I started my day going to another dentist for an emergency tooth extraction. They kept trying to push an expensive root canal on me when all I wanted was to get this awful tooth out. Parkrose Dental does an excellent job all around, from the dental staff to the administrative staff. I have had cleanings, a filling, and replacement of a front tooth crown. The assistants and hygienists are very thorough and answered my questions as well as providing suggestions for improved oral care going forward. When my crown dropped out on a weekend, Dr. Tieu called me back himself and was able to squeeze me in right away. The new crown looks better than my old one, and the cost for replacement was half what I had paid at another dentist for the original. I’ve recommended Dr. Tieu to two friends, who have also had good experiences. I’m looking forward to my next cleaning!

Very reasonable prices. They want you in there and will respect and listen to you. Worked with getting my gf insurance and since we didn’t, they easily showed us the price of xrays, extractions, anaesthetic, all of it. On top of that, it was nearly 200$ cheaper than any dentist I visited or called that day. I have recently moved from Portland to Omaha NE, and I regret not being able to go to Parkrose dental anymore . Dr Teu has the best bedside manner of anyone I’ve ever worked with. He is patient, gentle, accommodating and explains the procedure very well when requested. I’ve never had to wait more than five minutes to be seen. Staff is friendly, knows my husband and I by our first names. I had transferred to Parkrose dental about 4 years ago to a friend’s recommendation after I had spent thousands of dollars on a misdiagnosed root canal in Vancouver. I’ve been going to Dr .Tieu at Park Rose Dental for years. The dental hygienists are very friendly and do excellent work cleaning my teeth. The staff are great,They are very friendly, they offered to pull up my dental insurance coverage and explained everything to me. I have never felt the need to change to another dentist. However, about a month ago I made the mistake of trying a different office due to an insurance referral, and it was a terrible experience. I won’t be going outside of Park Rose Dental again. Dr. Tieu is an expert when it comes to dental exams and procedures. He saved my 2 teeth that other dentist messed up . Dr. Tieu also did my implants for me and my husband, and we are very happy with the result. Dr .Tieu was quick and very understanding! No wonder why he has been trusted for all these years! Dr. Tieu was the only dentist in the area open on Saturday and I was in immediate need of care. I ended up having an infection from a root canal and crown I had done a few years back that was incredibly painful. The doctor saw me Saturday morning and removed the tooth after the x-rays confirmed the infection. Dr. Tieu was knowledgeable and well spoken, and super patient with me as I asked a lot of questions. I really couldn’t have been happier with a dentist or the level of care. I live downtown, but would happily make the drive to have him as my regular dentist.

I am thankful to had found Parkrose Dental approximately seven years ago. Prior, I hadn’t been seen by a dentist in over 20 years and trust me I had no plans of EVER going back to a dentist after the horrible past years experiences with different offices. A few weeks ago I had a molar that had gone bad and could no longer be saved even after many attempts of fillings and so forth. my local dentist’s was unable to extract it but I was referred to Dr. Tieu since he was in my insurance plan coverage. I was able to get an appointment within a few days even with the Corvid 19 outbreak. They were very courteous, friendly and professional. They took very good care to be clean and precautions. I absolutely love Dr. Tieu!!!! I don’t know what else to say about him, other than that fact that he is the most compassionate and humble dentist I’ve ever met. Over the past 2 years my mom has been living a very health conscious lifestyle due to being diagnosed with hypertension and high blood pressure. She decided she was going to lose weight, exercise and live on a low sodium diet because she did not want to be on high blood pressure medication. She accomplish her goals and lost 45 lbs and got her blood pressure to a normal rate naturally. Well, recently she got a tooth infection that raised her blood pressure through the roof. We went to gentle dental and they told us that her blood pressure had to be 120 over 80 before they could extract the tooth (even on her healthy low-sodium diet my mom’s blood pressure is not 120 over 80) and her doctors have told her this is fine because it’s still in a normal range for her. The tooth was hurting my mom so bad that she began to take high blood pressure pills, hoping that they would get her blood pressure down enough to get the tooth extracted. The first round of pills gave her a vertigo and raised her blood pressure higher. So she tried another one that also raised her blood pressure higher. I have been going to Dr. Tieu for the last 3 years and I suggested him to my mom. We told him the situation and told him that her blood pressure had gone up because of the tooth. He took her blood pressure and although it was higher than 120 over 80 ( not dangerous and within reason) he said that he still could safely do the procedure because he understood that the tooth was the reason her blood pressure was high. He was the first dentist who gave us hope .The numbed the tooth and said that that numbing the tooth would bring the blood pressure down, because the pain was the issue. After it was numb, he explained to my mom that she may “feel some pressure”. It took five minutes in the tooth was out. We felt like crying and we wanted to hug him so bad but we didn’t want him to feel uncomfortable. We have been guinea pigs trying all these medications that the doctor recommended us to get her blood pressure down, when all she needed was her tooth removed. When we got home her blood pressure was down 30 points and had began to normalize once again. I can never thank God and Dr.Tieu enough. We will forever be clients of Dr.Tieu’s. Oh, and his staff is absolutely amazing. We love Dr. Tieu and his staff, and they can expect to receive a big gift from us. We will forever be grateful.

Great service..reasonable prices…..I first met Dr. Tieu about 10 years ago. I had a ground down tooth that was very short. My old dentist said he could not pull it out because it was too short and I would have to see an oral surgeon. My tooth started to hurt one Thursday. By Friday it was hurting alot. I found Dr Tieu in the phone book. I saw him on Saturday morning. He pulled it out with no problem. I’ve had cavities filled, root canals, crowns,etc and have always been happy with his work and prices. His office staff gets me in very quickly. Within a day or so. If it is an emergency, he will see me within a day.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND PARKROSE DENTAL!!!!! No joke at all today was the happiest day I have had! As part of a 6 trip visit to fix all my teeth, 2 teeth at a time, today I had 2 of my front teeth fixed (all cavities, all black embarrassing spots removed). Look at my pic. The 2 teeth look like brand new and Dr Tieu did it all by hand! The 2 teeth look brand new (who needs veneers)! I have been to 6 different dentists where all they did was continuously pull all my teeth out and never get started with working on my teeth but Dr Tieu the first time he immediately had a plan in place, fix 2 teeth at a time to where they look brand new! I have been waiting for a dentist who would do this for me Forever but other places would stall or would pull out my teeth! I have both mental and physical disabilities and anxiety with panic attacks is horrible for me but during the entire process I felt no pain and Dr Tieu continuously checked in on me to make sure I was comfortable! Even the shot was painless with their numbing agent they put on PLUS Dr Tieu DOES NOT RUSH HIS WORK! He takes his time and never rushes he has a great bedside manner and is extremely pleasant! I really recommend Parkrose Dental! I go there all the way from Happy valley and excited to get my next 2 teeth done! Will update pics during my entire experience! A WORD FROM YOUR DOCTOR

Thomas Tieu, DMD graduated from Reed College in 1992, and was accepted to the University of Pennsylvania's School of Dental Medicine. Upon completion of his DMD degree, Dr. Tieu completed his residency at The University of Washington's Barnes-Jewish Memorial Hospital in St. Louis, MO and returned to Portland in 1997 to open his practice. Parkrose Family Dentistry began when Thomas Tieu, DMD joined the late Edward Wah, DMD at Argay Family Dentistry. Since then, Dr. Tieu and staff work to continue to provide the Argay neighbor and the rest of the Portland Metro Area with quick and thorough general, emergency and family dental care, continuing the traditional that Dr. Wah started at this location in 1969. Dr. Thomas Tieu has been practicing dentistry in the Portland area for over 17 years. Upon graduating from Reed College, he was accepted and completed the DMD program at the University of Pennsylvania. Once his internship was completed, he returned home to Portland, where he purchased Parkrose Dental, and has worked ever since providing cost effective, high quality dentistry to patients from across the metro area as well as the country. During Doctor Tieu's free time, he enjoys spending time with his two sons, bike riding, and running.
