This was the second times I had been to Dr. Mao dental office. He and his staff made me feel so comfortable. I felt right at home the first time I went there. I changed dentist because my old dentist she retired and I was was worried to find a place to go. I don’t think I have to worry about that any longer. Because of Covid-19, my top concerned was my health and safety. I noticed health concern of their patients and team members is their top priority. Because of Covid-19, they recently enhanced their disinfection protocol to practice physical distancing and hygiene etiquette. I am highly recommended Dr. Mao

I would rate them a big TEN! Everyone there at this office are the BEST most CARING, HONEST staff that they make you feel like family. I have 4 children & I’ve been to diff dentists in the past until now I’ve finally met an office who truly cares about my family & I. They go the extra mile to make you feel comfortable from the moment you first come in till you leave. I’ve referred my whole family, friends and even coworkers now. No one really likes going to the dentist but once you try DR Tai you will be back for everything and refer others to this office. We get all our dental needs there including ortho as well. Awesome prices for braces compared to others BUT there professionalism and caring is worth more than anything else! Also they are involved with helping the community with having yearly fairs and also help out the schools my eldest attends with supplies and all!! Lastly I just got a job and the office took their time from their busy schedule to send me a congrats card with everyone in the staff writing comments and best wishes! WOW who does this??? I can’t imagine there being a better dentist than Dr. Mao, or a better dentist’s office than his. He and all of his staff are kind and professional, and also show a great personal touch. Dr Mao is a great dentist and very professional. I recently got my full mouth x ray, teeth cleaning and fixed a couple of fillings. My teeth never felt better! To make me feel more comfortable in his dental chair, Dr Mao explains every step of the way before and during my procedure. All his equipment is up to date and beyond. I haven’t been to a dental office where the dentist treat me like VIP. All of his staff members are also very friendly and professional. They remembered my name and always offer me water, coffee and treats up in the waiting room. The staff and facility preparedness made it very safe for covid measures. One patient at a time is allowed in and never comes in contact with other patients inside. Any pens used are sterile before given and we keep the pen for the entire time plus we keep it. Friendly staff, highly recommend!

I’ve been visiting different dentists in the area and I really like this location. The staff made me feel very welcome and they all seem to work very well together to make the patients’ experience go smoothly. The waiting area is clean and they offer you drinks and snacks, and the interior is very adorable, with a wall for the Cavity Free Tree, and garden inside once you walk past the reception. I was happy that as a new patient, they didn’t force me to come in on a weekday/workday like other places I have called. I’m glad I found this place!

First visit last week and it was the best dentist experience I’ve ever had! Dr. Mao and his staff treat you like VIP! They give you a tour your first time and in the waiting area there’s even snacks, tea, coffee, water and juice!! The hygienist Nguyen is very nice and makes you feel very comfortable as she’s cleaning your teeth. Viola has all the answers to your dental insurance questions and is simply the sweetest! Jennifer kindly follows up with how the appointment went. Everyone is just so nice and awesome! Dr. Mao works quick! I like how he’ll tell me what he’s doing as he’s doing it. They would ask if you’re okay time to time and actually care to make you feel comfortable Im usually scared of the dentist but they don’t judge and just makes you feel so comfortable!! So glad a friend of my mom recommended her to Dr. Mao. She’s always afraid of visiting her previous dentists; but for Dr. Mao, she won’t stop complimenting how great he is & she felt no pain what so ever with the few times she had big tooth pulled out. Dr. Mao has extensive experiences, very knowledgeable, gets right to the symptom, professional and friendly at the same time. The receptionist Viola was also attentive and super helpful explaining everything one needs to know for each appointment. Came in originally for an emergency crown, since my tooth chipped and needed repair ASAP for an important meeting. They took my appointment same day, put a temporary crown and left the same day confident to attend that meeting. The permanent crown now needed to be created. Dr. also went the extra mile to trim my adjacent teeth, making it look nice and even for when the crown arrives. I got the permanent crown today, and it looks great. I came in with a messed up front tooth and left with a complete smile. *Pun intended.

This place definitely deserves my first review. The office environment is friendly and all the workers here are amazing. Dr. Mao is knowledgeable and made me feel at home. First visit yesterday and I had the best dentist experience I have ever had! Everyone was so nice and made me feel like welcome. When I first walked in the receptionist was very friendly and gave me a tour of the place. The nice lady who took my x-rays was very patient. The hygienist was overall the best experience, I have had experiences where I have been uncomfortable but the hygienist was amazing at her job and I did not feel one thing! I was so happy with her work and her performance. Dr. Mao and the lady who was with him were both very informative about anything else I needed and explaining everything to me so I understood. If you want a dentist who will make you feel comfortable and give you a great experience at the dentist then I would recommend this place to you! As a child I was always very afraid of the dentist and would avoid it but as of yesterday I feel so much more comfortable speaking to my dentist and going in regularly

This is a great dentist place the customer service is fantastic. My favorite thing about this place is unlike other dentist places once you set an appointment you just arrive and you get seated right away compared to my previous where i would still have to wait. They also have complimentary water bottles and caprisuns and a variety of snacks. One big plus about this place that it doesnt have that weird funky dentist office smell. Ohhh did i mention that they have a in house garden? Pretty sick wish i took some pictures to show.

Dr Tai Mao is an excellent dentist. For the first time in many years i feel comfortable enough to actually enjoy my dentist visits. I have my husband going to the dentist and using up his yearly benefits which is by far a total accomplishment. We found Dr. Mao thru my daughters daycare. She loves going there as well. Never heard of a kid say “Mom, it was the best day ever” when visiting a dentist. I had been holding off for a couple of years maybe to wright this review, but my daughters comment was what finally made me do this. Their team is very kind and welcoming. They are on point with all of their duties, from scheduling to billing to the whole process of the visit. You can really tell the girls love to work for Dr. Mao, that he appreciates his employees and his patients as well. The employees usually comment how Dr. Mao has an employee outing per year, with airfare and hotel paid. They went as far as having a “patient appreciation day”. Who’s ever been a part of one of those? Your doctor appreciating you/? Wine and finger food!!!Never heard of it before. Viola, Dania, Jennifer, each one of the employees makes you feel appreciated in every way, but the best of them all is their hygienist, Wyn. Always smiling and very gentle when she needs to but firm and precise when the task calls for it. Thank you Dr. Mao for your great service, you make a trip to the dentist feel like a spa day, well maybe not so much. LOL

So I first came in not knowing why I was in so much pain when I first walked in the office with a last minute appointment. The waiting room was very welcoming with this huge comfy couch, aside from the little fridge with juices and waters, and little snack area. The receptionist was super friendly and the wait was super short. I was called quickly and first given a quick little tour of the place and also learned Dr. Mao had been in dentistry for 12 years and graduated from USC which was pretty neat. The place itself is very clean, organized, and professional. I finally got my X-rays done and realized I had a root canal. So Dr. Mao pre medicates me and has me come back within 2 hours. As soon as I come back the procedure was done within 3hours, but Dr. Mao is very professional, fast, and efficient. He’s also very informative and makes you feel right at home. Will definitely be coming back for all my dental services!:) Thanks to Dr. Mao and his team!

My daughter was in a bicycle accident and broke several teeth. A trusted dentist recommended Dr. Mao’s office as it is open on Saturdays. They were able to see her right away and took great care of her. Three visits later, her teeth are back to pre-accident beauty. The staff is very cheerful and friendly…always smiling. The hygienist who did my cleaning and deep cleaning is very gentle and sweet personality. She explained any questions I had and checked to make sure I was comfortable. Even though I came early for my appointment and was fine with waiting til my appointment time, they took me in earlier. The office is within walking distance of our home. The entry way has snacks and drinks available when you wait in the lobby. They gave me microwave popcorn to take home as a reward for coming early for my appointment. I just appreciate them all and have felt very at home from the start. As a fellow business owner, I really appreciate the small details. From the moment I made my appointment to: X-rays, teeth cleaning, & consult with Dr. Mao, everything was smooth process. A few years back, I was recommended to remove my upper laterals. Which now, has caused some issues with my lower bite and grinding. It’s been a major concern of mine for YEARS. Dr. Mao did not push or pressure me on recommendations. Which was refreshing… previously, every dentist I went to automatically tried pushing me to get braces again and was critiquing my lower bite and made me feel insecure and increased my anxiety. Nobody likes to be “sold,” so I am grateful that I did not feel that today. Overall, I am extremely happy with my experience and felt the need to share with my close friends and family. I highly recommend him as your pediatric or adult dental/orthodontic needs if you are in the SGV area. He is trust worthy, warm, and really has your best interest at heart.

1. The whole staff is so kind and friendly. I had to come in with my one month old, because my sitter bailed. I hoped hed sleep through the apt, but whe. He didnt, the office staff (whose name I’ve regrettably forgotten so sorry!) Took care of him while I had my cleaning. I apologized so many times, but everyone, including Dr. Mao were so understanding and welcoming. Dr. Mao even said “we know how hard it is to take care of yourself and we will help”. I was so pleased that someone would be so kind in such a situation. 2. The wait and service time are minimal at best. I hate going to doctors offices and waiting for 20 minutes outside only to wait 20 minutes inside, for 20 minutes of service. Here I barely have time to sit down and grab a water before im being whisked away and treated immediately. They really respect your time here. 3. The Dental hygienist, Nguyen, is so fantastic. I can’t say enough about her. She is thoughtful, asks questions and gets to know her patients, and then remembers everything, despite the fact that I only come every 6 months. She is so good at what she does, even deep cleanings arent troublesome. 4. They are great with kids. I dont mean just newborns either My two year old son actually loves going to the dentist because of the staff here. They explain everything to him, and really help him to feel comfortable. 5. They care about their patients. When my son was born, they sent a congratulatory card – signed by the whole staff, and with genuine well wishes. They all ask about my boys, and my husband and mother, and honestly remember everything I tell them. 6. They care about the community. They participate in programs that give to the less fortunate and contribute to local programs in the area from donating to elementary schools to little league teams and cheer programs. There’s so much more to say but just trust me – they are fabulous and you should switch today!

This review is long overdue but Dr. Mao and his team are amazing. I’ve always been somewhat nervous to see the dentist as a kid growing up, which is probably why i had so many cavities that needed to be taken care of, but Dr. Mao made me feel comfortable and hes basically fixed all my teeth with the exception of two that i’ll get taken care of this year. I’ve been coming to him for the last 6 years and i don’t i’ll ever have to look for another dentist again! He’s very professional, thorough, gentle ( which is a plus cause a lot of dentist can be very rough on your teeth), and accommodating. If you’re looking for a great family dentist or one for yourself, please make the visit to him and his team, you wont regret it!

Someone recommended Dr. Mao and I had my first check-up today. I came in right at my appointment time, signed in and was brought in immediately for X-Rays, moments later Dr. Mao reviewed my X-Rays, examined my teeth and gums, did a brief consultation and addressed any issues I may have had. The hygienist immediately got to work and cleaned my teeth quickly and thoroughly and scheduled me for my next appointment right then and there! I love the efficiency of this modest office. Upon entering, I was greeted with warm smiling faces and I was given a tour of the office. It felt very welcoming and served as a form of distraction for my dental visit anxiety. Dr. Mao performed an exam and reviewed my xrays and he explained to me the condition of my oral health. He tried his best to answer my ridiculous questions like, “Will it hurt?” When he began to work on my teeth, I felt his gentle touch. I am terrified of dental visits, but Dr. Mao and his staff have changed my mentality. I highly recommend Dr. Mao if you want an awesome dentist who is gentle when performing procedures. I will update my review after my wisdom teeth extraction (OMG). But I wanted to share my first great experience here at Dr. Mao’s office! I don’t mind going to the dentist more often now.

A graduate of the University of Southern California School of Dentistry in Los Angeles, I now attend more than one hundred of hours of continuing education per year. It gives me a broad knowledge of new technology and techniques that will be beneficial to patients in terms of treatment planning, procedure time, recovery time, and overall practice efficiency. I have completed study in various disciplines, including dental implants, cosmetics, dental materials, pediatrics, root canal treatment with complications, ethics and law, practice management, and psychology. My profession has allowed me to become more of a giver than I ever dreamt. It allows me to put a smile back on many people, to serve my community and mankind, and most importantly, to allow my kids the opportunity to become involved in the community and make a difference in other people’s lives. My patients are the driving force that allows me to excel in my profession. Being able to provide excellent dental care allows me to change another person’s smile and life, but the trusting relationships and bonds that we form change my life as well. The friendships I’ve created with my patients have made me a better person, and a better role model for my children.
