I went to Powell Dental with two incredibly painful teeth.  It was so bad that I could barley talk and couldn’t eat.  My husband called them at 10 am, they got me in at 10:45 and quickly diagnosed and treated me.  From the moment we called (and I was a brand new patient) they were kind, caring and thoughtful. I have severe dental anxiety which Dr. Blair and his team completely understood and worked with, helping me through this stressful event. Their compassion and understanding was beyond compare (and I’ve tried many different dentists in Portland).  I am feeling so much better tonight thanks to Dr. Blair and his team.  Powell Dental’s Dr. Blair will now be the dentist for my entire family.  Thank you Powell Dental!

5 stars just isn’t a high enough rating for Powell Dental! Dr. Blair and his team saved me from a very painful tooth. They fit me in on the day I called, as a new patient! AND they stayed open late knowing that I probably wouldn’t make it through the weekend with my bad tooth. I am a nervous dental patient and they did several non-medication things to help me relax that actually worked. It was one of the best dental visits I have ever had. They saved me from having to go to a horrible “dentist in a box”. You and your family probably need Dr. Blair and his amazing team. You’ll thank me later. Really, you will.

When you go to Dr Ryan Blair’s office, it’s a treat! The staff all know your name, and I always receive a warm greeting when I walk in the door. I usually can get a cup of good tea, as I watch the fish aquarium, before my visit starts. Dr Blair’s staff is always ready for your appointment, and are confident in the work they do. They can address your nervousness or pain right away. Everyone there is very caring and upbeat! It’s the best decision I have made in my health care for several years. And its where I will be taking care of my teeth for many years to come!

Dr. Blair and his staff has done nothing but given excellent service and dentistry work to myself and family for the past 20 years. My daughter (now an adult) was one of his first child patients, and if he wasn’t the best dentist, we would not have continued to stay with his office.  As a family of five (160 teeth) I appreciate he stays up with the latest technology in the dentist world, and he has a wonderful chair-side manner. He knows his stuff and his calm, competent manner has always put me at ease. He has worked on my family members from age 5 to 85 and never a single complaint. He also has a highly trained, very personable staff. I would highly recommend Dr. Blair for any dental work/needs.

Beautiful, clean office, friendly people, and great work. I came in just to do a checkup and they went over all of my questions and did my cleaning with very minimal discomfort. They talked about my options when it came to gretting my wisdom teeth taken out, and gave me detailed estimates. Plus they had nature docs on the TV in the room. Who doesn’t love watching bears play in the snow while they wait for the doctor? I definitely recommend this office to people who want a pleasant visit, or feel anxiety about visiting the dentist. I had to schedule my appointment fairly far in advance, but it was worth the wait.

I am so happy I found Powell Dental! They are so friendly and efficient. Dr. Ryan is very gentle, I had a few fillings to take care of and I was very nervous. Dr. Ryan had me in and out in no time and I didn’t even feel a thing. A lot of dental offices seem really sales driven whereas Powell dental  gives you the facts and let’s you decide what’s best for you. I always get my teeth cleaned by Aliesha, she is literally the best hygienist I have ever been to! She is quick, efficient and super friendly.  I would highly recommend Powell dental for all those unfortunate  tooth woes and preventative care.

I am very happy with the care I have received at Powell Dental.  They are a professional staff who uses updated technology and practices.  I went in yesterday to have two crowns prepped.  I was a little hesitant as past experience was a 3-hour procedure, vertically, and uncomfortable..  Not so at Powell Dental and Dr. Blair.  The procedure went by smoothly and quickly — and was all that I had hoped for and more!  It was a great dental experience and I am glad I made the decision to go to Powell Dental.

Dr. Blair and his staff at Powell Dental are fantastic. I went in for a cleaning and then a filling and they were great with each encounter. Everyone is friendly and polite, and there is an obvious comradery amongst the staff. Dr. Blair was kind, gentle, and personable. He explained the procedure and answered any questions I had. Nora is an excellent communicator, we spoke on the phone several times and she was professional and helpful. Katherine and April were also great to work with and easy to talk to. Prices were estimated ahead of time. April kindly recommended how to save money by keeping up with home care. No hoops, just great service. Highly recommended, I will gladly be returning to Powell Dental.

Everything about this dental office is wonderful! The front desk managers, hygienists, and of course Dr Blair! I have been coming here a year now and leave feeling like I have truly found one of the best dental experiences in Portland that I could find. Our family travels all the way from Sherwood, OR just to see him. They have the most up to date equipment including a mini drill for small cavities to eliminate tooth lose, clean your teeth with an air type product that eliminates a lot of scrapping and really whitens your teeth! Dr Blair is kind, personable and open to accommodating what you would like to see happen in the dental chair.

Dr. Blair was recommended to me by my former hygienist (who has since retired) because she believed he was a great dentist. I found Dr. Blair to be extremely knowledgeable, low pressure, and in general a nice person. I have had fillings and crowns and the procedures were flawless. Heidi is my current hygienist and I find her to be extremely hard working, thorough, gentle, and personable. She has been very accommodating and is as good a hygienist as I have ever had. Nora, who is one of the receptionists that works in the front office is very skilled in her job. She schedules appointments, collects fees, and works with your insurance company. Nora and the rest of the staff are always friendly and very professional

My husband and I both came in to see the dentist for a routine check today. The staff was very nice and got both of us in in a days notice. I spent a good amount of time talking to the hygienist Lily just making conversation until the doctor was ready which I really enjoyed. They seem to have really top of the line technology. They snapped photos of different areas of concern and were able to show me what they were seeing on the spot. All in all we both had really enjoyable visits and will definitely continue coming to Powell dental

I have found Powell’s dental through a friend and let me tell you it’s a local gem. The front desk staff is very nice, very professional and has helped me to submit complicated claims for an implant and associated procedures with an implant. Also, I had consultations with both dentist and a tooth extraction and I really felt really calm and the staff made sure I was comfortable during my procedure. Its truly a family feel dental office and you are being treated like you’re part of the family.

I highly recommend Powell Dental! Everyone there from the front desk all the way to the dentist makes an already undesirable experience enjoyable! Seriously though everyone is extremely friendly and they really do care about how your day is going or how it went. They are all so kind and helpful and explain your procedures in the most gentle and understandable manner. My kids don’t mind going to their dentist appointments and I don’t mind driving across town to get us there! I have a terrible fear of dentists, dental visits, dentist offices, dental appointments, anything having to do with dental work. Luckily, I did not pass this fear on to my kids. I was in need of a new dentist and my daughter told me to try her dentist, Dr Ryan Blair. Still full of anxiety and fear, I got in to the office, met many of the staff, and allowed Dr Blair to figure out the best treatment plan for me. I have had to be medicated and or use Nitrous Oxide for dental appointments for decades and am so glad to say that is a thing of my past! Dr Blair is kind, thorough, quick, painless! His staff is awesome! I’m glad to say he is my dentist and that my teeth have received excellent care! Thanks, Powell Family Dental!

These wonderful people really care about their clients. I couldn’t have felt better about how my first appointment went. The front office staff was so polite, efficient and helpful, and my hygienist, Aliesha, was fun and wonderful and seemed to get me through the x-ray and cleaning process very quickly and gently. Dr. Blair was also very efficient and carefully explained what the treatment plan would be, checking to ensure my understanding and agreement periodically. Then, April in the front office carefully explained the tentative plan and pricing to me, and how Powell Dental would work with my insurance company in detail to make sure everything could get done. I left feeling confident and excited to improve my smile, crushing the nervous feeling I had before coming in. I hope to keep Powell Dental as “my” regular dentist for a long time. I’ve already recommended Dr. Blair’s services to multiple friends and loved ones.

The best! When I first moved to Portland I went to a big dental chain who told me I needed $2,000 worth of work. I went back to the east coast to see my family dentist and they said I didn’t need anything done. After that I was on the search to find a trustworthy dentist in Portland, and I am so happy I was able to find that here! I used to live down the street, but have since moved 30 minutes away. I still drive out of my way to come here because the staff is super friendly, helpful and trustworthy.

Its always difficult finding, and then working with, a new dentist. Powell Dental was the first place I tried that was nearby and in my insurance group. And I’ve not looked back. The office staff have been so generous and helpful dealing with several insurance issues and with rescheduling appointments. All of the hygienists I’ve worked with were terrific. Professional, friendly and providing high quality service. Recently I needed a filling replaced in a front tooth which is never much fun. However, Dr. Ryan made it very easy being quick and efficient as well as excellent at what he does. The enamel color match is absolutely perfect. I was in and out in less than an hour and by the end of the day I could have easily forgotten it had ever even happened at all! I was also really happy with the ability to make monthly payments to take care of the balance that insurance would not cover. My experience has been very good.
