was wearing a cape! We don’t have dental insurance so paying for a full visit when in reality I saw a hygienist, didn’t sit well. I really wanted to find a dental clinic where I would see the actual dentist for more than 60 seconds. Once I found Harvard Ave Dental and Dr. Petrutsas, I knew I’d hit the jackpot. I’ve been seeing Dr. P for probably 5 years now and it’s been a whole different experience. With Dr. P, there’s no cape and no swooping; he will examine you, talk to you, clean your teeth….everything. There are not 10 people lined up in the waiting room–they schedule enough time for each patient so that you never feel rushed. My whole family goes here, including my 7 and 9 year old daughters (both of whom feel totally comfortable and at east with Dr. P). Dr. P is extremely knowledgeable, low-key, kind, patient….this is the kind of dentist you want to see. I am not scared of the dentist, but for those of you who are, I really think he could put you at ease

If I could give a 10 star rating I would! After years of terribly traumatic experiences with dentists, I would have to prepare myself mentally and physically to even get a simple cleaning and still generally ended in tears, high blood pressure and anxiety. Park Cities Dentistry has been nothing short of AMAZING. My very first appointment I was prepared for another awful experience – I was wrong -and with every visit I continue to be more impressed with this team of CARING and WELL INFORMED providers. I learned more about my dental insurance in 15 minutes thanks to this office staff than I have ever understood in my life. I no longer dread my appointments because I know everyone has my best interest and comfort top of mind. It is very difficult to find a good dentist, I am so happy I found a great one! Dr. Lyle Petrutsas is wonderful – I appreciate that he is honest and does not try to sell unnecessary procedures. His work is thorough, Dr. Petrutsas is very detail oriented and takes his time to make sure everything is done perfect. I had a cavity below gum line and was sure the tooth will be lost, but Dr.P was able to save it and new crown looks like real tooth! Everyone in the office is very friendly, no wait time. I was so impressed with Dr. Petrutsas on my first visit that I made appointments for my husband and two young sons (ages 3 and 5) immediately. He is knowledgable, thorough, very gentle, and calming. Went in for tooth pain while visiting my folks in Dallas, Dr. P was able to squeeze me in and I was treated like a longtime patient. Dr. P gave a clear diagnosis, prognosis, as well as explanation of options & procedures. Addressed many options on how to proceed to remedy my tooth pain. Heather drove it home and found the best course of action, for me (while considering insurance and timing), and explained everything for a civilian to understand. The only letdown is a PPE fee during Covid, but it was forgotten after day of appointment.

I’ve been going to this office for almost 3 years and have had nothing less than great experiences each time. Office is nice and clean, front office staff greets you when you enter the office and I never wait longer than 5min to get back in the chair. Jordan, my hygienist, does a great job with my cleanings and is always very thorough. Dr. P always does a great job with any additional work needed on my teeth (crowns, fillings, etc.). Heather, the office manager, always goes out of her way to thoroughly explain any treatment needed. I would highly recommend coming to this office!

A WORD FROM YOUR DOCTOR

Dr. Lyle Paul Petrutsas was born on March 30, 1970 in the city of Houston. He graduated high school in 1988, and embarked on his undergraduate studies. Four years later, he graduated from Southwest Texas State University with a Bachelor of Arts in biology with a minor in chemistry. It was then time to fulfill his lifelong dream to enter dental school. After entertaining many offers, he decided to pursue his graduate studies at the nationally acclaimed Baylor College of Dentistry, in the beautiful city of Dallas. After four fulfilling and knowledgeable years, he graduated with his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Dr. Petrutsas then honed his skills as the lead Dentist in a large clinic in Duncanville, on the outskirts of Dallas. After five wonderful years of creating smiles, Dr. Petrutsas began to look for the perfect location to start his own practice. After an extensive search, he located a small practice for sale in beautiful Highland Park. Knowing this was the perfect place to help people with their smiles, the practice was purchased in October of 2001.
