I feel lucky to have crossed paths with Dr. Mika. At 54 I had no idea my teeth were in such bad shape with misaligned teeth grinding together and cracks throughout that I did not know I had. My mouth was a mess. I paid to have her do a study of my mouth and it was frightening to look at! I’ve had a conservative dentistry for 40 + years and after meeting Dr Mika, I feel incredibly informed about the health of my mouth and the work I need to do to literally keep my teeth. I can’t continue just repairing things when they are broken. I’m losing the battle. Yes, fixing teeth is expensive but I have shopped similar services and she really is right with the rest of the pack. In some cases her prices are quite a bit lower. Teeth are simply expensive to care for. I recently had 2 crowns placed by Dr. Mika and I have NEVER had crown work done so well. She is a perfectionist, her lab is phenomenal and the quality shows. Her staff is lovely & her assistant wonderful. She has a gift for making temp crowns that feel like permanent ones. I’ve had plenty of temporary crowns. They bother you, they’re shaped weird, they are no fun. The temporary crowns I received there had ZERO irritation and they looked amazing. It really is remarkable. The office is immaculate and I always appreciate a well cleaned, well run medical practice. I am quite sure if I had not met Dr. Mika I would be on the fast track to dentures one not so far off day. She will save my teeth and I am forever grateful for that.

New to Portland and the Pearl we needed a new dentist and found it at Pearl District Dentist! Everyone takes the time to talk with you and the office is very bright and pleasant. Dr Mika does not make you feel rushed and truly listens to your concerns. When my night guard did not work for me they refunded my money – less the production cost – and Eli was extremely nice about it. My husband has complicated dental work and feels very confident with their care. Very happy with Pearl District Dentist! And Suzy at the front desk is the best! Go see them you will smile

Truly the BEST dentist I have ever worked with. From the moment you walk in, you can tell this is not just ‘a dental clinic’… this place feels more like a spa. the ladies at the front desk are always friendly and smiling, my hygienist Marjan is always thorough, attentive, and remembers conversations we had 4 months ago. Dr. Mika is exquisite- she is charming and clearly knows her stuff down to a T. I had bad experiences as a child at the dentist and I was terrified, but Dr. Mika is never pushy and always calms me down and makes sure I know what is going to happen before a procedure. Her hand is steady and I always get compliments on how bright my smile is now. I will NEVER go anywhere else… Pearl District Dental, you have earned yourself a loyal customer. I will refer all of my friends and family without a doubt!

I’ve been visiting this clinic for 3 years and had my teeth aligned here. the clinic is very clean. Front desk staffs are very friendly and patient. They call your insurance company and help you to understand your coverage, unlike some clinics that tell you to figure it out yourself. All the hygienists worked on me are great and doing their job with care. Doc Mika is great too, needless to say. I would recommend this clinic to everyone.

I have gone to the Pearl District Dental for a tooth replacement and to become a new patient. They’ve been very helpful throughout the whole process while giving me many different budget options and advice along the way. The Dr. and her team provide services and payment plans that aid their patients and allow them to afford any scary procedure. I’d definitely recommend them for any family or young adult looking for dental care.

The best dentist in Portland, barnone. I went in for a consult & several cleanings and not only are the staff very professional, but Dr. Mika actually takes time to sit down and do a thorough examination as well as sit back and talk with you about your oral health and how comfortable you are with her suggestions. I think their prices are just and fairly reflect their services and effort in giving you the smile you want. I’ve seen them take extra time and money to make things right with other patients. They always go above and beyond when working with other providers in coordination and treatment plans. The Pearl District Dental space is beautiful and relaxing – much like a spa. You never have to wait more than 5 minutes for an assistant or their hygienist to accompany you back to your room and their chair-side manner is exquisite. Suzie and Eli at the front desk are super helpful and always make me feel comfortable when I visit. It seriously feels like you’ve entered a 5-star resort when you walk in the doors. I will never see another dentist again as long as I live in the Portland area. Pearl District Dental will always win my vote and I plan on recommending everyone I know to go there. In the end, my experience at every other dentist’s office I’ve ever been a patient at has never compared to the amazing experiences I’ve had here. If you’re looking for a dentist who never double books appointments, has more knowledge in the cosmetic and general dental industry than your typical dentist down the street due to having the highest potential credentials and accolades, spends ample time with you as well as an understanding, generous and helpful staff who is also very knowledgeable and makes you feel comfortable – look no further… Pearl District Dental is a dream come true when I thought I would never again like, let alone enjoy, visiting the dentist.

Pearl District Dental has a wonderful, welcoming staff, a convenient location and a vast array of expertise. Their work is extremely thorough and Dr. Mika and her staff have been nothing but helpful since I started visiting them two years ago. I would recommend them to anyone I know looking for a true dental professional team in the Portland Metro area.

I can’t believe I’m actually writing a review about a dental clinic, but, I’ve been so impressed with the folks at Pearl District Dental that they really deserve some kudos. I’ve been putting off seeing a dentist for over five years. Partially because I don’t like having all sorts of horrible stuff pointed out about my teeth, but mainly because I had no idea who to see (this is before I came across yelp.) Well, I had a tooth chip while eating dinner with my friend and she highly recommended her dentist (Dr. Mika Miyamoto-Shemali) at Pearl District Dental to me. Well, let me tell you, I knew from the first phone call that I was in the right hands. The gentleman I talked to (Ely) was amazingly thorough, caring, and helpful. He spent about 30 minutes on the phone to help me make sure their clinic was the right one for me – discussed good and bad experiences I had with prior clinics, went over costs with me before hand (this was really nice since I had no dental insurance), and even offered several suggestions to make sure I was comfortable with my visit. He even emailed me a copy of their mission statement along with their forms – this really convinced me I was dealing with a first class organization. Dr. Mika saw me the next day and she was able to take care of the chip during the same appointment. About Dr. Mika: Wow – a beautiful dentist/perfectionist/artist – the touch of an angel – really knows her stuff, AND she actually listens to you. I really like the fact that besides just fixing the chip on my tooth, she pointed out that my other teeth were coming in awkward contact with the tooth that was fixed and recommended I wear a plastic appliance at night to prevent that from happening again. I could afford the appliance, but wasn’t sure if I could sleep with it – so she made me a temporary appliance for a minimal charge so I can try it out. I’ve been back to see Dr. Mika for a more complete exam and had my teeth cleaned by Marjan her hygienist. Each experience has been superb. I’ll tell you, you ain’t had your teeth cleaned until you’ve been touched by Marjan. There are dental clinics out there, and then, there’s Pearl District Dental.

This dental clinic is the best. It’s taken me 10 years since I’ve been in Portland to find a wonderful dentist like Dr. Mika. She’s great about providing pro-active ways to take care of your teeth/gums and her approach/demeanor is wonderful. She just runs a great practice and has great staff. they’re professional and courteous. They make my experience of going to doctors- stress-free! About Hygienist: The hygenist is awesome – well-trained, professional and thorough. I’ve never had an issue.
