I have been seeing Dr. Tieu for several years now and have been very happy with the service they provide.The front desk staff is very friendly and accommodating, and the evening and weekend hours are great. Dr. Tieu is great at formulating long term treatment plans that take into account what your insurance will cover, so you can get done what needs to get done without spending a fortune. He is very up to date with the latest technology, such as digital x-rays and crowns that can be done in-house during a single visit. I highly recommend this office and Dr. Tieu!

After moving into the area, I came here for a regular cleanup. I felt that the service was really great. After cleaning, the hygienist performed an examination of my teeth and gums and provided me with instructions and clear recommendations. I also appreciated the complimentary soft-bristle toothbrush and sensitivity toothpaste. The staff at the office were all very friendly. My experience was very positive.

Amazing. Dr. John Tieu is without a doubt the most excellent, competent dentist I’ve ever had in my life. For the last two months I have been carrying the aftermath of a bad dental appointment, I expected to just get a consult and book a root canal but instead Dr. Tieu laid out everything he thought about the area and gave me some prospective options. He actually ended up filling my tooth on the spot saving me a lot of time and money. Absolutely shocked at how much of a problem solver they were for me and how much compassion Dr. Tieu clearly has. The hygienist was so kind and had a great bedside manner. I hate having my teeth cleaned and she made me feel very at ease. john, the dentist, was inquisitive and knowledgeable and it never felt like he was talking down to me. Actually looking forward to having my cavity filled later this month!

The people here are awesome as is the work. One time the night before leaving the country a crown came loose. One of the dentists called me back and said he would come in early to fix my tooth. He did and off to Brazil I went. Did I mention this was not my dentist, just a random panicked call for help to a local dentist in Boston? He came in for a person who was not even in their practice. I knew this would be my dentist from here out.

Started coming here after a friends recommendation and have not had any issues. Their computer system was down one of the times that I went so they billed me later without any issues. When I was making an appointment for a filling, I asked how much it would cost with my insurance, and she was able to go through the steps like I just had it done (without hitting process or save or whatever would have gotten me a bill) and tell me the amount.

I went in today for a cleaning after many years of not having one. They were great and I really feel like they are careful and conscientious. I am so glad I found this place! A word of advice–schedule an appointment TODAY–you’ll pay for it down the road if you don’t go in for that yearly cleaning. Ugh.

Great staff who care about their patients. Went during Phase 3 of Reopening and was impressed at the safety measures they have taken to prevent spreading COVID19; plenty of hand sanitizer, limited capacity, wait outside building until you’re called. Would recommend to anyone looking for dental care.

I’ve been going there now for 3 or 4 years, and thought it was time to offer a review. After about 20 years without seeking dental care, one of my molars essentially fell apart after my old filling fell out. When I asked around, Dr John Tieu had been recommended to me. I saw him, and he was a straight shooter, told me the procedures I needed, and told me what options I had to replace the tooth if I wanted. (I went with a dental implant.) The office manager Julia was helpful in figuring out what it would cost given my insurance, and we made a plan to stagger procedures across calendar years to minimize my out-of-pocket costs and get the most from my insurance. They billed my insurers directly and that aspect was never a hassle. Aside from replacing that tooth, Dr. Lauren Chinicci skillfully tended to cavities, and hygienist Kris helped restore my dental health particularly with my gums. They have been awesome. All these staff members have communicated very effectively with me. They are friendly on top of that, and always professional. Despite such a long time without seeing a dentist, they were all cool and made me feel glad to be there. While no one likes to undergo major restorative dental work, I am grateful to have been recommended to Dr. Tieu and Pondside Dental.

Grateful for the high quality dental services that I received from Dr. John Tieu and Hygienist Kieu at Pondside Dental, 11/21/20. My insurance provider was recently dropped by the dental practice where I had been a patient more than five years. I was looking for a new practice in the neighborhood now that I’m working from home. The staff at Pondside Dental was very professional, knowledgeable, and caring. I feel as if I had known them many years, though it was only my first visit. I highly recommend them if you were like me looking for a new practice where you can feel at ease – at the dentist. They have excellent check in procedures that comply with COVID protocols.

Kris, who has been practicing for 25 years at the same location, gave me a cleaning that I badly needed, and was so thorough, informative, gentle, and friendly! And Dr Tieu came in and examined my x-rays, explaining to me everything he saw. He was so nice too! A great experience, I will definitely be going back. Lots of love for Pondside Dental!!

I’m really glad I found Pondside Dental! I’ve been coming to see you for ~2 years or so and I really appreciate the detailed cleaning reccomendations I get. “Teeth 18 and 20 need some work, Irene.” I love it! I’m not sure if this level of detail is common at other dental offices but it’s much appreciated. I’d rather work to prevent issues now then deal with cavities later. Thank you!

Can I give this place 10 stars? I went to another local dentist that royally screwed up fillings I needed to have done. They did such a poor job, they created 2 new problems. I went to Pondside to get a second opinion, and as a true place of integrity Dr. Tieu spent 30 minutes giving me advice on all the options I had, but suggested I go back to my original dentist to give them an opportunity to fix their mistake. After 2 more unsuccessful attempts at my other dentist, I went back to Dr. Tieu. He again went through all my options based on what the inept previous dentist had done, and fixed my tooth in less than half the time, at half the cost. If you want to go to a used car salesman of a dentist, go somewhere near longwood. If you want a true professional who will be honest and fix your mouth, go to Pondside Dental. Special thanks to Dr. John you are the best dentist I know! If you still think that dental treatment is scary and frustrating, then you just need to come to Dr. John!

The entire team of receptionists, assistants, hygienists, and dentists are friendly, helpful and professional. They answer questions and explain things in a way that makes you feel empowered to improve your dental health. They go the extra mile to make your care feel personal and attentive, doing simple things like making sure to pronounce my unique and routinely mispronounced name correctly.

My experience here has always been great – everyone is friendly and they always make sure I’m completely comfortable and understand exactly what they’re doing and why. I used to loathe going to the dentist but I don’t mind it anymore! I’ve gone during covid for a couple of necessary appointments, and everything is very clean, lots of ventilation/air purifying, everyone is properly masked and distanced.

Pondside dental is a really great office I love going there for my dental treatment they do an amazing job I’ve been their patient for over 9 years I’m extremely happy with my crown and veneers I had done by DR.JOHN TIEU his a wonderful dentist Im amazed by his work will continue to do my dental treatment at PONDSIDE DENTAL the staff are very friendly there they all make me feel comfortable when I’m there again THANK YOU SO MUCH DR.TIEU FOR ALL YOUR AMAZING WORK YOU HAVE DONE MOST IMPORTANTLY THE TIME YOU TOOK TO DO IT I’M VERY EXCITED.

I have been going to dr. Tieu and Pondside for over ten years, they are amazing. Dr. Tieu’s work is precise and efficient with no pain. None of the fumbling around with anesthesia that never seems to work that I gave experienced at other dentists. Kris the hygentist is equally as precise and efficient. Beyond the quality of work is their customer care. I have a complicated work schedule and appointments are always difficult for me. Pondside has always been able to accommodate me with last minute appointments and scheduling blocks of time to accomplish all dental needs in one chunk of time so I don’t have to come back for multiple short appointments. Recently I cracked a tooth and was able to quickly get an appointment for that and while there dr. Tieu and Kris shuffled there schedules to catch me up on all routine and preventive work because I will be very busy in the next few months.  Pondside is truly amazing, i can’t thank them enough for their quality work and accommodation of my needs.

Just went here for the first time yesterday. Finally got dental insurance through my job to go so I was worried it was going to be horrific since it had been years. Not the case at all. They make you feel super calm and check in with you about how you’re doing throughout the cleaning. The atmosphere is cozy and they are very honest and practical about what is going on, what they are doing to your teeth, and why. I will be getting 4 fillings soon with them, but the doctor said they were mostly preventative since they are very shallow and said it wasn’t anything majorly concerning. He wasn’t pushy about getting it done or anything, just suggested I may want to get ahead of it now. The cost will be relatively low (around $280) with guardian group insurance. All reception staff was super friendly as well and they have some sweet Halloween decorations! Excited that I found a great place that makes going to the dentist much less awful

I’ve been going here for ten years, and am consistently impressed by the quality and the kindness of this team. From the responsive front desk, to my thorough hygentist Chris, to the calm & skilled Dr. Tieu, I always feel well taken care of and the work they have done has really improved my dental health. The precautions that they take for Covid are very thorough, as is all their work!
