Be warned that this dentistry is not in its own building. It’s on the 2nd floor of the Newport Lido Medical Center which is literally next to Hoag hospital. I got my cavity filled by Dr Ming and it was totally stress free! She was gentle, careful and made me laugh the whole time! I really did not mind my time here at all – and I normally hate going to the dentist! I’ll be back for sure, but hopefully it won’t be soon 😉

In terms of my teeth, I brush (using a sonicare) everyday and floss mostly every day although I could be a lot better at the flossing portion. I also use my Water Pik also which I’m still undecided of whether or not it actually helps lol. About a month ago I noticed that after flossing, the gums surrounding my bottom 3 front teeth were actually bleeding (a minor amount) and it scared me! I got their flyer the mail for the $150 first time exam promo with x rays/cleaning and decided that it was time to actually make it to the dentist office. Honestly, I really like this place a ton and mostly it’s because the staff!! It’s been a really long time since I’ve gone to the dentist, about 3 years I’d say, because I haven’t since then had a job that paid for my dental and to be honest I had just always assumed that prices for this sort of thing were crazy without insurance. The consult was so freaking worth it. The dentist I had was really nice and she had a good sense of humor but at the same time I think she really could feel out how worried I was about the bleeding I saw but calmed me down after talking about the best ways to care for that sort of thing. Anyways, here’s my 5 star review to the company since they made me feel comfortable with incorporating the dentist visits back into my schedule. Sucks being an adult 🙁 oh yeah, all in all i was in and out (with appointment) in about an hour, maybe just a tad bit over an hour and that’s with asking the dentist a crap ton of questions.

Very impressed. Prior to this my last experience was not so good with a different dentist but Portside came highly recommended so I decided to check them out. They implemented the latest techniques, were very good at explaining everything and overall are just a great bunch of people!
Oh and the work that was performed including the corrective from the previous dentist turned out great. Its been a few weeks now and there is zero residual pain or complications. I am extremely pleases and have been recommending Portside to all my friends and fam.
