I’ve only been visiting Dr. Cannon for about a year now, but I couldn’t be happier. He is an honest dentist and is up front with costs. I appreciate that he doesn’t act like a used car salesman when it comes to my dental hygiene, which is surprisingly hard to find in the dental world. Previously, I had visited a different office for almost 10 years, but they kept on trying to get me to do more and more dental work, even if I didn’t necessarily need it. And they’d always act like they were giving me some great deal. You can get ***** done for the very low price of 5000.00!! They even went so far as having my come back into the office a month after a cleaning to tell me that if I didn’t get some work done, I could DIE from the infection and that I needed to take antibiotics immediately. Of course I freaked out and tried to figure out ways to pay them. When I went back in, they had no idea what I was talking about. Anyways, the point here is to always get a second opinion. I’ve had too many instances where stuff like this has happened with dental work. Dr. Cannon is a breath of fresh air. He sometimes doesn’t even charge for small cavities and stuff. I highly recommend him! He’ll tell you what can improve, but he doesn’t try to pressure you into doing work.

Dr Cannon and his staff were super friendly and he was able to see me for an emergency even though his schedule was full. I then had another issue that night and called after hours. Dr Cannon was leaving on vacation the next day (a Friday) at 9am and his office was closed. He came in and opened the office at 7am just to see me on his day off to fix my tooth. Incredible service

While visiting my daughter in Salt Lake City, I had a hiking accident that involved some pretty bad mouth trauma. My daughter called Dr. Cannon, and he met us at the ER. I am not even his patient! The next day, the staff worked me in so he could X-ray my teeth. The young woman who did the X-rays was especially kind and considerate since my mouth was sore, and the entire staff was very professional and friendly. They emailed the X-rays to my own dentist in Oklahoma. I can’t even tell you the peace of mind it brought me to have immediate expert care, as I was far from home and afraid of losing my front teeth.

This place is AMAZING! loved my experience. First off, the front desk was super helpful. Aubrey helped me and was very sweet and professional. Ashley cleaned my teeth. The best cleaning I’ve ever had! She really took her time to do a good job and was very efficient. She was sensitive to be gentle while cleaning but also cleaned very well. She answered all my questions about any issues and concerns I was having with my teeth. Very knowledgeable. Dr Cannon and his staff are awesome! I have this weird tooth that never quite came in right, and none of the other dentists I’ve been to could help me out with it. Dr Cannon was able to shape the tooth just right, so I can actually floss around, and now I don’t always have a popcorn husk stuck in my gums next to it. He also gave me good advice on how to fix it permanently when I’m ready to.

Very fast process, but not rushed. I heard Dr Cannon talking with several of his patients and it was clear that he cared about them and they cared about him. I have had cleanings, cavities filled, even a crown/post situation 🙂 From the nice staff who care about your comfort, really care…to Dr. Cannon’s patience and gentleness, being there makes dental work almost perfectly pleasant. He seems to put himself in his patients shoes and treats us accordingly.  But on top of that, he has an exemplary “chairside manner”. Dr. Cannon was recommended to me back in 1989. I use to work downtown not far from his office but retired in 2002. I live in Draper and have continued to go to him. He has a great office staff, always on time, gets you in when an emergency occurs and he’s a great golfer:-) I don’t hold it against him that he is a UTE fan, because he is such a great dentist! I highly recommend him!

A WORD FROM YOUR DOCTOR

Dr. David S. Cannon Dr Cannon in his early childhood lived in California, Alabama and Scotland. His parents moved the family to Salt Lake City when he was 8 years old. Dr Cannon served a mission for his church to the Dominican Republic and is fluent in Spanish. He attended and graduated dental school from West Virginia University in 2000. Following dental school Dr. Cannon attended a one year post graduate program at the Martinsburg VA Med Center in Martinsburg, West Virginia. There he learned more advanced techniques in general dentistry. After working for a year in a practice in Holladay, Dr. Cannon started Pinnacle Dental in October 2002. Dr. Cannon is married to his wonderful and supportive wife Sylvia. They have 3 children whom range in age from 17 to 10 years old. In his spare time Dr. Cannon enjoys hanging out with his family and snow skiing.
