I wouldn’t trust anyone else. Dr. Lai is the best dentist I’ve had. I always recommend him to friends looking for a new dentist and now even my husband is hooked. I found him by accident because his office was close to my former employer and now, even though he’s not close to me anymore, I will still go out of my way to have my teeth cleaned and fixed by Dr. Lai. He has a wonderful manner that puts you at ease and his work is phenomenal. The light music playing in the exam room makes for a much more relaxing experience. He doesn’t have Zen in the business name for nothing.

My experience at Dr. Lai’s was about as good as any dentist experience could be. Dr. Lai is extremely thorough and communicative. He is clearly very knowledgeable and works efficiently. He is also extremely kind with a good sense of humor! The office was clean, and my appointment ran perfectly on time.

I’ve been going to Dr. Lai for the last 1 1/2 years and have been happy with his service. He’s professional and communicates what he’s doing. In addition to cleanings and wellness checkups I decided to get Invisalign and after finishing all my trays, he decided I needed 2 more trays for better alignment. He’s very thorough and gets the job done. I highly recommend him.

Herrick Lai is the best dentist I’ve had. He is attentive, and had done all of his own exams cleanings, unlike other offices I’ve been to where they have a hygienist do the work for them and see you only for a few minutes. He examines your tongue, glands, and is very thorough with his cleanings. Highly recommended!

I am very nervous person when it comes to visiting the dentist, very nervous. Dr Lai was so kind and patient with me. He took the time to speak to me about my concerns, explained the procedure in detail and listened. I would certainly recommend Dr Lai for anyone who has any fears, he is so calming and professional. I no longer fear, knowing that there are professional and caring dentist like Dr Lai. Staff in his office are very accomodating and professional.

I have been a patient of Dr. Lia for many years now. His professionalism and calmed demeanor are the main reasons why I am his loyal client. I have referred my friends to him before, and they always report more than satisfying experiences. He is an expert at what he does, and is always clear when explaining procedures, and alternate options for treatments. I also enjoy the time at his office, for it is a quiet, and welcoming environment.

Dr. Lai is an excellent dentist. He explains with clarity all procedures, his office is bright and clean, and I believe he is very knowledgeable about dentistry. He does not foist unnecessary procedures as some dentists do, yet employs the latest technology. I moved out of town and tried another dentist in my new area, but will make the trip to use Dr. Lai again next time. Recommend!

Highly recommended. Very clean office with extremely prompt service. Puts you at ease so there’s little of the nerves one usually associates with a visit to the dentist office. And unlike my previous dentist, he doesn’t try to push procedures on you that you don’t need just to get the insurance money. Seems like a very trustworthy person

Dr. Lai is the most friendly and caring dentist I’ve ever seen! I’ve always had a fear to visit the dentist’s office, not anymore – this is the first time I find a dentist visit enjoyable. I came in for a checkup and cleaning, was warmly greeted by the doctor himself and checked in. The office is clean and organized, he’s taking appropriate COVID measurements by taking my temperature at entrance. The appointment went promptly and smoothly, he’s extremely gentle and thorough, detailed and focused – couldn’t be happier with the results! Dr. Lai addressed my concerns and went the extra steps to make me feel at ease and relaxed at all times. I just found my new permanent dentist, looking forward to future visits!

Love Dr. Lai!!! I’ve been seeing Dr. Lai for 4-5 years and have had a very positive experience every time I’ve seen him for everything from teeth cleaning to crowns. His work is impeccable, and he is very detailed and thorough. Moreover, he’s a super nice funny guy with a great personality & demeanor who is pleasant to be around. He’s very accommodating – I’ve had emergencies and he’s squeezed me in last minute. He’s also fixed issues I’ve had between appointments without charging me (due to the fact I’m a long term patient of the practice) I recently had crowns done on my two front teeth which was nerve wracking. The procedure went smoothly and my new teeth look fantastic! I thought I would need to go to some famous celebrity dentist to get that kind of work done, but he did a flawless job. Can’t tell you how much that means when you are talking about your two front teeth! I’m a fan of the fact that appointment confirmations and reminders are done over text/email. And the office is clean, nice, comfortable and modern. I’m a huge fan of Dr. Lai and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a dentist!

Dr. Lai provided me with his complete attention and explained every step of what he was doing, including whether or not it would be out of pocket or covered by insurance.  He did a very gentle and thorough job on the routine cleaning and bonding on sensitive gum areas.  Could not ask for anything more!

I have been coming to Dr. Lai for many, many years and here’s why. He’s very professional and knowledgeable. His office/practice is very clean and neat. Most importantly, Dr. Lai is very patient and genuinely cares about his patients. And if you really get to know him, you’ll find that he had a wicked sense of humor! Dentists really need that in their line of work!

I avoid dentists like the plaque but I finally had to go since it has been 6 years since I last saw one.  When I walked into Dr. Lai’s office, I was struck by how clean and immaculate the waiting and office were.  The same can be said for his equipment .  What was best was that  Dr. Lai immediately put me at ease.   He does all the work and cleaning himself and did not pass me off to a hygienist.  He was meticulous cleaning wise and replacing my old fillings.  This is the first time I have been so happy with a dentist that I am more than happy to come back in 6 months for a cleaning.  Btw, I made an appointment for my husband too.

This was my first visit with Dr. Lai. My appointment started on time. Dr. Lai asked about my dental history for some background and then took a few x-rays to screen for cavities and other potential problems. He was very patient in explaining the x-rays image by image which was very helpful. He then proceeded to give me a thorough yet gentle cleaning and we were done! Overall, a great experience and I will be returning in the fall.

Awesome service! Been seeing him for a few years now and he always amazes me with his work. He is a perfectionist and I truly appreciate it. His recommendations are realistic and you don’t tend to find that with a dentist. I have recommended him to as many people as I can and will continue to do so. There aren’t a lot of dentist that make you feel comfortable in their chair and he strives to do that every time. Dr. Lai is an excellent dentist with a great bedside manner. He works efficiently, yet is extremely thorough, utilizing technology to walk you through his observations. Above all, he is kind and funny too! A true gem – and just steps away from my apartment. I couldn’t recommend him enough and will certainly not hesitate to return.

Love this place! I used to go to two of the top celebrity dentists in NYC. One in the Chrysler bldg and the other was across the street from it and neither compare to the service, attention, and price (which is most important to me since the downturn of this economy). Dr. Lai is and has always been gentle on my face while doing his work in my mouth. When I say I walked out of my past dentists’ offices looking like I was in a bar brawl… I’m not kidding!! I have had swollen lips, punctured cheek lining, and scratches along my outer cheeks and chin in the past… But I’m happy to say that those days are gone ever since going to Prezendental. Also, he correctly repaired the crown work that one of the aforementioned dentist screwed up by filing my tooth down so low that the crown had no foundation and would crack often. Once it cracked while eating a slice of soft chewy pizza… How does that happen?? Dr. Lai took his time and ordered a special fitting crown and worked some magic and I’ve been thankful and committed to him ever since. ALSO!!! What I’m about to say next is a clincher and shows you the difference between a good dentist and a GREAT dentist. I freaked out on a Tuesday because that crown placed by the previous dentist cracked and left a gaping whole in my mouth the day before I had to leave for Bermuda for several days for a big wedding and I when I called Dr. Lai with angst in my voice he made time for me that day even when his schedule was booked. He told me to come in after hours and then he fitted me for a new crown to be ordered and placed a temporary one so I may enjoy my trip! This is why I don’t like my current dentist — I LOVE HIM!!! And I’m man enough to admit it. Dr. Lai is the man and I’ll continue to use his services. Plus his facility is top of the line!! If anyone is looking for a caring, gentle, knowledgeable, technical, and “sometimes” funny dentist… Dr. Lai is him!! Yeah, I mentioned “sometimes funny” because he actually has a sense of humor too… A dentist with a personality — Who knew??

I have been going to Dr. Lai for the last seven years and he is without a doubt the best dentist I’ve ever had. I have been referring him to all of my friends and colleagues and they all universally love him as well. He is super-thorough and detailed with a great gentle manner. He is easy to talk to and trustworthy. The office is a great space and conveniently located with an easy online booking system and available hours. I highly and enthusiastically recommend him without hesitation.

Dr Lai offers top-notch service and is truly the best dentist I’ve ever been to. He did my bridge work and I couldn’t be happier with the results. He is very reasonable and like many other reviews mentioned, he has a great sense of humor to make you feel comfortable throughout the procedure. I was able to quickly and conveniently book an appointment with Dr. Lai through ZocDoc. Right as I entered, he was personable and had read up on the background information I provided to him beforehand. This made it easy for rapport to be established. I never felt rushed, and I appreciate that he took the time to explain my XRays to me. I learned things about my teeth that my prior dentist never explained to me before! The cleaning was also very thorough. I will definitely be returning in 6 months for my next cleaning.

My brother is an oral surgeon, so needless to say, I’m picky when it comes to someone probing my mouth with sharp tools.  Since my brother isn’t in nyc, finding a good Dr in the city is a daunting task.  Dr Lai is fantastic.  He’s gentle, thorough, and polite.  It’s nice to see that he does alot of the clinical work himself.  Often, I’m handed to a hygienist or resident and I only get to see the Dr for 5 minutes for questions.  Recently, I took some pretty bad trauma to my mouth, and he patched me up gently and efficiently.  Even though his office is modest, he has pretty updated equipment.  I’d rather see a Dr invest in the latest dental equipment than superficial things like massage chairs.  If I had to pick on anything, if would be the FM radio in the background.  5 stars well deserved.

Finding a good doctor/dentist is such a frustrating challenge that whenever i find a good one, I feel like I should share. Dr. Lai is friendly and polite, yet efficient. I called the office for an appointment for a routine checkup/cleaning on Thursday, and was booked for the following Monday. The waiting room and patient room are immaculate. I’m kind of a germaphobe, so I was impressed to see that all of the equipment is new and visibly clean. I was also impressed that he does all of the clinical work himself – including the X-rays and the dental cleaning. Most other dentists will delegate this to a dental hygienist. Highly recommended.

I have been going to Dr. Lai for about 9 years now and I always look forward to my appointment, even if I need a filling! It is so wonderful to deal with only one doctor and not be passed through a bunch of different assistants or doctors and he is so clear about anything that needs to be done. I completely trust him and would never go to any other dentist!

I had an emergency with broken tooth and my brother recommended Dr. lai. I am so glad I listened, Dr was so understanding, saw me on short notice, and I felt as if I had known him. I felt comfortable and at ease. I expected a lot of pain, but thankfully Dr lai made it a wonderful experience. The office was a very professional setting, and the cleanliness was on point. As usual, Dr. Lai, was very pleasant and patient. He always takes the time to explain every procedure and he warns me of any slight pain or discomfort that I may experience. Usually, there is little to no pain because Mr. Lai is very careful and knows my teeth very well. I have been Dr. Lai’s patient for roughly two years.
