My experience going to Purdy Pediatric has always been a great experience. From the doctors all the way down to the staff, they are all professional and will answer any questions or concerns you may have about your child’s oral hygiene. I would highly recommend this dental office to all my friends and co workers with children. Best experience my kids have had at any office.

I’ve been taking my kids to this office for their regular checkups and cleanings. I really like how they have remodeled the waiting area to accommodate the patients while keeping everyone in safe conditions. Additionally the staff is fantastic, always friendly and positive. They do a great job dealing with children and treating them like they were their own. The dentist is very good at what he does and also is very good with the kids, even the really nervous ones. I’ll continue taking the kids here they do a great job.

I’ve been bringing my kids to Purdy for YEARS now. Always wonderful experiences with a friendly and caring staff! They were on top of it when my son had a complicated issue, missing adult teeth and needed braces. They never suggested more work than necessary, and helped me get through a treatment plan to create the awesome smile he has today!

I love this office!  When you walk in you are greeted by the friendly staff while your kids are able to play on the iPads in the waiting area.  I have always been called back quickly to our appt.  The hygienists and dentist never make me feel rushed and always take their time in answering my questions.  I highly recommend taking your children to Purdy!

I’ve been going to Purdy since I was a kid and now I take my  2 year old daughter there it has always been the best place in town for a children’s dentistry. I highly recommend this place for children the Purdy Pediatric Dentistry staff is very friendly and always make sure your child’s visit is safe and fun and easy with no hassle.

I took my 2 year old today for her first dental appointment and as soon as I walked in the nicely decorated waiting room caught my attention. The cute little jungle theme is pleasant to look at when you first walk in. I also liked that there was only 1 other person waiting in the waiting room compared to packed rooms at other local dentists offices. I expected an hour or more wait since it was the first appointment but no I was called back with my little one in about 10 minutes. While you wait they have little vidoe games the kids can play as well.  Dr Purdy and the assistant were both very nice and answered all my countless questions. They also took my little ones picture for her first visit and gave me a copy which will be a nice little addition to her baby book. They Sent us home with a bag of goodies that included a toothbrush, floss picks, dental floss,a brushing timer, toothpaste and a sticker of our choosing. I highly recommend this dentist office to parents of young children. They are sooo much better than Western Dental!

I’m not sure  what parents expect from the receptionist at the front desk. I wouldn’t say they were the nicest people but I wasn’t all that nice either to them. So maybe we need  to try to be super nice to those who have to deal with us on a day to day basis. Maybe it’s not the people at the front desk and maybe were the ones who need a attitude  adjustment. Purdy Pediatric Dentistry just keep doing what your doing who cares what ignorant people think. Maybe you guys can work on people skills, but so can I. I don’t know who helped us when we were there but I thought the nurse lady and doctor guy were great to me and my wife and my daughter.

They moved to the truxtun ave and when we first walked in it has a spacious waiting area. When they called my son in, we went to the back where they had many patients sitting in the chairs and the parents sit against the wall across from them. The only thing I didn’t like is that they don’t have any privacy walls. I believe it’s a doctor’s or dentist’s visit that it is no one’s business listening to my son’s diagnosis. So I was glad they put him in a room instead so patient and doctor can talk privately. Glad it worked out and he had no cavities as well!

I brought my 3yo here after researching for dentist for his checkup. I drove past it when o was looking for it. The lobby has 2 tablets for the kids to play while they waited (only one was working and a 3rd was out of order) and 2 PlayStation (i think) for them for play also. The receptionist are really nice and friendly. Once we got to the back, they took him for his xrays and asked us to wait in front of the chair he would be getting examined. I liked how we were allowed to be back there with him. That was the main reason we chose dr purdys office. The xray room was right outside the door so i could hear my son getting them done. I was amazed that they were able to get them done which shows how patient they are with kids. When they brought him to his chair, they gave him a handheld gameboy while he waited. The dentist came and examined him and i like how he explained everything he was doing and spoke to my son to get him comfortable. Afterwards, they give you a care bag on the way out. Definitely recommend this office for parents that want to be able to be with their kids when exams are being done

We’ve gone here a few years for my little guy and he loves it. I was nervous because they don’t allow parents in the room when they’re doing work like fillings, but they were so conservative and careful in their approach that they held off on doing the filling and it turned out he didn’t need it. We kept it really clean and it was at an early stage where it could still heal. On another tooth he did need one, but not for at least a year. I talked to one of the ladies about my concerns and when she told me about all the parents who get sick/faint in the room during the procedure and how it hinders their ability to focus on the child, it totally made sense why they can’t safely allow parents in the room. His filling was fast and easy and he had no problems. The dentists really take time to talk to you and explain what’s happening.

I took my son here and he loved it he loved the video games. My son had some cavities so he had some work done and had to have his cavities filled and the front office lady I think her name was Miriam checked in on him every time I asked she was amazing answered all my questions reassured me that he was doing great. I will always come back just because of that experience.

My children have been going to Dr. Purdy’s office for 10 years now. The staff has always been welcoming and helpful. One of my sons has special needs (Autism) and they have been very patient with him. They went at his pace and didn’t rush or force X-rays or cleanings (we did these over several visits). My son also has sensory processing disorder. They worked with him when he was very young to get him comfortable with the sounds of the tools and the procedures of cleaning. They always listened to my concerns and were very accommodating in meeting his needs over the years. All of my children have loved the treasure box over the years too. I would recommend Dr. purdy and his staff to anyone looking for a friendly and efficient place to take their children for good oral hygiene!

I’ve veen taking my 2 older kids here since they were 2 and 4. My first child had a horrible first dental check up experience and after searching all over Bakersfield for the right one, I found Dr. Purdy. I let them know about my son being traumatized and they were very understanding and took excellent care of him. I cant wait to take my 3 rd child to see him for her first check up.

This place is always so patient with the kiddos, took my 2 year old for a check up and they were so patient and I didnt have a worry. They even sent me home a picture of her at her first dental appointment. The waiting room is painted with the cutest jungle animals to match their giraffe log. There are video games in the lobby to keep the kids busy and not worried about what was about to go on. There is a sign that parents cannot use their cell phones at all, I’m sure this is important but it isn’t happening. Kids on video games parents on their phone it is what it is. I took the opportunity to book a visit to my school in February to discuss with the little ones about brushing and flossing correctly. They always give a great presentation so I was excited they are coming back.

This childrens dentistry is a little out of the way for us but it is worth the drive. Thry are very family friendly and they know how to treat a customer. This place also discribes everything they are having done and go over the prices with you before just moving along and charging you the road like some other shady dentistries. We have been going here for a couple years now and wouldnt take the kids anywhere else. Of course insurance takes care.of most of it but we really enjoy the service they provide out kids. They have a great waiting area for the kids with newly released movie that isnt just on the preview screen and several games for the kids to play (bring you hand sanitizer). Overall if you are looking for a pediatric dentist Purdey Pediatruc Dentistry is something you should really consider.

I brought my 5 year old son who has severe anxiety with dentists due to a traumatic facial/mouth injury when he was younger and the entire staff was so amazing with him! He was absolutely terrified and the staff was incredibly patient and understanding with him. I’m very happy that I chose Purdy Pediatric as my son’s new dentist and look forward to my son’s next cleaning in 6 months!
