I went to Dr. Lu’s dental office to get a cleaning right before a family re-union. I had a lot of stains and discolored fillings on my front teeth that I always thought I could not afford or have time to treat. Dr. Lu told me she could change that in one appointment. Oh boy! I am so glad I went ahead and did it! After just about an hour, I cannot believe what I saw in the mirror, clean white teeth!(that I have not seen for a long time.) Wish I had done this earlier. If you are looking for an exeptional and experience Dentist Dr. Pauline Lu is the one. They have excellent customer service. The biller is awesome explained everything before the procedure to be rendered . But the most important experienced of our daughter that she had two molars extracted and she said she never felt any pain or discomfort since the start until the procedure was done. If you are looking for a dentist in the Silicon Valley, you found the perfect one! I came across Dr. Lu via Yelp years ago, and have not regretted my decision since. She is one of the friendliest and least aggressive dentists I have ever been to. The cleanings are always non-painful and quick. The staff is super friendly and willing to work with me and my schedule. Even though I don’t live close to her office (especially in morning traffic), I still make the trip out to her because I feel like its worth it. If you need a dentist, I highly recommend going to Dr. Lu. You won’t be disappointed!

I was referred to Dr. Lu by a friend. My friend’s entire family has Dr. Lu as their family dentist. Seven years ago, my front tooth veneer came off! Imagine what a nightmare that was for me–talking to people with a missing front tooth! I was very fortunate to have found Dr. Lu then as an emergency patient. She immediately re-arranged her schedule that morning just to help me with my nightmare. I was so grateful that she was able to give me a temporary veneer that day and ordered a permanent one couple weeks later. It was time again to replace my front veneer 2 weeks ago. Dr. Lu took the time to explain my options. As expected, the process went very smoothly. While I was waiting for the permanent ones, Dr. Lu fitted me a temporary one. Even the temporary one looked really good. When the permanent ones (now one veneer and one crown) arrived, the staff quickly called me and scheduled me to be fitted. I had the veneer and crown fitted 3 days ago and they look amazing! I couldn’t tell the veneer and crown apart from my real teeth. They feel comfortable also. Definitely 5 stars (and 2 thumbs up) for Dr Lu’s expertise and technique, products, and friendly staff service. Thank you again! Fast forward to 2018– happy to be visit Dr Lu’s new facility! State of the art equipment and as usual very accommodating staff and doctor. Highly recommend!

I went to Dr. Lu for the first time yesterday. My previous dentist was very good, but every time they charged too much and I had to call them and correct the bill (happened three times). Dr. Lu and her staff (Rea) try to get the best out of pocket price for me and a detailed explanation of the bill. I was able to get an appointment within an hour of when I called and there was no wait time. She did cleaning and some fillings in very short time and I am very pleased with the result. Both Dr. Lu and Rea are very caring and very friendly.

For the occasionally impatient person like myself, time is a virtue. Fortunately, this office is able to run operations very quickly and efficiently. I called the office and was able to schedule an appointment for the next day. Nice! Unlike some private practices, my appointment began exactly at the time it was scheduled. Zero wait time! Dr. Lu was extremely friendly and helpful. She offered to provide a quick cosmetic fix (nothing major) on my front tooth at no extra charge. I would highly recommend the services provided by Dr. Lu and her staff(Rea & Evelyn). Even though I was running late for my appointment, I didn’t feel rushed by the staff or Dr. Lu throughout the time I was there. I’ve been a patient at Dr. Lu’s for several years now. I’ve had a lot of work done by her, and she’s always done a great job. Her cleanings are also the gentlest cleanings I’ve ever had. A great and comfortable environment for all ages. Dr Lu’s staff is great at reminding me of my appointments. Dr. Lu is very knowledgeable and genuinely cares for the health of our teeth. She’s not the type to recommend a procedure unless you really need it. I also don’t get nervous going because she is gentle on my gums unlike some other dentists I’ve gone to (who actually numbed my gums before cleaning). Going to the dentist is not scary anymore. Especially for children. I’ve never seen and unhappy kid there. Most of them are either happily sitting in the waiting room watching a cartoon movie or calmly getting their cleaning. I think the little stuffed animals hanging over the ceiling help calm the little patients too. Describing Dr Lu’s office reminds me of the cheers theme “where everyone knows your name” I’d recommend her to all my friends!

After several routine dental visits, all the former dentists I had would suggest removing my wisdom teeth. They would inform me that removing my wisdom teeth would benefit me in the long run, but I was always hesitant. I would always say, “maybe next time, not now.” Since relocating to the Santa Clara area, I was in search of a primary dental office. That’s when I found Dr. Pauline Lu’s Dental Office. Dr. Lu and her staff are wonderful! Rea, the front desk receptionist, is friendly and takes the time to explain all you need to know. She welcomes all clients that walk in the office with a big smile. The first time I met Dr. Lu, she took the time to learn about my expectations and goals for my dental health. She shares important information that helps me make an informed decision. Dr. Lu’s initial approach and attitude made a positive impact in considering her as a primary dentist and trust her professionalism. My confidence in Dr. Lu and her staff gave me the decision to FINALLY have my wisdom teeth pulled out! But prior to confirming a date to have the procedure done, I was extremely nervous and hesitant. I couldn’t decide whether to go through with it all. I was conflicted because I was not experiencing any discomfort at the present time, yet I did not want to endure any possible complications in the long run. Dr. Lu made sure I was aware of all the details for the procedure and mentioned she would do all she can to make me feel comfortable. Rea also played a part in helping me finalize my decision as she reassured me that I would be in good hands with Dr. Lu. On the day of the procedure, Dr. Lu and her assistant were great! Dr. Lu definitely made sure I was comfortable! Her hands were gentle and made sure I was not going to experience a lot of pain/discomfort. I appreciated how Dr. Lu explained every detail while I was undergoing the procedure. She made me aware of what was going on and what I was going to feel at that moment. I was such at ease that I did not even realize that both my wisdom teeth were eventually extracted. No bleeding, swelling, or other complications! I was amazed that I tolerated the procedure well. Dr. Lu did a fantastic job! She really meant what she said when she assured me that I was going to be comfortable! Overall, everything turned out better than expected! There was no need for me to take any pain medications at all (although I was anticipating pain). No abnormal bleeding or swelling and I was able to eat normally again the following day. I felt fine that I had to brag to others that I was nervous over nothing. It was a successful experience! And, I am satisfied that I chose Dr. Lu as my primary dental care provider! Again, THANK YOU to Dr. Lu and her staff for doing a wonderful job!

I’ve been coming to see Dr. Lu for the last 8yrs. She’s a great dentist and will continue to go to her for all my dental needs. I recently had 10 veneers placed b/c my teeth have gotten worn down and showing signs of stress fracture from grinding. I was nervous prior to getting the procedure done b/c I’ve seen some bad veneers in other people. Dr. Lu is one of those rare dentists that actually works for the patient. My previous dentist, and many others unfortunately, think about their clinic like a business. They want to make as much money as possible. The patient comes second. I’ve been a patient of Dr. Lu for 3 years. She is fantastic. She does everything herself. She takes the time to explain and is very patient. She never pushed a procedure on me, not even when I was the one suggesting it. Her approach is to seek the best of the client, not the best of her pocket. She spent hours reviewing and perfecting my Invisalign, unlike most dentists who simply accept what the software decides. She also takes notes of sensitive areas in my mouth, so when she cleans up my teeth, she is extra careful around those areas. This is what separates the pro from the rest. Her clinic is in an older building, but she has very modern equipment. She is so sterile that she covers her equipment with special plastic covers. Those are removed before using the equipment, and disposed. She replaces them after each use. I’ve never seen any dentist do that. Her receptionist is the same: kind, perfectionist, and customer facing.

I was in town on business. While eating a salad, I broke a tooth on a piece of an olive pit. I googled “emergency dentists” and saw Dr. Lu. I called and she said “My staff is at lunch, but come in as soon as you can”. Dr. Lu took a look and put a temporary filling in to hold me over until I could get to my regular dentist back home. I have been a dental phobic all my life, so I pretty much let my teeth get out of shape over the years. Until one day, one of my big tooth was hurting me real bad, I looked up Dr. Lu’s office from Google’s local search, they gave me an appointment the same day. Dr. Lu was very patient and nice, although I have to admit that I was very scared since I know I have to have the tooth taken out. I don’t remember much about what happened next, because after she numbed me up, I have my eyes shut and hold tight to the chair, in about 20 seconds, she told me the tooth was out , I couldn’t believe it!!! The happiest thing is not just that I was finally out of pain, now I finally have the courage to start taking care of my teeth. I still need to go back for other dental treatments, but I am so glad that Dr. Lu turns things around.

It could be very difficult for consumers to evaluate healthcare provider, because we just don’t have the special knowledge to know. That’s why a lot reviews on dentists only talking about how easy to make appointment, how long the wait, and how clean the office is. For this regard, I say simply Dr. Lu’s office exceeds all my expectations. But the most important evaluation I want to provide is based on my own dental health. I had my fair share of tooth problems growing up. After seeing Dr. Lu for about three years now, however, it seems I simply have a different set of teeth, the healthy one. During the first year of my seeing Dr. Lu, with her careful examination, Dr. Lu identified the decays of my old crown, old fillings, and tooth grinding at night. With numerous repair, replacement, and routine maintenance, I haven’t experience any problem in the past one and half years! Not only that, all the dental work was done painlessly, my mouth was back to normal function soon afterwards. Dr. Lu seems just to know exactly what needs to be done and did it so efficiently. I feel fortunate and really appreciate Dr. Lu’s care. Highly recommend.

Great dentist for the whole family! Our whole family comes here and we’ve been patients for 10 years. My 2 kids think going to Dr. Lu’s is like going to a party… “can’t wait to get the goody bags”! That’s a nice bonus… they get kiddie toothbrushes, toothpaste, and a little toy. Dr. Lu makes it very fun for the kids, from kiddie movies (you can even bring your own!), stuffed animals, to her friendly demeanor. Dr. Lu is always patient and the whole office is friendly and professional. They always send an electronic reminder, and are courteous if you need to reschedule. I havd Invisalign done here, and she threw in a teeth-whitening product. She gives you all your options, and would not push treatment on you. She tells you what is reasonable and fair, and recommends good options. All their X-Ray is hooked up electronically, so she can view your X-Ray results immediately on the big screen. Then she shows it to you and explains what she’s looking at. Great technology! That big screen is also hooked up to the DVD player, which is view-able from the dental chair… so when she’s working on my son, he is distracted (yay) with the movie so she can get the cleaning done. Over the weekend, my son had a dental emergency. I emailed the staff and they responded twice (over the weekend!), and scheduled something for us on Monday morning. She is more than kind and able to accommodate. We have recommended Dr. Lu to many of our friends and family, and everyone loves Dr. Lu!

I learned of Dr. Lu through one of those promotional letters certain doctors send; they normally irritate me, but hers was pleasant and I was new to the neighborhood. I was so pleased with my visit to the dentist. I was eight months pregnant, and she took the time to make me comfortable in the seat. Dr. Lu was very nice and told me that my first cavity “wasn’t my fault”, which seems the opposite of many dentists who seem to make you feel bad about the state of your teeth. I will certainly be going back to her. Her office speaks English, Spanish, and Chinese.
