As a former Certified Dental Assistant I’m particular about the dentists and offices I go to and this office is one of the very best in all ways. Dr. Ortega is super. She explains what she’s doing, takes care and does a very fine job. Dr. Dalton is equally as professional and I was very satisfied with the crowns he did for me. Mehrnoush the hygienist is a gem. She does such a thorough job and I am most comfortable with her cleaning and evaluation of my teeth and gums. The office is clean, appointments are handled promptly and all fees are well explained. I would recommend this office to anyone.

My family and I have been going here for the last several years and the service and staff are always excellent. To all the people in the bad reviews below who got “sold procedures”- just because you didn’t want them doesn’t mean you didn’t need them! I’ve never had to do anything besides my regular co-pay for procedures. Nobody has ever pushed me into anything, and they have always done their best to get me seen ASAP in emergencies or even over the weekend. Great group, great care, great prices.

Took my two boys there for their first dental visit and could not be happier. They had a great, clean office; a nice place for the boys to play while I worked out the paperwork; and everyone was so friendly to the boys. They all explained what they were going to do, made it fun and light-hearted so they were not intimidated or scared. They were extremely patient with my 2 year old who was not thrilled to have his teeth cleaned – but we got it all done. They got the royal treatment with balloons, new toothbrushes, their own packages and a lot of friendly smiles. So glad we chose this for our kids.

I have been going to poway family dental group for a number of years now and have found their staff and dental work to be nothing but excetional. the dentists, rdh, and staff have been nothing short of professioal and compassionate. the dental work/procedures done are always of the highest quality. i have recently been seen by matt feeney,rdh, and have nothing but praise for his work. his ability to explain procedures to me made it easy & understandable for me.

I don’t put much stock in reviews, ( have you ever seen the South Park Yelper episode)?… but in my experience this place was great. They were busy, harried, front office was being run by an obvious substitute person, but they got the job done nicely. It’s a real business folks. Some days are better than others I’m sure. I sell engines. Each day is full of challenges and obstacles. Imagine working on people’s mouths all day… They get my recommendation for sure.

I was visiting my daughter in Poway when I broke a tooth. I remembered the office from driving on Poway Rd. so I just walked in. The receptionist couldn’t have been nicer, she told me that a dentist would be able to see me in about half an hour. I filled out her forms and in about 15 minutes the dentist came and took me into the exam room. She told me that the tooth was in bad shape, but if I was careful I could make it last until my return to North Carolina in three days. I paid the very reasonable exam fee and left. Unknown to me at the time, my daughter had come from work early that day and would pick up my grandsons (which she had asked me to do late in the afternoon). It was now 4:15 PM, but I went back to the office. I was seated in the chair right away and had a new crown put on. No pain, easy payment plan, excellent doctor. She had to spend almost two hours just getting the old mercury filling out. She also took time to build and install the new crown. I left the office at 7:30 PM, long after their usual closing time. Back in NC, my long time dentist told me he could not have done a better job.

I am 45 years old and have had very little dental care experiance (4 times in 45 years) as i was growing up but I was lucky with the gene pool and never had a cavity or anything having to do with my teeth. Well at 45 that all changed my iron mouth turned into a 7 hour ordeal that the staff just seemed to become family they made time for me when they had no time. I am not pumping anything these people realy care I am leaveing for Afghanastan in two weeks and they did in one day what would take a (comercial) dental care a week to doo. I would like to say thank you so much not only for the personalysed care but the people that cared for me! I felt like I was with family.

I’m a new patient that just went in yesterday, and I must say, this team is amazing! Everyone makes you feel so welcomed and they’re all so helpful for any questions or concerns you have. I had come in for a teeth cleaning and X-rays, as well as had some concerns for a deep filling I have. Everyone made me so comfortable and relaxed since I’m a baby when it comes to having any dental work. I had a lot of questions concerning everything from whitening my teeth, having Invisalign, a root canal, and some fillings and before I could even ask, the dentist had already answered everything for me while cleaning my teeth!! Amazing team!

Friendly staff and the doctor was really patient with my questions. My hesitation going to any dentist is because I don’t want to be advertised to the entire duration of my visit; when the majority is just preference versus needs for the health of my teeth. But my visit today was not a sales pitch. They were considerate and sensitive to my needs. They were honest and offered very practical suggestions for maintenance that I could pick up at any store. When I made the appointment they said it could be an hour and a half. But I was in and out in less than an hour. They’re fast, efficient, and caring. They restored my faith in good dentists.

I wanted to share the awesome dental experience that I had at Poway on 08/19/2018. It started with the friendly welcome from the staff and continued with my hygenist Ronnie, who was outstanding. My appointment was for a deep cleaning and I was nervous because I had a lapse in treatment. Ronnie exceeded my expectations with skilled hands and a great bedside manner. He went out of his way to make me feel comfortable. Ronnie walked me through every step of my treatment and gave me recommendations for my future treatments. They are just money hungry here! Beware!. I had a root canal done and even with the best dental ins money can buy it all came to just under 1000 dollars!. Next they want me to come in for a new crown , which they want to charge me 680!. I checked with a new place right down the road from me and they only want 450!. I called poway back to tell them that and they didn’t even try to work with me basically just hung up on me cause they only want your money don’t go here!

Just went to Poway Family Dental Group for my cleaning!!  Got a happy face with no cavities or problems.  These people are great – I’m a bit afraid of going to dentists, but they make me relax, know what’s coming (nothing worse than surprises at the dentist) and Matt is the best when it comes to cleaning my teeth and not hurting me!!  Woohoo people – this is the place to go for gentle yet professional dental work.  Been going here for 7+yrs. and that proves they are easy to work with.

Extremely happy with the level of service provided at this location.  It has been years since I’ve had my last exam and cleaning.  The friendly staff tool care of my needs and I left more knowledgeable and happy with the care rendered.  I can now smile with confidence again.  Would recommend to anyone from my family and friends.  Best dental experience I’ve ever had!

EXCELLENT …. From the time you arrive until your departure everyone is courteous and friendly.  Whatever the procedure, it is completely explained before beginning.  Your concerns are always addressed, including the financial aspect. I have always been presented with options to the treatment I was preparing to select, including how much it was going to cost me! The truth of the matter is this , Poway Dental is a business, they are there to do your dental work and make money! They, like any enterprise, can’t please everyone ………… I’m totally satisfied with Poway Dental and have no reservation recommending them to anyone!

WOW!! I’m surprised to see so many bad reviews….. I have to say that I had the best experience there. The staff is so kind and warm, not at all what the other posts seem to say, Dustin was very professional and went over all MY options with me, never felt any sales pressure at all, they were very generous, as well with their flexible payment options…. My Dr was Dr Dalton and he was excellent!!! Even though I have only been in a couple times, my visits were ALWAYS very pleasent I look forward to my future visits there… So I have to say give them another try… They were ALL GREAT!!

What a transformation in my smile! WOW! My teeth have never been so pain free and (almost as important) looks so much better! It’s been quite the undertaking to achieve the results that we did, but everyone was very patient with this patient. Very professional and courteous staff. Thankx to all who have assisted me the past year and a half in all of my dental work. I will continue to refer friends, family, and clients to Poway Family Dental for many years to come.

Dr. Dalton and his Team provided an excellent visit for a stressful situation. I went in with a broken tooth and knew it would be crowned. Since I was already there, we decided that getting a second crown done at the same time made since, especially since I was getting nitrous oxide for my anxiety for the visit. (Bad history with dentists in general.) Not only were they sensitive to my needs, they took mini-breaks so I could relax my jaws. Remember, it was TWO crowns. That takes time. They manufactured my crowns there, and I was in and out in 4 1/2 hrs. Sounds like a long time, but it was better than having two visits, not to mention the time it takes for the crowns to come in from the lab. Normally, you get a temporary crown and then have to come back. Double that time for two crowns. Yes, it was expensive, and I have insurance. But I am at the stage in my life where these will probably be the last crowns for those teeth, I have the money in the bank, and I did get the top of the line. So whaddayagonnado? Yeah, it would of been nice if the bill was half the cost, but since the total experience of the office visit was the best dental experience I have ever had, completely worth it! I found everyone to be professional, caring, understanding, and experienced. I don’t understand the poor reviews, as mine was completely the opposite. I highly recommend this dental office. (And no, I don’t work for them, or know anyone there. Just saying.)
